Luke Williams is determined to live her life on her terms. She has left her family behind and has forged her way in life. Afraid of giving in to another, she leaves the man she won’t admit to loving in the middle of the night.
Nikolai Bazenhov, a made man in his family’s business, knows where Luke is. He’s been keeping tabs on her since the night she left him.
When Luke finds herself in a dangerous situation, she has to give in to her stubbornness and trust the same man she left a year prior.
These characters have a lot to offer each other if they can reconcile their past histories. This novel is full of steamy romance, dark situations and it was truly and enjoyable read.

This story follows Luke, a strong, independent woman whose fear of love lands her back in Seattle in a dangerous position, and Nikolai, member of Seattle’s biggest mafia family with a sole purpose of protecting Luke to show her how he feels about her. I recommend this book because, whilst this story is still in the editing process, it has so much potential; the storyline is gripping, the characters are strong – I particularly love Luke’s character, a woman who is independent and does not rely on men, but also a woman who loves her makeup and nice clothes and high heels and feeling sexy – the book is steamy, and I am a sucker for a happy ending. I’m looking forward to reading more of Brooke May and watching her grow in the industry. “You’ve been mine from the first glance.”

Man, this is an intense book. Dark mafia and it turned great. This was the first for this author and I’m a fan. I hope she’ll do more. Luke and Nik’s story is powerful and a true story to love and letting those walls down. They both have intense issues. Can Luke let hers down to claim that love? Powerfully written, you are pulled write in from the beginning. Luke is tough and vulnerable when she feels safe enough to let her guard down. The plot of the story was amazing and so well-done. I would love to see move of these characters. Definitely a story I would recommend.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fourth book in the series, follows Romano and Raven, a vampire and a witch who are meant to be sworn enemies, when their paths cross. Neither can deny their attraction and fascination to the other, nor do they want to, when things take a twist and Raven is put in between following her upbringing or her heart. The choice is easy for her; Romano however is already on thin ice due to how his past dealings as a master look to the rest of the Consulate, But his question is can he have both. Or does he have to choose one?

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells – Review by

The TraitorThe Traitor by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great second installment in the series. FMM romance lovers rejoice.

4.5/5 stars rounded up.

The second book, of three, in a series. I wouldn’t recommend reading these books out of order because they’re on a continuous timeline and this book refers to the book before which could spoil major things.

This novel does have frequent talk and scenes of male bisexuality and FMM romance so if you enjoy that or want to get a taste of it this book/series is for you! Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 (and believable too!)

I have a love dislike relationship with Knox. I loved many aspects about him but I disliked some of the decision he made and how he seemed to make his life harder, not better, at times. I understood the decisions but I was happy to see his character growth by the end. And let’s face it, the author wrote him well to give us the drama to keep us engaged and reading until the conclusion.

I liked a lot about Josie but I found her stubbornness to be both endearing (I do love a strong independent woman) and frustrating as she was being strong about certain things for all the wrong reasons. I was glad when she came to this realization herself. I loved that she found her passion in cooking and baking and got to share that with Knox and Gage.

Here, we see Gage a year after the events of book 1 and we can already see him having grown from that experience. Sometimes it’s hard not to fall back on bad habits though.

Despite not always enjoying the personality traits or the character’s decisions at the time I thoroughly enjoyed the story and cannot wait to read book 3. Please do read and enjoy this series if you enjoy FMM romance, darker romances, and characters who grow and learn from their mistakes.

TW: talk of past human trafficking involvement, fighting, murder, domestic abuse, self-neglect

Wonderful start to a FMM romance series. Darker romance vibes from this one.

4.5 Stars rounded up.

The first book in a set of three about three men who are trying to overcome their pasts and happen to find love along the way.

The stories in this series do include scenes of MMF romance with tons of heat, so if you like that then this series is for you!

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 (and believable too!)

I really liked Tessa as a FMC. She’s a headstrong woman who has put herself through medical school and cares about helping others. The tension between her and Locke was there from the beginning and continued to build. I also love Gage, and his propensity to bring some lightness, laughter, and heat, to the page.

I also liked getting Locke, Gage, and Knox’s overall backstory and knowing how they became the men they are today.

The main storyline aside from the romance is Locke, Gage and Tessa working behind the scenes to bring down a human trafficking kingpin and save others. I enjoyed how well the author wrote this aspect, giving enough details to get the point across without taking away from the characters growth and personal relationship.

The writing was very well done and the storyline was fast paced. Highly recommend.

TW: kidnapping, human trafficking, violence, false imprisonment, fighting, and abuse

This was a hot one to read! Much like the first book in the serious, it is a M/F/M story with lots of steaminess. However, you do not need to read the first one to read this one. It could be read as a standalone. Both Spencer and Josie bring their own stories to the table making the read enjoyable as you watch their worlds join in a passionate way with Gage. I would absolutely recommend reading this one!

This was a great read! I was hesitant at first given that it starts off with the doctor saving a girl from what seems to be an underground trafficking situation. However, the story takes off pretty quickly and doesn’t slow down. While there is plenty of spice happening there is also a deeper story to unravel. It may have been a short and quick read, but it was jam packed with intensity!

This is the second installment in this series, and it was even better then the first. While both of these books can be read as stand alones, their both good so i would definitely recommend reading both if you get the chance. The characters in this one are fantastic, the plot has enough action to really make your mind think, and the overall story as great. The main characters were my favorite they were funny, sweet, romantic and so much more. So if your looking for a short adventurous read pick this one up today.

This book is the first that i have read from this author and while I was highly intrigued it did leave me wanting just a little bit more background and character development. Tessa is our main character and I really loved her but I would have loved her even more with just a little more back story. However there is plenty of action and suspense to keep the readers on their toes. So all in all this was a pretty good read and it would be a great choice to get out of a reading slump.

This is book two in the trilogy and all I can say is she definitely keeps the embers burning in this one because it is hot!!! The m/m/f action had me tearing through this story fast. You don’t have to read the first in the trilogy to enjoy this book although I would recommend it to get the full experience. The characters are rich and complex, and the story delivers beyond just the erotic scenes. India Kell’s delivers once again.

This is the first book in the trilogy and oh boy what a start. It’s erotic and has all the m/m/f action I didn’t realize I was even looking for. Locke and Gage are drool worthy in every way and the honorable/bad boy thing they have going is hot as hell. This is the second installment in this series, and I can honestly say, I am so hooked. I thought I would be dipping my toes in with these novels, but honestly, it’s as though I ran the length of the dock and jumped right into the cold water. At least, that’s what these novels make me feel I need to do, to really cool down. Just when I thought things couldn’t get any hotter, the words seem to sizzle off the pages of the story revolving around Josie and Knox. I can relate to Josie and her story, her fear of her ex and unsure as to how to feel about herself as she runs herself ragged trying to keep up her end of the bargain and trying to eject herself completely from her husband Kenneth and his hold on her.

Along comes Knox, who is enchanted by Josie from the start, and refers to her as his lady of the lake. Having moved from the city and his life after getting out of the underground, to the small town of Landston, he has made several life changes and prefers his solitude over companionship, though it’s apparent to the reader that that won’t be enough for long. It’s an intriguing plot line, and I encourage anyone who has yet to read this authors work, to do so! I especially enjoyed hearing more about the world from which these lads rose from, in this installment, and look forward to finally hearing the story of Gage next. Another loud praise from this reader!

This was a new one to me, the idea of reading a sexually charged novel always piques my interest, but this was a different sort of charge all together. I can tell you that I made the mistake of trying to read some of this novel in the backseat while my in-laws were driving, and I turned several shades of red, but couldn’t stop. This author allows the reader to completely (or mostly) let go of the inhibitions and go on this erotic ride with what must be some of the sexiest characters that exist in the literary world. Locke is a stubborn man, as would be expected, and the connection/friendship he shares with Gage is to die for, chosen family and more.

The ability to have us get to know the characters in their own worlds, and their personality traits and issues before getting the sexual adventures underway was a well thought out method to draw the reader in and allowing us to feel like we aren’t peeping into a strangers fantasies. One of my favorite tidbits is that the women portrayed in the writing aren’t the fit, thin, super confident women we usually read about in romance novels, rather, they are average (albeit beautiful) women that have self-esteem issues or their own discomforts/self-doubts. Being one of these women, it allowed me to really connect with Tessa, who seemingly has her head screwed on straight, her professional life being the best it can be, yet, missing something in her personal life. Amazing! Currently reading the rest of the series, and very much looking forward to all the good goosebumps to come, highly recommend!

Tessa is a doctor that gets swept up in an underground sex trade that leaves her head spinning. Locke sweeps in and rescues her just in the nick of time and she stays with him to pay off the debt that he incurred by taking her off the sex slave circuit. His friend Gage ends up popping in to get patched up by the fierce independent doctor and she finds herself getting swept up in some really hot sex with the both of them. She starts to develop deeper feelings for Locke but she doesn’t think he cares for her. There are some rough obstacles they have to face if they’re going to make their relationship work. I really loved this book. It had action, heat and romance and an amazing ending. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

Broken Chains by Karina Kantas

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This is for 18+ because it’s a detailed sexual violence book. Broken Chains is a great read.

Liz is a wanna be author and it doesn’t end well for her. She soon changes her mind and goes to school. She is approached with a job offer. The quote I chose for Liz is: “Hey. Where are you? I’ve been waiting ten minutes. Oh, I see. Okay. No- don’t worry. I’ll catch up with you later. Sounds like fun but I can’t make it, something’s come up. You know how it is. No, don’t change your plans. I’ll sort something out. Okay. Yeah, see you soon. Bye.”

Alex is part of the M15 and is watching Liz. They bring her in because they are suspicious of what she is watching them for. He soon finds himself falling for her, but is it too late? The quote I chose for Alex is: “No, it means you’ll be drafting documents, organising meetings and so forth. You’ll learn the ropes, and if you work hard and prove yourself, which I know you will, you’ll move up the ranks.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romance lovers.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson

This is not the first book by Nelson that I’ve read. It’s also not the first Diamond Doms novel I’ve read. The Diamond Doms Series can be read as standalones or in order.

Russell had one job to do and that was to keep Holly and her friend Gemma safe. Then her husband comes up dead and they aren’t sure why. Russell starts to have feelings for Gemma. The quote I chose for Russell is: “I’m sorry, Gemma. I won’t call you that again. If you’ll excuse me, I’ve left someone waiting.”

Gemma is wanting out of the marriage. Then he shows up dead and Russell is the one who told her. She has feelings for Russell, but isn’t exactly sure what his feelings are for her. The quote I chose for Gemma is: “No. Idiot. I’m saying our marriage is not the traditional love story. We aren’t in love, we don’t have sex, and we will never have children. In fact, before our lives blew up, we were on the path to lining things up for a divorce. Enough time had passed that it wouldn’t harm either family.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romance lovers.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson- Review by Barbara Bohls

Forever (Diamond Doms #9)Forever by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is the conclusion to the Diamond Does series by Ivy Nelson. She has outdone herself with this book. She maintains the deep development of characters like she has done in previous books. This means that you fall in love with the characters and as they grow throughout the book so does your relationship with them. You can’t help but feel everything that they feel. There is suspense, action, romance, and very steamy steamy scenes. You will find yourself going on the adventure that her characters take in this book. You will find yourself talking out loud to the book because you just can’t help but add your own two cents about the situations that these characters get into. If you’ve read the whole series, you will see some characters that you recognize and it is nice to see where they are at in this story.

Gemma and Russel seem to be fighting everything around them and fighting for their relationship at the same time. We watch as Russel goes from protector to lover to protector and back to lover. It is nice seeing the rough edges thaw a little when Gemma is around. Gemma maintains her fiercely strong self worth throughout the book. She doesn’t like to show weakness and feels conflicted when her guard is down and those weaknesses are shown. The struggle that these characters go through are struggles that could happen in everyday life. No, I am not talking about the suspense part of the book but ore their moral struggles or self imposed lines they won’t cross.

This book has tons of steam. If you have some triggers about masochism and sadism, please be advise that this book is nothing but that type of BDSM relationship and take caution when deciding if to read it. If you don’t have any triggers this book is amazing!!! You will love the suspense, action, character development, and obviously the steam.

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 5) by India Kells – Review by Char Wahtomy-Alba

He mistakenly puts in the wrong number while trying to reach his brother on New Year’s Eve and hears someone on the other end who is going through the motions just like him. Even though he doesn’t know her background or her name he feels like he has found a kindred spirit and wants to find out more about her. If it hadn’t been for that stranger calling in the nick of time she may have gone through with her plan. Maybe Sam can help her out of her darkness? Or they can save each other? Will Sam lose the woman he has fallen in love with or will he and his brothers finally be able to best the monster they call father?

The Dark Sparrow series by India Kells is amazing. Every time I see a book with her name on it I don’t hesitate to pick it up without reading the blurb. Any one of these books could be read as a stand alone, but I feel that they are best read together and in order.

Hawke (Men of Syn Book 1) by Anise Storm

This is the first book I’ve read by Storm. Hawke had me hooked from the beginning. Hawke is the first book in the Men of Syn Series.

Hawke is opening a club in Denver. He has a party planning company plan his grand opening. When he realizes who she is, things change drastically. The quote I chose for Hawke is: “I don’t want you, Charlotte. I never did, but it doesn’t change anything. You’re ingrained so deep under my skin that no matter what I do to you, I can’t get you out from beneath it.”

Charlotte goes to meet her new client and thinks he looks familiar. When she realizes who he is she has to decide if she wants to work with him or not. The quote I chose for Charlotte is: “Have you ever met someone who could push all of your buttons? If so, that would be Haeke. He’s so damn arrogant. I just want to knock the smirk right off his face. The problem is he has the uncanny ability to neutralize me with a single kiss.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romance lovers.

Madeline Fay just got herself a new fan!!!
Spiteful Punks is the best book I’ve read in the last two years….. what does that mean…. well out of the 86 books I’ve read since January 2020 this is my favorite.
It’s DARK!!! GUT WRENCHING!!! NAIL BITING!!! TWISTED!!!! AND OOOOO SO SEXY!!!
I’m a huge fan of Dark Romance (The darker the better) and I just can’t put into words how much I loved this book.
The characters are expertly crafted especially Tillie, her multi layered character is absolutely perfect. She’s vulnerable but still strong with some sassy comebacks but most of all she’s a SURVIVOR!!!
I can’t wait to read the next book.
But be warned this book does have some heavy triggers!!!
