Notebook Mysteries ~ Parisian Intrigue (Notebook Mysteries Book 6) by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Diane Sennett

Parisian Intrigue (Notebook Mysteries #6)Parisian Intrigue by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Parisian Intrigue is the sixth book in the Notebook Mysteries series. This book is full of historic events which I enjoyed. The characters Emma, Jeremy, Dora, and Tim set of on a mystery trip when accommodations arrive at their door. They meet some mysterious travelers on the way to Paris, to the 1889 Paris Exposition.
The foursome is led to not one, but two mysteries. This book is well-written and kept me guessing from start to finish. While I read this as a stand-alone, I would suggest reading the series; something I am looking forward to reading. If you enjoy history and mystery, I highly recommend this book!

A Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship RomanceA Toast for Laurent (Vine Valley, #1): A Small Town Fake Relationship Romance by Theresa Paolo

The first in the Vine Valley series, A Toast for Laurent centers around Phoebe and Laurent. These two were college friends, in love and had a pact: if neither of them is married by the time they were 40, they would marry each other.
The thing is, Phoebe left, leaving Laurent heart-broken and alone. Then out of the blue, she returns to Laurent, to collect on their pact.
The premise of the story had me hooked! The characters and the story are well-written. I loved the attention to detail the author gave each character.

Lap Baby: Emotional Women's FictionLap Baby: Emotional Women’s Fiction by Amy Q. Barker
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an incredible story. I was intrigued at the beginning and boy was I taken for an emotional roller coaster ride with the survivors of a plane crash. Each survivor has coped and not always “lived” in the 20 years since the plane went down.
The writing was superbly done. Each character comes to life on the page; you cannot help but to feel their trials and triumphs.
I highly recommend this book!

Ways to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper – Review by Diane Sennett

Ways to Improve BaileyWays to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I happened upon Ways to Improve Bailey, from a recommendation. This romance was light-hearted and funny. Bailey has a snarky sassiness, that I loved. Tanner, who is a more matter-of-fact guy, complements Bailey. While Bailey does not really want to go on a date with Tanner in the beginning, she reluctantly takes a chance. When Bailey realizes there is more to Tanner than she thought, she realizes maybe she can improve.
If you are looking for a fast-paced, witty rom-com I recommend this book.

Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) by Liza Snow – Review by Diane Sennett

Obedience (Ties That Bind)Obedience by Liza Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Obedience is the first in the Ties that Bind series. Cassandra has admired Chandler since she was a young girl, after seeing him perform in the circus. Her dream is to one day perform in the circus; or more precisely, perform with Chandler.
Cassandra has made it to the Dream Academy and Chandler Moreau. The story has some BDSM elements and suspenseful elements; and the story setting makes this book intriguing. The end left too many unanswered questions; which I hope will be answered in the next installment.

Afflicted LoveAfflicted Love by Autumn Sand
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This M/M contemporary romance is the first in a series by Autumn Sand. There are dark elements in this story that the writer prefaces the novel with a disclaimer.
This book is full of emotions; lust, love, anger and hatred. The characters try to cope with and without each other, and while they have a strong bond; life doesn’t always fall into place for them.
The book is short, fast-paced and a good read.

After reading the first two books in the Echo Series, I was excited to read Unexpected Entanglement. Once again, C. R. Alam did not disappoint! This book had wonderful characters: Rowan Kelly and Chris Sullens. When they meet, Rowan realizes that she could use Chris’ help with her inn; but small island community living easily sparks rumors-meaning the two will have to pretend to be a couple.
This novel has a lot to offer, with well-written characters, romance, suspense, and humor. I recommend reading the first two books in this series, but Unexpected Entanglement could be read as a stand- alone.

This was a fast-paced read, and the characters are well-written. While I admit, Cole was very irritating to me, I understand his reasons for not wanting his father to find happiness; his treatment towards Riley goes beyond the pale.
Riley, is truly a fish-out of water in this new life her mother has put her in. While she is treading water, she must remain strong, especially when it comes to Cole and his minions. I am looking forward to more of their story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Libby Kay has taken us back to Buckeye Falls, to the lives of CeCe and Evan. Both work at Max’s diner, and while they both had a great time together at a winter festival, they both hide their true feelings from each other.
CeCe doesn’t see herself romantically linked to Evan, he’s younger and she’s nearing the dreaded 3-0. Evan tries to tell her that he is not that much younger and age doesn’t matter. As he navigates his way, patiently; they begin to spend time together outside of work.
Of course, what Evan doesn’t know is that CeCe has another secret and she is not entirely sure she should open up to Evan.
These characters are wonderfully written, this story is filled with friendship, admiration, love, and a fighting spirit. CeCe and Evan’s story kept my interest from beginning to end.
