Wow! This novella zoomed by but wasn’t short on the spice! A great little read for Christmas or anytime of the year whilst you’re lazing in the sun or snuggled with someone special. Highly recommended when you want a well written story but are short on time!

This was a quick steamy romantic read that I enjoyed. Finley and Garrett’s chemistry is off the charts. Finley and Garrett thought that the night they met and went back to Garrett’s apartment would be a one night thing. They end up seeing each other at the firehouse at the annual Christmas party where Garrett is playing Santa Claus and Finley is there with her family. To find out if this is going to become more than a one night stand then this is a must read. I wish this book was longer because I didn’t get enough, I want more. I recommend this book even though it was a quick read it was good.

Five Alarm Christmas: A Novella by Melinda Valentine is a short holiday romance that is hot and steamy from first first meeting. This book is all about the characters and the chemistry you can feel between them.
This is a pretty quick read as the title would suggest but is a good easy read that will allow you to pass an enjoyable few hours with good writing and great characters. As the first book I have read by this author it was a great introduction to her work and I am looking forward to reading more in the future.

Finley Jones is a lady who wants to escape her family on Christmas Eve and avoid them questioning her about why she hasn’t settled down or given them grandchildren yet, but her brothers aren’t put under the same scrutiny, so she decides to go to a local bar and have a few drinks instead. As she starts on her first beer, she sees a handsome man at the other end of the bar and then she decides that maybe she wouldn’t mind a bit of good looking company after all and it seems that he is in the same mindset as she is.
Garret Scott just wants to relax and unwind after four days on shift at the fire station, that is until he sees an attractive woman at the other end of the bar and maybe being alone isn’t on the cards after all, one thing leads to the other and it turns into a night of passion, but will happen when the next morning dawns, will Santa make their Christmas wishes come true, or will things go the opposite way? This novella is full of naughty and nice, but the only way to find out how much of each is to read on.

This was a brilliant quick romance read that connects you to the characters and storyline from the very beginning. This is a quick read but it isn’t lacking in anything, it captures you and the next thing you know you have finished the read! These characters bring incredible chemistry and have a brilliant connection. This is a brilliant novella read for the Christmas holidays! I highly recommend this read!

This is a cute Christmas romance Novella. The story gripped me from the beginning page until the very last page. The plotline is simple and enjoyable. The characters are fully developed and relatable. The story is about Finley and Garrett. Two people who want to be alone having a drink at a bar noticed each other. It was right then that they decided to have a one night fling to make their night even better. The story is a hot romance one-night stand. That is all it was supposed to be, but something happened unexpectedly. What will happen between Finley and Garrett? Will there be more than one steamy nightstand? I highly recommend this book to find out more.

This is a great hot and steamy short story. For a short story it has a lot of detail and felt like a complete story. The characters were well written and the story enjoyable.
Finley leaves her family home for some. Peace and ends up in a bar. There she meets an handsome stranger and sparks fly.
The attraction is intense between them to deny. When she leaves in the morning she thinks it will be the last time she ever sees him. How wrong she was.
Garrett is the new fireman at her dad’s firehouse. Imagine his shock when he finds out his one night stands is his bosses daughter. She is off limits but Garrett can deny his feelings.
Can they make a relationship work or will it all end up going down in flames.

This was a short Christmas romance with plenty of steamy scenes. Finley Jones and Garrett Scott meet up in Mike’s Tavern on Christmas Eve and spend the night together with Finley leaving before Garrett woke up the next morning. They are both surprised when they arrive at the firehouse to discover that Garrett is a fireman, who Finley has sworn never to date and that Finley is in fact Garrett’s Chief’s daughter, who is totally off limits. Finley and Garrett’s chemistry literally sizzled off the page and they could not keep their hands off each other. Having turned up at the Christmas party ready for Garrett to play Santa Claus and Finley his elf the couple still can’t deny their mutual attraction but neither of them are sure if it’s just a holiday hook up they are interested in or something more. This is a fun, lighthearted and very hot read with two very likeable characters who’s chemistry really came across in the narrative. A perfect short novella with a Christmas feel, just right for some escapism over the festive holidays.

Five-alarm Christmas is a great short read it ticks all the boxes it has Christmas, it’s Steamy and entertaining.
This Novella left me wanting more i really hope we get to see this couple again as their chemistry was on fire and their clashing personalities made it very amusing. Garrett is a confident fireman who just wants to let off some steam over the Christmas period, and who better to do that with then the beautiful stranger he meets in the bar Finley

I thought this book was written well. The characters were likable. There’s not much to write without giving away the book. The two main characters meet in a bar one night and decide to spend an amazing night together only to come face to face the next day. What happens when he realizes who she is and that she is totally off limits.

What she thought was a few drinks and a one-night stand turn out to be something more. But her aversion to dating firemen leaves her torn when she realises just who her one night was with. A steamy short story for Christmas. The book is fast paced but still gives you enough about the characters to want more. The author did a wonderful job sharing who the main characters were and added suspense to the first part of the book. I would love to find out more about what happened with the two main characters in the future.

This short novella is a fast read that is a bit on the spicy side!
Finley goes to a bar to escape her overbearing family. There, she catches the eye of a hot stranger across the bar. Before you know it, they have moved from the bar to his apartment. She is gone by morning…neither even catching the name of the other. Imagine their surprise when they meet again the next day at the firehouse Christmas party.
Garrett knows rule number one at the firehouse is never go after the captain’s daughter. But, in his defense, he didn’t know who she was. Despite the rule, he can’t keep his eyes (or hands) off of Finley. Should they try to see where it goes? Or should they just obey the rule and move on?
This was a quick read that was full of a lot of storyline building. I am hoping there will be a full-length story coming out so I can see what happens next!

Her brother is a fireman and he and all his fellow workers are very protective of her so when it comes to her love life there is tons of interference. Her familly is so ready for her to settle down but she just hasn’t found the right one. Garrett Scott is a fireman who needs to blow off some steam at the local bar right before Christmas because he’s going to be working long hours. While at the bar he meets Finley and sparks fly. Nice, quick, steamy holiday read. The characters were interesting, interesting enough that when the book was over, I wanted more of them. How Finley and Garrett meet, as strangers at a bar, and the come to find out that they are actually in the same social circle due to his work, is fun to watch when the drama unfolds. The men of the firehouse and Finley’s brothers are all protective of her which is sweet but, its annoying when she thinks she has finally found something that could go somewhere with Garrett. Their relationship and the draw they have to each other is sweet and I was satisfied with how it ended but, hope maybe someday there will be more with these characters.

This was a really quick read. The author literally gives you the briefest taste of what could be. When I reached the last page I kept swiping like more would appear lol. I was definitely wanting more. I liked how Finely was tough and didn’t hold back how she felt about other people being in her business. But I would never talk to my mom the way she did. I really liked how fun Garrett’s character is. He was ready to play Santa. He wasn’t scared to jump right in with Finley. Hope there is more to this story cause I will definitely be reading it. Seem like it will be a fun read with their personalities clashing.

If you’re looking for a short, steamy holiday read, the novella Five-Alarm Christmas by Melinda Valentine is it! This was a really good, enthralling, quick read. I was expecting more steam, as the title and cover alluded to, but it was still a good read. This novella was very well written, with some witty humor that made me chuckle a few times. I’m glad I picked this book up, I didn’t want to put it down, and I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.

Five Alarm Christmas: A Novella by Melinda Valentine is an erotic contemporary holiday romance. I remember reading this story previously as part of an anthology, “Craving Christmas”. I have read soooo many books since then, so the fact that I remember this at all says something about the story and the author.
I enjoyed this quick and easy read, but really would have liked more- in a good way, as it means I am invested enough in the characters to want to know what happens next. What happens after Christmas and the party? Where do they go from here. So, I hope there is another book coming that will allow me to spend more time with Finley and Garrett.

Five-Alarm Christmas is a great contemporary romance novella by Melinda Valentine. I had never read any of this author’s work but at only 37 pages I thought it was worth giving it a go. Although very short, the author has managed to pack a lot into this novella which I devoured in one sitting.
If you are looking for a short steamy romance then I suggest that you give Finley and Garrett’s story a chance. When Finley and Garrett hook up at a bar and have a hot steamy night together they don’t expect to ever see each other again, only to discover the very next day that Finley is the daughter of Garrett’s new boss at the fire station. Everyone at the firs station knows that the boss’ daughter is out of bound but that doesn’t stop Garrett from wanting more than the one night from Finley.
This is a really great story, albeit very short. I’d love to read a full length novel about the exploits of Finley and Garrett as I’m sure it would be a very hot, sizzling read.

If you have read any of my reviews in the pest, I often mention how I downloaded a book based on it’s synopsis but don’t remember exactly what it says by the time I start reading it. This novella is the perfect example. I will be completely honest with you, during the first chapter I want sure I was going to enjoy this story. This is not to say the storyline and writing wasn’t fantastic, it just hit the ground running. Needless to say, I ended up loving it. I found myself smiling more often than not. The characters were great, whether Finley, Garrett, or supporting characters. I could go on forever but since it’s such a short read, try it yourself!

I enjoyed this Christmas romance. It is a short story that packs a lot of romance. I enjoyed being pulled into the story right from the beginning. The characters are connectable and made the story entertaining to read. This is Finley and Garrett’s story. They both have one thing in common, they just want to be left alone. They both feel that a one night stand is what they need. I loved their chemistry and attraction together. What will fate have in store for these two? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next with them. A great story to put you in the Christmas spirit and warm your night.

This story started out very short and sweet. Then out of nowhere, BAM! Finley is feisty and Garrett is crazy in love! Melinda gave us fireman Santa. I hope this novella becomes a full-blown novel! Will Garrett the fireman Santa get his girl?

Melinda Valentine was born in upstate New York. Being the youngest of four children (and the only girl) made it easy for her to turn to books as a companion. As a young child she was whisked away to Baltimore, Maryland. She spent her youth reading books such as Nancy Drew, The Chronicles of Narnia and The Little House on the Prairie saga.
However, it wasn’t until she was twelve years old that she read a book (Stephen king’s IT) that made her realize that someday, she would herself be a writer. After that her first (horrible) manuscript came to life. At thirteen she had received her very first rejection letter. Heartbroken, she continued to read even more to learn about the craft of writing.
Today Melinda calls West Virginia home, with her swoon worthy husband, three hilarious children, and three crazy puppies. She creates characters that she hopes her readers fall in love with as much as she has.
