My girls and I really enjoyed this book! The rhyme of the words makes it almost hypnotic for my toddlers and they loved learning how they can play with puppies safely and how the puppies can have more fun. It’s a really good read for adults as well, who are wanting to get their dogs thriving and trying new things.

The Hand of God: From Oppenheimer to Hypersonics – A Crash Course on Nuclear Weapons and Humankind’s Most Dangerous Game by Paul McCarthy is DEFINITELY a crash course on physics! I am absolutely not a science person and this book was way out of my normal genre. I wanted to try something different and so glad I did! I learned so much in this book. But the way the author explained everything was really clear and easy to understand! I was a little worried this would be boring and hard to follow but it wasn’t. I was actually truly captivated and intrigued the whole time. Try it!

Ever wonder what your cat does when they go out at night?
This novel gives a creative way and adventure to what Lucas the cat gets up to when he leaves to go be with friends. There is a small camera on his collar.
The artwork is beautiful and the words rhyme. A fun book that also include activities such as a word search, after the main story.

Samantha Shannon has done it again! This book was SO MUCH FUN! I have a cat who is very much like Lucas. His adventures and his friends are just what I imagine my cat to be. The illustrations really bring the words to life and the cadence of the story is very smooth. Coupled with the activities at the end of the story, this is another book that really delivers a good time!!

I really enjoyed this cute story. I read this to my almost 5-year-old who is cat obsessed and she loved it. She enjoyed looking at all the beautifully done illustrations and finding the different animals along with Lucas in the pictures. She also thought the activities at the back of the book were cool too. I think the concept of the story is really cute. When a family pet or neighbourhood pet leaves for the night everyone is always curious about what they do and the idea of putting a camera on them is super cute to find out exactly what they do at night! This was not my first book by this author, and I have enjoyed her work in the past and knew I wouldn’t be let down by reading another of her books, and I was right. As a teacher, I will be recommending this book to all of my friends to read to their little ones both in school and at home, and overall highly recommend it.

This was a really good book. The illustrations are very bright and vivid. My grandson loved Lucas. He asked so many questions wondering what Lucas did at night time when he was outside. All the different animals Lucas met made the story intriguing to a 3 year old. He was able to follow along. He loved that the girls used a spy camera like superheroes.

Cute little story about a family cat and his adventures at night. I like when children’s books have life lessons in them. My 4 year old granddaughter thought this book was funny and she enjoyed trying to find all the animals at the end. I really liked the extra stuff after the story that I can do with her another time.

Lucas the Spy Cat is a really cute imaginative children’s book. I read it to my 7 year old, and he loved it. The illustrations are beautiful and colorful. Lucas is a pet who goes outside at night, and his owners are suspecting what he might do. They have put a camera on his collar, to capture his night time adventures. There are several fun ideas, parties in the woods, taking on cases of escaping pets, and more. Then at the end, the owners review the video and are shocked by what they see! I wish the owners were drawn a bit younger. We did love the creative rhyming the book is written in. My son loved the activities at the end, looking for Lucas’s friends, and completing the word search. He loved that the last page included a picture of the real Lucas.

Lucas is a black cat who lives with his family in a cosy home with his sister, but his family suspect that Lucas is no ordinary cat, they think that he is a spy cat! He leaves at dusk with a goodbye meow and doesn’t come back home until morning breaks and he can snuggle down in his bed, so one night, the family decide to put a camera on his collar and find out just what he gets up to.
When Lucas come home the next day, his family are expecting him and his woodland friends to go on some wild adventures, solving neighbourhood mysteries, but what exactly will they find on Lucas’s spy cam? This is a wonderful children’s story which will spark the imagination of anyone who reads it, with an engaging story and fabulous illustrations, as well as fun surprises for the whole family inside, it is a great read which I one I would go back to again.

This is such a fun and cute story that I really enjoyed sharing with my children. It was really interesting to see how my youngest engaged with the pictures while my oldest engaged with the story. I loved the idea of the story. We all found it such an exciting idea and we ended up reading it multiple times. This author clearly has a skill for creating fun and entertaining children’s stories. If all of her books are like this then I she will have a new set of fans with my family.

I love how the author is able to engage the reader’s imagination. The author really does a wonderful job of creating the story and brining the characters to life. I think this a great book to have a younger reader read and heighten their imagination. I highly recommend this book and author. I believe this book is suitable for children aged between 5 and 9. As I previously said I just wish my children were younger.

Lucas the Spy Cat is a fun book based on the ideas his owners have about what he does when he leaves at night. There are plenty of silly, funny ideas and great illustrations of the local wildlife and Lucas.
It was fun building the suspense while going over all the suggestions his owners make about his nighttime travels, and Lucas is a very smart cat.
This book was very cute for kids to read. Lucas is a cat that wanders off every night, and wanders back every morning. One day, the children of his owners’ family decide to attach a camera to his collar to see where he goes at night. With much childlike speculation, the children go to sleep hoping to find out that their cat goes out and is a spy or does other interesting things. This book shows that sometimes imagination is better than reality. My girls, ages 8 and 9, found this book interesting to read, as well.

I loved all of the interactive activities at the end of the story as well. I thought it read well on a kindle and the pictures came across well too. It’s definitely a great story for parents with young children who enjoy interactive and creative stories.

Have you ever wondered what your pet does when he goes out on his own? Two sisters have a bright idea. What if they attach a camera to the collar of their cat, in order to learn where he goes on his nightly expeditions? The siblings have several entertaining theories about what their fur-baby gets up to on a nightly basis., Alas, the camera seemingly malfunctioned, and they may never learn the true extent of the kitty’s adventures. Readers are encouraged to use their imaginations.

Lucas the Spy Cat by Samantha Shannon and illustrated by Lei Yang is a captivating children’s book with vivid illustrations and an adventurous storyline. In this story, the biggest question is what does Lucas, The Spy Cat do under the cover of darkness the night provides? His family hopes to discover exactly that when they strap a camera to his collar. However, will Lucas find a way to disarm the camera before he begins his nightly mission? The reader is taken through various possibilities of what Lucas might do with other animals helping him plot missions. Each mission includes different ways to help animals. The illustrations and speech bubbles draw readers to details that might be missed about the mission. The author-illustrator duo seems to challenge the reader to find all the animals that need Lucas’s help. The back of the book includes engaging activities for children to complete. Overall, this book is bound to be a new favorite for any child who loves animals or ninjas.

Lucas the Spy Cat is an absolutely adorable children’s book! It has lovely, full-color illustrations depicting Lucas, his family, and his animal friends shenanigans. Let’s face it, we all wonder what our critters get up to in instances such as this. My kiddo’s loved Jake and now they love Lucas! This author has always taken the extra step to make her books extra special and pertinent. She includes lessons, and fun, exciting ways to utilize those lessons with kids to really make them understand. She went above and beyond at the end of Lucas the Spy Cat by including a word find, pages where readers can come up with their own mystery, a page to create their own super spy, and a page where all the animals are hiding, and the reader can find them. The author even went as far as giving examples of fun ideas to get kids thinking, and using their creative thinking skills, even introducing us to the ‘real’ Lucas, and his sister Nemo. This was such a wonderful reading experience, and I can definitely recommend picking this book up.

Lucas the Spy Cat was such a wonderfully creative and fun read! I loved the activities in the back of the book as well. My kiddos and I loved every bit of this story, and the activities had us on our own magical games. Lucas goes out every night and his family is a bit curious as to what he’s up to. After attaching a camera to his collar and reviewing the footage, they can’t believe their eyes! My kids are 7 and 10, we all had a great time speculating what our own furry family members could be getting into after we go to sleep. This is such a cute book, I highly recommend picking it up to see what curious things this kitty gets into!

The illustrations were stunning and really brought the story alive. I loved how it can spark the imagination of young children about where Lucas the cat may go at night, what kind of adventures he might go on. I would definitely say this story is aimed at 5-7 year olds – I can imagine them writing their own Lucas the cat adventure stories! There are talking points at the end of the story along with pictures of the cat behind the inspiration for this story and a few activities for the children to complete! A lovely touch from the author!

Lucas’ family knows that he is not like other cats. Every night he leaves and does not come home until morning. His family has their own ideas as to what he is up and suspect that he is solving mysteries in the forest with other animals. Curious as to what Lucas does all night his family puts a camera on his collar to see if they can solve the mystery of where he goes and what he does every night. Does Lucas have a secret identity as a spy cat who solves mysteries?
I absolutely adored this book and found it a fun read. It is beautifully illustrated with animals having adventures and solving mysteries together. The end of the book contains fun activities that encourage learning while doing so in a creative and imaginative way. A must read for children of all ages!
