Dangerous Rhythm (The Echo Series Book 4) by C.R. Alam – Review by Heather Hoke

Dangerous Rhythm (The Echo Series, #4)Dangerous Rhythm by C.R. Alam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was over too quickly! Or maybe I just loved it so much I didn’t want it to end at all! I loved how the roles reversed. I wasn’t so sure at first that I would like that. Cause I’m so used to reading about man protects woman type idea. But it was like the best breathe of a change. This is #4 I’m the series but I had no issue reading this one, as I have not read the others. However, I do believe I WILL be reading others.

I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to like this one. Susan has a writing style that is similar to Nancy Drew. However I kept reading. AND LET ME TELL YOU WHAT! Susan did not let me down. I found myself jumping to read more throughout my busy day just so I could know what happened next. Thank you Susan for another great read.

How to Catch Little Boys and Eat ThemHow to Catch Little Boys and Eat Them by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As always Lois Wickstrom NEVER disappoints!! I lovedddddd this one because it had a small jack and the beanstalk feel. But it wasn’t Jack and the beanstalk AT ALL. It portrayed how kids are a bit greedy nowadays days. But it also showed how clever children are. The illustrations were great! Very colorful! Oh and did I mention the book was funny?!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So let me start this review off by saying! That is the BEST dedication I have ever read! Some days I feel like some things wouldn’t be possible without wine!
This story is catchy from the very beginning. I could not wait for a few minutes between my kids to sit down and read. I just needed to know what was going to happen next. And more times then not I looked bug eyed reading the next event!
Ir really hope that there is another book because I will definitely read it I enjoyed this one eminsly.

Looking for a short novel to pull at ALL of your heart strings? HERE IT IS!!!!!
The story line is beautiful. How this family goes on a lovely trip to reconcile broken bonds.
This novel is very well put together. The way that Sharon makes sure to touch on each character just the right amount, it makes this booka very enjoyable read. It does have some very sad parts but they way it is written you feel like part of the family and like you are there.
This was a fantastic read!

Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) by Liza Snow – Review by Heather Hoke

ObedienceObedience by Liza Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The slow burning sizzle!
This one was an exciting romantic, joyful, yet suspenseful ride.
I felt it was kinda slow to start. However when that fire started to burn the flames grew!
Cassandra’s determination and then later growing into more dedication to Chandler was definitely something that I felt like I was a part of.
And the slow grow with Chandler. Well that made me want to strangle him at times.
I would say this was a pretty light quick read.

Ms.Gluhm! YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! Wow , wow! Just when I thought I could sit back off the edge of my seat, I found myself jumping back to the edge!

I am normally pretty good at figuring out what is going on in a book……NOPE NOT THIS TIME.
I really felt like Sloan (main character) and myself were decovering what has happened in HER life all at the same time.

If I wasn’t before I definitely am now. I will forever be a Shanessa Glumh fan! If she keeps writing them, I’m going to keep reading them!

The Silent Road by S.N. McKibben – Review by Heather Hoke

The Silent RoadThe Silent Road by S.N. McKibben
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So when I started this one I just really wasn’t sure……..the writing style was different from what I was used to with other authors and I just was skeptical of continuing after like 15%. But I pushed on. I’m glad I did. The ploy of the story wasn’t like anything I have read before. This isn’t typically a book I would even pick up and read let alone finish.
The main character makes you have so many mixed emotions about him. Most of those are jot good emotions.
If you are having a hard time finishing. Just push on. The story as a whole, and the ending. Worth it!

Chicken Little Investigates (Science Folktales) by Lois Wickstrom – Review by Heather Hoke

Chicken Little investigatesChicken Little investigates by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chicken little and friends make a discovery of gravity and are very interested by the different sounds things make when they hit the ground. The friends have no idea what to call the discovery so they venture to the palace to ask the king. Along the way they run into an obstacle. But nothing is too much for this group.
I really enjoyed the adventure of this book!

First let me lead with TRIGGER WARNING FOR RAPE!
This book wasn’t bad. I enjoyed it and it really kept me reading. I had parts where I just had to stop and ask myself “ummmm is this really for me?” But I kept reading because I just needed to know how it ended.
I don’t want to give anything away in my review so I will keep this one very very brief.

The ThievesThe Thieves by Susan Specht Oram
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was not my favorite. I stopped many times, but would start again in hopes that it would pick up and get exciting.
I do believe the one thing that I really didn’t like was that it had so much back and forth with the characters. And it was almost like there was too many characters.
When I finally made it to the end, it was pretty good. But it took forever to get there.

I can never rave enough on how much I love Lois’s books!!!!!
This one is the cutest play off of the original children’s story of Hansel and Gretal that I have ever read.
I read this one out loud to my 18 month old daughter. And she just sat and listened. She also really liked the pictures. Kept pointing out the animals.

I love books about Loretta! I always learn something very cool.
Loretta’s Caterpillar was no exception.
The way the Lois writes each step of a butterfly’s Metamorphosis, but makes it fun and easy to understand was just great!
Another thing I really enjoyed way the excitement she gave Loretta about her caterpillars life!
I might say this book was my favorite Loretta book so far. If you haven’t read the others you definitely should!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ummmmmmm WOW! I have so many words I could use to describe my feelings about this book! But the very first and foremost is disgust! Not with the book entirely, but with the character Dusty!!!!!! He is a pathetic son and disgusting human being. Who in the world doesn’t feel it is wrong to treat your very own mother the way he does his.
This book was emotionally hard to read. But it was so well written I couldn’t stop!
I read it in just a couple hours.

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery, #3)Straight for the Kill by Winter Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So this is book 3. However, I haven’t read the first two books and I was just fine.
I was a bit confused in some parts. But over all I had my nose stuck in this book til I finished! I read it in a few hours. I just couldn’t stop! It was like watching a good TV series (in my head of course haha) that I didn’t want to get up and go potty because I would miss the important parts!
The way that this is written, you feel like it will cool off and give you a 10 second break and then you very quickly see how wrong you are!
