Sinful Vow was SUCH a great story!! I am new to the mafia genre but this book had me hooked. Steamy, exciting, & suspenseful it grabs your attention! I could not help but fall in love with Luca. Such intensity! He is loyal to a fault and his own dark version of a white knight. And Ally is a wonderful heroine! She is strong, brave, and driven. When these two clash it is sinfully steamy!!
This book was surprisingly well thought out and a joy to read. The characters were interesting and I enjoyed the authors use of wordplay and description to suck the reader in. As a romance novel goes , this one hit every nail on the head. Bravo!
This is my first delve into the mafia romance genre. What was I waiting for? I’m so grateful that I chose this talented author to take me along for the ride. This book had me hooked from chapter one. I love that we get to grow up with these characters, even briefly. It gives the sense that you can understand how they are the way they are. Life can do that to you, especially living the life they have. This book was exciting, intriguing, sexy, and with a strong male AND female lead. I strongly suggest this book and series!
Talk about an amazing book I read this book in two nights only because I had work 😂 I wish I could grow up and be Aly and my own Luca. I hate the things Aly went through but she is amazing, strong. Determined even…. And to have her own business like she does is amazing… the characters are thought out in this book and I can’t wait to read more in the series!!!!

Luca Rossi is Aly Mancini’s family’s biggest rival in the Italian Mafia. But Aly is not really part of that world. Thank god her mother kept her away from that growing up. Even though Luca should stay away from Aly, he can’t seem to follow that rule and is always lurking when she needs him to protect her. Aly is a grown adult and no longer needs protecting, she can do that all on her own. But can she really? When the tension between Rossi and Mancini families starts to deepen, is there anything that could cause them to call a truce? Murder, blood, fights, loyalty, and true love are some of the components you will find in the pages of this book. Once I picked this book up I could not put it down. I loved the push and pull of Luca and Aly’s relationship. It kept me on the edge of my seat and even tears in my eyes at some points. This is a true Romeo and Juliet story.
Luca and Aly were such a sweet couple. The chemistry and connection they shared could not be ignored, and on Luca’s end would not be denied.
Luca lost his innocence as a young child being neglected and moved foster home to foster home, but being taken in by Rossi family was that light in the dark for him. Luca was immensely loyal, and as the heir to the Rossi family he was also ruthless and cold when needed. Knowing each other since they were kids there was a great deal of history with Luca and Aly. Luca was always protective and possessive of Aly, and he always knew when she needed him. However Luca being a Rossi and Aly a Mancini they were sworn enemies, and truly a Romeo and Juliet in the making. When Luca takes Aly as his own on her arranged wedding day its a declaration of war for the families. As the story unfolds there are many twists that were not foreseen along with a great deal of drama, romance, and betrayal. This story was a good one, and a great way to start the series. I am eager for what’s next.

This was the firs book I have read from this author. I usually don’t read this type of book, but I thought I would read it because I do enjoy reading mafia books. And this book did not disappoint. It was very well written and kept me interested the whole way thou that I finished it in a day. I was captivated by the story line and the characters in the book that I couldn’t stop reading it. The chemistry between Aly and Luca was intense and even thou they’re families are sworn enemies they still didn’t care and wanted to be together. This book was dark, action-packed, tragic, steamy, on your edge of your seat read. I really hope that there will be more books to this story.

This was a really good book. This was a quick, steamy and violent book. This is an enemies to lovers, mafia romance. This book was enthralling and entertaining and had a good storyline. However I had a bit of a hard time getting into it because at times it seemed like the timeline would get messed up, or wouldn’t be made clear, and I just felt like there could have been some more filler scenes and information to make it easier to digest. I overall really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next installment. Just be warned this is a dark romance, with explicit scenes and violence.
Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins series. I have read book 2, and didn’t even realize this was from the same series until the very end. So clearly, I like this series, and now I want to read them all. They don’t have to be read in order, and can be enjoyed as stand alone. I was back and forth on if I wanted to read this book- I didn’t like the idea of Luca “stealing” Aly, but I love reading Mafia romance books. I am glad I took the chance, because it wasn’t as gruesome and awful of an event as it sounds. I really liked the development of the characters, and their relationship. I don’t want to give things away, but there is more to the story than the brief description lets on. While Luca is a mobster, killer, criminal, etc, he is also kind of sweet. Aly is strong and I love the life she built for herself. Highly recommend this book (and series) and can’t wait to get the next book in my hands.

This is the first book in the Dark Mafia series and man is it good. Luca steals Aly the night before her arranged marriage. He always wanted her and now he has her. Now their 2 families are close to war. Can Luca and Aly get past all the obstacles and find their own happiness?
What an introduction to this series. The sparks started the moment they met and worked their way up into a very hot and volatile relationship.
I have had some nights recently it was hard to sleep so I decided to read, huge mistake. Instead of helping my quiet down enough to sleep I got sucked in and had a hard time putting it down.
There was something intriguing about Luca from the very beginning and the more I learned about him the more intrigued I was.
I have had the pleasure of reading this author before and look forward to getting caught up on this series.

This author has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This mafia romance series has quickly become one of my favorite series and I simply can’t wait for out author to give us more. This story was filled with drama, angst, enemies to lovers, and so much more that I devoured it in one sitting. Luca is the perfect leading man with his hight, brilliant blue eyes, and his sexy smile. While Aly is smart and strong, and while she is the illegitimate child of the Mancini family she is still watched and protected by her father. What happens when these two enemies become lovers? You’ll have to read this story to find out for yourself.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked the way the book switched back and forth between the main characters and I enjoyed that because it was the first book we got quite a bit of background info on the characters before we got to dive into the story. The twists in the storyline kept my attention and kept me wanting to keep reading. I found it hard to put the book down and read it quickly in just two sittings. This was the first book I had read by this author, and it will not be my last. I am hooked on this series now and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

In the past I’ve avoided books like this because I was worried they focused more on the spice and less on the plot. This book definitely proved me wrong! It was a page turner from the start and driven by a very interesting storyline. The spice added to the story and didn’t feel distracting or forced. I will be adding more of this author’s work to be To Be Read list!

Aly and Luca are meant to be. I love how this story starts from the time that Aly and Luca are young teens and follows them and their special connection until adulthood. From the moment they lay eyes on each other the connection is there pulling them towards each other no matter how much they may want to fight it. The chemistry between them is incredible and it made me swoon watching them grow closer but it is also heartbreaking seeing the misunderstandings that come between them. There is danger, action and so much shocking betrayal that they must face together. There are so many twists in this story that I just didn’t see coming. This is such a good story I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The author has once again proved that she is good at what she does. Sinful Vow is the first book in the Dark Mafia Sins Series.
Luca is the adoptive son of the Rossi’s and he’s looking for revenge. When a meek girl catches him leaving a warehouse after shooting someone he becomes intrigued. He feels it deep in his chest when she’s in trouble and races to save her each time. The quote I chose for Luca is: “It’s not to keep you a prisoner but to keep you safe. I have some work still to do, but I will be coming to bed tonight. We might as well get used to sleeping in the same bed, as we will be doing that for the rest of our lives.”
Aly is the only daughter of her father, but isn’t involved with the family. She is well protected, but she’s also looked down on because she’s a child from the mistress. When she is arranged to marry someone her saviour comes to the rescue. The quote I chose for Aly is: “I’m sorry for everything, Luca. I don’t know why I accepted the poison from my father. You have to believe me that I would never use it to hurt you or anyone in your family. You have to believe me that I love you.”
Push pull push pull, that’s the best way to explain the dynamic between Aly and Luca! Sinful Vow flirts with the Romeo & Juliet Themes. Mafia families that are at war with each other. An outcast of a daughter from one and an adopted son from another will never admit their true desires for each other. I love how Luca shows his colors early that he cares though Aly doesn’t realize it. He’s always watching and looking out for her. He may be mean and standoffish to make her feel otherwise but he cares. Does matter if she’s the enemy’s estranged daughter. Till one day tragedy strikes and dear old dad decides to marry her off. Luca can’t have that so he goes all in for what’s his. Does it work out? Does it make the war worse? How does dear old dad react? You will have to just check it out. Well written and good character development, will cause you to get sucked in.
Wow where to start with this story. It is action packed adventure, steamy romance and a story of two enemies turned lovers. The author does an amazing job with the characters making them so believable. The literally jump from the book and you go through a rollercoaster of emotions between loving and hating them.
Luca is part of the Rossi family. They are a big Mafia family whos main goal is to survive and keep their enemies away. Luca’s whole life revolves around protecting his family and destroying the rival family. Aly is the daughter of the rival family. When Luca sees her as a way to destroy her family he kidnaps her to make her his bride.
What neither of them expected was to actually fall in love. What follows is a story of enemies that become lovers despite all the things telling them that they can’t be that way. Will the families call a truce and embrace this couples love? Or will it start a war that neither family can will be everyone can lose?
The mafia genre is not one of my comfort zone reads. With that said, I did enjoy this book. I liked the protective nature of Luca and Aly’s fierce independence. I thought the back and forth between the families was confusing at times but that could also be due to not being used to this particular genre.

Luca and Aly were an unexpected couple but I think they are so great together! I don’t want to give away too many details of the story because it’s just that good!
Aly is tough. She’s had to be. She gives as good as she gets. Luca is your typical alpha mafia guy. I really liked them together even with the events of the story. I really enjoyed the whole book!
Luca Rossi and Aly Mancini are from two rival families they so they typically shouldn’t be together! Luca sets out to have Aly as his own in order to get back at her father but soon realises that might not be the only reason she is all he can focus on. No path to love is going to be easy for them and in this book that is so true. You are kept on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen not only for this couple but also for those around them. From the first word to the very last there was always something happening in this action packed, dark steamy romance.

First time book reviewer here! Sinful Vow by Emily Bowie was a great read. I am a fast reader, but I was shocked at just how fast I devoured this book! I love strong characters and that is what you get with Luca and Aly. I was instantly hooked! I would recommend this book to any fan of romantic fiction. I hope there is more to come with their love story!

Sinful Vow is Book #1 in Dark Mafia Sins series by Emily Bowie. It is a dark contemporary romance with an enemies to lovers element, mafia politics, danger, drama, tension, suspense, action, angst, emotion, banter, and family rivalry- all wrapped up into a bit of an intense and gritty read. I am loving this series, even though I came into it a little backwards by reading book two first, but luckily the stories read well as standalones. I enjoyed this story. Sat down and read it one sitting. I liked both main characters…and Luca’s right hand man is a fun character, too! There are some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and kept the story interesting. Overall, an entertaining read that kept me turning the pages. There is hinting at the end at what the next story might be…and I am looking forward to it.
I never thought of myself as a Mafia themed reader but this is the second series and this was another that did not disappoint. Aly and Luca both have a troubled childhoods that led them to paths niether pictured themselves in. The start of the book was a little slow and jumpy. I was hoping for a little more background of Aly and Luca as it started the book in the last jumping to different points in their lives. Each time frame gave a brief history and encounter. However, the build up and ending make up for the slow start. I wouldn’t mind following Aly and Luca further to see where their lives take them.
I will forever be a fan of smut. I felt like I read this story before but without the spice. I enjoyed that it was a quick and exciting. Just enough thrill and spice to keep me turning the page. Oh the MC is one I will be thinking of for awhile. A very vivid picture was made with this author and that really set the story apart. I am so happy this is a series because I need to know what happens next. This book is what I needed to get out of a slump. If you are a fan of mafia and family feuds, love and spice, This is it. I have never heard of this author before that was refreshing because it is very well written and entertaining.
This is the first book in the Dark Mafia series and is 198 pages in length. This story follows Luca and Aly. Their families are rivals. Luca has been there for Aly and has always wanted her for himself. Aly cares about Luca and can depend on him. The problem starts when Aly’s father arranges for her to get married to someone else. This drives Luca to take matters into his own hands and now the families are on the verge of war. Luca and Aly have a complicated paste – but can they have a future?
Talk about edge of my seat! This story was exploding in suspense and action. I loved the chemistry sizzling off the pages between Luca and Aly, Luca being such a intense consuming character against Aly’s sweet yet strong persona. A very raw, dark and emotional romance, sit down and enjoy the ride because I can guarantee you wont be able to put this book down.
Wow what more can I say. I like to delve into mafia romances every now and then and this one was not what I expected. I as not disappointed. I like how the author builds up the drama in this book and the chemistry between the characters is really dynamic. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was gonna happen next. I like how the author outlines each characters life to start with and how they became entwined.
I like how the characters are realistic. I also like how I was drawn into the book and felt as though I was right there with the action. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series. Reviewed by @caraleeloonat

I found a new author to love! I loved this book it was great and hooked me from the beginning and kept my interest throughout. I read this so fast! So much action, suspense and romance. I really rooted for the characters. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for is throughout the rest of the series!
