This is a lovely book to introduce children to counting. I love the message in this book of treating everyone the same and embracing differences. This story has beautiful prose and lovely accompanying illustrations.

We have read many books by this author, but my kiddos still get excited each time I bring a new book home! The first thing that caught my attention was the simple yet fun illustrations. I love how they look like doodles created with crayons. The storyline is easy for everyone to follow as the author weaves in her life lesson again. The school children have a companion that tags along, but he’s a little different. He can do some of the things that they do, but not all of them which begins to worry him. We enjoyed this, and it sparked a great conversation between my 8- and 12-year-old. I highly recommend having this in your classroom, library, or at home to share with the young ones in your life.

Just another great kids book by this author. I really like how this author is able to bring children’s imagination to life and help enrich their learning through story. The author does a great job of entwining subjects and simplifying them for kids. I just wish that my own kids were young enough for these books I really would recommend this author’s books for anyone with young kids who wants to start a great reading habit.

I want to first mention that I love the art in this book! I think this is the first time I have seen the author do the art herself and it’s fun! The story and illustrations are adorable. Dinopotamus wants to be just like the other kids. He is a little different though. He has to find a different way to do some of the things the kids do. My seven year old son and I both enjoyed this book.

An easy to read book for children. Dinopotamus goes to school with the children. He cannot do everything the children do, but they include him nonetheless. Dinopotamus enjoys his day at school and decides he will go back the next day. A cute book.

Just like the book Unicorns don’t do that, the Dinopotamus is such a fun and unique character. I love love love that the author drew the artwork for this book and that she was inclusive with the other characters she drew. Everyone has representation in the book. I love it. Dinopotamus just wants to do everything the kids do and he does it in his own way half the time lol. Another great read from author Lois Wickstrom. Look forward to reading more.

Dinopotamus Goes to School (Dinopotamus Series) by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a fun story for kids. Its the story of Dinopotamus and him wanting to do all the things the other kids do. When they kids all go to school he follows them. With him being larger than the other kids he can’t do all the things they do, at least not like the other kids, but he always tries and even manages doing most of them. He had so much fun he looks forward to going back tomorrow. This book teaches kids that its ok to be different and that you can usually do the same things with some modifications. Such a great lesson for kids and the illustrations are so cute as well. Add this to your child’s library today!

Dinopotamis Goes to School is the first Lois Wickstrom book I have gotten my girls where she is the author and illustrator. While the pictures weren’t as good as the others, you can tell Lois Wickstrom put a lot of love into the story and art. I think my kids liked it best since it seemed more like art my oldest could try to copy, try being keyword. It was such a cute story and definitely for younger kids.

I really enjoyed this story! I love how the Dinopotamus did everything and wanted to do everything the kids did! This is definitely a fun story I’m gonna have to show my 3 year old! I really think he would enjoy it!
This is such a great book for young children. I have read several of this authors books and they have all been fantastic to read to my granddaughter. The illustrations are fabulous as always. I really loved how the illustrations in the whole book were all in color crayons. This book teaches some lessons as do her other books. In this book, the dinosaur goes to school with the children and does everything that they do. Some of the things the children do, but the dinosaur can not because of size or other differences. Great read and vibrant colors.

Follow the story or Dinopotamus who goes to school! He is nervous as he looks different and is a different size. He watches what the other kids do and does what they do. Sometimes he can’t always do the same things due to his size but finds he has fun anyway. My 6 year old enjoyed reading this along with me, it was a great lesson about inclusion even when someone looks different. Also the illustrations were done in crayon which I actually found charming. Well done!

Dinopotamus Goes To School is the first Lois Wickstrom book I “wasn’t sure of”. My daughter will be 8 in a couple months and I thought the story might be a little “young” for her but being a big fan of the author, we gave it a try. She loved the story and had a lot of fun reading it to me. The illustrations were adorable and as always, there was a subtle lesson while having fun reading along. Another great children’s book!

Another family favorite! Dinopotamus just wants to go to school to learn just like the other kids but quickly realizes he is not quite the same. My neice and nephew devoured this book just as they do any other Wickstrom book I bring them. I love the life lessons the stories always include, such as inclusiveness, and there is nothing wrong with being a little different. As usual, the book was well written, and the illustrations were eye-catching. I would recommend this book to others.

Dinopotamus Goes to School is a part of the Dinopotamus Series by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a cute story about Dinopotamus. He watches the other children daily and does what they do. As they go to school he goes to school too. We get to see how fun it is for Dinopotamus to learn and he handles doing things even though he is different. This is such a great way to show children how fun learning is. It also teaches a great lesson on how to adapt to various situations. The illustrations are wonderful. They remind you of something you would be able to learn how to do yourself. This is another fun book by Lois Wickstrom.

Dinopotamus just wants to be one of the kids and do what they do – play, go to school, learn things. Unfortunately, Dinopotamus is half T-Rex and half hippopotamus, which means they are much bigger than the children and has difficulty even fitting in through the school door! In this story, children learn about differences and the importance of finding solutions so everyone can join in, but in a cute, fun story. I would say that children aged 4-8 would enjoy this story.

Shows that children are accepting of everyone and will help their friends learn new things and will always find a way to include those around them. Dinopotamus Goes to School is a cute picture book for young readers. It is geared toward 4 to 8 year olds, and my 8 year old enjoyed reading it with me. Dino has been watching the kids play at school, and wants to participate, but he is worried he doesn’t fit in. He doesn’t look like the kids, or fit in their school, but he has fun playing and learning with them. It is a good story to teach inclusion and accepting others, even when they look different. The illustrations are fun and unique- looking like they are colored with crayon or pencil. Would be good in preschool or young elementary classrooms.

I loved this book, my favorite part has to be the art. I love that it looks like someone drew and colored the book, such a fun concept. Dinopotamus is so cute and sweet, he wants to be like the other children, he wants to be involved. I appreciate the teacher including Dino in the lesson and even reassuring him that he did have 3 toes instead of 5 like the others and that is okay. All around a cute book.

Dinopotamus Goes to School is a fun and cute story that is for ages 4-8; but can also be enjoyed by anyone young at heart also reading to the littles during storytime. The story overall is engaging and fun while also having the colorful illustrations that go along with each page.
All Dinopotamus wants to do is be like all the children around them….playing and going to school!! Learning lessons is fun…..but learning everyone may be different in some ways….even Dinopotamus… it is ok!

Super cute children’s book. Not only does this story encourage going on school, it also teaches children about differences. While the dinosaur is very different he is still the same. This story also encourages counting and playing together. Once again this author has given children another cute story with teaching hidden within. A must have for your child’s library.

Another cute story from this author, I always enjoy getting to check out her books. This is a great book to teach young children not only about counting or other educational skills, but that it’s ok to be different. The children in the book recognize the Dinopotamus wants to learn, but he is a bit different from them. Children will get to see how they embrace the differences between themselves and Dino. I enjoyed the art work as well, it was very cute and young children will definitely enjoy it as well. Definitely a great book to enjoy with young children.

Dinopotamus just wants to fit in with the kids and go to school and learn. He follows them to school one day and participates in the class learning sessions. Some things he has to do a little differently because he is different, but he learns new things and looks forward to going to school again tomorrow.
This book subtly focuses on celebrating differences in people. Dinopotamus isn’t able to do things in the same way the school children do but he adapts and finds a way to still participate. The illustrations show a child in a wheelchair, who also has to learn to adapt.
This is a great way to teach children that sometimes learning in different ways is necessary and that it’s also ok! I love how the illustrations look very child-like in terms of the drawings and the crayon colorings.

5 Stars Dinopotamus Goes to School (Dinopotamus Series) by Lois Wickstrom
Dinopotamus Goes to School is a cute children’s book that children ages 4-8 will enjoy reading. My son is six years old and absolutely loved this book. He loves dinosaurs and was super excited about Dinopotamus and going to school. This author never ceases to amaze me with her creative characters and colorful illustrations that make the story come to life. Dinopotamus shows children that not everyone is same and that’s OK. I highly recommend reading this book and we look forward to reading more from this Author.

There is honestly nothing this inspiring author can’t do. Not only did Lois Wickstrom write this book but she illustrated it also. The illustrations show kids that they can draw their own stories too. My seven-year-old instantly started trying to draw his own Dinopotamus, as soon as we finished the book only, he made it green, his favorite color. An easy-to-read story about acceptance, kindness, and friendship as they all learn together.

Even before we started reading I knew this book was going to be a hit in my house simply because it involved a dinosaur going to school. They both absolutely loved the idea of a dinosaur joining in with classes like all the children. I think they were both a little disappointed the next day when once didn’t turn up in their class. This author has created yet another brilliant and engaging story that captured the attention of all of us. Although her books are not aimed at my age range I definitely get just as much joy from watching how much my kids love them. I think this one has to be their favourite so far and I might just have to agree with them.

This is the cute story of Dinopotamus going to school. He follows the children around and copies what they do until he comes to a couple of activities he’s not sure of. But the children and the teacher encourage Dinopotamus and he tries his best. I love how Wickstrom is always sprinkling lessons throughout her picture books. This is a really quick reader for your younger littles and a great lesson in kindness and perseverance. I really enjoyed the illustrations as well…they looked drawn in crayon and went right along with the story. This really is another great addition to your kiddos library.
