Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4): This is the fourth book in the series, and while I usually suggest reading them in order, this book can stand alone. This is another wonderfully written piece of fantasy that I highly recommend taking the time to read!
This is Kimber and Fabian’s story: Kimber is a vampire with special powers, she is both an empath and a seer; she is able to feel read, sense, and feel other’s emotions, be it pain or joy and all in between, as well as see visions of the past and the future.
Fabian is Shaman; Shaman have used their magic for millennia to keep the balance between the worlds and the barriers strong. Although Shaman are supposed to only watch, he has always been more compassionate than his fellows, and it shows in his actions.
I don’t want to go into anymore detail, because this genuinely is a really good book and I don’t want to spoil anything for you! Please take a moment to read this wonderful piece!

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4) by CR Robertson is a great paranormal experience.

Shamans had kept watch over the globe for ages, using their power to maintain equilibrium up until the time when the boundaries between the realms started to fall down. Even the oldest organizations get tainted by evil when given too much power. Kimber’s magical abilities were kept a secret by her family until she was old enough to be drafted into the vampire army, at which point her coven commander learned about them. In a dangerous game where souls are the ultimate money, she is but a pawn. That pawn became a queen when a sinister magical king invaded her life.As the eternal races start to attack each other instead of one another, magic is changing. Together, they form an army that, alone, is able to fend off the hellspawn and keep them in the underworld.

Every page was exciting and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a unique vampire series. The story really brings passion into your life. I couldn’t put the book down. I have binge read the series at this point and I absolutely love it.

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I was anticipating this Book #4 in the Shadow Chronicles series….and boy oh boy it did NOT disappoint! I have loved this series from the beginning and I highly recommend starting with book #1. The cover…wow….stunning….the story giving me all the feels I love about paranormal romance with a mix of vampires, lycans, magic, danger, secrets and twisty roller coaster of emotions……
I really feel that 5 Stars is not enough…..this book was fantastic.

Kimber, the younger sister of Tasha, is a vampire with special powers…..Kimber was subjected to cruelty by her coven leader because of her gifts…and she feels that these gifts are more of a curse than for good. Fabian is a Shaman who has this compassion and empathy….looking from the outside in… but has this sense of being and helping Kimber find her way and make her feel safe once again.

Will dark magic and danger threaten Kimber and Fabian…….definitely read and find out! I am hoping that this author continues this series…..highly recommended!

Intrigue. While this is the fourth book in the series I had originally planned to begin with this book in the series, thankfully I followed the advice of the reviews and went back to book one first. Yes, this book I feel could be read as a standalone, but it could get confusing in some places with other characters if you don’t have the full background to this point to fully understand the weight of the situation. Following the perspectives of Fabian and Kimber this book is the beginning of their story, but it also fills in some questions of the previous three books.
Spanning immense time compared to the first three books we first met Fabian, 200 years ago. While a part of a search unit he began to have doubts and questions about what he had been told and the first was about a hellhound, Ginger. He follows his gut and is proven to be right that a soul born in hell does not mean that it is evil, it can live once more on Earth, peacefully. After his unit is ended, he is allocated to Guyana as his area to protect and keep safe. Time jump, five years ago, Kimber is now in her conscription and hates it but more, so she feels she is defective. She doesn’t look like a vampire or have the same appetite, though she forces herself to grab a bag she doesn’t let the blood touch her tongue. Unfortunately, the ick that is Castus is present and like her older sister Tasha he takes an unwelcomed interest in Kimber. The problem being her gift that protects her from unwanted “affection”. Now she is a part of Castus’ collection of rare and beautiful things. Flashes of his experiments flood her mind at first touch, and she prays to the Great Goddess to save her from her prison.
Will Kimber be free before she is permanently destroyed? Can Fabian discover the plan of the mad scientist before it gets too late? Is Ginger safe from the masters Fabian saved her from? Once again, the author adds so much to the world that she has created. While the previous three books built the world it never stopped revealing more of its secrets. The same holds true for this book as magic has returned and their world is now being revealed as Kimber finds her place in the chaos of war and life. Also, while Tasha and Levi will forever hold a special part of my heart Kimber and Fabian now have their place as CR Robertson has truly become one of my new favorite authors. Her characters leave you begging for more even when you reach the last page. Fingers tightly crossed for a fifth book soon.

Forbidden Moon (The Shadow Chronicles Book 3) by CR Robertson – Review by Helen Dawkins

Forbidden Moon (The Shadow Chronicles)Forbidden Moon by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 3 in The Shadow Chronicles, and so far, my favorite. It is still following the story of Levi and Tasha, as well as the war with the hellspawns.

Finally, Lycans and Vampires are now allying instead of enemies and have created a new army in order to fight the hellspawns that have emerged from nowhere. Secrets are flying every which way and the truth will be revealed.

The story of Tasha and Levi is coming to an end, and it is bittersweet. They have taken us on a wild ride throughout these 3 books and I loved every second of it. I highly recommend that you read both of the previous books before reading this one. We are also introduced to a few new characters in this book, and I cannot wait for book 4 for the spin off involving Tasha’s younger sister!

While there is a war going on with the hellspawns, there is also evil that is threatening to tear Tasha and Levi apart. They have been through so much as a couple and their love prevails through everything thrown at them.

I 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves action, suspense, and paranormal romance!

Forbidden Mate(The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson – Review by Helen Dawkins

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles)Forbidden Mate by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in The Shadow Chronicles and is a continuation of Tasha and Levi’s forbidden love story. Tasha is a unique Vampire and Levi is a Lycan. This book is full of action and more secrets are unveiled. There were a lot of twists and turns. It took me a little longer to read this second book than the first, but it is still an absolutely wonderful book. My biggest issue with this book is how much Tasha starts to lean on Levi, when she knows she is strong and perfectly capable. It makes her seem a good bit weaker throughout the book.

Tasha begins to learn how much of her life was based on lies. How far will Castus go to claim something that was never his in the beginning? Will the Vampires and Lycans be able to work together and defeat the hellspawns?

The book focuses on two things, the war and the love between Tasha and Levi. While the war is full of action and violence, their love is sweet and steamy!

Cannot wait to read book 3. Definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves a good paranormal romance!

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by CR Robertson – Review by Helen Dawkins

Forbidden WolfForbidden Wolf by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles and follows the story of Tasha and Levi. It is a vampire and Lycan forbidden love story. The book from the beginning sucked me in and I couldn’t put it down. I have read plenty Lycan/Vampire forbidden love, but this book was insanely different and nothing like I have read before.

There are a few steamy scenes, lots of suspense and action, and includes hidden agendas, drama, and of course magic!

Tasha is a young vampire with unique abilities unlike anyone else in her species. She is trying to protect her younger sister from their leader and is willing to sacrifice everything, that is, until she met Levi.

The book is told mainly from Tasha’s POV, but there are a few chapters where we get to be inside Levi’s mind and see how he feels about Tasha.

So much time has passed since they first seen each other. Will the feel the same after ten years? Will they succeed in find out what is killing every person they know? Will they meet in Paris? Will they end the war between their species?

Love, Love, Love this book and cannot wait to run and read book 2!

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the fourth book in The Shadow Chronicles. It is a continuation of the first three books, but this book is the story of Kimber and Fabien. I absolutely loved this everything in this book. C.R Robertson always makes sure in include wonderful imagery that pulls you right in. The Shadow Chronicles are paranormal stories about vampires and Lycans on their journey to love. I was glued to this book from the time I opened it to the time I finished it.

Kimber is the younger sister vampire of Tasha (who the first 3 books are about). She possesses special abilities that regular vampires do not have. Kimber has the ability to sense and feel everyone’s emotions and pain as well as has visions of the future. She has never felt like she belonged anywhere and felt like she was never enough because she was in the shadow of her older sister.

The story is very fast paced so hold on to your pants, because it will take you through almost every emotion within a small-time frame. It is an incredible action packed, paranormal romance, with vampires, lycans, magic, HOT chemistry, secrets, violence, and my favorite – forbidden romance.

“I followed Kimber out the door into the inky darkness of the night, because for her alone I would break all the rules and cloak myself in death.”

Fabien is the only person who ever made Kimber feel safe, who believed her, and who would burn the world down just to make her smile.

Absolutely wonderful book to read, and I definitely recommend.

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbidden Blood is the fourth book in The Shadow Chronicles series. I picked this up because the cover caught my attention, and I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this book and will grab the earlier ones in the series now. I have a feeling that this would be even better enjoyed after having read the previous books. The story focuses on Kimber, whom her family has hidden away to protect her. Fabian is a shaman who feels greater compassion than others of his kind. This is a paranormal romance that deals with vampires, shamans, and more. I really enjoyed the world-building and character development in this book. The storyline kept me intrigued and wanting to see where the story would lead. I did not want to put it down. Because of the great characters and story, I look forward to returning and catching the earlier books in this series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved every single bit of the previous three books in this series, so when I found out there was a fourth installment, I was over the MOON excited! The previous focused on Tasha and Levi, so this one was a nice expansion of Kimber and Fabian. Kimber is Tasha’s little sister who has always felt like an outcast. Fabian is a dreamboat in her eyes. I really enjoyed seeing them grow alongside each other as the action-packed storyline took us on a crazy adventure. Though you may be able to enjoy this as a standalone, I HIGHLY recommend picking up the previous books as they do build upon each other. This author has quickly become one of my very favorites and I bet you’ll feel the same. She has a way of pulling you in with her captivating writing style, and never lets go as the flow of the story just takes you away. I cannot wait to see where we go from here!

Book 4 in the amazing The Shadow Chronicles series and again it does not disappoint. The Author concentrates on Kimber (Tashas younger sister) in this book and we follow Kimber as she recovers from her time in the harem of her previous coven leader, and as she starts to find herself she meets Fabien.
The witches still search for the second elemental sorceress, Tasha and Levi continue to win slowly against the hellspawn, but there is more to it than they think.
Fabien brings a whole new level of intricate back story to the series.
This author has managed to keep me hooked through all four books so far. Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book) by C.R. Robertson – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Forbidden Blood (The Shadow Chronicles Book 4)Forbidden Blood by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kimber is a young vampire with a damaged past, she has been used by others for their gain for most of her life and her gifts have now become more of a curse to her, but because of this, she is treated like a fragile ornament and her family do everything that they can to protect her, but all Kimber wants is to be left alone. From being a youngster, her gifts have been hidden away from fear of what their discovery might mean, but it just meant that when she was conscripted into the vampire military, she had no experience of controlling them and her family’s worst fear became a reality when her coven leader used it to his advantage.

Fabian is a Watcher, a shaman entrusted with keeping the balance between the worlds and documenting all the comings and goings of both the human and supernatural beings within it, but all that changes when he comes across a vulnerable, pink haired young woman. For generations his kind have lived hidden from the world and drawn deeply from the magical wells of their realm, they have witnessed creation, separation and destruction during that time and vowed not to interfere in the Earth realm, however, the boundaries they have been protecting are crumbling and the problem is worse than they feared, they now have to make a decision about whether they can remain on the side lines.

Kimber is desperate to go outside and one day, she just does, she goes running off into the woods and escapes from her suffocating life, but her life changes when she meets another from a magical race she had never heard of rescues her from the hellspawn who attack her and when Fabian does this, he makes a choice which could change everything and everyone involved. Can Fabian bring out the strength he knows lies deep within Kimber so that she can finally use her gifts her own way and do the good she has always dreamed of and will it lead to the magical communities being brought together to fight this unearthly and evil creation? This is a fantasy adventure with a romantic heart, where secrets, revelations and discoveries lead to choices and consequences which lead to a make or break point in a war which has been waging for eons, as this rollercoaster of a ride takes you along all the highs and lows within it.

Forbidden Blood is the fourth installment of The Shadow Chronicles. That being said, this is the first installment I have read. Not only is this book fast-paced, action-packed, and drool worthy but it also functioned great as a stand alone! I had a hard time putting it down.
Kimber’s life became a whirlwind of new possibilities when a mystery man entered her life. She had been treated as a weapon and kept captive for years. Fabian showed her compassion and understanding as her powers grew day by the day. He was the only person who had ever believed in her. He made her feel safe while encouraging Kimber to reach her full powerful potential.
I loved it!

Kimber has been hidden away for the majority of her life. When she gets to her tipping point, she finds her destiny in Fabian. He sees her for who she really is and teachers her how to come into her power to take her rightful place in the role of the war they are in. Everything isn’t simple though and there are other entities at play that have only been watching for far too long; refusing to intervene. Can Kimber reach her full potential before they can be ripped apart? Or are they doomed to find each other only to lose everything to the war at hand?

I really enjoy this series. I love seeing the characters find their people and new ways to beat back evil. Fabian was a wonderful addition to the storyline. He brings his unique perspective to the table and calls out a lot of mistaken thought processes. He single handedly manages to baffle every one of the team at one point or another too. I look forward to more of this series!

I really didn’t think that I would be in love with a paranormal romance series like I am with this one. I have red all 4 books and I have not been disappointed since. I highly recommend that you start from the beginning because this book starts with Tasha’s sister Kimber. The first three books focused on Tasha’s story and now this book starts in with Kimber so you might feel a little lost or not understand fully on what is going on when something is being brought up in the story line. These stories are amazingly written and so vivid with details scenes that they really make you feel like you’re standing there watching and, in the story, right along with everyone else. The book (and series) had me once again hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t bring myself to put it down till I was done reading.

I was so excited for Kimber to get her own book when she was introduced in book one. Kimber is another interesting character. Her family has kept her secret for most of her life. Seeing her as weak and useless, until she comes into her power. She is then conscripted into the vampire army, and her coven leader finds out about her powers. Enter Fabian. He is a shaman that is supposed to help maintain balance, but evil has woven it’s way into this organization so it’s hard to know who is friend and who is foe. The character’s chemistry when they are introduced to each other is off the charts! I loved the continuation of the story from their perspective and the series just keeps getting better and better! I was sooo happy to see this book come out! I love the world this author has created and missed these wonderful characters. It is full of danger, suspense and paranormals. The first half was a little slow for me. I liked the insight into the male lead but got bored. The second half is all fire and brimstone and action filled and I could not read it fast enough!

I got to see some new characters and hang out with old friends. Dominic is stll a treat to watch and when he hangs with the gang he becomes feisty, crazy and curious. His dialogue made me laugh so many times but he also shows his serious old soul a time or two. I really saw Kimber grow in here. She went from a whiney loner to a strong woman. I could really *feel* it near the end just rolling off the letters.

Overall a great addition to the series! I loved so much about this one. One of my favorite scenes involved his house. Its alive! It shifts, rejects or welcomes people. I liked it a lot. I can’t wait for more as I am hoping more elemental sorceress will be found (hopefully for Dominic haha).

I devoured this book late into the wee hours of the morning. I could not put it down. This is the story of Kimber and The Watcher.

Kimber has been through the gambit suffering at the hand of Castus. He is now dead and she is dealing with her suffering. Her family has always treated Kimber like the weak girl needing to be protected by everything around her. Her visions are still rendering her incapable of withstanding their pain. In this book, Kimber meets the Watcher and this changes her life forever.

So much tension filled pages as the group of our old favourite characters join together to battle the hellspawn and other magical beings. If you enjoyed the past books, you gobble this one up as well. I loved this one the most.

I fell in love with this series as soon as I started reading the first book. Tasha and Levi were forbidden mates who opened the door for others to branch out from within the confines of their own races. When I found out this time, one of the main characters was Kimber, Tasha’s younger sister, I was beyond excited.

Kimber went through so much at such a young age that my heart ached for her in the previous books. Her abuser is now dead but she still has the remnants of trauma caused by her past. Kimber is trying to figure out who she is and where she fits in. She knows she is different from the other vampires and feels she is useless compared to her sister Tasha.

Kimber has no idea how strong she truly is. Her magical powers are rare and almost unheard of nowadays. She is one of a kind and when Fabian sets his eyes on her for the first time, he recognizes this instantly.

Fabian is a shaman, a race that has been around for a very long time, balancing the supernatural all while hidden in the background. This includes magical creatures and magic in general. It’s also his job to protect the Earth from the hellspawn that are all of a sudden appearing everywhere. Fabian is just what Kimber needs to embrace herself. The duo are perfect for each other but can they withstand the many obstacles in their way? While defeating the hellspawn along the way?

I loved both characters instantly. I picture Kimber as this cute and shy girl on the outside with a fiery and powerful inside. Meanwhile Fabian cares about everything and gives everyone a chance to prove themselves. Even hellhounds.

The author once again has done an amazing job with creating this paranormal world of Vampires, Lycans, hellspawns, and now introducing more characters along the way. I really enjoy their style of writing. If you haven’t read this series, I suggest stopping what you are doing and start reading!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series has been really good so far! This is the fourth book and follows Kimber, Tasha’s sister. This story really grabbed my attention and so far may be my favorite in the series. We meet Fabian in this book and he is a very interesting character. We learn so much more about Kimber and her background. There is a ton of character growth and I loved that so much. I really enjoy the way the author writes the characters and their feelings. I so enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.
