This is my first time reading a book from this author and I’m so glad I took the chance! The author pens a story that is original, captivating, and addictive! I wish I had more time to read it all at once! Harlow is going through her own trauma from missing her parents, and refusing to follow in their footsteps. She decides to make her own way, which leads to her own level of trouble. This magic sword she steals chooses her and takes her captive, and then brings a world of hurt to her life. Harlow fights hard for her life and ends up on the run. With every turn of the page I was on the edge of my seat as this amazing a story developed! Now on to book 2!

This was such a fun read and I loved Harlow. This was a fresh take on the genre and I really enjoyed reading about this world.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the first book in a new series, and while there is some unfinished business, the main conflict of this book was solved. The world, magic, and how the two have been separated form the ‘mundane’ world is interesting and new, even with some recognizable names of supernatural people. Harlow is a likable character who makes mistakes and isn’t perfect, and the other characters we meet along the way are unique and intriguing. I loved how much character the sword has, and I cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book.

I enjoyed this story. It was a well written paranormal story that i didn’t wanna put down. Harlow is the main character and she was great. She is a charm collector and that is something i have never read about before so i enjoyed that part alot. She was such a good MC and she was my favorite part of the story. I freaking LOVE this book! Harlow is a fierce female lead and the addition of a sentient sword as a character in this story elevates it above so many others! Boy, does it ever get her in trouble. They are on the run just trying to survive while they try to work out what the heck is going on. You really need to give this book a try! I am SO excited for the next book.

This book latched it’s grip onto me and had me hooked in good! I couldn’t wait to read what happened next and now I can’t wait to read the next book! Miss Fletcher is a charm “collector” and now she is in a WORLD of trouble!!! As an ex bounty hunter turned criminal, her specialty is finding rare magic-laced items. She does this by breaking into the houses of recently arrested criminals and stealing stuff for the highest bidder. It’s a pretty good gig until she loots the wrong item (a dragon sword) from the wrong basement. Within minutes of her stealing said sword, she realizes it was a HUGE mistake. The blade has a mind of it’s own and it has an anger management problem that causes Fletcher to be on the run from the government shifters and other bounty hunters. Now on the run, she has to find a way to prove her innocence, all while a murder weapon follows her around. This book really keeps you on your toes. Will she run away never to be seen? First, I think the cover of the book is stunning! The story was very good and full of magic, mystery and one wild ride with a sword. Charm collector Harlow is all about finding items and sell them off. When Harlow’s “eye” finds a beautiful sword that is when the story takes off. Nothing like believing you have the person to buy the sword but the sword itself has a mind of its own. After being blamed for crimes she tries to find out what the sword is truly trying to bring. Mix in action, adventure, crime ……. This story was fun to read.

This non stop urban fantasy was a great read! I loved reading about Harlow’s world and all the others in it. Reading about her and the sword that has anger issues is definitely entertaining. I really enjoyed how descriptive the author was. It made it really easy to visualize all the places and everything in the story! I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Harlow comes from a family of bounty hunters and that’s what she’s always known. She like to collect charms as well as sell items that she finds to the highest bidder. She comes upon a sword at one of her locations, and ever since she took hold of it, it’s been a run since. She has to prove her innocence while controlling this weapon. It’s truly a great book to this series.

While there she comes across a sentient sword and shortly thereafter she is a wanted woman on the run. This was urban fantasy at its finest. Excellent world building, really likable characters and spot on pace. May cannot come soon enough. Putting my pre-order in NOW.

I love the originality of this story as well as the details in the storyline. The author gave us a brand new world we can immerse ourselves in. It started a little slow because of the details and introduction to a new world and new characters, but it picked up. A wonderful read that is action packed and funny! This is the first time I have heard of this author but I love all things magical and decided to give this urban fantasy a try. I am really glad I did though because this book was phenomenal. The character development was wonderful including the sentient sword that the author was able to describe and make the sword come to life in such a way. The world building was fantastic and made it seem as though anyone could visit Luma.
We start off meeting Harlow, your typical human living amongst magical creatures just trying to get by. After losing her parents she uses her dad’s tools of his trade to find her own albeit illegal enterprise in order to survive. She becomes a charm collector which entails showing up after notorious magical artifact collectors are apprehended to loot their stash of magical artifacts and sell them to her own list of clientele. This score was the one she had been waiting for and everything goes smoothly until she follows a hutch and takes the dragon sword. From there her life goes haywire as this sentient sword has a mind of its own and has taken a shine to Harlow. One day it simply vanishes from her apartment and Harlow counts her lucky stars until she is accused of murder and the sword once again finds its way into her possession covered in blood. Now she is on the run and must prove her innocence before she ends up behind bars for a murder she did not commit. This book has it all: action, adventure, plus a good mystery to boot. I would encourage everyone to take a chance on this book, I just know you’ll become hooked just like I was!

This is a paranormal story with some crime mixed into the story. The plotline is engaging and the characters really enhance the story. The story is about Harlow, a charm collector who has bounty hunters for her parents. Her father died because of his work and her mother left town. She said she did not want to follow in her parent’s footsteps. Instead, she developed a knack for charm collecting. That is until she found a gorgeous sword. Her find of a gorgeous sword causes her some trouble. Trouble has found Harlow. This book is an adventure, magic, danger, and suspense. I highly recommend this book to those who are looking for adventure and suspense.

This is a fantastic paranormal novel that will keep you interested from start to finish. It has a bit of everything; intrigue, danger, mystery and magic. The world that this author created is fascinating. Magical cities hidden behind veils, side by side with our cities here on earth. It’s quite interesting. The story takes place in a city called Luma as we follow our main character, Harlow Fletcher. Although she works outside of the law, she collects charms for bounty, she’s one of the good guys. Like most women, she’s attracted to pretty things and on her latest raid, she grabs a beautiful sword. This is where the adventure begins! The sword has a mind of its own and gets her into heaps of trouble.
I thought the characters were cool. Aside from Harlow, my favourite has to be the sword. The action made the storyline flow well and kept me wanting more. This was a fun book to read and I’m really happy that it is a series. I can’t wait to read part two!

Harlow Fletcher is a magical charm collector in a world similar to ours with magical creatures out in the open. At some point, a portal switch was accidentally flipped and magical creatures (namely deemed “fae”) as well as humans were transported to each other’s worlds. It has been long enough that the world has adjusted and created hubs or citiesof mundane / magical properties. What Harlow does isn’t exactly considered legal and is definitely the risky type that balances on the edge of trouble or safety. She ends up “collecting” a sword that has a mind of its own and the world she knows is sliced to shreds. The world building of this story was so new for having creatures I’ve read about over and over. I definitely appreciated the futuristic feel to it and the book starts out with enough detail it’s like it jumped off screen.

I couldn’t put it down, well other than when I had to go to work. This book was incredible and so entertaining to read. it really sucked me in to know what was going to happen next. A sword and a girl that gets into some trouble, and trying to get out of it, with a sword that just wouldn’t leave her alone. Getting into mischief that she does really showed her thou who her friends were and who she could trust. I love reading books on different views to with the supernatural type, like who some write that you can see a vampire in a mirror, and in this particular book she wrote her own little twist with vampires that I found interesting. I love how all the characters have a very strong bond with each other, and how much they care for one another. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more.

I love Urban Fantasy and was intrigued by the idea of a sentient sword so I decided to give this story a try. There are a lot of things to love about it. The characters are interesting. The meat of the story is great. And, of course, the magic and paranormal aspects we love are plentiful. However, I found that there was a bit too much extraneous world building. It felt like I was getting lost in a lot of minor details that slowed down the story quite a bit. That being said, if you are a person who loves intricate worldbuilding, you’ll probably love that part of it. Overall, I’d say the heart of the story was good, but I definitely will have to be in the right headspace to keep going with the series since the superfluous world building is distracting to me.

Hilarious fantasy adventure I absolutely enjoyed this book. Such a fun read. Harlow was relatable and quirky with a strong sense of self. The storyline was original and well written. With a paranormal sword with a mind of it’s own, plenty of action and hints at romance there is a lot within the pages but the author delivers it with ease. A very strong series starter and I will definitely check out book 2.

I feel that I can relate to Harlow because she’s had a hard life like I have and she’s resilient. This book has helped me escape to a fantasy world where ai could actually pretend to be Harlow and be badass like she is and take on the world.
I was lost in this world and wanted it to continue. This writer knew what they were doing and wrote well. I’ll be reading her next book for sure.

“Diabolical Sword” wasn’t my favorite as it seemed to take too long for there to be what felt like real peril for the main character. I’m used to reading books that are extremely fast paced from page one.
I did really enjoy the premise of the book. Everything was well described, the characters, their actions, the magical beings e.t.c. My favorite part was the last few chapters as they were so exciting and full of action.

Harlow comes across this sword who develops a likeness to her. Though she gets framed for crimes that she herself did not commit but the sword. Can you imagine a sword that take a likeness to you? Really can’t wait to read the next book.

This urban fantasy is definitely worth reading. I was excited by the landscape and descriptions of this world. It took a little while to fully appreciate the world and how those on the “fringes” like Harlow Fletcher survive. I really appreciate how strong Harlow is and how she perseveres the best way she knows how after she loses her parents. We meet so many interesting and sometimes scary characters in this book. Reading about them and learning how they interact with Harlow and how she deals with them is an important part of this snook. I can’t wait to read more about Harlow and her search for magical charms in future books of this series.

I devoured this book! I don’t think I can say enough good things about this book. I enjoyed the writing style, the characters and the story line. Harlow Fletcher is an illegal charm collector in the supernatural city of Luma. She is a human in a supernatural world, thanks to her parents raising her here. Her ability to get herself into trouble seems to be infinite but that is part of the charm of the book.
After Harlow “collects” a magical sword her luck just seems to go from bad to worse. The sword has a mind of its own and decades to follow Harlow. It saves her from certain disaster at first but later drags her into more danger than she could have found herself. Murder, mayhem and craziness ensue.

Some days were more lucrative than others, so when she intercepts a message that a person well known to Harlow had been apprehended and she couldn’t resist checking out the merchandise which had been left behind, but when she does, it is more than she ever thought possible. As she sneaks into the warehouse where the items are kept, she enters the room and sees weapons, charmed necklaces and items galore, so she picks out the pieces which attract her and which she knows she will get a good price for until she sees a sword which looks beautiful and dangerous, but try as she might, she cannot leave without it and this is where her trouble begins.
As she is leaving, she hears some guards come in and hopes that she can get away before they see her, but unfortunately, this doesn’t happen and she ends up being cornered, however to her and the guards surprise, the sword she picked up which she swears has dragon magic in it comes to life and defends her. She cannot believe it, especially when it takes a shine to her and refuses to let her leave without it, but when she gets it home, things take a turn for the worse when she is rudely awoken from a deep sleep by the police and she is accused of murder.
As she tries to profess her innocence, the sword appears covered in blood and Harlow has to run for her life away from the police who turn out to be government trained shifters. Will Harlow and this sentient diabolical sword be able to work together to prove her innocence, or will the shifters catch her before she has the chance? This is a fast paced fantasy adventure where nothing is straight forward and the mysteries increase at every turn, it keeps you on your toes throughout as you try to figure out what will happen next in this rip roaring adventure.

First off- the cover art is BEAUTIFUL. I know you aren’t supposed to judge a book by it’s cover- but the cover made me excited to read! I really enjoyed Harlows character and her attitude! The plot is incredible- the story was so good- I’m REALLY excited to read even more by this author! This was my first one- and I’m pumped to see that there’s more. This was really an enjoyable fantasy novel that keeps you interested- not only because of the storyline- but because of the characters too! Give this a read y’all- you won’t be disappointed! (PS I think the sword was my favorite by far!)
