I really like this series of children books. I think this book is an inspiration for those kids who are always thinking and having big ideas. It offers them some validation and encouragement to move forward with their ideas if at all possible. I recommend this book to anyone who has children that are always thinking and coming up with ideas.

Amaleigha is a five year old who has some big ideas. Her grandparents always say that she will change the world. After spending a lot of time in her backyard barefoot doing things she loves, she has an amazing idea. But ideas need plans and actions! Which means she needs help! She brings the idea and plan to her family. She just has to share all the things she loves with them! And maybe even the world!! With the help of her family, friends, and even the community those plans are put into actions! They open something that will change their community for the better. Read the book to find out what her big idea was and how with help, she makes the world better one big idea at a time! This was such a cute story. I read it with my 7 year old, but younger kids would defiantly love this book too!

My heart melted and I shed tears when reading this book. I am so glad I read it alone before sharing it with my little ones because my momma heart exploded. This author took the hopes and dreams that parents share for their children and put them all into one beautiful display of love. The illustrations bring the story to life, as the magic wand is passed from parent to parent, making wishes for each child. It is a symbol of unity, reminding us that we are one world, and we all want nothing but the best for those we love so dearly.

I really thought that this was such a sweet book. I would recommend it for any new parent. I think that even though it is supposed to be geared towards a baby etc that it would suit even for a parent to an older child. I myself think that it would be a great gift for a mother to give her daughter as she is about to have her first child. The poems are very sentimental and sweet. I really was quite moved by this book. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful collection of wishes for our babies. It was truly heartwarming to read and gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. The illustrations were beautiful and really pulled the collection together. I loved how the magic wand was passed on from parent to parent and baby to baby throughout. I wish that I had this collection when my (now grown) sons were babies. This is a must for any parent, soon-to-be- parent, or even grandparent, aunt, or uncle to add to their library. I highly recommend!

This story sums up what every parent wishes for their child. It is a lovely story told in the style of a poem. This is the perfect goodnight book to read to your child. The book has beautiful illustrations and really brings home how much a parent loves their child. Defined worth the buy as it will become one of your favorites to read to your babies.

A wonderful tale about a young girl with an amazing idea to turn something she lives into a place everyone could enjoy. Some people find a precious gift and hide it away where only they can enjoy it, but Amaleigha chose to share her special place. This would be a lovely story to read to your children and teach the lesson of sharing. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is amazing.

Here is another great read and experimental story for your children. Her love for all things nature was a joy to read. Amaleighas way of bringing others out to explore, would encourage all children and adults to want to see it for themselves. I love this author’s children’s books. She writes with children and adults in mind. Her story is fast paced and as well as easy to follow. I recommend this book for all parents to read and explore with their children.

Therefore, she puts her plan to action with the help her parents, grandmother, and brother. People around the community start taking notice, and are surprised by Amaleigha plan. This is a must read to find out what she is able to do.

I really love the simplicity and sing-songy nature of this book. It’s a great book for parents to read to their kids at bedtime. It would make a fantastic baby shower gift. The illustrations were magical and I loved the imagery of the passing of the wand throughout the book. Great book that definitely gets you right in the feels with all of the things we wish for our children.

Amaleigha Loves a Good Story by Janice Pratt

This was a short but cute read. The grownups around her always talk about how caring and thoughtful Amaleigha is. She can be seen making a card for someone or planning a surprise.
Amaleigha also loved to read and visit the school library. She notices that there are not a lot of books for people who speak a different language. So sets her plan into action so that students who speak a different language would have more books to choose from.
Reading this just shows you what can happen when word gets around. So many people wanted to help and raise money in order to purchase books.
Not long after that, the community opened the bilingual free library.
I loved this story and how the community came together to help out with this goal.
I hope to read more Amaleigha stories.

Mira and Carl are your typical brother and sister and can’t agree on a single activity to do… until one day their dad brings them to the beach and Carl keeps building castles and Mira destroys every single one! Can they actually have fun together?
This is a super cute children’s book about a brother and sister who just can’t get along and I read it with my 4.5 year old daughter who loved it!

My son and I really enjoyed Amaleigha and the Big Idea. Before we even got to Page 2, he stopped me and said “there are so many words and I didn’t expect that. I visioned all the stuff without it being in the pictures.” Despite being 6 years old and not knowing the right words, he it not wrong. There are a lot of words for a children’s book- so this is more of a parent or teacher read story. Not so much a beginning reader, but it was a great story. The idea was a big idea for anyone, let alone a 5 year old. But it was a good idea and cute. I love the resources at the end, in case you and your child want to create their own version. The illustrations were bright and cute. We have another of her stories on our TBR list.

A sweet story to share with loved ones, especially young ones. This is a nice book to read to your children to enjoy quiet and quality time. A nice way to instill love and to show our children how special that they are. There are nice illustrations to go with the thoughtful words. I enjoyed this quick read and will be sharing it with anyone who has little ones.

Such a beautiful story. I love the way the author used a poetic writing style. I enjoyed this book so much. The illustrations were amazing. I cannot wait to read this book to my own little bundle of joy. I highly recommend this book to parents.

Another cute story by Lois Wickstrom. My 5yo son and I love her books. There were a lot of unexpected surprises in here. You definitely get to use your imagination and take a quick little adventure with the main character Caspian. We both loved it.

This book had pulled at my heartstrings while reading to my kids. They loved seeing the different families, and as the wand was passed from family to family. My kids were ages 6 and 10 but they loved the book just the same. The message was sweet and heartfelt, and definitely should be a staple in every family. My family will be reading it as a bedtime routine from now on!

I have read several books by this author. I did enjoy this book and could connect with it. I am conflicted on how I would use it with the children that I work with. I feel like there wasn’t a clear resolution for the siblings that younger children can understand. This would be better for children that can infer decision making. Overall, it was a nice, relatable story.

Another great inspirational children’s book. This is the second book by this author that I have read and I am quite impressed. I really like how the book grabs the reader and inspires them. This book is definitely a great book for your children and I only wish mine were young enough for this. I will definitely be recommending this book to friends who have younger children or grandchildren.

I love Lois Wickstrom. Many books by this author have an educational component. This book about the daily conflicts between siblings might open the door to initiating conversations about problem solving and discussing appropriate solutions. The most important talking point might be to make sure everyone is continuing to enjoy the game.

This was such a cute children’s book and one my little boy really enjoyed – he loves cats so I knew it would be a hit! The illustrations were great and really engaging. The storyline is really easy to follow and certainly gets children imaginations going as they try to think of how to rescue the kitten from the tree along with Caspian and his Grandpa.
This author has such a wonderful imagination and her creative stories definitely capture the interest of children and engage them well in her stories.

Such a beautifully inspirational and inclusive story. Shows the true heart of children and what can happen when adults get on board with the ideas of the children in their lives rather than dismissing them because they are young. The children are the future as the saying goes and they see things so clearly. Amaleigha is definitely one of those children with a beautiful heart and I would recommend this book for all parents to read with their little ones.

Amaleigh loves her town and loves to read. Seeing that her local library is facing challenges gives her the idea and inspiration to make changes. She wants her friends and community who speak different languages to enjoy the library and strives to make sure they do! I loved this book!!
