My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No Amends is a taut, F/F psychological suspense full of action, drama, mystery, intrigue, suspense, forbidden love, secrets, lies, deception, passion, and raw emotions. This book grabbed my attention from the first few pages and gripped me until the end. The story centers around the main characters of Tang and Dee who meet by chance and start a secret affair. Unbeknownst to Tang, their affair is not the only thing that Dee has been keeping a secret from her. When Tang’s live-in girlfriend, Layla, starts to suspect the affair Tang calls things off with Dee thinking that she can move forward and fix her relationship with Layla. Dee does not understand why Tang suddenly calls things off and refuses to fade into the background. When Dee suddenly ends up dead after a horrific car accident Tang is devastated and consumed with guilt. As it turns out, Dee is not the only one keeping secrets and running from the truth. As the investigation into Dee’s accident continues it starts to unravel secrets and lies that may have been better left hidden. This story was full of twists and turns as it took us into the world of a twisted mind that would do anything for love. A riveting, edge of your seat thrill ride that will keep you hooked until the final pages. I highly recommend this book!

This book threw me for loop. This story was a bit hard to follow at times due to POV changes and such in my opinion but the base of the storyline was really good. I definitely was left feeling like this author kept me on the edge of my seat. I love a book that keeps me guessing and doesn’t spell it out too easily and early. It’s a short read but it’s a well written story. The characters easily draw you in. All in all a good read and I do recommend it. Four big stars.

Angela Lam is a new to me author and I wasn’t sure what to expect but the blurb on the book sounded really intriguing. The author usually writes woman’s fiction and from what I’ve read this is her first foray into writing a suspense/thriller. I don’t know about her previous work but I think she fits into this niche very well. I enjoyed this book very much from start to finish and I’m interested in reading more from this author.

This book was a good quick read. It was written from two different characters’ perspectives and goes back and forth from the present to when those two characters meet. There are things you won’t like about each character in this book. I was not a fan of Dee and was rooting for Layla even though at times she frustrated me. Tang was in a class all her own. Which just makes it even more realistic in my opinion and the characters more believable. I was not expecting the ending at all and just when I thought there were no more plot twist there was another. This was definitely a good first read by this author and I will be looking into more books by them. If you are looking for a quick interesting read with great twists give this one a try!

What a great suspense filled love triangle this book is! This book was hard not to finish in one sitting. I needed to know what was coming next!

Tang is a real estate agent/writer who is in a relationship with Layla. When she crosses the path with Dee over a year ago and finds herself falling for her. When obsession takes over and secrets come out, will Tang come clean with Layla?

Will Dee’s secrets change how Tang feels about her? Will Tang be able to finish the love story she’s writing awe inspired by Dee?

You truly will have to read this book to find out. I will say you won’t be disappointed.

This is the first book I’ve read from Angela Lam. I really wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover and description didn’t really give me a whole lot but I figured I’d give it a shot. It wasn’t bad. The story itself was realistic and kept up a good pace. The fact that it was 2 povs and the time-line went back and forth for both of them, threw me off a bit. It was a little hard to follow. Over all it was a decent read and I would pick up something else from this author.

Writer, Tang Young, is suffering from writer’s block mixed with guilt. Guilt, she cannot even discuss with her partner. Tang meets Dee, a mysterious one-car accident occurs, and the storyline starts to get dark. Will Tang and her partner’s relationship survive as dark secrets start to come out? Find out in No Amends.
This dark and twisted romance will keep you on the edge of your seat with relatable and loveable characters. Angela Lam does an amazing job at making the reader feel the emotions that the characters are feeling and as though they are in the story. Twists and turns kept me engaged through the entire book.
I enjoyed No Amends from start to finish. Twists and turns occur in the story when you least expect them to. This love triangle will keep you guessing until the very end. If you are looking for a dark romance with a psychological thriller mixed in, look no further.

Tang Young is a writer who is trying to make it big. Struggling with writer’s block, she decides to get a drink from the bar where she meets Dee. They hit it off immediately and even though Tang has a girlfriend, they start an affair. Flash forward to the present day and news of a single person car crash is told to Tang. She hasn’t heard from Dee so she starts to wonder if the victim is actually Dee.

In her investigation to find out more about Dee, Tang finds out way more than she expects. Dee is not at all who she thought she was.

The book alternates between present day and flashbacks of both Dee and Tang’s life so you can get a feel of both characters and see their affair start. The author did an amazing job implementing suspense and romance. The author also does a great job portraying Tang’s guilt and shame.

This book wasn’t really my cup of tea. It was a really good book, however, and I am happy to have given it a chance.

No Amends by Angela Lam. This is the first book by this author but wow was it good. Its the first f/f book I’ve read and while that isn’t my favorite it was still such a good story. Its the story of Tang a writer who is having writer’s block and Dee who is visiting her twin brother when she meets Tang. Dee is a sales rep for a high tech company. Tang is in a relationship but when she meets Dee all bets are off. They begin a long torrid affair that is full of lies, deceit and dark desire. The beginning of the book starts with a car accident and thru the book you begin to unravel the dark plot full of lies and deceit. I read this book late in the night trying to figure out what happened. Its such a good romantic suspense that will leave you guessing til the last page!

I really enjoy suspenseful books and this one was something special. This was definitely a page turner and that made this read that much more enjoyable. The main character is a writer so I was intrigued to see how they developed their character arc.

I think the plot and development were well planned and written. Secrets, drama, thrilling suspense and mystery makes this a fun read.

I loved this book and hope to read more books by this author.

This was a fantastic, yet haunting book about a car accident that definitely left many people wondering what happened. Tang is a writer, who is suffering from writer’s block, who is also seemingly keeping secrets from those around him. Most specifically, his girlfriend Layla. As the book progresses the more one is left wondering how Tang is connected to Dee and if those connections are involved in the secrets Tang is keeping from Layla.
This book really is a romantic suspense. It is fast paced and I definitely did not want to put it down. I was left engaged from the beginning of the story and was left wanting more as each and every page passed. I also loved how the further you read the more question you (well at least I did) about what actually happened in that car accident. The author knows how to craft a fantastic plot that is filled with twists and turns. I definitely recommend this one!

This book does do a lot of time jumps, and switches from first to third person POV. The beginning to me was really slow and it took me a while to get into the book. However, it is relatively short and a quick read. It wasn’t my speed, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be yours, so if you’re someone who enjoys suspense and thrillers, give it a shot!

No Amends was a hauntingly tragic book about a mysterious car accident that left so many people wondering what happened to Dee. Tang a writer who is suffering from writer’s block, is keeping secrets from her girlfriend Layla. What connections does Tang have to Dee, will they come out, and if so, how will Layla react to the uncertainty about their relationship? Angela Lam did a wonderful job keeping the reader engaged and constantly connecting the pieces of this romantic suspense story. The characters are so in-depth that you feel connected to them. You question what is going on in their minds, and what they are thinking when it comes out who had passed from the fatal car accident that happens in the first chapter of the book. What a great way to get a story started, to keep the reader guessing and compiling clues from the get-go. I love a good suspense romance story and was quite impressed with this strong storyline. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Chapters have different character POV between Dee and Tang, and the point in time to help keep the plot moving. The steamy scenes between the two female lovers was just about right for this type of romance. The suspense of the affair and if Tang was going to get found out kept me turning the pages. Lam does a great job of giving just enough of the secret almost slipping out for Tang to be caught, and the loneliness she feels with having no family. The suspense of the relationship Tang tries to balance and the writing of her book keep you guessing!

This was a gripping read which kept me hooked until the very last page. This was a real page turner of a psychological thriller, with a dark F/F romance and plenty of mystery and suspense. The mystery element comes from not knowing who the stranger is who was in the fatal car accident at Hangman’s Bend. Meanwhile, writer Tang Young is suffering with writer’s block and also feels guilty for something she can’t tell anyone, even her girlfriend Layla. Tang and Layla’s relationship is going through a difficult spell, when Tang begins a forbidden romance with Dee. However, Dee is not being very honest with Tang and isn’t exactly who she says she is. Once the stranger is identified other truths are revealed, no spoilers, I recommend reading this book!

A psychological thriller full of suspense, some really dark moments and so much more. A bit out of my comfort zone but really liked the book. The author did a great job of world and character building, and overall a fantastic book that kept my interest. Keeping a secret from a loved one can make them feel shame, guilt and so much more. The way the characters react and process the situation shows how well the author connected to the story.

Love is like business. This is the first book I have read by the talented Angela Lam and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect. That said it somehow was the perfect book for this Friday the thirteenth. Told from the dual perspectives of Tang and Dee we are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions, revelations, and mysteries in this quick read.
Tang is a writer, and real estate agent when not writing. Fourteen months earlier she was in San Franscisco for a writers’ conference when everything changed. Her original concept was denied time and time again but a chance encounter at a local restaurant changed everything. Dee a sales rep for a start-up tech company in New York is in San Franscico on business and visiting her twin brother Chris when she meets Tang. Making a comment about being the luckiest to Tang changed both of their lives. That simple moment gave Tang a new concept for her book and the next morning she lands a literary agent. Dee is full of secrets and lies. Starting with a slip of the memory by her brother on her name and a knee jerk answer about losing her son in childbirth there was no end to the lies Dee spun for herself with Tang. Everything was going too well but something was off, one intrusive thought to check Dee’s purse reveals her real name and begins the web of lies being untangled. Tang thought she had it all, the perfect girlfriend, Layla, but a chance encounter and a dark desire she couldn’t deny led to a journey of realization she never could have predicted.
Whose car went off Hangman’s Bluff? How could everything start with something as simple as a name? While the world the story is based on is reality the characters are relatable in every sense, even to the extreme in some cases to people in the world. Sometimes the world seems to give you everything, giving you chances to be honest and open, but what happens when you don’t take those moments? What happens when you continue to build on the shaky supports of lie upon lie? I didn’t know what to expect with this book, it seemed interesting and under two hundred pages was a quick suspense for a spooky day. The thoughts I was left with had me ready to go in search of my next Angela Lam book as soon as possible.

This book was definitely not a normal read for me. It was definitely more of a dark book and into alternate lifestyles. The storyline flips between different time frames often, and sometimes that was hard to keep up with. Tang is a writer who discovers a woman she had been involved with was in a car accident. The problem is that she has kept that from her girlfriend, Layla. Dee is the woman she was involved with, and Dee has a string of men and women. It was an interesting read, and it keeps you wanting to find out what happens.

All in all- an engrossing read…

Wow…..This is my first F/F story and wow…. the entanglement of lies and truths! I devoured this book and could not put it down. I am new to this author and this story was fantastic. The lies, deceit, romance, tragedy, suspense and a bit twisted intent of emotions…….it was a roller coaster ride…..and I cannot stop thinking about it. This book will stay with me for quite awhile.

Tang Young is trying to balance being a writer along with having a full time job. By a chance encounter, Tang meets Dee and they both hit it off quickly….but Tang needs to be cautious as she already has a live in girlfriend, Layla. Tang and Dee heat up with a truly forbidden romance than spans coast to coast…but Dee is not always forthcoming with truths. Dee has a family back home but cannot stay away from Tang. When Tang tries to pull away from Dee..it is something she needs to do to stay with Layla…but Dee is relentless in her pursuit…lies are spun upon lies until a tragedy strikes and now the truth must come out. Will it be to late…

Definitely read and find out….this suspenseful thriller had me right from the beginning. I highly recommend this read.

This is my first book by this author and one I enjoyed reading. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author in the future. I found this book to be well written and full of twists and turns. A story about an accident and a stranger but is the person really a stranger? I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are strong, engaging, relatable characters that made the story easy to read. They add so much to the story’s entertainment value. I found this book to be fast paced and hard to put down.
