This is my first historical romance and I enjoyed it. The suspense, the drama, the steam…loved it all. I like a good fast paced book every now and then so if you do too, read this. MMF is one of my favorite things to read so that had my attention from the start. I plan on reading the first book to this series! Glad I gave this book a shot. For mature readers!

Fiddle and Fire was a well written, M/M/F romance that I enjoyed reading. A young woman fresh from an arranged marriage where the guy was lackluster, cruel, and ended up disappearing on their wedding night, needed a change. She convinced her father to allow her to travel with her brother to San Francisco where everything was fantastic, friendships, and relationships were formed, until the past came calling. I have to say preference wise I preferred Issac but both men were attentive and amazing to the main character, and their friends/wife were loving, and knowledgeable. As a musician in my younger days I also really enjoyed the musical element that Fiddle and Fire contained. The story was incredibly steamy and had quite a few graphic scenes and is definitely meant for adults.

This ended up being a really good read! He beginning was a bit slow and I struggled to get into it but once I finally did get immersed I ended up loving it. The spice was spot on, especially for a historical romance which I also happen to love. I don’t feel like anything important was left out, so I say this can be read as a standalone. This a new to me author and I was impressed as far as a first read goes and I’m excited to read more in the future!

This is a really good book! There was a touch of awkwardness at 1st but honestly … relatable ! In my experience different POVs are usually their own chapters, but here they switched back & forth almost imperceptibly & I kind of liked it. The story flowed beautifully, was surprisingly exciting, & delightfully romantic. I can’t even decide if I’m team Isaac or team Walter, I loved them both so much . I might just be team Suzette, because I’m just like “go ahead girl get them double Ds!!” lol Derriére was a complex & layered villain & I felt slimy every time he was around. Fantastically written, & honestly might have been the best written character. I truly , truly enjoyed reading this story & feeling the glow of such genuine & pure love & friendship. Definitely will be reading more of this wonderful author!

I wasn’t sure what to think when I first started reading this book. It has everything that one would want form a historical romance. It also has a twist with some amazing MMF steamy romance. Let’s just start this out with saying this book pack a bunch of steam in the pages. It will have you wiggling in your seat, fanning yourself, and even blushing depending on who might walk by when you’re reading it. FABULOUS!!! It also carries with it the time period essence that you would expect from historical romance. Then add in some mystery and suspense. This book has everything to keep you turning pages and not wanting to put it down. It was a quick read because I just couldn’t stop reading. It’s like a can of Pringles, once you start you can’t stop. Be prepared for this to happen and make sure when starting this book you have the time to just fade out of your everyday situations and get lost in this amazingly well written book. You will not want the book to end. Enjoy your reading and remember it is okay to fan yourself while reading, actually I would say it is must. So good. Reviewed by: @bbohls

Fiddle and Fire is Book Two in the Hearts of Gold series. It is a steamy MMF historical romance novel set in early San Francisco. The story centers around the characters of Suzette, Walter and Isaac who find themselves attracted to one another.
Walter and Isaac are best friends who have travelled across the country together and settled into San Francisco. Walter is secretly in love with Isaac but afraid to tell him for fear of the feelings not being reciprocated. At that time in San Francisco there were very few women so when Suzette blows into town both men find themselves attracted to her. Suzette is drawn to each man for different reasons and finds it hard to choose between them. She also seems to be the missing piece to their puzzle as she ignites the spark between Walter and Isaac. The solution seems to be for her to be with both men and that way she will not be forced to choose. The only problem is that Suzette has some dark secrets from her past that will threaten to ruin everything.
I loved the historical backdrop for the storyline and found the concept of MMF interesting for the time period it was set in. The characters were interesting and the added detail of Suzette having a dark past added a sense of mystery, danger, and suspense to the book. Her past threatens to destroy them all and puts all three of them in danger. I took away a star because this story was told from multiple points of view which I found a bit hard to follow at times. Overall, an interesting historical romance book.

You’ve got a nice period piece with MMF. This all happens I’m San Francisco when Suzette enters the city. Isaac and Walter have always been there for each other, and have always had this connection. When Suzette came in, she brought up the connection and had them all come together. Then her past comes in with a vengeance. So much happens and it’s great! I didn’t know it was part of a series, so this is a great stand alone!

Interesting historical romance This ménage/why choose romance set in early San Francisco is filled with mystery, suspense, and old fashioned drama. Suzette, Walter and Isaac’s story, though a little disjointed at times, was entertaining. The author does capture the nuances of the era and presents and overall good story.

Fiddle and Fire has such a slow start for me. I did trek on and did begin to get into it. This was my first mmf based in a certain time period like this one is. I do like that it was a stand-alone but part of a series. The masculinity is so strong and never once do you question it. A nice read for those who love time period pieces and a bit of wild spice mmf.

This was an interesting historical romance. I haven’t read a historical romance with a MMF relationship before so that was unique given the time. The author does a really good job with all 3 main characters. All the information and backstories really helped to bring the characters to life for me. The romance was between Issac, Walter and Suzette is very powerful as Suzette can’t choose between the friends and the whole idea of not having to choose came about. The added danger and Suspense of events when Suzette’s past catches up to her gives this story another level making it more than just a romance. I did enjoy this read, it was fast paced but at times I got confused when the pov narrative changed between the characters at random times of the book making it a little hard to recognise from who’s point of view I was reading from but overall it was enjoyable and a different take on a historical romance. I would be interested in reading more from this author as the ideas were new and unique to me.

Wow what more can I say. This is the first book by this author I have read and man was I blown away. I like steamy romances and this really hit the spot. I found the author to have a very unique story line and really brought the characters to life. I also found that the author was able to use the character’s chemistry to enhance the book. By bringing historical romance added with the threesome really added to this. I was on the edge of my chair wanting to know how it all would end. There was enough drama added into the romance that it didn’t feel like it was too much. The characters really complimented one another as well as brought a depth to the book. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is a story where the past comes to the present and safety is put in question. There is a suspenseful aspect to this story as well as the steamy romance. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world. They are engaging, supportive characters that added so much to the story. They had me coming back for more as well as sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoyed the growth of the characters as well as the plot throughout which made the story easy and entertaining to read. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it

I like period pieces, but at the same time I don’t. Being Fiddle and Fire was a period MMF romance, I figured I’d give it a chance. And you know what, I enjoyed it. I struggled at the beginning getting into it, but I pushed through and fell in love with these characters. This is the second book in the Hearts of Gold Series. A series where, yeah I would like to go back and read book 1, but I don’t have too. I, personally, enjoy reading series in order. However, when I come across a series where each book could very well be a standalone novel, I do start out of order, till I have a chance to go back to the beginning and I read the whole series start to finish. Suzette, Isaac, and Walter are 3 characters to love. Issac I loved from the get go. Walter seemed like a great friend. And Suzette to start wasn’t that pleasant. Each their own. Each brings a different personality to the table. Each personality compliments the other. They are perfect for each other. But how does one navigate this type of relationship? As Suzette finds out pretty easily despite some hesitancy. No book is complete without drama, and one will always say. Unresolved past could come back to haunt you. Unfortunately for Suzette that wasn’t entirely her fault. It’s how they navigate that challenge to get through.

Fiddle and Fire: A Steamy Historical MMF Romance (Hearts of Gold Book 2) s the second book in the series and it is a great historical romance
Women are hard to come by in early San Francisco, where attitudes are generally accommodating. Suzette de Massey enters the city like a wildfire amid this laissez-faire way of life, and Isaac Stark and Walter James are immediately drawn to the gifted French beauty. The two of them are opposite in many ways, but they have been best friends for years. They are deeply devoted to one another and owe one another their very life. Suzette is caught between Isaac, whom she perceives as a roughneck, and Walter, whom she perceives as a gentleman. She still has a lot to learn, but she is aware of her interests. Men. Together. Isaac and Walter’s long-simmering chemistry is rekindled by Suzette, and the three of them together become a fiery, passionate trio..
Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique paranormal romance. The story brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to binge-read the series.

This was a different choice for me. Not really into historic romances. This one was not exactly what I expected. It was good. Some surprises along the way.
Isaac and Walter have been friends since Isaac jumped into Walter’s wagon. They journeyed across the country together and settled in San Francisco. Together their friendship has grown. They are firefighters. They are business partners. They are BFFs. Isaac doesn’t know that Walter is also secretly in love with him. Walter doesn’t want to tell him in case Isaac doesn’t feel the same.
Suzette wasn’t even supposed to make the journey to San Francisco. She was banished to America with her brother, a rogue, to avoid scandal. Once in SanFran, Suzette falls for both Isaac and Walter. She won’t choose. Suzette believes she will never have love. Isaac and Walter don’t make her choose. They offer her a new option, love them both. Suzette explains that she can’t. She may or may not be married. Neither Isaac nor Walter care. They just want to be together.
When the missing possible husband from France shows, drama ensues. Problems arise. Pistols are drawn. Threats are made. When Isaac and Walter have to rescue Suzette from a ship bound for France, tragedy occurs. It is beautiful chaos.
This might not have been my normal but there was enough steam and fun to keep the pages flipping. If you like historical romances, you will like this one.

I really liked the plot and the unfolding events in this story. The author did a great job of slowly introducing us to a romantic situation that isn’t considered the norm. It helped us to see how something like this might have happened in this period of time. I really liked the way the characters are developed as well. I found this read to be original in not only the time we are reading, but the way the events unfolded. Great read!

Set in San Francisco in the late 1800’s Suzette moved from France with her brother to escape from a life already planned out for her. What she finds in San Francisco is beyond anything she could have imagined. Walter and Isaac were best friends who shared everything. Can Suzette choose or can somehow she have both?

This book is certainly all about the characters. I was never really just about Suzette. The guys had just a big a par to play with their individual relationship, which I thought was unique for this kind of story. I thought the overall storyline was really well developed. I engaged with it quickly and looked forward to seeing what was going to happen. This is a new author to me and I am glad this is the first book I have read. Fiddle and Fire is an absolute MUST READ for fans of historical romance! Make sure to read the reviews carefully, because it does contain a non-traditional take on a love story, but it is beautiful. It has such a dichotomy of male interests that are each unique and swoon-worthy! And in a rake of a brother and an old nemesis, and the lovebirds seem to be at odds with fate! Will they be able to fight for their love amidst the fires and drama of San Francisco?

Fiddle and Fire by Ariella Talix was my first time reading a Historical Romance. The story is a MMF that takes place in 1850’s San Fransico. Our story begins when two best friends, Walter and Isaac meet the newcomer in town Suzette. Suzette and her brother Pascal moved to San Fransico from France. At first Suzette tries to push her attraction for Isaac away as she believes he is rough around the edges. She finds Walter a much more Gentlemanly suitor. However, Suzette could not have predicted that she would be the spark that would ignite a long Kindling romance between the two best friends. Together the three of them go on a sweet journey of finding love with just the right amount of spice. It all comes crashing down when someone from Suzette’s past slips in from the shadows to ruin it all. This cute and sexy romance is beautifully written. I devoured this book in one day. Highly Recommend. 5 Stars!!!!!!

Ariella Talix wrote an amazing historical romance that I was one hundred percent engrossed in from beginning to end. While this is the first book I’ve read by this author, it is very far from the last. Suzette moves from France to San Francisco and meets two men that happen to be best friends, Isaac and Walter. You’ll notice rather quickly that these two men are quite the opposite from each other. Once Suzette enters their lives, you can feel the chemistry building between not only her and each gentleman, but between the best friends themselves. The way the author paints each scene is just magnificent. I felt like a proverbial fly on the wall throughout the entire story! Fiddle and Fire has loads of spice of course, but it does have a strong historical romance backbone. Ariella absolutely does not rely on just steam to keep this story afloat. I highly recommend picking this up and giving it a real chance because you won’t be disappointed!

This is a historical romance that takes place in San Francisco in 1855. It features two gentlemen who are fire fighters who travel to the city from Pittsburg. They are there to spend the money that they have mined. A Paris socialite has just arrived in San Francisco to start a new life. When their lives collide they find that both men are attracted to the socialite. What is a girl to do? As she decides there is romance and steam at every corner. In addition there is drama and suspense. I definitely recommend this book.

A historical romance with touches of contemporary ways. This tale is about how you find love in a variety of characters.

This book was so steamy I needed to fan myself. I thought it would be at least a little cringey, but NOPE! The characters were lovely, I loved them together they complement each other nicely, balance each other out. The ending felt a little rushed but overall the book was paced well. Highly recommend to anyone who likes steamy romance

5 Stars Fiddle and Fire (Hearts of Gold Book 2) by Ariella Talix
Fiddle and Fire is the second book in the Hearts of Gold Series. This is a MMF Historical Romance with just the right amount of hot and steamy. I’m a fan of Historical Romance and throw in some MMF and I’m a gonner. I loved everything about this book from the characters that are fully developed and real they bring the story to life. The story flowed so flawlessly that I devoured it in one afternoon. Suzette and her brother just moved to San Francisco and she met Isaac and Walter . These two gentlemen have been friends for a long time. Is there more to their relationship than friendship? These three definitely have chemistry. Who will she choose? Can she have both? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next . I look forward to seeing what this author brings us next.

Fiddle and Fire is the second book in the Hearts of Gold Series by Ariella Talix. This is an historical romance, menage/why choose, MMF story, set in the early days of San Francisco. Sprinkled with a little danger, drama, mystery, suspense, chemistry and sizzle- the synopsis promised all the ingredients that I normally love to find in a story- but unfortunately I failed to connect with the characters or their story, which in turn made it difficult to immerse myself in the story the way I had hoped. Suzette, Walter, and James just didn’t grab me- and I had to keep my mind from wandering and force myself to stay in the story. Which was frustrating. I felt that some things were a bit of an info dump, while others lacked the detail I would have liked. The chemistry/sizzle/sexiness didn’t live up to expectation either- but perhaps that’s just me. I will probably go back and reread this book in a month or so, and give it another chance to pull me in, as maybe this time round I was just having an off reading day. So, stay tuned. Happy Reading…

An enjoyable and engaging steamy historical romance, with a MMF relationship which kept me happily turning the pages. Set in early San Francisco, where women are scarce, but attitudes are accepting of just about anything, so when both Isaac Stark and Walter James are drawn to the same women, no one raises an eyebrow! French beauty Suzette de Massey blows into the city like wildfire, and is instantly attracted to both Isaac and Walter, and is torn between them despite them being opposites. However, Isaac and Walter have been friends for years and owe their lives to one another and so have a deep affection for one another. Suzette seems to kindle the fire that has been smouldering between them for years. Suzette is excited by the threesome, but she has secrets and a dark past which is catching up with her, putting all three of them in danger. The storyline kept me hooked and the added historical details made me feel immersed in the time period. The main characters are likeable and relatable, and I felt engaged with them throughout the story. The chemistry between Suzette, Isaac and Walter literally sizzles off the page and leads to some extremely passionate and steamy scenes. I loved how the relationship between the three of them develops throughout the book. An entertaining read.

Fiddle and Fire (Hearts of Gold Book 2) by Ariella Talix. This is a great historical MMF romance. Its the second book in the series and I always say books are better if read in order. A beautiful socialite from Paris, Suzette, travels to California to change up her life and meet new and interesting people. When Isaac and Walter meet the French beauty they are both intrigued to the point of having to get to know her. Suzette has decided having two men in love with her is so fun she never wants to leave but when her someone from her past comes looking for her things become intense. This person is very unhealthy for Suzette and will destroy all chances of happiness for her if he has his way. Will Suzette be able to say in California where her life has finally become bearable or will she go back to the old life of sadness and emptiness in Paris. Such a fun MMF romance with just enough spice!
