The Monster That Ate My Mommy by Jessica Aiken-Hall is an emotional stirring memoir that moved me in ways literature has never done before. Following Jessica’s and her harrowing journey through life, with all its highs and many lows. This book was so beautifully written and emotionally raw, that I couldn’t put it down and read most of it in a single sitting. I feel blessed to have read such a book and thank Jessica for being so brave and sharing her story with the world. To tell her story about growing up in a violent household, to being sexually harassed and raped as young child, to battling against mental illness and severe depression, and coming out of it stronger than ever. Her story is evocative and emotional, and I recommend that everyone read this book and open their eyes up to the dangers many abused kids are dealing with, and speak up.
