There Be DemonsThere Be Demons by M.K. Theodoratus
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this action packed young adult story. I found this story to be fast paced, engaging and creative. This is a story about Britt and her friends and the journey they take us on protecting the town from demons. They are all great, strong characters that make the story come alive. They are creative and connectable. I think that Britt is my favorite because she is spunky, determined, just a great character. I enjoyed watching her figure out her powers. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this book! My favorite yet in this series. I loved how I was pulled in to this story right from the beginning and kept me turning pages until the end. The characters took me on a journey that was full of action and twist and turns that left me sitting on the edge of my seat. I loved Jonathan’s character. He wakes up a vampire, something that he has hated and hunted but now he is one of them. Now he tries to make a difference but how big of a difference will he make? A must read!

The Light at Dawn by K. L. Montgomery – Review by Natalie Hanley

The Light at DawnThe Light at Dawn by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A heart-breaking opening to what turned into a powerful novel. I was in tears in the first 5 minutes. It reminded me of a Nicholas Sparks novel, the language was so descriptive and emotive. I loved the characters of Angelia and Mark were so well thought-out, the reader could not help but identify and empathise with them.
Angelia is living a happy family life in upstate New York with husband Dean and three children Jarren, Riley and Evan. After a run-of-the-mill morning, something so unbelievable and unpredictable happens that will change their worlds forever.
Mark is a single father to Ashleigh, a promising swimming star, and is a fully paid member of the NRA. His world is blown apart in a single morning, never to be the same again.
When Angelia and Mark cross paths, neither can deny the attraction, but nor can they deny their differences in opinion.
The story is told from both their points of view and this is an intriguing way to find out what they are both feeling. I found this book a rollercoaster of emotions and liked the way Angelia and Mark’s strong opinions were upheld rather than criticised. Neither of them was wrong, they were entitled to their own beliefs.
The book covers a difficult subject matter which is treated thoughtfully and gently. This gentleness takes away none of the impact of the book. I absolutely loved it. I devoured it in 1 day and had to take a break from reading for a couple of days to get over the book hangover!

4 Stars!!!!

This is the second book in this series that I have read and I wasn’t disappointed. I found the authors style to be quite refreshing and really brings the story to life. The whole concept of the books is really quite unique. I really enjoyed how the author brings a little intrigue into the books with a slight sinister twist. I couldn’t put the book down.

This book helps to get a bit more into Evie’s past and how she starts to fit all the pieces together. I love how she is able to help people and how sort of unique her career choice is. The way that she helps Jake as well as some of her other clients is just so unique. I like how the author shows a different side of escorts. I found that the author has quite a unique story line and character set. The series is really addicting and I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series as I am excited to see what will happen next.

This is a paranormal story with witches and magic. This story kept me engaged throughout the story. It took me on a journey of mystery and suspense twisted with magic. This is a story about some books that have gone missing and how they are connected to murders in town. The characters are great and Summer is my favorite. She brought the story to life for me and I could easily find myself with her. She made me laugh a couple of times as well a few other emotions. I highly recommend this book.

A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters, #1)A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Suitable Affair by Erica Taylor is a four-star read that will pack a punch. This is the first novel in the Macalisters series, and it shows us what a promising series this is going to be. It’s a historical romance that will surprise you, I am not a huge fan of the genre but after seeing some friends rave about this one and how it was more than just your typical historical romance, I gave it a go and enjoyed it. There was a bit of everything in this story, Lady Susanna Macalister was so much more than I expected her to be, what a fab character. Throw in a couple of great suitors and you have a great story.

Salvation is the prequel to the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. If. You have read the Ash Park series, you should definitely read this story. It will give you an early life perspective of Edward Petrosky, who is featured heavily in the Ash Park books. This is another great example of of Meghan O’Flynn’s superb writing. This book is full of twists and turns, and even though I want to say more, I’m not going to give any spoilers away. I highly recommend this book, series and author to everyone who loves a great mystery/thriller.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface, book three in the Gray Ghost novel series, by Amy McKinley. This amazing read was filled with love, suspense, and mystery in one. From page one till the end the book kept me engaged and I did not want to put it down. The main characters, Hannah and Jack were such a delight to read about. Hannah, strong and independent to Jack who shows that he truly wants to help those that feel lost and so alone.

Hannah finds herself and her boss on a hijacked plane carrying a secret weapon, finally sees that this is her time to no longer be a sleeper agent. Mike, who is on a mission to recover the weapon refuses to leave his ex Hannah behind. So many things point to Hannah being a traitor Jack must decide whom to trust but in the end it could be his career that he kills.

This book kept me guessing till the last page and I love that about this series and this author. McKinleys books have always been ones that I needed and wanted to finish in one sitting. I give this read 5 stars and highly recommend this book and her whole series!

To learn to trust again is really difficult. After someone violates you in some form. Jenny is so brave. She didn’t give up. I’m excited to get into another series by this author. I like reading about the characters in the background of other books. Especially characters like Brian. The guy is a complete mystery. I really enjoyed this story and I know the next will be just as good. The characters do a lot of growing in this story. Even with all the tragedy and danger. You see them become better people and come out of their comfort zone.

MOVIE STAR (21st Century Courtesan Book 2) By Pamela DuMond. Once again I was drawn into a story by this author. I do recommend reading these books in order to fully understand and enjoy the series. The author writes a story that flows nicely and never felt rushed or lacking anything. The characters are complex and believable. I really liked book 1 and the author did an equally great job of writing this one. Even with a lot going on in this story I never felt lost in it all day, the author does a wonderful of keeping readers both clear on details and engaged throughout all the things happening. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to read more.

Shattered LoveShattered Love by Nivia Borell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shattered Love by Nivia Borell is a four-star read that will shatter you. This is the first book in the Forever Us series and I can’t wait for the next one, I don’t want to give the story away as it’s a good premise. This in places is a great story, the way it’s done is a little overbearing at times but then on the other hand well done, it’s a real conundrum to rate and review. Bria is someone your heart will break for at times but then in the same breath you will want to strangle her at the same time, I don’t know if it was me or my current mood but it was all like that, almost like there are two people writing this story. It could be the fact that the story is told from several perspectives and jumps time lines that meant I found it to be wishy washy in places but amazing in others. Give this one a go and see what you think is possibly the best thing I can advise.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stepping It Up by Bea Stevens is a four-star read that will twirl you round. This is the second novel in the Liberty Lawrence series and it’s just as if not more charming and funny as the first one in the series, I would recommend you read them in order as you do get to meet a lot of characters and you get the most when you read them all, the underlying nuances that you may otherwise miss. Libby is so much fun, I don’t identify with her in many ways apart from the clumsiness and the shoes. It’s light hearted and witty and overall very fun, she tells a great story and one you will enjoy.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Future Memoir of Anne Jones: A Time Travel Romance with a Splash of Magic by Alex Bailey is a very unique story. Close your eyes and picture Stepford Wives in the world of Premonition (I hope you have seen both movies so you get an inclination of what I mean!). I loved both movies so it is not a far stretch that I also liked this story.
This unique story is written in a letter form – Alex is sending a letter to her sister telling her the story of her friend Ann Jones who had a vision of her husband dying … it feels like a dream at times (imagine yourself being fed up with your life and then imagining what your life would be like if …). It is a fun story, I have never read anything remotely similar to it and it entertains the heck out of you! It has a bunch of intriguing characters that keep you guessing and thinking what will happen next.
I did feel that the story was a bit slow to take off but after couple of chapters you get sucked in and will be let out only when you get to the end so put aside some time when you pick up the story as the ‘future is waiting for you!”

This is the prequel to the Ash Park series and I have to say that I enjoyed the chance to get to see the
beginning of Petrosky’s story. This book really helps set up the series. I found that the author has a unique style and brings the characters to life. I couldn’t put this book down.

I really like the opportunity to see what helped to mold Petrosky into the detective and man he became. I found this book to be a real good addition to the series and helps to really put things in perspective. I really found myself going through the emotions as Petrosky does experiences them. I found that the twists in this book really add to the intrigue and drama. I would definitely read more from this author in the future.
