Elements of the Crown by Kay L Moody – Review by Crystal Jimmo

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria, #1)The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The story follows a girl named Talia. Her journey starts on a boat headed into the inner circle, so she can get tested for the academy of the elements. You watch her learn to control her power and watch it get stronger. Then, a wrench gets thrown and this boy whom she loves to hate enters into her life. You see her struggle but then she gets right back up again with just as much vigor. Nothing stops this girl, not even her a boy she considers her enemy. You see that hate slowly start to fade and they become friends. The biggest thing that I love about this first book, is that the love/hate relationship these two have for each other doesnt overwhelm the book. It’s a nice supporting role while it lets the main story be the primary focus. I highly recommend this book to anybody who loves a good story! But fair warning though, this book has a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more!

Rock Me to the Top by Victoria Zak – Review by Crystal Jimmo

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was wonderfully written by Victoria Zak that leaves readers wanting more! It gives you a peek inside the life of band Gracefall and it’s drummer Joe Grace and his best friend Melody Sterling. It’s got a little bit of everything, romance heartbreak, and a little steamy scenes sprinkled in there. Tragedy strikes the band leaving the band mates brokenhearted, but they are able to pick themselves up and brush the dust off and keep going. Melody is offered the chance of a lifetime twice! Girl has sass and a whole lotta brass. I loved reading this book and can’t wait for the next one to come out!!!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As the last and final book in this trilogy I was quite sad to even start this book. I was excited to see that this book has Lucy all by herself and it just shows how much of a badass she is. With Marcus gone and her dad gone she has to rely on herself to protect her and her friends when the mean girl (I really hated her throuought all books) summons a evil spirit. It’s a very good conclusion to the series!!! Well done! I’m happy that I can go back and reread it multiple times!!!!

This fantasy horror/thriller really had me at the edge of my seat the entire time. It starts out with a few different perspectives and then settles into the main characters. I felt like I was right there along with them, trying to figure things out and trying to navigate complex emotions. I really can’t see what happens next!

Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland – Review by Crystal Jimmo

Kingdom of Embers (Kingdom Journals #1)Kingdom of Embers by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Usually a vampire book can go either of two ways “I’m a brooding vampire pity me” or “I’m a bloodthirsty vampire fear me!” Kingdom of Embers takes those two and burns it up in flames. Alena is a kick ass vampire witch hybrid, that takes no crap from anyone. The story progresses at a reasonably pace. Each page has you wanting more. The cliffhanger at the end is no help whatsoever. It makes you question so many things and demanding answers! I can’t wait to read the next book and see what is in store!!! Well done! I couldn’t recommend it enough to my friends!!!

Born to Fight (Can't Resist You, #1)Born to Fight by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I took a chance on this book after reading the synopsis. It was intriguing and made me think a little. After finishing with the book, it wasn’t my cup of tea, because it didn’t stand out from all of the other post apocalyptic books to me. Don’t get me wrong the story was good, the writing was excellent but it left with too many questions and not enough answers for me. I’m going to give book 2 a chance to see if it answers any of those questions. Overall, the book was good and I did enjoy the world that was set up, and it would be a great book for someone else, just not myself.

Scarlett Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Crystal Jimmo

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read this book after giving into peer pressure. I had to see what this book everyone was raving about. I’m sure glad I did. I love this firey princess named Rowan. She reminds me so much of my favorite Disney princess named Merida. Rowan has this strength about her that most heroines don’t start out with. She breaks down those walls like they’re nothing. She knows she doesn’t need protecting and when it comes to Theo, she realizes that she wants it, not out of necessity, but because she geninuinly wants it. Without giving too much away, if you are on the fence about this book like I was, you will not regret reading it. I know I didn’t. I’m waiting impatiently for the 2nd book to come out soon, and time isn’t going fast enough! I can’t wait to see what’s in store next for my favorite badass warrior princess!

Haha wow just wow. Where to even begin? This book definitely take you on a Rollercoaster ride. Just when you *think* you have it figured it out, she throws a wrench in your theory and goes “Just kidding!!!! Watch what happens next!” And you are sitting there trying to figure out what the heck Just happened. There were a lot of little things that I missed and had to go back and read again. This book kept me up into the wee hours of the night and I just had to keep reading more!!! I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens! Reader beware! That cliffhanger will spartan kick you off the ledge before you even realize what happened!

Whew! Wow… just wow. This book took me on a Rollercoaster ride with all of its twists and turns and unexpected plot points. I thought I had it figured out and then the author went: “Nice try! Bam!” Plot twist. Seeing the struggle between choosing his wife and his mother was a little heartbreaking. I really enjoyed this book and have found a new thriller author! Can’t wait to read more by them!

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow!! Just wow! This breath of fresh air in the form of a book was absolutely wonderful. Reading about Liliana and her badass self was absolutely wonderful. She did not need anybodies protection and she let people know it. She was a force to be reckoned with. Max is the perfect partner for her. He wasn’t overly possessive at all. He was protective but still let her have her freedom too. There were some pretty steamy scenes that just added to the story instead of overwhelming it. I can’t wait to read more in this series and see what happens to the rest of Liliana’s close group of friends!

The Bow (Her Three Immortals, #3)The Bow by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I got to the end if this book I was go glad to find out that it is not the last book. When I saw that I was 90% of the way and there was still so much left to wrap up my heart started stopping. I was so glad to see that Vanessa continues to be a badness in this book and she just continues to grow even more. I loved reading about Aroz in this book and got to know that he isn’t just an asshole. The ending of this book is definitely not fair but I’m glad to know that I don’t have to wait long for the next book to come out. This book was super steamy and original. Each God and mortal has their own problems and different personalities and growth. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book and will be impatiently waiting!!!!

The God (Her Three Immortals, #2)The God by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It picks right up where book 1 left off, so I highly recommend you read the first book. Seeing Vanessa grow more this book was awesome. There is nothing that can stop this girl once she sets her mind to it. I wanted to strangle Grey the entire book and knock some sense into him. But at the same time actually understanding why he made the decisions he did made sense. I wanted to hug him and make the pain go away. Although I’m dreading what is going to happen with the Queen in the next book! Can’t wait to read the last book and see what happens!

For a short book I was not expecting things to happen very quickly and unexpectedly! Hazel does an excellent job keeping the reader on the edge of your seat! There’s romance, and steamy scenes, but they don’t overpower the story. The entire time I was rooting for Piper to get better and then that cliffhanger absolutely gutted me!! I can’t see what Vanessa is up to next and how her journey continues!!

This book definitely has something for everyone. Thriller, romance, suspense, and supernatural elements make it a good read! I devoured this short book within a few hours! Reading about Luci and her fiancée Beckett navigate a spooky manor that Luci inherited from her aunt was thrilling and quite interesting! You also get to see everything from the mysterious third person perspective was pretty cool. This was a new author for me and I’m happy that she did not disappoint. There are some steamy scenes in this short book and those too were a good read! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Raven Womans Tavern by Laura Koerber – Review by Crystal Jimmo

Raven Woman's TavernRaven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was beautifully well written. The first chapter is what drew me in. You could see from her eyes the progress of what her little river was like before humans came and mucked everything up and then the sad decline and the after affects of us leaving. That chapter alone makes you stop and think about real life. We are cutting trees down at an alarming rate, are we destined to have a future like that of the book? It gets your mind going and thinking, and then it introduces the main characters of the book and takes you along for the story. Every small town is not what it seems. I loved this story so much, it’s being added to my bookshelf.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whoo!! I loved these two books in this box set. This is the first time I’ve read anything by this author and it was well worth the read. Each story is a stand alone and all steamy. It got to the meat and potatoes without any of the fluff. If you just want sex scenes then this is a read for you! I thouroughly enjoyed these two books and will definitely be buying more later on! Well written and composed. 5 out of 5 stars!

Tainted by Marsha West – Review by Crystal Jimmo

TAINTEDTAINTED by Marsha R. West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tainted was a book I throughly enjoyed. It was like watching a movie in my head instead of reading a book, it was that well written. It kept me in suspense and on the edge of my seat. The character Gerry made my skin crawl every time his part came. Martha wrote him extremely well and I was happy with the way she ended it. I really wanted to see a continuation and how Matt’s and Liz’s relationship turned out! It had just enough steamy parts that got you wanting more, but before it got too descriptive and too into it, it stopped. That’s what I love. It didn’t overwhelm the story and become the main thing. It was nice addition that helped the story along. I can’t wait to read some more of her books!

I wanted to read more about their life!!!!! I still have so many questions!!! What happened with the master hellspawn?! Are we going to get a showdown with all of them?! Are we going to Tasha again?! So many questions!!!!! I can’t wait to read book 3 even though it will be based off someone else. I made the mistake of starting this before I went to bed and before I knew it the sun was coming up! Cliffhangers should be illegal. The end of this book had me on the edge of my seat. I loved reading this second installment. The plot twists had me scrambling for more. The relationship between Lucy and her dad caught me off guard and was not expecting it. The Lucy/Marcus/Dylan triangle had me groaning inside a little but I was happy with the hopeful end result. Hopefully. Watching Lucy grow and actually handle things maturely and not irrationally made me extremely happy. I still have so many questions on how all of these little odds and ends are going to be finished in book 3. I’m a little sad but excited to read more in book 3. Thouroghly enjoyed book 2!

This book picks up where book 1 left off. I usually don’t say this very often, but book 2 was better than the first one! Getting to understand our main characters and see more of their backstories gives them more depth. I had so much fun seeing James’s version of Atlantis, and going through time was a fun experience! A lot of things were happening but you can easily follow along and not get confused. I can’t wait to see what journey he takes us on next!!

Isra has done it again. In this latest installment, you finally find out about “the event” that keeps being referenced in the previous books. This book brings the series full circle. My heart broke for Isra as she went through these things even though you know that she finds her version of happiness in the earlier books. Like the previous books this book has been written wonderfully, and does not disappoint! I continue to absolutely love this series and its amazing characters!

In this book, it takes 10 years after the first book. Just like the first book there are many twists and turns. You think it’s one thing and then it smacks you upside the face with something completely unexpected. I love the ho esthetic of this book. Having a loved one with schizophrenia, this book was relatable. I understood the guilt, and the need of understanding. I felt deeply for both boys, and their loved ones. Definitely a must read once you’ve read the first one. Excellent well done JD Spero! I’m excited to see what awaits us next from you!

At first I struggled with the Irish lingo of the story, but the more I read on it got easier to read. The story focuses on Saoirse. She just lost her job and is struggling. Then in comes Smithy who falls for our firey Irish girl. This story is full of twists and turns and a little bit of heartbreak. I thouroghly enjoyed reading this book and getting to learn about Irsh mythology. I loved how you could see the music they made together come to life. I thought I could actually hear it in my mind. The cliffhanger at the end of this book makes you want to read the next book as soon as you finish. But alas it won’t be released until later this year. The wait is going to be agonizing!

I got chills reading this book. From the very first page you are bombarded with emotions from Lucy. Watching her lose her mother in the most horrible way makes you want to just grab her and hold onto her and never let her go. This girl is met with trial after trial and rises above it. At first she is very reluctant. I would be too if I was in her shoes! But, you see her grow and you want to read more. The storytelling is absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed every moment of this story. This is the first book I’ve read by JD Spero. When reading thrillers i stick with authors and R L Stein and Stephen King, but wow! I am glad that I branched out and took a chance with this author! This was a fast paced thriller focusing on two brothers Hen and Tyler. It’s a double perspective going back and forth between the two brothers. I was not expecting the plot twist at all! It kept me reading into the night wanting more. I had to know what was going to happen next. She is a very well written author and I’m very excited to read book two! I’m going to add JD on my list of thriller authors to keep track of and buy!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so wholesome mixed in with a little bit of spice added to this mix. It was an absolute breath of fresh air compared to other romance novels. Reading Chris’s and Chole’s love progress from being to friends to lovers made in inner me sigh and squee with glee. This was something I ate up in high school looking for that hopeful true love. Getting to see both points of view was a wonderful take. There were some others, but it mainly focused on these two. The flow of the story was really well done. It flowed through seamlessly without any kinks to it. For a debut novel Ms Stacy did a wonderful job. I look forward to reading more from her and will add her to my watchlist of authors!

Alterations (Alterations #1)Alterations by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First things first! Cliff hangers should be illegal! The cliffhanger at the end of this book spartan kicked me off the cliff with no warning and no parachute to slow my fall. This story has amazing storytelling! I was drawn into the book from page one. From Gigi’s mental disability, to Ellen’s weight loss problem to Lilly’s divorce, each person has something that’s real world relatable and something that at least one person has experience with. The different perspectives were done seamlessly and wonderful. I didn’t get lost on whose perspective I was reading. I was glad you get to see inside Dr. Kite’s perspective. Most of the time you don’t get to see that.
This book did get me thinking. Are we pretty close to achieving this in real life if we keep going? It spurred so many questions about in real life and it made me question “Would I want something like that?
I enjoyed reading this book, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

I was rooting for Sheldon and Simone from the very get go. They had amazing chemistry and played off each other fairly well. Seeing Simone slowly open up to Sheldon and watching them grow closer made me happy. Although reading the descriptions of his miniatures he made, definitely had me giggling and giving me ideas for my own personal life.
The storytelling was magnificent and wasn’t solely focused on just the steamy scenes

Naomi Valkyire has done it again with this adorable story. I absolutely loved learning about Jezebel and Mikael’s sister this time and reading about the adventures they went on. At first I didn’t like Hassabel. Her “holier than thou” attitude rubbed me the wrong way. But seeing her grow out of it was a sigh of relief.
Learning about Jezebel made my heart cry. She had been through so much. Also seeing her overcome her trials had me whooping and yelling to cheer her on.
I can’t wait to see what Naomi does next!

I am not a big sci-fi fan, but man oh man did Mr James have me on this book. His character building and writing is just phenomenal. He sets the world and the scene and brings you into it. I felt like I was a character in the book. That doesn’t happen to me very often. Words cannot describe the emotions that I felt reading this book. I was on a rollercoaster and I didn’t want off. There is so much detail you have to pay attention. I couldn’t put this book down at all. It’s one of those that you start before bedtime thinking you’ll be able to stop and put it down, but next thing you know it’s 5 a.m. and the sun is starting to peek through the blinds. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book!
