Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington – Review by Heather Mize

Michael's HeartMichael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is my first time reading a book by this author and I loved it. The author is very talented in the way she can spin and weave a story. This book is a contemporary romance book about Colbie. Colbie is a strong woman who has gone through some dark times in her life and music is the beacon of light out of the darkness. Colbie and Michael’s relationship is a complex story that is very enthralling to read. I also love the relationship between Colbie and Lyric. Great book.

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Heather Mize

A Deal with Death (Crescent City Wolf Pack, #4)A Deal with Death by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am not a huge reader of paranormal books but the blurb of this book sucked me in. A Deal with Death is my first book by this author and definitely will not be my last. This book is about Odette who is one strong woman who every time she falls in love her mate dies. Once she gets reaquainted with James who she knew from school things start to change. James being a werewolf knows that she is his mate but can their destiny be any different than the her past soulmates? This book was a very good read and kept my interest for the entire book.

Furbidden Attraction: A Cursed Romance (Raven Falls Cursed Romances Book 1) by R. O’ Leary – Review by Heather Mize

Furbidden Attraction: A Cursed RomanceFurbidden Attraction: A Cursed Romance by R. O’Leary
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. I am new to the paranormal world so I was a little nervous to read this but the blurb caught my attention. This book is about Jack who was shot and could not shift from his dog form to his human form and ends up attached to a vet assistant Louisa. Once Jack could shift he did so while in bed with Louisa prompting him to kidnap her so she doesn’t tell his shifting secrets. What I really enjoyed in this book was the back and forth banter of the main characters and also that Louisa is not a wallflower. She has strong feelings and opinions and she lets them known. I give this book a 5/5.

The Matchmaker’s Match (Man’s Best Friend Series) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Heather Mize

The Matchmaker's Match (Man's Best Friend, #3)The Matchmaker’s Match by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read the first two books in this series so I was ready to go when this book came out. The first two books in the series were matched by the main character in this book Lincoln. Lincoln and Meredith are the couple of this book and of course all the books are centered around a dog. I love how light and carefree these books are. If you want to enjoy witty banter, funny moments and of course the love of a dog this book is for you! I absolutely love this series and Nicole Flockton has now become a go to author for me.

Wow, this book blew me away. I truly thought this would be the same old romance story with a few twists and turns and I was so wrong. I became so emotionally invested in Layla and Kellan’s story. I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of this book. I really enjoyed how this is not the book you expected but in the end you get something so much more. I don’t want to say too much because it will ruin this story just know it’s SO GOOD!

Impact (Twisted Hearts Love Story #4) by Autumn Sand – Review by Heather Mize

Impact (A Twisted Hearts Love Story book 4)Impact by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is not my first book that I have read by Autumn Sand and it will definitely not be the last. This is the 4th book in the Twisted Hearts Love Story Series and is one of my favorites. These books are all standalone’s but I feel you get more from reading them in order. This book is about Manny. Manny has not had a wonderful life and is constantly running from his feelings and the love of his life Zoe. Zoe has survived a lot on her own and is afraid to hope for something with Manny when he keeps hurting her. These too have such a push pull relationship but there is always hidden reasons behind both of their decisions. Can these two untwist and find what is right in front of them? I really enjoyed this book and it definitely left an “Impact” on me.

HEELS OF FORTUNE: PJ Santini Series: Book Two by Lynne Russell – Review by Heather Mize

Heels Of Fortune (PJ Santini Series Book 2)Heels Of Fortune by Lynne Russell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Heels of Fortune is the second book in the PJ Santini Series. You really need to read book 1 as this is a continuation from that book. In this book PJ Santini is still at it trying to unravel the mysteries that seem to be surrounding her. She is still uncovering the truth of her late husband’s death and once the secrets are out there her life is put in danger. What I love about this book is you truly don’t know who to trust and the tangled web slowly reveals itself. The combo of funny/witty and mystery is awesome in this story. I really enjoyed this book. There where times all I could do was just read faster!

Man with the Mafia (Man With #2) by Debra Falasco – Review by Heather Mize

Man with the Mafia (Man With, #2)Man with the Mafia by Debra J. Falasco
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Man with the mafia was such an enjoyable book to read. I am a sucker for books that draw you in from the start and has such realistic characters and side characters. I love the little Italy feel of the neighborhood that both Vincent and Deirdre live in. Vincent is a man that has grown up in the area and has ties to the criminal underworld. As a lawyer he struggles with his connection to his family that are involved in the mafia. One day he meets Deirdre who is a transplant to the area with her own set of secrets in her past. These two have an instant connection and feelings for each other. I loved the dance of their relationship. What happens when all of their secrets are out in the open. This was a very entertaining book to read.

Hell On Heels (PJ Santini Series Book 1)Hell On Heels by Lynne Russell

While trying to get accustomed to a new job she also has caught the attention of two different men. One of the men is her handsome boss and the other one is a man from her past and a once lover. Vantage Point (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 4) by Amy McKinley – Review by Heather Mize

Vantage Point (Gray Ghost #4)Vantage Point by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Vantage Point by Amy McKinley is the next in the Gray Ghost Novel Series and is no less flipping fantastic than the other 3 books in this series. In this book you have Hawk Ares who is the epitome of the dark, brooding and silent type and then there is Stella Klein who is Hawk’s neighbor who will do anything (I mean ANYTHING) for her family. Stella tries to help her brother out of a very sticky and dangerous situation putting herself in danger right along with her brother. Hawk has always silently watched and wanted Stella but once she puts herself on the radar of a local loan shark Hawk can no longer watch from the side lines. The build of these two’s relationship is awesome right along with the story that the author weaves. What happens when both of their words collide? Will Stella listen or back down when Hawk tries to help her? Will Hawk thaw his stance on his no relationship rule? I am in love with this author’s way of telling a story and I felt a genuine connection with these characters.

Blade's Edge (Satan's Devils MC #10)Blade’s Edge by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love MC books but that means I read a lot of MC books and can be picky. When I read Blade I immediately fell in love with both of the characters, Tasha and Blade. This book had so many twists and turns. Blade has such a damaged past and has a really hard time letting go of his past feeling regarding woman. Natasha or Tasha, is such a well bred woman who has a very tough past that she is currently running from. When their presents collide, it’s like a tornado. I really enjoyed the action and the drama in this book. Well done.

Luke (The McKades of Texas book 3) by Kimberly Lewis – Review by Heather Mize

Luke (The McKades of Texas, #3)Luke by Kimberly Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have only listened to about 4-5 audiobooks before I downloaded Luke. I love childhood crushes turned to adult romances so I decided to give it a go. At first I thought that I would be annoyed by the southern twang but I LOVED it and felt very connected to the woman’s voice who read the book. I felt like I was right there in the story and found myself wanting more quiet time to listen to this book.
In this book you have Karlie and Luke. Karlie has ALWAYS loved Luke but she was much younger than Luke. Fast forward years later Karlie has graduated from college and ends up doing an internship at Luke’s family’s horse farm. Luke and Karlie start a secret relationship because they don’t want to upset their families that are really close. I really enjoyed this book and now want to go back and read about the rest of the family!

Hawk is immediately taken by the green eyed beauty and wants to help her heal. Years go by as they both grow up but the attraction remains for both of them.
