Christmas is July anyone? I love stories set around the holidays and reading this on a scorching hot July day made it all disappear for a bit. Holly and Blake had me laughing and rooting for them from the beginning. Both with losses they must overcome and work through. And I love this town and the people we meet and see from previous books too!
I’ve really come to thoroughly enjoy this author and the small town romance that unfolds. This latest book offers yet another gift to unwrap with some fantastic characters, a charming setting, and a little bit of Christmas to warm my heart. Really enjoyed this easy read, perfect for a lazy afternoon.
Jae Dawson…… bravo!! This was such a good story, definitely my new favorite out of the series. Blake and Holly shows us that even when life gives you lemons you can make lemonade. This book is about two people who come from two different very tragic pasts and how by finding each other they heal. I absolutely loved that the book wasn’t just sad and filled with drama, the humor in the book definitely gave it an extra layer. Stunning book
Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson. This is such a good holiday read. Its the story of Holly who is still reeling from the death of her father. Who doesn’t love a good holiday romance. With the cute romance you dive into the world of Blake and Holly as they literally run into each other on the mountain. They are both good main characters and I enjoyed reading about them even if at times they were frustrating as all get out. I am interested in reading more by this author and I would recommend this small-town holiday romance to a friend! Happy Reading!
This was a fun 5 star read. I really loved the characters and was pulled right into their story right from the beginning.
Holly is a PT and lost her father tragically, since then she has thrown herself into her job and hasn’t been looking for love. She is struggling with getting past what happened.
Blake was a snowboarder who once had it all, until the big C took his leg. He is offered a job as a trainer at his friend’s gym, which helps him greatly. He ends up running into Holly (literally) out on the slopes. Fate of course steps in again and he ends up having Holly as his PT.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and it’s characters. I enjoyed their bantering and watching their relationship develop. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. If you’re looking for a good holiday romance this is the one for you. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author. 1-click and get started today.
Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is the best installment yet. This is personally my favorite installment yet, maybe it’s because I love Christmas and Winter, or maybe it was just the characters, but once again Ms. Dawson made me love her story. Her characters in this book were relatable, both with their own baggage and traumas. But they learn to embrace their lives and each other. So whether you love small towns, relatable characters, or romance I highly recommend Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson.
Heartbeats and Roses is the second installment to the Hartwood Falls series and oh my goodness is was just as good as the first. Personally I love the way that Ms. Dawson sucks you right into this little town, it makes it feel like home and the perfect get away from reality. There is so much in this second installment including childhood love interests, heartbreak, drama, and so much more that made me love this book. While you do not need to read these in order, I recommend both books due to the fact that ms. Dawson’s writing and characters are just all so wonderful. While most Valentine’s Day stories are right on the nose, Ms. Dawson takes us on some ups and downs that we won’t forget.
Snowflakes and Holly was a really good read! This is the third book in the Hartwood Holiday Romance series by Jae Dawson. This is a standalone series and do not have to be read in order. I absolutely loves reading this book. It had great characters, and a great storyline, and was highly entertaining. I thought book was hilarious too. I absolutely loved Blake’s outlook on life and he had me cracking up. I also wanted to cry while reading this book too. It was so sweet and wholesome! I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series!
When I first saw books being written for every season, with each season having its own personalized romance I couldn’t wait to get started. Moonlight and Belladonna by Jae Dawson did not disappoint. Ms. Dawson not only gives us beautiful scenery, but a lovely romantic musical couple as well. Their story is far from perfect, it’s complicated and a little messy like any relationship but that makes it all the note relatable. There was beautiful writing, flirty characters, and some sweet and sexy scenes, all of these combined make up the perfect romance. I know I for one will be picking up the next book.
This is part of the Hartwood Holiday Romance series. This is a Contemporary Romance novel and is 182 pages. This story follows Holly, a physical therapist, and Blake, a snowboarder. These two are complete opposites as Holly, who lost her father in an accident tends to tread more on the careful side where Blake likes to live on the edge. At least he did until he lost his leg from disease. They first meet when they literally run into each other on the slopes. Then Blake’s physical therapist goes on maternity leave and guess who covers for her? You got it, Holly. This was such a great read that brings out all the feels and some great laugh out loud moments too.
Even though it is the month of July, I just loved this Small Town Christmas Romance. I want to be a part of Hartwood Falls. We meet Holly, a physical therapist, whom is not a risk taker at all after losing her father to an accident. Blake, a former Olympic Champion, is trying to make a come back after a serious injury. At first, when Blake finds out his physical therapist is Holly, he almost bails as they had a run in on the slopes previously. Both Blake and Holly must face their pasts to move forward. This book is very sweet, heartfelt, and I enjoyed this book very much.
What an enjoyable book and Author Jae Dawson does it again! Rose is an owner of a flower shop and a total romantic. She is a Secret Valentine to bring couples together, but not successful to find her own happiness. Liam, a surgeon, returns to Hartwood Falls, after a surgery goes wrong, but ends up face to face with Rose. They both realize they still have a deep friendship that picks up years later. There are ups and downs, secrets, learning to forgive and love in store for Liam and Rose. Overall great story and highly recommended.
Snowflakes and Holly is part of Jae Dawson’s Hartwood Holiday Romance series, but can be read as a stand alone book. Some of the characters overlap, but each book is it’s own story. I really loved this book- the characters, the setting, the meaning behind it… The book focuses on Holly and Blake, and both characters are so well written. Holly is a physical therapist, who is still mourning the loss of her father, 5 years later. She has a hard time with anything relating to memories of him, and has been stuck in the funk for years despite her family and friend’s best efforts. Until Blake comes along- and he somehow accomplishes more in just a few weeks than others have in years. Blake is a professional Olympian athlete, recovering from multiple injuries. Fate seems to bring them together, and opposites seem to attract. Holly is sarcastic and dark humored, where as Blake is very upbeat and silly. I highly recommend this book- it will give you all the feels. Sad, happy, funny, romantic… Can’t wait for the next book to release later this year.

I enjoyed this fall seasonal book in a small town feel. Bella, a teacher, is trying to save the arts program at the school. Cade, a indie rock star, ends up having to do community services and meets Bella. I love Bella and Cade’s chemistry and the story behind each character. I have to say, Bella’s mom made me laugh on a few occasions, being Italian and “saucy”. Both Bella and Cade have some walls to protect themselves from being hurt, will their spark blossom to romance? Read this book and find out, I highly recommend this contemporary romance!

This lovely small town sweet Christmas romance really put me in the festive spirit even though it’s only July and the UK is experiencing a heatwave. I loved being back in Hartwood and as usual the small town setting was bought to life by the author. I’ve enjoyed the previous novels in this series so was looking forward to this one and was not disappointed, each novel is a standalone story. This is a heartwarming romance between a former Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Blake and physical therapist Holly.
Blake Bellows always lived life on the edge until he suffered from a degenerative bone disease and lost his left leg and his career. However, he is determined to get back into the top level of the athletic world and so is working with a physiotherapist, who happens to be Holly. Since her father died in a mountaineering accident Holly Maryn plays it safe and is looking forward to another Christmas season working and being with friends, until she meets Blake and wants to help him recover. As the couple spend time together they find they have more in common than they first thought and as they overcome their fears together love blossoms.
There couldn’t be a better setting to fall in love in than the twinkling mistletoe-clad winter wonderland that is Hartwood and I felt completely immersed in this story as I could picture the setting. Holly and Blake are wonderfully relatable characters and I loved how the book was written from both their point of views, enabling the reader to get to know them both better and feel engaged with them. I thought how their relationship developed was realistic and the chemistry between them came across in the narrative and led to steamy scenes. An enjoyable Christmas romance which I recommend and I look forward to re-reading it in December.

I adore Christmas romances, and this is no exception. It’s so flipping lovely and warmed my heart. Again, Dawson’s writing is amazing, and the characters are likable having a realistic feel to them. Holly is a physical therapist who is careful with everything in her life especially since a tragic accident took the life of her father. Blake is an interesting character, a former athlete who lost his leg to degenerative bone disease, he has refused to let that stop him and tries ever harder to get back to his former athletic glory. But an accident has him all tangled up with Holly he struggles to get away from her and her honesty. Honestly, I loved this, it warmed my heart. A story about giving love another chance and showing that sometimes taking risks is worth it, even if the risk is opening your heart and letting someone love you. Really recommend.
Snowflakes and Holly by Jae Dawson is A Hartwood Holiday Romance.
Holly is cautious and plays it safe though she never used to be like that. Losing her father has changed her tremendously and five years later she’s still stuck. Blake was the type to risk it all until his career ended. All he wants is to be back on top like before everything crashed around him. When these two, quite literally, run into each other, Blake’s life changes yet again. All Holly wants is to see him recover, maybe more than anyone else. Will these two be able to overcome their fears together?
I really enjoyed this book! Holly is such a relatable character. You could almost feel her heartbreak and grief come off the pages. Holly was so well written. Holly and Blake together were such a sweet couple. I definitely recommend!
Snowflakes and Holly (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson
4 Stars
I was so happy to return to Hartwood Falls. I have fallen in love with this little town since reading the first in this series. I was looking forward to the Christmas theme and even asked for it in my last review. I think the town is what I love most about this series, that and the other characters that show up in each story. Maybe it’s that I need more of the relationships forming to connect these characters as couples. I love each one of them and their backstories and their personalities but for some reason I’m having a problem with the connections formed. It’s hard to explain. In saying that, it does not take away from enjoying these books. I think this one might be my favorite. I did laugh out loud quite a few times and loved the setting that was described in this story. I truly want to go to Hartwood Falls, and would love to be a part of this small town. This author has a super smooth writing style which I enjoy and I’ve read each of her books in this series in one sitting. So they are absolutely hard to put down. Each one could be read as a standalone with no problem, but they are all worth reading.
Great story and definitely looking forward to the next!
Rose and Liam, a secret romance from 20 years ago that crashed has now been unintentionally reunited. A long family feud gets in the middle of things. Can they come back together? Can Liam get over the hard feelings he has? These two take the most emotional roller coaster. I felt every emotion: fear, anger, love, etc. I rooted for them to come together. Hartwood is a town that I would love to live in. Highly recommend.
Snowflakes and Holly by Jae Dawson a sweet and warm four-star read. This is number three in the Hartwood Holiday romance series, but they can all be read as standalone as they are all about different main characters, this time it’s Christmas and well, I wasn’t feeling it as we are in the middle of a heatwave, and I am certain that if I re-read it at Christmas, it will be a five-star read. Blake and Holly will have you puling your teeth out, they have infuriating qualities but they will also win you round and have your heart melting like the snow.

Bella is an unappreciated drama/music teacher just trying to keep her program alive. Cade is a rock star feeling that he needs to be held responsible for his actions. Poor Bella asks for profession help with her musical and gets a juvenile delinquent and Cade, who are supposed to serve out community service with her. She feels more like a babysitter than a teacher. With an Italian momma trying to cast love spells for her to find love, Bella has her hands full. Cade is back home helping his Grandpa after his Grandma died. The two help each other through some challenging adventures that life gives them, with a banana included. (It’s almost like the author throughs a funny surprise in there for you to find). They work through feelings of hurt, grief, disappointment and love. Trust me, you’ll feel it with them. Highly recommend!!!
Moonlight & Belladonna: A Hartwood Holiday Romance Author: Jae Dawson
Moonlight & Belladonna is the first book in the Hartwood Holiday series and it was fun, romantic, and such an easy to bang out read!! If you need a book to read to get out of your head; to do a little self-care for yourself, this is definitely the series. We meet our main characters, Bella and Cade. Bella is a musical arts teacher and Cade, a rock star. They have their ups and downs, of course, but in the end, make some beautiful music together. I loved every bit of this book. It combined my love of Broadway (Bella is putting together a high school version of Little Shop of Horrors) and a sultry rock star trying to get his head in the game. Funny at times, with some sadness mixed in. LOVED IT!!! Can not wait to start the next one!!

This is one of the most entertaining contemporary romance books I have read in a while. Holly has such a quirky personality. She has a bit of a dark humor as a physical therapist. Don’t go into her office thinking that you will see motivational posters of cute cats and unicorns. She’s pretty much as is. Nihilisa Frank is her form of encouragement. She also loves to commit crimes against coffee such as flavoring it with grape jelly, tapioca pudding or cucumber slices. She is one of a kind but she is also every woman and just doesn’t want to get hurt. Blake, former Olympian skier, runs into her on the slopes. She is not aware that he has a prosthetic leg and lets him have it. Well, life loves a good laugh and it turns out he is her client. The adventures these two have working through their fears and getting to know each other and what they want will keep you reading until the last page. Jae Dawson has a way to make the story entertaining and to feel like you are reading about your friends. Totally heartwarming and a great anytime read.
I am a lover of all Christmas books and this one is no different. Honestly this is probably one of the best ones I have read in a few months. Like most holiday romances there are back stories to be told of the characters. Most of them of love and loss. This one is no different and I found myself rooting for them to finally find their love match. This is a very funny story, and full of romance. However, I also found it to be emotional due to the inspirational story behind it. If you are a fan of Christmas love stories then I am sure you will be a huge fan of this one as well.
Out of the three books in this series so far, this one hit me in the feels the hardest. Here we have Holly, who has suffered the loss of her father and is struggling to get back to a sense of normality especially during the holiday season. Enter Blake, the former Olympic snowboarder who has had to endure losing a leg and his dream of continuing to compete. After a brief run-in (pun intended), they discover that they both bring something to the table that the other one desperately needs. This story had me happy, sad, and mad.. everything in-between. I love Holly’s negative outlook on most things and found joy in resonating with a book character so well. I also appreciated Blake’s playlists and attempts at always lightening the mood. This story was beautiful and, again, set in our favorite small town. Jae, you have hooked me completely and I look forward to reading more of whatever you decide to publish!
The second novel in this series by Jae Dawson and I am still absolutely in love with the small-town feel and the love stories that occur there! I loved the raw emotion that was in this story and getting to know way more than I ever dreamed imaginable about flowers due to Rose and her business. The quirky family members and friends, the re-meeting of long-lost love, and the reminder that all of this is happening in the same town where we fell in love with Cade. Rose and Liam had a story that needed to be told and Jae has once again delivered with this beautiful and romantic story. I especially related to the overthinking and overanalyzing that goes on in Rose’s head. These stories are perfect to read during any season when you want to smile and have that happily ever after feeling.

This series has captured me in a way that I can only describe as better than your average love story. Bella and Cade both bring something to this story that you don’t find just anywhere. Jae did a fantastic job with bringing these two characters together in a way that tugs your heartstrings on nearly every page. I loved the sass in both characters and the realness of everything that they went through. It’s not every day that you read a story about a rockstar falling in love with a (not-so-average) schoolteacher! I loved the small-town aspects and how everyone knows everyone but in a good way. The feels that I had from page one only made me want to continue reading this series and anything else this author can come up with! I look forward to MUCH MORE from Jae Dawson!

Jae Dawson once again brings the small town romance and the magic of the holidays to life in Snowflakes and Holly. I was excited to read this sweet read even though it is the middle of July and hot as sin out. I needed an escape from the sweat and miserable heat that plagues the midwest I live in and some equally sappy love that could mirror mine as I plan a small wedding for myself. This book could not have been more perfect for that. I meant to split it up over a few evenings as an escape before bed and I just couldn’t. It was so good that I devoured it before bed one evening and just adored it so much. I loved the way it flowed so well that I felt as if I jumped right into Hartwood and was right there with Holly and Blake. I cannot wait to see what we will get next form the talented Ms. Dawson!
Loved this one! Each of these characters is unique in their thoughts and abilities. These two definitely called each other out on their issues but in a good way. Their professional and personal lives bounce and slam together like they are jumping on a trampoline.
Blake’s story in Chapter 2 just about killed me! I am surprised he has such an upbeat personality with all that he has endured. The way he met Finn and how their friendship grew was wonderful. It made me realize there are still good people in the world. I really enjoyed a lot about Blake and the way he looks at the world and definitely looks at Holly. Especially what he calls her “murder eyebrow” that he secretly loves when she brings it out to show she means business.
Holly is a wonderful character. She has demons in her past that make her a super physical therapist but struggle with the rest of her life. She has RBF and isn’t afraid to use it. I liked that she was open to a relationship with Blake which shows she can change. I also liked how she “pretended” to hate Blake’s song picks but didn’t really.
…OH I forgot to mention Finn! He impressed me from the beginning (with his love of potato chips in sandwiches) and that held until the end. His caring, kindness and thoughtfulness makes me hope he gets his own story.
Overall this is a great story! The characters are all delightful and the story easily kept me turning pages. Usually I like the lead male as a favorite of the book. This time there is a three way tie..Holly, Blake and Finn. There is a lot to like, love and enjoy in here. I am eagerly awaiting the next in the series!
