Soara, Lulu, and Zanie are friends. They do a lot of things together until they get to school. At Recess Soara leaves her friends behind and soars through the sky. She flys all during recess and her friends stay on the ground waiting to see her land.

A cute book that I will have to add to my granddaughter’s collection.

Flying at Recess by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Jennifer Crain

Flying at RecessFlying at Recess by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not my favorite Lois Wickstrom book, but definitely still worth reading. The story follows Soara, a young girl who has the extraordinary ability to fly at recess.

The story is beautifully illustrated by Ada Konewki, whose vibrant and whimsical artwork brings the characters and their fantastical world to life. The illustrations are not only visually stunning but also expertly convey the emotions and actions of the characters.

The story itself is charming and easy to follow, with a narrative that is both engaging and accessible to early readers. The themes of friendship, exploration, and overcoming fears are woven throughout the story in a way that is both subtle and impactful.
