When I first saw the cover of this book I knew right away that I wanted to read it. While this is the first book of the series I think it’s going to be a fantastic fun series to read. The main character is fun, quirky, and friendly. I absolutely loved that the author included the main character’s dog, and while this was not a traditional cozy mystery it was still a great one. There are plenty of twists and turns that make this not only an interesting read, but a fast read as well. So if your looking for your next amazing read, then make sure to pick this one up today.
Hot For Me is book #4 in the Balefire Series. It can be read as a stand alone. Hot For Me was the 1st book from this author I’ve read and it’s the 1st of this series I’ve read. It’s a long story but sooooo worth the read. I couldn’t put it down. Okay so I was forced to put it down a few times due to work and life but I definitely didn’t want to. The author gave the story great characters and a great storyline. Things got very hot & steamy quite a few times. There were a few times at the end I thought the book was ending then I turned the page and there was more. Definitely not a bad thing. It just surprised me a little. It sounded like the story was complete…. then….SURPRISE…a few more pages. Overall very enjoyable, entertaining, book. I must get my hands on the 1st three and I can’t wait for #5 to come out.

Being a spy during the Cold War came with all sorts of challenges. Miriam had experienced more than one of them. Her team’s current assignment is to relocate a defecting scientist and his family to America. But, things can never be that simple. They must evade other spies from multiple agents all while staying alive.
This book is the second in the series though it can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed Butler’s ability to weave an amazing story while keeping many things from the story true to the period and her characters having depth. I can’t wait to read more by this author. I would suggest this book to others.

This story will not be everyone’s cup of tea. The disclosure upon opening the book is there for a reason. There is a lot of detail given and at first I was like it’s a bit much but then Xena reveals a BIG secret so it will make sense at one point.
Xena has been secretly in love with Vaughn for years. He happens to be her best friends/room-mate brother so he’s off limits. However Xena finds out when she meets him in person he has felt the same way about her for years to! For months they have a secret relationship that they keep away from Veronica.
Veronica is left in the dark battling her own situation. Xena and Vaughn’s relationship runs into a messy situation once Veronica does find out. The relationship comes crashing down around them and well now I am off to read book 2 because I need to know the rest of the story!

With only 55 pages, this prequel pulled me in, and I’ve already gathered the next books to be on my list! Riley has always been on the go with her mom, but her mom swears this might be their last time. Cole is having trouble with his parents and his relationship with his brother. Riley and Cole meet at a party and end up kissing intensified. So much drama, relationships, and more drama happens in so little pages, that you have to go straight to the next book! Thank you for making this series!
This book is about Landry and the middle school dramas we adults can remember going through. She had two friends, they went to do a tryout, but when she made it and they didn’t, they got jealous and started bullying her. Then the peer pressure was there when they pressured her to do the tryout to begin with. I had bullies, peer pressuring, and so much happen to me in middle school. I hope I can say that any middle schooler should read this book and learn what to avoid and how to get out of situations. It was a good book to read with so much information!
Princess Mora was sent to for an arranged marriage to a Prince. That was not what she wanted though. She’s always wanted to go out on her own and learn the world. She meets a boy, Darin, and soon escapes secretly with him while the kingdom looks for her. He knows her as a different alias, but soon later finds out. There is much adventure, drama, relationship, and friendship in this book. I loved it all! The ending was great too!!! 🙂
Let me tell you! I was fanning myself while reading this book. I mean GOODNESS!!! Xena believes that she is the only crushing hard, when it really was the other way around. So many things happen in this book, and I CANNOT WAIT to know what happens next. So many things came out of nowhere and threw me for a loop which was awesome! 🙂
Maddie, Charlie, and Cole make a great trio together. They met in a dream when they were all little kids, and they still kept meeting up decades later. One day, they finally realize that the other people are real. The guys meet and go in search of Maddie. This made a great meet and beginning to their lives. There is so much love, drama, and friendship in this story. I loved every page! 🙂

The storyline of meeting up in dreams for years and they are able to share this connection because they are soulmates. Well that alone will make you think a little differently of your dreams!
Being able to build a connection, the connection the characters have with one another is on a different level. The author did a wonderful job at having them connect so well in their dreams that when they finally meet in person it’s like they’ve always been together.

My Inner Critic by Christine Bernard is extremely related to me. I have not read a book in a long time that I could connect with in such a manner. I have been known to make myself sick with worry and become anxious over so many things I face in daily life. People have not always been the kindest to me throughout my life, so I have the tendency to beat myself up for every little thing that I do “wrong”. My life has been slowly getting better, but I still have my moments where anxiety takes over. This book is such a great read!

Hunter and Selma both drs, are trying to navigate a relationship but with past damage. Her, an abusive marriage and him, loss of a loved one. Selma gets some surprising news and gets spooked and runs away to work with drs in a third world country. A deadly outbreak spreads fast and kills many. The drs work quickly to save who they can, find out where the disease came from, who made it and why. The author for sure did lots of research for the medical portions of the book. It seemed to be written in the format or a journal and for me personally I didn’t like it. The timeline sometimes skipped back and forth.

The White Knight Cowboy: BWWM Historical Western (The Studs of Clear Creek County) is a great Historical read. I absolutely love this author she is amazing historical writer. I was not disappointed in this read there is a little bit of age gap between Dusty and Lovely Jo, but it wasn’t a big deal for me this read sucks you in right for the beginning. Fast Paced read with Romance and Darama and everything to keep you entertained. The only thing I would change about this read is to make it longer I could have kept reading about Dusty and Lovely Jo. I highly recommend this Author and look forward to reading more book by her. Thank you for a wonderful read.

That said, the quality of this book exceeded my expectations with its unpredictable twists and well-developed characters. It is exceedingly easy to see how the Garza family is close-knit. I look forward to reading more books in the Red Cage series.

Hush, My Darling is the second book in the Benoit and Dayne Mystery series by Winter Austin. I flew through the first book in this series and could not wait to get my hands on the second book! Hush, My Darling did not disappoint! This book had me on the edge of my seat as I completed the investigation with Lila Dayne, the Deputy, and Sheriff Benoit. Two bodies that have similar features make for the possibility of a serial Killer. Will they catch the killer before he/she strikes again? Pick up a copy of Hush, My Darling to find out.
I will have to say that it has been a hot minute since I read a mystery/thriller book that has captivated my attention and immersed me so fully into the action. If you like mystery books, you will LOVE this book!

Caspian’s UnBirthday is the third book in the Invisible Magic Wand series by Lois Wickstrom. This book is another great addition to the Invisible Magic Wand series. I love the creativity that was used by Wickstrom with the hot chocolate socks. I enjoyed Caspian and his grandpa’s adventures for his unbirthday.
This book is about the birthday present Caspian’s grandpa gave him, it was not your average birthday present. This year all Caspian got was a pair of brown socks from his grandpa called “Hot Chocolate Socks”. What is so special about these socks? They make Caspian float up in the air, but the best part is that grandpa says he cannot go to school on his unbirthday. He has to have a fun adventure instead. This was the first book by May I have read but it will not be the last. I enjoyed her character development and well as world-building. Her writing was easy to follow as well as hard to put down. I would recommend this book.

This delightful children’s book was a fun read with a great message! Our main character, Half-Pint, wants to hurry and go to Pirate School and leave the Poop Deck school behind! However, the new things that this entails are scary and hard to process for Half-Pint but didn’t want to listen to others who told her to be patient. The way the character’s dialogue worked was a little too different, but I understand it was a focused Pirate theme story. Otherwise, I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it for a young reader as it is very whimsical and touches on how difficult changes are even when we want them to happen!
The illustrations are just captivating! I find myself more joyful at the turn of each page to see how the artist brought the story to life.

When Dusty and Rose con their mother Jacklyn into going to a facility under false pretenses Jacklyn’s will to live and come out of all the grief she’s been under wins out.
Jacklyn puts herself in some rough situations in what turns out to be a secure psychiatric facility in order to get back to her home and cut her children off. She does it with grit and determination and comes out a survivor. She takes her life back and then some!

This was a very interesting prequel. I’m excited to read the full story and see what happens.
Riley and her mom have been moving from place to place without any stability. Riley would love to stay in one place long enough to make friends. We don’t know why they are on the run. They do whatever is necessary to get money to survive on.
Cole and Damen are twins from the right side of the tracks and don’t have any struggles with money but are at odds when it comes to their parents. Their mom is struggling in the relationship with her husband and the boys are caught in the middle. Cole is on his moms side and Daman is on his dads side. This is all causing more friction in the household.
So much happens in this prequel to get me excited the read the story and see how everything comes together or falls apart.

Throwing the Curve was hot & steamy almost the entire way through. It’s part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. (Reading it will make you want to read the others if you haven’t. Don’t say I didn’t warn you lol.) I loved most of the characters. The main characters were super relatable. I loved their bickering. The villain was extra douche baggy (if that’s not a word it should be lol). He’s the only character I really couldn’t stand and for obvious reasons. The author did a phenomenal job with the storyline. I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait for book 3 to be released.

Brooke May created this romance with the Russian Bratva finding Luke. Luke hates her name and doesn’t want to end up like her mother. Growing up her mother was always looking for a man to support her, leaving Luke to take care of her sister. When her sister follows in her mother’s footsteps, Luke ends up in Las Vegas with Nikolai Bazhenov. When she begins getting feelings for him, Luke flees and goes to Seattle. She gets a job as a burlesque dancer and lives in a studio apartment above a bar run by her friend, Tony. As Luke is leaving work, she unwittingly witnesses the murder of her boss Eryn. Now someone else has a target on Luke’s back. Tony tells her she needs security, and walks to Nikolai. Shocked, Luke can’t believe the man that she ran away from has found her.
Nikolai was a very secretive man throughout the entire book. The story alternates between the views of both characters and his lifestyle gives the perfect background for finding people. I thought his family was very supportive of his obsession with Luke. It appears that the Bratva puts family first. The thirst for power seems to be the predominant reason for the death of Eryn and Luke’s life is on the line, but not in a manner one would expect. The unpredictable elements added into this book makes Hit On You more than just a steamy romance novel.
