This book was a great read! I felt the author described the main characters’ chemistry with one another in enough detail to feel it as a reader. I enjoyed the characters in the story and feel they were well-developed and believable. I fell in love with Gil’s eccentric family. A plot twist near the middle of the book left me wanting to not put down the book until I the end. I recommend this book for anyone wanting a feel-good romance story.

The collection as a whole comes off to, in my opinion, a rougher start. I found it hard to get into the book, to connect with the story and the characters. I found it a bit difficult to keep everything organized in my mind as I read, but as I progressed into the second book, things fell into place and were easier to understand. I did end up liking these book, and maybe one of these days I’ll go back and give the first one another try. The sequel, however is my favorite out of the three.

This was a really hard read for me on many levels, so this review will be short.

The book started off okay, but as things progressed I became uncomfortable reading this kind of romance and struggled to finish reading it. FOR MATURE READERS 18+.

Van seriously is an amazing character! The author has done a brilliant job on this series. Now we are in your seventeenth year of life, and she has a lot more to conquer. With the games as part of her senior exams, there is a lot of pressure! Of course she has typical school drama like her best friend and ex. Other than that, when she enters Balish territory, that is where all heck breaks loose and you are on the edge of your seat, nose in the book. I truly loved this series! 🙂

Onto the next book! Vanessa thought this time summer would go well. Well apparently it was going to be monster filled instead. After her Dad, she had a necklace left by him, but she has not been able to find it. To add to all the drama, her stepmother ends up having a boyfriend. She’s got a lot on her plate in this book, but she faces it all with courage and faith. There is a lot more drama to endure, but it is all worth the read! Now to the third book! 🙂

Vanessa Cross thought of herself as an ordinary teen, but little did she know the big secrets that have been hidden from her her whole life. Her dad is usually off island on big trips for his work, but it’s actually another reason to be seen when read. When she gets a wake up call and is to report to the reservation area, she knows something is up. A lot of adventure is ahead of her, and it’s up to her to figure it all out. This book has been an exciting read and I went straight to the second book for more!

Talk about a book I couldn’t put down! I personally love all things vintage and then this book added suspense and mystery. From the very beginning of the book you can tell there is something special about Tess. She is connected to the past in a way that’s unique and powerful.

This was such a wonderful story and the character development was amazing! When I was finished with this book, I kept wanting more!

So imagine you being able to touch a piece of old clothing and all of a sudden having visions of that clothing and the owner and their past at that time. How awesome is that? Tessa ended up owning her own vintage store full of old clothing that she has seen visions of. What she didn’t expect was to go to a runway show of vintage clothing and the dress she wears is of their family past murder that us different than told. Trey on the other hand is not sure how to understand, but if it helps understand what happens, then he will help. What happens between them and understanding the scenario of what truly happened in the past is such a fun mystery read.

The Worry KnotThe Worry Knot by Mary Evanson Bleckwehl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book! The author portrays believable, realistic characters. Rourke’s “worry knot” is something I found relatable for both adults who remember the worries of middle school, as well as for pre-teens and teens going through middle school drama. Because of the excellent writing, I could picture the scenes described and envision the characters involved. An exciting and unexpected event kept me engaged and wanting to read without putting the book down. I recommend this book for middle school students and adults.

This short romance is a delightful romp about the relationship between Emily and Desmond. Emily is a dedicated student working her way through school. She has never really had time for relationships. Desmond has the reputation for lots of quick romances in the hospital. When they have a chance encounter that leads to sparks, Emily decides that she wants the Dr. D everyone talks about.

There is so much heart written into these characters. They are like a family. This was a great quick read!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. The story begins with Gemma and what she had to endure and survive during her time with the Hawks. She has found a new MC she wasn’t looking for and finds herself racing bikes again. Will this MC be different from the past? Time will tell.

She is very tight lipped and doesn’t speak of her past very often at all. As you read through the story you will know why. She appears strong with a very angry chip on her shoulder. This story will take you on a wild ride and leave you in tears at some points. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to anticipate what is going to happen. If you are anything like me, you may even yell at the book from time to time. Trigger warning for this book.

I have been reading this series from its very beginning and I have become hopelessly hooked by the vivid imagery. The characters are realistic, and their motivations are understandable. Looking for intelligent, resourceful women? Check! Looking for strong yet passionate men? Check! This is a 5-star book and I highly recommend the entire series.

From page one, I slipped into the telling of this story and never left. Such a well written tale of coming of age, court intrigue.. murder, young romance, mysticism and manipulation. Somehow the author packs every chapter full and still keeps us right on track, connected to the story. Thanks to well developed characters and a unique magical ability this is a book that will appeal almost everyone. My first read by this author, and I’m hoping there’s a Book 2 on its way!

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Arabella has returned and this time she is off on an adventure along with her sister. I was very excited to see a situation we were presented with at the beginning of the first book became the main focus of this book.

The author once again does a great job at create a world where technology and magic must try and work together. However again like the first book I really couldn’t fall in love with it. It’s still a solid story and the characters really help bring it to life but it felt a little slow to me.

The Clockwork WitchThe Clockwork Witch by Michelle D. Sonnier
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I tried to love this book. It had so much potential but it never fully came to the point where I just loved it. I will say based on the world building aspect and the deep internal battles I will give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars.

As I was reading this book, I experienced a whole rainbow of emotions. The MC mother and older sisters angered me at their treatment of Arabella just because she failed at being magical which she had no control over. The relationship between her and her mother was one of extreme abuse and very degrading which led me to feel sadness for the MC.

I look forward to reading the second book in this series to see if we find answers to some of the questions left at the end of this book.

A HUNDRED WISHES (BAND OF SISTERS) BY MARIANNE RICE – REVIEW BY Ana Evelyn

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book had me shaking my head in agreement sooo so much! It felt so very relatable, while not for the same reasons but I have had similar fears that Gina faced early on in this book. Relationships, being confident, and being vulnerable is hard. With that being said this book was very refreshing to read. I was hooked and excited to see how this story would pan out. I was constantly rooting for Gina, hoping she would find strength and courage to face all of the challenges that she comes across. She shows us time and time again that she’s a strong independent woman! This book was empowering & made me realize I too should be able to face my own fears and insecurities! In regards to the other characters- they easily bring you in and you feel like you know them. I hadn’t read any of the other previous books but understood and loved most characters right off the bat anyways! Overall it was a really great story, I loved how true and real it was. Lastly Bryce – was a sweet man of a man! A man I think every woman dreams to find someday! Overall rating 4/5 in my book!!

Unlock the Angel (Seraphim Angel Order, #1)Unlock the Angel by Calla Zae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an unexpected read for me in a wonderful way. The author was able to bring out the good vs bad, love vs hate, loyalty vs distrust among all the characters.

Our main character Cathy is a strong independent focused career woman. She has seen heartbreak first hand having her heart trampled on. She picks up the pieces after expelling brute force on a nail with a hammer. That part will make you chuckle under your breath.

Daedriel is an angel who is on earth to find Rath, a former friend turned evil betrayer. Although this book has both sides of good and evil, you are left with an overwhelming feeling of pureness and wanting to be the best you can to yourself and those you love. I felt at peace and warmly happy when I finished this book. Thank you to the author who took me on a ride of the unexpected.

The multiverse is in danger, entire universes are to be erased from existence. Ancient twins Matt and Rashella must journey through vast worlds, universes, and even their own spiritual consciousness to stop an ancient prophecy and rescue their mentors from a grand illusion. Tensions rise as the pair prepare for their biggest battle yet. Will the power of unity triumph over the former celestial ruler, the devil who believes that only the truly supreme shall rule? Or will universes collapse, crumble under the weight of the crimson “god’s” greed?
What a wonderful read! I love this series so much and as always I was hooked from page one!!!! Such an engaging story makes you feel like anything is possible!! I really liked seeing where the characters are and how they have grown throughout. I felt really connected to them through James Talisman’s writing. He builds beautiful and vast worlds with such striking characters. My favorite part was how the Spirit Servitors were described! Just a fantastical book that blends the Ancient with the Futuristic in a fun and unique way. It’s both an epic and satisfying read!!!! I cannot say enough about this book, I highly recommend it!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. The way the author brought out the issue of women’s equality in the workforce was brilliant. She was able to show the good and bad of each side, leaving me as a woman angry at times and cheering at others. The relationship between two people who met accidentally at an art studio had fireworks bursting between the two. Both are very highly motivated in their field of work and show that if you fight hard enough and have the right support anything can happen.

Wow! From the first page I was hooked! I couldn’t put this book down! I absolutely loved how the story is laid out so you know exactly whose point of view you are following at every stage. Growing up in a small town, it always felt like you couldn’t ever have a secret because everyone knew everything but this story showed it is still possible not to know everything even if you think you do.

I will say there were many points in the story where I was shocked or thrown. It was not as predictable as I initially thought it would be! I loved it!

Trevor is a football player who usually only focuses on his game, but it was fate. They met at a Bob Ross paint event, and the love fell in the air with happy trees. There is a lot of love, sex, drama, and so much more combined. I could not stop reading this, but once again, worth it! 🙂

She came out alive but with scars that made her self conscious about herself. Now living in the same town as most of her band of sisters, she meets a man name Bryce. Once he came in, he never wanted to leave. Their romance is so sweet, serious, and passionate. Definitely a book to leave a smile on your face.

Fantastic world building…in space! Even though we dropped right into the action, I was able to understand all the factions, each with just enough description to let me know which side of the playing field they stood on.
Our main character is tough, she hangs on no matter what. If you like a heroine that fights for what’s right, knows her worth and gives her all, this story is for you. The author weaves the storylines together seamlessly, with enough background to provide motivation, loyalty, strengths and weaknesses.. all parts that make up a fabulous adventure!

The author has hit it out of the park with this continued series. I can not get enough of this tight knit group of Italian mafia family friends. Elena has been in hiding for so long. At the end of the last book, her secret came out that she was still alive. The family went nuts. Now things have gotten too dangerous with the Russian mafia that she has to be found. Who will find her first? The Russians or the Italians? This book had so many shocks for Elena that your heart will be pulled in so many directions. If you have read the previous books, this is a must read for sure. The author brings these characters to life in each book, you feel like you would want to be friends and know them. Amazing writing.

This is my first reading adventure by this author. I read this book as a stand-alone, even though this is book 4 in the series. I was able to follow the story without having to have read the previous 3 books, but I did have a little trouble keeping up with who is in what “family”.
This was a good book, but not as Mafia-esc as I would have liked. Marco & Elena were a little too sweet for me. They had chemistry, but it felt like the story was rushed to get it there. Maybe I needed a slower burn, or a longer book for my taste. But either way I will be going back to read the other books in the series t0 see if it gets better for me.
