I absolutely loved this book! It had me hooked from the start. I just couldn’t put the book down. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling! The storyline was well written, the world building was great and overall a great book. I highly recommend.

Chessly wonders of her path in life and although all her friends are pairing off with athletes she would rather not go in that direction but then is Finn. Finn is not what you see although a footballer he is more than that, with his intelligence and just a nice guy but his taste in woman sometimes could use a makeover he is sweet.
Finn is not your typical football star, he is a little awkward and a geek but when it comes to the opposite sex he is clueless. He is never far away from girl’s attentions but the only one he really wants sees him definitely in the friends zone for the time being. So when he offers Chessly a ride home and things are looking good in steps “the mean girls” who totally trash all over things. Can Finn get to have a second chance and show Chess that she is the right one for him?
This is a lovely story of two people right for each other clueless about each other and then a sweet ending that has you heart just breaking. Finn’s character although is a football star is sweet and nice with elements of sexy nerd coming through. I also love the way that his character is portraited as completely rounded and has no ego at all. Chessly’s character was a great compliment to Finn’s but at times I did feel her a little over opinionated regarding certain things but maybe that’s just because she was not mature enough to deal with the situations.
All in all the book flowed really well and the arc of the story had a gentle build up which was a pleasure to read. The chemistry from the characters was just lovely and the secondary characters added the overall story really well.
I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series.

Finn McCabe is one of the Defensive linemen for Mountain State College. Chessly is the RA at one of the Women’s dorms. You would think being both smart and people who both enjoy Science would see the chemistry between each other. But it takes several failed attempts to make Finn see that the girl of his dreams is right in front of him. Then again when you have Jersey chasers hot on your heels maybe not. Chessly would like to be proven wrong in thinking that Finn is all about the Jersey chasers, but they just seem to pop up at all the right/wrong times when she and Finn are together. Seeing as Chessly has some type of past with a few of the Jersey chasers, maybe Finn has been looking at things all wrong. Only time will tell what the future will bring these two.

I love Baxter’s t-shirts. They are wonderful. They are fantastic. They are marvelous. The one about how he makes decisions. “Here I am” is all Baxter needed to advertise! 😂😂
I do believe the way these interconnected standalones overlap but don’t retell the story is wonderful. It helps a reader stay connected to the story and to the characters.
Okay…so Chessly and Finn. Chess wants nothing to do with Finn and his habit of giving into the jersey chasers that hang around. Every time Finn is winning points with Chessly, a jersey chaser or three interrupts and breaks the moment, sending Finn back to square one. For Finn, there is just something about Chessly that keeps him trying to impress her.
As Finn and Chessly battle around the bumps in their relationship, old foes keep popping up. An ex brings Finn to his knees in an instant causing him to lash out. Chessly’s nemesis tries to break up Finn and Chessly by having one of her friends say her pregnancy is Finn’s (it is not!). So many obstacles. But, all their friends are rooting for them and hoping for the best. Will Chessly and Finn be able to overcome any obstacle?
This series does not have a bad play. So far, each addition has been a winner. I can’t wait for Danny’s story. And Saylor’s!! This author knocks it out of the park (i know, wrong sport) with each story. You can’t go wrong with this series. Love it!

Finn and Chessly meet and their attraction is immediate. Chessly doesn’t trust that Finn isn’t a player on and off the field. Will Finn be able to prove to Chessly that he isn’t a player? Will Chessly ever realize how special Finn is?
The characters of Finn and Chessly are so well written. The dual POV is well done and so integral to the story. I love that we get to see Finn’s vulnerable side. This can definitely be read as a standalone. I feel like the other Wildcat players book happen almost simultaneously so you don’t need to read one before the other.

Three books into the series and I fall in love with these characters a little more with each book. Callahan and Jamaica are still around as are Bax and Piper. We get to know Finn and Chessly on a more intimate level and learn what makes them tick.
Finn is a super polite guy who hates to be rude, but that inability ends up making some things so much harder, like impress Chessly enough to get her to go on a date.
I get Chessly more than I expected, our tolerance for garbage and fakeness is quite low and sometimes we say things outloud when we thought it was all in our heads.
The crossover between the books and the lining up of the timelines is impressive, I don’t know if I could keep it all straight.
I love all of the boys and look forward to the remaining stories.

I didn’t realize that Offsides was a series, but it still read ok. I enjoyed that this was told in a dual point of view. It’s always much easier and reads much smoother when you can hear from both main characters. It’s a sports romance, football for this one, opposites attract, spicy, new adult romance. This author writes compelling storylines, with real, come off the page characters that really pull you in, and keep you reading. Overall a great read.

I have been really enjoying this series but I think this book is my favourite so far. Finn weaved his way into my heart straight away and I really wanted Chessly to see the real sweet guy who was trying to win her heart. This talented author always creates wonderful heartfelt characters and fun storylines to keep her readers captivated and the Mean girl element thrown in to give us all someone to hate is something I loved even if I did want to each into the pages and slap Tory silly! LOL

An entertaining sports romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Despite all of Chessly’s friends hooking up with Wildcats players her goal is to work with the athletes not date them. Then she meets Finn McCabe, the big D-lineman but he has a history of having questionable taste in women. However, as soon as Finn sees Chessly he’s hooked and is determined to win her heart. A sweet, angsty, steamy romance which I couldn’t put down. The chemistry between Chessly and Finn sizzled off the page. They were both likeable and relatable characters and I felt engaged in their story. I was cheering them on hoping they would get their HEA!

I love a good sports romance and this one is no exception. Chessly has always wanted to work with athletes but is hesitant on dating them. She especially isn’t interested in Finn when she sees what kind of women he entertains. The more time they spend together the more they realize they have in common. Could that be their jumping off point and start a relationship? Finn wants to show Chessly that he’s a one woman man and she is the woman he wants. Will she give him the opportunity? I’m not sure which book in this series I have enjoyed the most as they are all great. The characters had good development and the story didn’t feel rushed, nor did it drag on. So far each book can stand on its own so you won’t feel lost if you haven’t read any of the others.

Chess has her heart guarded and does not want to waste her time on players, both on and off the field. Shes attracted to Finn, but she’s wary when she realizes he’s entertaining the wrong type of women. This was a great slow burn, while Finn works to prove he’s not the type of guy she assumes he is. He’s a nerd and a softy under his tough exterior, and he’s got his eyes set on winning Chess over. This was a great read for the sports romance fans. Love the slow burn, the effort Finn puts in, Chess as a strong FMC. I’ll definitely read more from this author.

Offsides (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson. I’m really enjoying this Game Time Series and I was so excited that Chessly and Finn are getting a chance to tell their story. Chessly only wants to work with athletes not date them so when she sees all these jersey girls chasing all these players she is not into it at all. That is until she meets Finn the defensive lineman, he’s handsome, funny and just seems like a all around good guy. The only thing she dislikes about him are all the Jersey chasers surrounding him constantly. He’s determined to make Chessly his but she’s a independent, hard headed, strong willed woman. When it seems Finn has really screwed up she is done and by done I mean 100% done. Finn is going to do whatever it takes to make her realize she’s the only girl for him. This can be read as a standalone but I always enjoy series better when they are read in order to better understand the story and characters!

This was a fun dual point of view sports romance book. Chessly is a science nerd and RA at her college. Finn is one of the starting football players for the college. They hit it off from the start but then he acknowledges the wrong girl. A girl that Chessly doesn’t like and has had issues with before. They are both super smart science nerds. Chessly finds him really hot but isn’t sure she wants to get involved because of the company that he keeps. Finn tries to win her over but is awkward and makes all sorts of rookie mistakes. She tries to deny feelings as he keeps trying to win her over, you are hoping they work it out. Many of the football players live together and they seem to be all hooking up with a friend group. Seems perfect! This was a fun page turner that had a story that flowed well. The characters were very relatable and I can imagine all that is happening. I missed the first book in the series (I didn’t realize it) but really liked the second and third books and will have to go back and read it.

This book is an overall fantastic addition to the series and I think has to be my favourite one so far. I loved the connection between Finn and Chess. It was evident right from the start but the author knew how to develop it slowly throughout the book so you were entirely hooked. I was completely taken with their story and wanted them to find their HEA. The book is just as well written as the others. I find these books so easy to read because they just pull me in right from the start. The author has such an enjoyable writing style. This book was amazing right from page one and I am looking forward to whatever will come next in the series.

I have read several books by this author and for good reason! They have a way of creating a world you can get lost in quickly, and this one is no different. We start off getting to know Chessly and Finn, and you can feel their slow burn chemistry even in the first chapter. I was immediately invested in the characters and love almost all of them. Tory makes me want to yell at the top of my lungs sometimes. Chessly is my favorite as she is independent and determined! I always love it when books are told in dual points of view as it helps me get into their minds a little bit easier. Jump in for a bit of steam, some romance, and drama to create a magnificent read for your day!

Offsides is the third book in the Game Time Series and is a wonderfully written Sports Romance. I think this one may be my favorite yet of this series. The characters are creative, relatable and fully developed and make the story come to life. The storyline flowed so well that I read it in one sitting. I have become a fan of the Game Time Series, but this book is my favorite so far!
Two other Wildcats Players have found their HEA. Now, it’s Finn and Chessly’s turn to share their story. Chessly may enjoy watching football, but she has no intention of dating a football player, especially Finn, the D-lineman. He is constantly surrounded by catty jersey chasers. At least, that is what she keeps telling herself. One night at a bonfire celebrating the teams’ big win, she and Finn can’t seem to keep their eyes off one another, and when he offers her a ride home, she accepts. During that ride home, they learn they have a pretty good bit in common. Both are science nerds. Talking leads to an almost kiss until Chessly’s nemesis ruins the moment, but Finn is determined to get a second chance with his dream girl.
I enjoyed all the characters, except enemy number one, Tory, but Finn and Chessly are my favorites. They are so cute together, even when they are arguing. As with all the other books, Jackson, knows how to use the chemistry between the characters, and she doesn’t rush it, which makes the book even better. Chessly and Finn are perfect for one another. He may be a talented football player but he has an even greater mind. One would think Finn knows a lot about women since so many throw themselves at him, but he is clueless at times. Some of that might be that he is just a nice guy. I was glad that Chessly finally saw that and didn’t continue to think he was basking in all that attention. Chessly is no shrinking violet herself. She stands up for her convictions no matter what obstacles she faces. I thought they made a great team!
The storylines of all three books intersect somewhat, but the things that happen in each book aren’t repetitive. I’m always happy to see my favorite characters from previous books. This is a sweet, spicy read with some angst thrown in, but it was great to be a part of Chessly and Finn’s journey to happiness.

Offsides is the third book in the Game Time Series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a steamy NA sports romance, with angst, drama, emotion, chemistry, sparks, tension, and how love finds a way. This series revolves around the Wildcats football team, and this time it is Finn McCabe and Chessly Clarke’s turn. Theirs is a bit of an angsty and bumpy ride- as Finn fumbles the play and has to work for a second chance. What happens makes for an angsty read- but with some sweet, tender scenes, some emotion, steam, and just enough fun to keep things very engaging. Happy Reading…

This is part of the Game Time Series. This is a sports romance which is full of twists and turns and a path to romance which is anything but smooth. This author does an incredible job with the characters making them unique but relatable which really helps me connect to them and feel invested in their story. As you can imagine with this as a sports romance it does have a focus on the game which highlights the passion for the sport and all the positive or negative things that accompany being a player.
Chessly’s dream is to work with athletes and not date them. As she watches her friends getting paired off with players she really doesn’t see the appeal until she meets Finn McCabe. There is just something about him that draws her in but she is determined to resist especially when she sees proof that he is a player off as well as on the pitch.
Finn McCabe fell for Chessly as soon as he spent time with her. However when one of the jersey chasers shows up just as he is about to make his move it blows his chance with Chessly. Now he is determined to win her back. This isn’t going to be easy but he is determined to do whatever it takes. With Finn’s determination off the field matching his determination on the field how long will Chessly be able to fight against her attraction and their chemistry?
This was a great read and a story that I could fully immerse myself in. I couldn’t help but cheer Finn on as he fights for the woman he wants against all odds thrown at him. I look forward to reading more in this series.

The romance of this couple was right there and out for everyone to see. I’m not usually one to enjoy the sports but this series I do. I enjoy the writing because she puts a whole story and not just sports. I feel the characters are relatable and well-developed. I liked the whole story and really couldn’t put it down. I would really recommend this series to sports romance lovers.

4.5 stars This is another exciting contemporary romance book in the contemporary romance book in the NA Game Time college sports series, featuring the Wildcats college football team. Having read many of Tam’s books, I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. Tam excels in the sports romance genre, particularly in providing multiple points of view, which offers insight into characters not often explored in other books. “Offsides” encompasses the usual mix of emotions – angst, drama, and humour, while also exuding sensuality, passion, and heat. The electric chemistry between the characters is palpable, infusing the romance with wit and intensity, mirroring the dynamics of new relationships and high-pressure games. This delightful story of Finn and Chessly is a must-read and my favourite in the series thus far. Everyone wants to win at something. I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in the series, as always. As always, I look forward to what comes next.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book that I picked up by her. I enjoy her creative writing style as well as her ability to bring her characters to life. This is a well written story about Chess and Finn. Chess is one that does not date athletes and Finn’s taste in women is not exactly the best. What happens between these two you do not want to miss. They have great chemistry and their attraction is steamy. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout which just adds to their story. They are connectable and relatable characters that I had no problem picturing myself being friends with. Their story is fast paced and hard to put down. An engaging romance story that I enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this book.

All I want is a quiet drink. Guess it is too much to ask. Especially for my ex who will not take a hint when I tell him the seat beside me is taken—by my purse. My gaze snags on the super-hot guy in the reflection behind the bar, the one whose knowing wink should put me off. But my attention keeps straying to him. When football standout Wyatt “Bax” Baxter makes his move, steals the barstool from my purse, and sends my ex on his way, I can’t decide if I’m irritated or intrigued. After I caught my ex cheating, I know better than to trust a man with my heart. Yet when one thing leads to another, Bax becomes the only thing on my mind.
It was supposed to stop at a one-night stand.
Bax is unexpected. I don’t usually date football players. The fact that he listens when I talk is as big a turn-on as his broad shoulders stretching his T-shirt. When we hook up, he rocks my world. But my terrible history with men stops me from giving him my number. One and done, moving on is my motto these days. Though Bax lets me walk away, he refuses to let me go. He finds a way to live rent-free in my head, and to my everlasting shock, I keep seeking him out. Our backgrounds are wildly different. We make no sense together, but I can’t stay away.
She’s out of my league—like that ever stopped me.
Piper Maxwell is the whole sexy package—smart, independent, and the best time I ever had. When I wow the crowd with a pick-six during a big rivalry game, I know exactly where to point the ball—at a purple-haired hottie cheering in the student section. She insists on keeping it casual, but she is too special to let get away. I’m known for my tenacity on the field, something Piper is about to find out extends off the field too.
She thought the game ended in the first quarter, but I play to the final whistle.
Tam DeRudder Jackson’s love of all things Celtic led her to write the Talisman Series. Steeped in Celtic mythology, these steamy, fated mates, fantasy romance adventures are set in the mountains of Tam’s native Montana and the Highlands of Scotland. Rogue, the most recent book in the series, was named a best book read in 2022 by the Independent Book Review.
An avid fan of rock music, Tam never misses a chance to see a live show. Her love of rock music inspired her contemporary rock star Balefire Series, a sexy fun ride following the lives and loves of the members of a fictional mega-band. Play For Me, book one in the series, was a finalist for the 2023 Amor Book Awards.
Tam earned her BA in English from Montana State University and her M.Ed. in literacy from Lesley University. After a short teaching stint in Bath, England, she settled in the wilds of Wyoming where she taught adolescents all about the Celts and a bit about writing before she stepped out of the classroom to pursue her writing career full time.
When she’s not writing, you can find her working her way through her mountainous TBR piles, alpine skiing, or traveling to some new place on her ever-expanding bucket list. This is the second book I have dread of the Game Time Series and I just loved it. Wyatt (Bax) and Piper have unbelievable chemistry. Neither of them were looking for a romance but what they found could be more than they thought they would ever find. Piper is so strong and independent and Wyatt is more than anyone realizes.

5 Stars Out of Bounds (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson
Out of Bounds is the second book in the Game Time Series and is a Contemporary Romance/ Opposites Attract Romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I’ve read several books by this author and this one may be my favorite yet. Her characters are fully developed, relatable and bring the story to life. This is Piper and Wyatt’s story. Piper has a guarded heart and has sworn off dating especially football players. One night at the bar might change everything. Her ex won’t leave her be , Wyatt steals the seat next to her and the chemistry between them is electric. He wants one thing and that’s Piper. Can he convince her he’s different from the other’s?Can one night be enough? Can these two have the relationship they both deserve? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m already looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Piper is sitting in the bar trying to drink away her problems but why do these college boys keep trying to chat her up, so it becomes a game to get rid of them until Charlie her ex decides she is destine to be his again. After some uncomfortable back and forth conversations she hears low timbre voice behind her which saves her from her ex.
Wyatt “Bax” Baxter has been watching the firecracker all night batting away the boys until he sees that this one is different and comes to her rescue. Upon chatting and find out her name she proceeds to escort her to her car, but things get heated up pretty quick and when she leaves without giving him her number, he becomes obsessed with finding her.
Piper had her one night with the star football player but as she interacts more with him the feelings are coming to the surface although she swore off men, Wyatt is starting to inject faith in her that not men are bad.
Can Wyatt convince Piper he is nothing like her ex and hopefully have his forever woman?
This is not the first book I have read by this author and is not going to be last, you know when you pick up a Tam DeRudder Jackson book that the writing and character are well written and developed and this is brilliant.
Piper’s character is trying to shield her heart but as you read through her story you she that even with money you can be just as miserable and lost in life. Although when she meets Wyatt from the first interaction you are willing her to trust her instincts and go out with the character. Wyatt although is an alpha male character you get to see his vulnerable side and kind, charming character with each interaction the two of them have in the story.
I love the secondary characters and am hoping with get Chessly and Finns story as there is something bubbling and would make a great book to read. Can wait to read more.

Wyatt and Piper were great together and I enjoyed their characters. Piper was hurt by her long time boyfriend and she doesn’t want to give another guy the chance to hurt her again. Will Wyatt win their war of wills and get the girl? Piper and Bax didn’t have the easiest path but I loved their journey. She is recovering from a broken heart and he swoops in to save the day.
Following Piper as she started figuring things out with her sister Pippa (who I really didn’t like), parents and love was quite frustrating and entertaining at the same time.
I wish my daughter had found a guy like Bax while she was in college. He is q good southern young man who listened to his Mama. His manners and respect for women was wonderful to read.
Have I mentioned I really don’t like Piper’s sister? She caused a lot of damage to Piper and her relationship with her parents on top of everything else she did.
I love the dynamic of the guys, they act what I feel like teammates would, just like brothers.
I cannot wait for the next book and find out what’s going to happen. I’m fully invested in this series.
