I enjoyed Tangled Roots by Denise D Young. It was an interesting story and I really liked the characters she created. The story centers around Cassie and Nick. It is the journey they go through to finding each other and love. There is magic and an evil that must be fought. This novel was the first in a series and I am looking forward to reading more.

Young – Review by Cindy Rushin
Forced to take extreme measures to ensure her own freedom, witch Cassie Gearhart’s spell changes the course of her future. One minute she’s in 1974, the next she wakes and it’s 2019 and everything she once knew has changed. Inexplicably drawn to the only witch left in Willow Creek, and incidentally, the grandson of her mentor, Cassie and Nick have to navigate the chemistry between them while also dealing with an urgent matter. It’s hard enough to deal with forty-five years of change, but on top of that add the mystery of the magic Cassie and Nick are feeling and that of the mystery of the magic that stole the coven of Willow Creek and you have Tangled Roots. This is a quick read that brings you into the world of magic and a promising new series of a small-town coven.

This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. The writing is really easy to read and the story has a really good flow. The mix of time travel, witches and romance was very well executed. The characters were relatable and the world building good. The ending felt a bit rushed but came to a natural conclusion. No cliffhanger but the world has been developed to continue with side characters into book 2.

Tangled Roots (Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic Book 1) by Denise D. Young will delight the senses of paranormal lovers. The intrigue was so great that I had to go back and start at the beginning as I inadvertently started with Tangled Fates which is the second book in this series. So, from the beginning and the first book Tangled Roots is a great paranormal tale that is a fantastic start to this series. This story tells of one Witch who finds herself lost in another time knowing there is danger on its way. What is the old saying “be careful of what you weave?” Well apparently, this Witch wove her magic, and it went wrong. With witches and magic, drama, and romance. This short story kept me glued to the pages. I cannot wait to see what Denise gives us next. Reviewed by @jennadb

Cassie and Nick find love in an unexpected place… each other. Cassie is from 40 years in the past from the same coven as Nick. When she arrives they think all is lost. Each chapter brings a new challenge. Great series, a real page-turner.

Cassie is a witch and loves using her air magic. Her brother hates her and her parents want to lock her away. After graduation Cassie runs away to New York but ends up in Willow Creek. Cassie is welcomed by a coven and feels the love of family for the first time. She is still being hunted by her brother who wants to drag her home. She will do anything for that not to happen and she does. Watch what you wish for. This was a great story and a quick easy read. I want to read more of the continuing story of Cassie and Nick who are destined to be together.

Fun paranormal read. I really enjoyed this book, the characters were easy to fall in love with and the story was interesting. There are many different connections between the different characters and the author introduced the connections seamlessly, everything flowed so nicely. I don’t know how I would feel if I were Cassie, living in 1974, then after being put under a spell wake up 45 years later. It is nice that she finds Nick and their connection is cemented and their relationship starts to bloom. The reason why Cassie shows up the year she does after being “asleep” for so many years is a nice twist to the story. It seems she is there to help Nick solve the reason why his Grandma and mother have gone, and then with the way his brother Evan played a role in everything, I was completely lost in the story. I can’t wait to see what happens next with these characters and their adventure.

5 Star Tangled Roots (Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic Series Book 1) by Denise D. Young
Tangled Roots is the first book in the Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic series by Denise D.Young. I truly enjoyed reading this fast paced Paranormal romance that one you start you won’t want to put it down till you finish. This is a story about Cassie who is a witch that’s running from her family. She casted a spell in 1974 and wakes forty-five years later and its 2019 and the spell is the last thing she remembers. Nick’s the only other witch in this small town and when these two get around each other there is definitely some passion there. Can they find the Coven? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Denise did a fantastic job getting this story started. I have always been a fan of stories about people out of time. Add in magic, a coven, and a story with ENORMOUS potential for growth?! I’m hooked. I read it so quickly I wanted to re-read it and get started on the rest as soon as possible. Cassie is a witch out of time with a story of her own to tell. Nick is running away from his magic, but cannot help the pull of Cassie and their interwoven destiny. I am so glad to have found this author! The mystery surrounding everything that has happened since Cassie was transported through time and what could potentially happen now that they are on the right track is gonna keep me addicted to Denise’s writing for as many books as she has to offer! Don’t pass up the chance to read this story and follow this author. I know I’m glad that I did.

Tangled Roots: Witches of Willow Creek is the first book in the Tangled Magic series by Denise D. Young. This is a great paranormal romance with a small town setting, time travel, witches, magic, danger, adventure, drama, agendas, and much more. I have come into this series a bit backwards, having started on book #2 first, but each story could be read as a standalone, with out feeling lost or like you are ‘missing’ anything. Having said that, I am glad that I went back to read this first book- as it really does set the series off to a great start. Cassie Gearhart wakes up in 2019- what happened to the last 45 years? She is determined to find out what happened in the ‘missing’ time. Her coven is gone- and the only potential help she can find doesn’t want anything to do with witchcraft and magic. What will happen- especially with danger approaching? What ensues makes for a fantastic story about a witch lost in time. Can’t wait to continue the series.

Love witchy fiction?? Then this is the book for you! I found this book fun to read. I very much enjoyed it! First in it’s series, and a perfect start to a wonderful series too! Tangled Roots is a well written paranormal read with it’s fair share of magic, mayhem, and suprising twists! Welcome to Willow Creek where magic is no hidden secret. Love small town settings. The storyline is delightful. The characters are great, likeable and very well developed. Such a quick captivating read! The story does end in an interesting spot, so of course I NEED to read the next story to find out what happens. Can’t wait either!!

Oh my gosh guys, this book is great. The writing is amazing and so seamless it was easy to fall into this book and feel like I was there with Cassie and Nick in the forest. Loved the descriptions of the women in the coven, and seeing how the knowledge and magic was passed down through the generations. I found myself trying to figure out what my elemental would be if I were a witch. I definitely need to read the next books in this series, because I have so many questions, and I need to see what happens! Fantasy, romance, and YA lovers, buy this book!

I enjoyed this paranormal fantasy story. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. This is a well written story that has characters that bring the story to life on each page. They are relatable and made the story engaging. This is a faster paced story about Cassie and a spell she casted forty-five years ago which by the way is the last thing she remembers. Nick is the only other witch in this small town Cassie finds herself in. The problem comes in that when they are together passion flares and it could be their undoing. Will they find the coven? What will fate have in store for them? There is alot going on in this shorter story but it keeps you turning pages and it certainly is entertaining. They have great chemistry and just made great characters. I highly recommend this book.

I showed up on his doorstep. At midnight. Missing 45 years’ worth of time.
I’m Cassie Gearhart, and the last thing I remember, I cast a spell in 1974. Then, I woke up on a rainy July night to find it was 2019. And the entire Willow Creek Coven—my coven—was gone.
Well, there is one witch left in Willow Creek, Virginia: Nick Felson, the grandson of my high priestess, a brooding farm boy with magic in his blood and a chip on his shoulder.
Every time we get too close, love—the most powerful of magicks—draws us together. The passion? It threatens to be our undoing.
There’s a whole host of other problems, though. For one, Nick wants nothing to do with magic—and therefore, with me, a witch lost in time.
For another, the sinister magic that took the coven? It’s not finished with us.
It’s barely getting started.
Don’t miss the first book in the Tangled Magic Series, perfect for fans of the witchy magic of Charmed and for anyone seeking paranormal romance with a small-town setting!
Equal parts bookworm, flower child, and eclectic witch, Denise D. Young writes fantasy and paranormal romance featuring witches, magic, faeries, and the occasional shifter.
Whatever the flavor of the magic, it’s always served with a brisk cup of tea–and the promise of romance varying from sweet to sensual.
She lives with her husband and their animals in the mountains of Virginia, where small towns and tall trees inspire her stories. She reads tarot cards, collects crystals, gazes at stars, and believes magic is the answer (no matter what the question was).
If you’ve ever hoped to find a book of spells in a dusty attic, if you suspect every misty forest contains a hidden portal to another realm, or if you don’t mind a little darkness before your happily-ever-after, her books might be just the thing you’ve been waiting for.

Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Book 2) by Denise D. Young. While I know this is book two I did read it first without confusion but I’ll definitely be going back to read book one soon. This was my first read by this author and I loved definitely be back for more. Sometimes I find it hard to really sink into a paranormal type story but I had absolutely no problem with this book, I immediately found myself lost within its pages and not wanting to find my way out. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with, they truly pulled me into their world and I was hooked from start to finish. It’s on the shorter side but it doesn’t hinder the storyline in any way. It’s a well thought out storyline and paced nicely. Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Four big stars and highly recommended!

Tangled Fates is the second book in Denise Young’s Tangled Magic Series and a solid 4 star read, in my opinion. I did not read book one in the series (Tangled Roots) and while I was able to enjoy this book without having read it, I wish i had read the series in order. I am someone that loves witches and other paranormal elements and I was really drawn to the synopsis for Tangled Fates, even though my usual genre is more of the psychological thriller type. I am really happy I branched out, this book was a quick read with great characters that you feel as though you know personally. I really enjoyed how the author alternated perspective throughout the storytelling. Overall, this was a really fun, engaging read. It won’t be the last I read of Denise Young.

Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Series: Book 2) by Denise D. Young. This is the 2nd book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Vivienne (Vi) Gearhart who is a fire witch and Aiden Mcpherson who is a fox shifter. They are working together to try to find a way to break a curse that has been put over the coven. When Aiden and Vi first meet she knew there was chemistry between them because she hadn’t felt that way in a long time. Aiden reaches out to Vi to help him find out who has put a curse on them and to break the curse. They find all kinds of adventures along the way including a little romance. This is set in their little coven which is like a sweet little town but Adien and Vi need to break this curse or this town will be destroyed. I give Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Book 2) by Denise D. Young, 5 stars.
This is such a wonderful example of Paranormal Romance! I do not see fox shifters often in books, so I was really happy to see one here. Not to mention that Vi is also pretty unique. All of the characters in this story are good — they feel very real and relatable. This made a great story even more magical for me. I cannot wait to see more of these characters.
This is my first book in this series and I did not feel lost at all. The author lightly goes over what happened previously and even though I want to go back and read book one, I understood enough that it is not technically needed. Some authors do not do too well in this. This story itself grabbed me in the beginning of the book and I could not put it down until I was finished.
If you are a fan of Paranormal Romance with magical creatures and a story woven into the most captivating story, this book is for you.

Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Book 2) by Denise D. Young is a great paranormal story that definitely drew me in. The story is filled with witches and shifters, magic and prophecy, portals and realms, evil and danger, drama and romance. It is a short story which is fast paced and an easy read. The intrigue kept me glued to the story which I finished in one sitting. I have not read the first book in the series but that didn’t pose a problem, I will be going back to read it and probably reread this one. I am curious to see what will come next.

This is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, I was able to follow along easily but I will definitely be going back to check out the first book. In this book we meet Vi, a witch and Aiden, a fox shifter. Both are on a journey to break a curse within the coven. Aiden is put through some pretty intense things with his own family forcing him to drink a potion to hide his fox side, then on top of that he finds out his cousin Evan is in rough shape. He goes to the aid of his cousins Nick and Evan which is where he meets Vi. Vi feels somewhere inside her that her and Aiden have a connection, but it seems like she pushes him away for most of the book until finally that connection is brought to life. This story is magical, romantic, and crazy for what Aiden’s cousin’s family is doing and trying to do to their world. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in this series.

When one member of her coven Evan returns there is something wrong. Evan isn’t who he seems to be like he has lost a part of himself.
Aiden is a fox shifter. After his family tried to make him drink a potion to stop his shifter abilities, he decides to leave and go it alone. Which works fine until he has a vision of his cousin Evan in trouble and races to his aid.
Once Aiden and Vi have teamed up they both have the same goal in mind. To save Evan and to stop the darkness that is threatening their family.
Can they figure things out in time to be able to stop it or will they be too late? With other surprises in store and the truth being that all their fates are connected they need to work fast and together to save everyone they love.

Young – Review by Kerry Carr
5 Star Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Series: Book 2) by Denise D. Young is a Paranormal romance story that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. This is the second book in this series and my first read by this Author. Although this should be read in order I I didn’t have any trouble and I’m definitely going to be grabbing the first book to read. There’s a bit of everything from magic, some danger and romance. Vi and Aiden find themselves trying to figure out how to break a curse on the coven. Will they get it done and what do they learn about themselves along the way ? Can they have a future together ? Find out what happens next in this absolute must read I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I really enjoyed this book. Although I had not read the first book in this series, that did not prevent me from enjoying Tangled Fates. It was full of suspense, adventure, and love. Denise D. Young told a really good story. I could not put it down. I look forward to reading more from her.

Young – Review by Cindy Rushin
Vi and Aiden are perhaps destined to be together in this world of magic or perhaps they can battle a bigger force than one another. Vi, a fire witch and Aiden, a fire shifter are caught up in a game of tug of war. Vi knows she has changes coming that threaten her coven because life hasn’t been easy for her. Aiden comes seeking answers from Vi but this shakes something up her world in a lot of ways. This book is steamy, intense, and action-packed. This is a gorgeous read and unpredictable. I couldn’t get enough. I enjoyed this one just as much as the first!
