Family Secrets by Shawn McGuire review by Heather Knalls

Family Secrets (Whispering Pines Mystery #1)Family Secrets by Shawn McGuire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jayne has been sent to Whispering Pines to take care of her grandparents house to get ready to sale as her grandmother passed 3 months ago. There are many secrets that lie in Whispering Pines that Jayne has no clue about. She is leaving behind what she feels is a life that she has ruined; turning in her partner, losing an informant, saying no to her boyfriends proposal and quitting her job as a detective at the Madison PD. Whispering Pines is not your typical town, it was established as a Wiccan community after her grandparents purchased the 2000 acres and her grandmother did not like being alone as her husband traveled. Upon arriving in town Jayne and Meeka her K9 partner find a dead young woman on the property and that the house itself has been vandalized. Jayne meets many people along the way to finding out what truly happened on her families property. What does this town and this incident hold for Jayne’s future? Can Jayne keep her detective skills to herself or will she step into something much bigger? This was an amazing start to this series and I can’t wait to see what else Whispering Pines has to offer.

The Don by Hazel Storm – review by Heather Knalls

The DonThe Don by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am absolutely in love with this series. The Greek mythology and the story line were amazing. Yes it was a shorter book but the characters and the story itself were absolutely amazing. Vanessa will do anything to save her younger brother Piper. A new neighbor, Grey, moves in across the street and she has an immediate pull to him but she is unsure why. She also meets his half brother, Raef, who she begins to fall for because he is such a gentleman to her even tho he is a billionaire and her mother has warned her about people with money. Raef falls for her whole family and wants to help in any way possible. Hazel Storm has a way with her characters and making them come alive. It does end in a cliffhanger but I can’t wait to read more!

The God by Hazel Storm review by Heather Knalls

The God: A Greek Myth Fantasy Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 2)The God: A Greek Myth Fantasy Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The God is the second in the series “Her Three Immortals” is just as good as the first. Vanessa would do anything for Piper even sell her soul and end up in the Underworld in none other than Grey’s own apartment in Elysium. The whole area is void of any color except for white, black and grey. She has somehow brought a soul echo into the Underworld with her and it ends up helping her find her own color and a way to bring color to the whole area. With the help of Gorgonita the mirror, her grandfather and her soul shadow she brings back love and color. Another amazing book by Hazel Storm, can’t wait for book 3 to see what happens to everyone!

Hermes the god of thievery has his own caduceus stolen by someone he felt he was falling for. Was it all a set up? Was Kat really working for Pan or was Pan getting over on both Hermes and Kat? What a love story!

What a love story. Stone and Adeline were destined to be together. The story is set in gorgeous Verona Italy and you just want to fall in love from the start. From their first accidental meeting as she fell into his arms to the ending it keeps you on your toes. If only every love story could be like this. Lovers of the past broken apart only to be reunited again in another life. So intriguing and captivating.

Anyone that loves a good love story should read this book. The relatability between Quinn and Tucker is amazing. To see two stars as a regular person in this book is just amazing. The story takes place in Nashville TN, place where I was born and raised and I was hooked. Quinn seems to be so relatable even though she is an actress wanting to change careers because we learn not everything is as it seems. Same with Tucker, like the saying goes don’t judge a book by its cover. Can’t wait to read more and see where these 2 end up.

But I have to say this book was absolutely amazing. I love Krysten’s writing and the way Cecily is living every girls dream. Krysten Lindsay Hager has done an amazing job with book one in the Cecily Taylor series. For any one that has, had or will ever have a celebrity or rock star crush this is this book for you. The characters ate so relatable and the plot was amazing. I believe many people can relate to Cecily in his she feels misunderstood and kind of on the outside. If you are older the book will have you reminiscing of a time past and for the young adult reader it is a great coming of age story. Cecily will hit you right in the heart, she will have you falling for your celebrity/rockstar crush all over again. Can’t wait to see what is to come for Cecily.
