A word of warning …. Have an ample supply of Kleenex and chocolate on hand before delving into this beautiful read ❣️📚

Jake and Mary were married and all seemed to be going well till she blind sided him and told him she wanted a divorce she said she met someone else but it wasn’t that all it was that she wanted off the ranch I think she felt the ranch always came first and I get that but I wish she told him the truth because shortly after that , she takes a fall and leaves him widowed with a newborn baby …

Jake is a brilliant daddy and he’s doing his best and there’s no doubt he loves his daughter and he’s got an amazing support system but X needs a mommas love and influence again there’s no doubt she’s loved but a momma just does things differently…

Alexa was left at the altar and I’d say good riddance because there’s so much better out there that will love her wholeheartedly and she has Biscuit 🐾🥰 her beloved and devoted four legged friend so boo hoo it’s Rodney’s loss ….

Alexa takes a vacation to catch her breath and on the way there’s a road incidents with hogs her and Biscuit aren’t really hurt but need to be checked out and guess who comes to her aid ? Dashing Jake ( and the sweet Katie’) ! Anyhoo Donna is at the house to check on Alexa while Brett will take a look at Biscuit 😍

So it seems that Donna needs to stay in the main house just for a few days and I could cut the tension with a knife ! Everything happens for a reason and I’m sorry the accident had uk happen but if ever there was a perfect match it would be Jake , Alexa , Katie and Biscuit 🥰

There’s so much to say about these people , the swear jar , the family , the comrade , the animals , the ranch hands …. It’s a read where friends become family , you laugh , you cry , you swoon , you get mad and you just get lost in between the pages ❣️📚

This is one I’ll share with friend and arm them with supplies 😉

This story was awesome. Lexie and Jake’s story is so compelling. They were both lost in their own ways from their past relationship. There is drama and twists in this story that keep the pages turning. I could not put this one down.

Oh, I devoured this book. So sweet and wholesome, and even had some twists/suspense that really kept me engaged and not wanting to put it down. I loved Katie, Jake’s daughter, and the way she stole Lexie’s heart from the beginning. Jake and Lexie had some rocky pasts, and hesitations about moving on, but they could deny the pull/connection between them. Minimal spice, great characters and writing. Would recommend this book, and will definitely be reading more from this author.

I am in love with Katie and Biscuit and how adorable they are separately and together. The love between her little girl and her dog is one of the purest loves there is. Throw in Dolly the Longhorn into the mix and I was a happy girl.

Jake did a lots of growing in a short period of time and I enjoyed seeing him evolve from a very unhappy man who really seemed to go through the motions day to day to someone who is happy with his life.

Lexie was the best thing that could have happened to Jake and Katie. She healed them as much as they healed her and they all found their happiness with each other.

This is the first book by Ms. Wayne I have had the pleasure to read, but it won’t be the last.

Loved this one! Lexie and Jake’s story is a page-turner! Jake rescues Lexie and the two are pulled together after each experiencing the ending to relationships. For Lexie, vacation didn’t quite turn out how she thought it would, but it could change her life forever.

I really enjoyed this story. It is heartwarming, but also has tension and keeps you turning the pages until the end. I loved both main characters and the author’s development of their individual stories as well as their relationship. The author has an effortless and engaging writing style. I’ll be picking more up by this author!

An emotionally closed off cowboy due to his past with his wife, her infidelity, and not knowing if the child she was pregnant with was in fact his. He’s not willing to open up and risk his heart again, but enter Lexie, who after suffering terrible heartbreak, and being left at the altar by a man she’s really not sure she loved, has decided to start fresh after a move. I really enjoyed Dana’s take on these characters. They felt real, relatable, and their chemistry was off the charts. You felt the emotions as the characters experienced them. I always appreciate the dual narrative point of views for this very reason. Neither Jake nor Lexie can deny the attraction that they are experiencing despite everything they’ve been through. Dana Wayne has written a lovely heartwarming, second chance romance, slow-burn, emotional rollercoaster of a novel, set in Texas

This was my first book by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I fell in love with the characters! This contemporary romance had a great western tone throughout with plenty of heartwarming moments as well as dramatic ones. I definitely felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster as I devoured this book. Once I picked it up and found my groove, I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting! The character development is truly fantastic and leads to the ease of experiencing the book right along with them. Jake is guarded, distant, and had been hurt deeply by his wife being unfaithful. Lexie was left at the altar and did little else except work. If you are looking for a lovely romance to tug at your heartstrings, this should be your next read! I can’t wait to see other work by this author.

This was a enjoyable read which kept me happily turning the pages. The heartwarming storyline had me hooked and I felt engaged with the likeable and relatable main characters. The story is set four years after Jake Holloway discovered that his wife had been unfaithful as she lay in a coma, she was also pregnant and Jake does not know if the child is his. Jake is now emotionally closed off and is definitely not going to risk his heart with another relationship. Lexie Morgan thought she was going to get her HEA but was left standing at the alter alone. Lexie decides to start a fresh and moves away from her old life, and this is where Jake and Lexie meet. Their instant attraction takes them both by surprise but they both try to ignore their feelings. However, when Lexie is forced to accept Jake’s help neither of them can deny their growing connection. When Lexie meets Katie, Jake’s shy four year old daughter she knows they are all meant to be together. Just as their relationship is developing their past traumas threaten their fragile bond, and they have to decide if opening up their hearts to love once more is worth the risk. This was an emotional read which kept me captivated throughout and I really felt the chemistry between Jake and Lexie. I enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout the story and I found having both their POV’s made me feel more invested in their romance. The characters and setting were brought to life by the descriptive narrative which made me feel immersed in the story. I recommend picking up this book!

This was a very heartwarming and at times heartbreaking western contemporary romance. The author does an incredible job with the characters and I love how it is told from both main characters points of view. The authors use of descriptions really brought the characters, their situation and feelings to life.
My heart was captivated by Jake and Lexie and I was gripped by their story right from the start. I wasnt able to stop reading.
Jake has had his heartbroken. Not only did he lose his wife but he also found out she was having affair. Since she passed Jake has taken on raising the baby but he is left with nagging doubts. Is the child actually his or the other man’s?
Not wanting to risk getting hurt again he keeps everyone at arms length including the little girl.

Lexie has had a bad time with romance too after she was left at the alter. Now she’s determined to move on and refocus on herself. The last thing she wants is romance but when fate plays it’s hand and she lands in the lap of a handsome man and his adorable daughter will she be strong enough to resist?

Neither Jake nor Lexie want romance but they can’t deny the instant attraction and connection and as Jake feels his heart slowly starting to mend because of Lexie will they both be brave enough to take the leap of faith, not only for themselves but for a little girl that wants to be loved?

My first book by this author and I am hooked. All the feels in this story.

“It humbled him to realize he’s spent so many years wallowing in his own pain and grief to see how he neglected his child. He saw to her basic needs, of course, but neglected the most essential one of all. The one he, himself, just realized was missing from his life. The need to know you are loved.”

Almost all of my reviews state this very thing. We all want to be loved, we all want to be accepted and valued and just plain loved.

Jake and Lexie are too cute with their beliefs about love and the things they want in life. Their situation is almost too good to be true. I was afraid something or someone would come along and try to ruin their inta-attraction. I am happy with the way this author handled things for these two and their loved ones.

Texas Winds is a fantastic clean, contemporary romance and I loved every page of this story. Angst, romance, heartwarming and heartbreak with the push and pull between two people…I loved this book so much. The story telling that Dana Wayne gives is tremendous…and feels so real.

When two hearts whom went through unimaginable heartbreak in the past with be able to find love? Lexie and Jake discover that love can heal and bring them together when they least expect it. Lexie is left at the alter and discovers she needs a fresh start. Taking a leave from work to get away is just what she needs to clear her head and figure out what she wants in life. Jake is still reeling from the death of his wife and raising his daughter on his own….and closing his heart off once and for all. When an unexpected chance as Lexie and Jake meet on circumstance…the instant spark is undeniable. With cautious hearts and a little girl to think about….Lexie and Jake embark on a chance to make this connection real and letting go of the past is not always easy.

This is a fantastic romance….I very highly recommend this book….I love the heart warming moments between Lexie, Jake and Katie (Jake’s daughter) along with Biscuit (Lexie’s dog).

Jake and Lexie’s story is so sweet and yet filled with angst and trepidation that you will be up into the wee hours of the night frantically turning the pages to see how it all plays out. I can’t say enough out this book and author…I’m literally putting her on my list of authors to binge read. While this isn’t the typical type of romance I like to read, I was sucked in and it was a nice change of pace. I can definitely see myself reading Wayne in-between my darker reads as a palate cleanser or when I’m just looking for something on the sweeter side. I loved the grumpy/sunshine trope that we get with Jake, the grumpy ranch owner who doesn’t really want to deal with his feelings of being a single father or how he feels instantly connected to Lexie and Lexie, the sunshine who has had some pretty cloudy days of her own, but is refusing to let that cloud her vacation to figure out what she really wants out of life. Through a series of happenstances, they are forced together (another favorite trope of mine) and there are twists and turns along the way that will squeeze and pull at your heartstrings. Throw in the adorable 4-year-old Katie who plays a major role in their relationship and you’ve got yourself a fantastic, slow-burn romance. I’m excited to go back and read Wayne’s other novels and to see what she has in store for us.

Jake Holloway thought his marriage was happy, but when his wife leaves and he finds out she is in a coma with a child that may or may not be his his confidence takes a hard hit. Four years later he is raising Katie as a single dad but he questions if he is doing his best. When he happens upon Lexie Morgan in a car crash, something shifts. He takes her in while she is injured and his feelings for her grow. Lexie feels the same way but she is there on vacation. Both want to be with one another but are they both willing to give each other the trust they need to build their forever?

I enjoyed this, fast paced and I really adored the daughter Katie. Lexie was a strong woman and I liked the fact that Jake and Lexie talk their feelings out and how it would effect the two of them and Katie. Will definitely be checking more out by this author.

Lexie’s vacation didn’t start as expected, but it ended just as it needed to. Jake happened to be in the right place at the right time not knowing just how much his life would change.
Texas Winds is an emotional contemporary romance. It has just enough of everything… fear, drama, uncertainty, love, family, and dysfunction. The story focuses on Jake and Lexie, but every reader knows Biscuit and Katie are the real stars of the story.

After being dumped at the altar, Alexa is at a cross roads in her life where she is questioning all decisions in her life. When her brother Bobby suggests she takes a vacation she jumps at the chance to try and sort her life out.

On her way to the cabin things go wrong which has her ending up in a ditch in the road, trying to get to her trusted company Biscuit she then falls an injures her ankle, while trying to come around a gruff cowboy helps her and eventually she lets him take her to his house at the end of lane so his sister can check her over. Alexa is at a loss when she starts having feelings for the widow but factor in his four year old daughter so is a gonna.

Jake is still grieving the loss of his wife four years ago, he is only existing but that is no life for his daughter to be raised, quiet and lost in her own world his family worry about the little girl. When driving home with Katie in the car he stumbles across an accident and decides to help the stranded woman but quickly realising it’s his friend sister, Alexa. Although he needs to help her feelings start awakening that he has not felt in ages or even with his late wife which is scaring hi,.

As her recovery continues he starts to see a difference in his daughter Katie and within his self, hoping that something can happen with Lexie and will be able to mend a broken heart and live a life of love again.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a beautiful read. The story was lovely and uplifting with the interactions between the main characters brilliant and will put together. I also loved the interaction between Lexie and Katie and watching the little girl open up and blossom was a lovely thing to read.

The secondary characters added to the story and the twist in the end was a lovely thing to put the icing on the cake and wrap the story up nicely. Showing the vulnerable side to Jake was interesting I always love a softie at heart. I do hope some of the characters get a book, it would be especially nice to see Sean get his happy ever after.

I can’t wait to read more in the future.

Texas Winds by Dana Winds is a wonderfully written heartfelt book about second chances at love. Alexa “Lexi” left at the alter by a man that she wasn’t even to sure she even loved. Jake, burned terribly by his high school sweetheart wife, meet by chance with a blown tire and feral hog. Now she is stuck and Jake has become her saving grace in more ways than one. Then she meets Katie, Jakes daughter and she is taken with her as well. Both have been hurt and when Jakes past comes around again, they both need to figure out what they want and If that includes a future together.
This book simply was an amazing read set in the Hills country of Texas. The author gave us amazing characters that readers can really understand and picture as they read. The ranch, simply beautiful, and I could close my eyes and just see it. This book gives you love, loss, heartbreak, and growth. I highly recommend this book!

Sometimes second chance loves are often better than the first. Texas Winds totally blew me away (pun intended)! Dana Wayne is a first time author for me so I was unsure what to expect. But, the amazing attraction and slow-burn romance to an all-out inferno between Jake and Lexie was just what I needed! The beautiful Texas ranch, complete with wooded land and cabins on the lake create a breathtaking backdrop to this well-written story. Jake, Lexie, Katie and many other characters are realistic, flawed, believable, and oh-so-lovable. I couldn’t help but feel connected to the characters and found myself cheering for the romance between Lexie and Jake. And Biscuit just makes the whole book that much better! The city dog who loves being a ranch dog! There is love, romance, drama, heartache, loss, guilt, and so much more in this book that it kept me on my toes and reading well past bedtime. This is definitely not the last time I pick up a book by Dana Wayne!

Texas Winds by Dana Wayne is a contemporary western romance with all the ingredients that kept me turning the pages, reading well past my bedtime, just so I could find out how it all played out in the end.
The story is an angsty and emotional read- with family drama/dynamics, some suspense, tension, action, pain, grief, touches of humour & heartwarming moments which help to balance out the more complex elements, new beginnings, and endearing characters.
I really felt for these characters and what they had/were going through. Ms. Wayne certainly knows how to tug on heartstrings, as well as craft some more gritty moments that added an extra element of intrigue to the storyline.

Happy Reading!

Texas Winds is a sweet romance. One I thoroughly enjoyed. The author presents are dark world emotionally for these characters that develops into something wonderful throughout the story. Of course no story is left without a little drama, which the author placed beautifully.
Two broken souls aimlessly going through the motions of life. Jake’s wife was leaving him but she never got the chance. However leaving a child behind that he questioned paternity is what he received. Jake being the standup guy realized the child doesn’t deserve what his late wife did to him so he’s raising her as if everything was fine between them. However he’s distant from his daughter, not that he realizes it. It takes Lexie blowing into his life to realize it.
Lexie was embarrassed and left at the altar by her fiancée. And in turn what she did, she threw herself into work. Doing a job that didn’t necessarily make her happy but fear that she would disappoint her dad if she went a different direction. Deciding to take a vacation isn’t something she does. So when it starts out a disaster why would she ever want to take one again.
Jake, Lexie, and Katie grow together throughout this story. But nothing is all sunshine and roses and the past threatens the growing bond between them.
Again it’s a sweet second chance at happiness and love story. Have I read stories like this before? Yeah, however this one hits differently. You feel empathy for the characters and what they’ve been through. Which isn’t that exactly what we are all looking for in a good book? I know I am.
So I encourage you to take a chance, you won’t be disappointed.

Emotionally delightful romance with a taste of steam. Endearing characters that deserve the HEA.

Alexa “Lexie” needed a change in her life. She just got stood up at the altar by a man she is not sure she loved. She started with something small that made a difference to her. Alexa had always been known as Alex but she wasn’t her anymore. Only one person called her Lexie but it was enough. Now if she could just figure out the rest of her world.

Jake had been burned. He was in love with his high school sweetheart who one day told him that she didn’t love him anymore and that there was someone else in her life. When tragedy happened and she wound up in a coma serving as an incubator of the precious life she was growing, Jake’s heart grew cold. There were so many questions left unanswered. Jake had to shake it off and be a father to that tiny little bundle that played no part in hurting him.

Lexie was on her way to a 2-week vacation when a blown tire, a feral hog and a rainstorm changed everything. Jake was her saving grace, helping her out of the mud. Now she was stuck, sort of, with Jake taking care of her and her dog, Biscuit. The only problem was the intense attraction she felt towards Jake and his adorable daughter, Katie.

As Jake’s past came back to bite him in the caboose, Lexie was figuring out what she wanted. Jake couldn’t fight the growing attraction to Lexie. Lexie and Jake managed to work through the pain of the past together with plans of making a future, also together.

Texas Winds by Dana Wayne. This is such a good contemporary romance. Its the story of Lexi who is a strong willed woman trying to put her past behind her. Being left at the altar has left her very skittish and scared. Jake is a handsome, rugged cowboy who is very stand offish. He has a young daughter that he takes care of but Jakes has is own crosses to bear. He found out his wife was cheating on him when she was pregnant and in a coma. Never coming out of a coma his wife passed leaving Jake with a ton of unanswered questions. Raising a daughter alone was never in the plans but he’s doing the best he can. When Lexi falls in love with Jake’s daughter she slowly falls in love with him too. Jake is struggling with his feelings as well. Will they be able to work thru their past and trust each other. Such a good romance!

Lexie and Jake’s story is so sweet and heartwarming. Jake learns to let love back in and trust again. Poor Lexie is what some of us call a “hot mess.” Oh, the accident, I almost cried for her. Stupid feral hogs. Biscuit and Katie were such terrific supporting characters to the story. Katie basically showed both of them that love is possible. I found myself feeling this story. It was hard not too. This author writes so that you feel like you are experiencing the story with the characters. I was in it right from the start. A heartwarming story that showed the challenges and that love is worth it. You can find happiness again. This a definite must read.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to more books by her. I read on my kindle and took it everywhere with me until I finished it.

Alex’s fiance left her standing at the alter and then he texted her Mom to say that he wouldn’t be at the wedding. She left town for a vacation and headed to a cabin that her brother got for her.

Jake’s wife Mary passed away four years ago. She had an accident and died from her injuries and he never told his family or friends that his wife had asked him for a divorce. He didn’t even know she was pregnant until they told him at the hospital.

Can Alex or Jake survive their past and find true love or will they each go on the way they have been. Read the story and see. I think you will fall in love with the characters in this book as much as I did.

Anyone who lives in Texas knows about the Texas Winds.

Those Texas Winds can flutter as softly as a butterfly’s wings or batter whatever is in its path like a tornado or hurricane.

Texas Winds also signal change…which is exactly what Lexie wanted and what Jake didn’t know he needed.

The circumstances and later obstacles presenting themselves before Lexie and Jake blew the fields from calm to chaos.

The author presents exquisite visuals as well. The imagery is amazing.

I won’t tell you how it ends…read on to find out yourself.

It’s a 4⭐️ contemporary romance.
