Chasing Cheer was such a fun, small town, clean romcom. It is such a great introduction to the Christmas season and it throws you headfirst into all the Christmas feels kind of like the comforting, cozy, joy that you get from a Hallmark movie. Chasing Cheer hit me at just the right time, even though it’s not quite Christmas yet, I appreciated how uplifting this story was. The characters were realistic and likable. Loved the Christmas magic!

Chasing Cheer is Book One in the Magical Emerald Hollow Series. It is a fun, whimsical, contemporary romance with a Christmas vibe. The story centers around the characters of Holly Claus and Ash Hayes. Holly is traveling the world to collect cheer to power the North Pole when she meets Ash in a small town in Oregon. The two have instant chemistry but she is not looking for love and he is not looking to have a relationship with someone who will not be sticking around. Holly and Ash are lovable characters that you know instantly are clearly meant to be together. The chemistry is instant and magical which kept me reading to see what would become of them and if they could make a relationship work. I loved the magical picture the author painted which really drew me into the story. The book was well written, and the scenes were so vividly described it was as though I was fully immersed in the scenes with the characters. It felt like I was watching a movie play out in front of me and I could visualize myself surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the Christmas season. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

The perfect weekend holiday read! I’m a huge fan of the Hallmark Christmas movies and this book could absolutely be made into a movie! It was a quick read that kept me interested the entire time. Holly’s character is so sweet. I felt bad for her not really understanding why she struggled more than her father. I was a bit surprised they didn’t teach her growing up. But if you want to be put in the Christmas spirit, grab this book and a cup of hot cocoa!

As the new(er) head of the Claus business, Holly has to work hard for the cheer to power the North Pole. It doesn’t help that she has to work harder than her father to gather cheer leading her to being out of range for most if the year.

When Holly visits a small Oregon town on a Cheer hunting whim, all she thought she knew about collecting Cheer goes out the window. Emerald Hollow is full of it. Cheer that is. So now she’s determined to figure out why and how she can use the small towns abundance of Cheer to help the North Pole.

Emerald House is more than just a business to Ash Hayes. It’s his world, and everything he’s ever known. After taking over the family business, Ash is determined to bring tourism up in Emerald Hollow, even if it means entering their tiny town into a Hallmark contest.

Holly’s not planning on staying but the amount of Cheer in Emerald Hollow could put Christmas at stake and leave her wanting more at the same time. Ash doesn’t want to love someone who leaves. Neither of them have a choice anymore.

I really struggled at the beginning, I felt that it was written in a very roundabout, odd manner for the first few pages, but it really cleaned up after the first chapter.

It turned out to be a super sweet and adorable holiday read that I’m really glad I stuck around for. A fast-paced storyline once it was in motion and plot that reads like a Hallmark movie and this girl is sold.

I loved the characters and I can’t wait to see what lore we can get from Emerald Hollow and I can only hope it’ll be a bit more holiday fun!

First off … how can you not love this cover it’s pink!? Secondly, what a way to wake Christmas cheer from its hibernation 🥰

Where I come from , South Africa , Christmas is celebrated in the summer so all I wanted to do was get the gammon in the oven , the trifle in the fridge , plates of snacks and settle in , escape for a few hours 🥰📚

This was one of those reads that get you into the mood of “ silly season” there’s magic , there’s romance , there’s learning the true meaning of friendships and relationships 🥰

Will I read again? For sure ! Is it something I’d recommend? Oh yes ! It really was a fun , feel good read 🥰📚

Adorable Christmas story, full of magic, love, and all the feels.
When Holly Claus decides to check in on a small-town fall festival, she doesn’t know she is changing her life forever. This slow build love story is a good reminder to be present so we don’t miss the joy to be found around us. I am hoping for more stories around the characters in this book because each brought their own little spark.

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a great holiday romance, it has me wishing it was almost Christmas. If you’re looking for a book to put you in the holiday mood, this is it. The idea about needing “cheer” to light up the North Pole is fantastic, I liked Holly’s little stories of places she usually frequents to get cheer. In this book the elves don’t make toys, they make dreams, which I loved. I felt like I was watching a Hallmark movie with how easy the chemistry came between Holly and Ash, it didn’t feel rushed; I felt that seeing Holly interact with other characters made their romance flow nicely. I do wish we could have gotten an answer about the magic in Emerald Hollow but I still enjoyed the book and recommend to anyone looking for a clean romance with a happy ending.

What a hallmark of a story this book turned out to be. I loved the fairytale love story within this book. But also the story of bringing Christmas magic to a small town that is a hallmark town already. I could see this book being a movie and brining it all to life.

Holly is in charge of capturing Christmas Cheer and keeping the spirit alive in the North Pole. She happens across a flier for a festival in a small magical town in Oregon. Little did she know how her life was going to change with her arrival to Emerald Hollow.

When Holly fills her Cheer meter so quickly upon her first trip to Emerald Hollow. She agrees to come back and help with the Christmas Faire. Things turn south and the real question is will Christmas Magic be saved? Will love win out and will Holly be able to tell the truth?

Reading the romance between the two main characters made for a sweet holiday romance. A great weekend read!

We follow Holly Claus as she comes to Emerald Hollow to figure out why it has such an abundance of cheer. In the process, she meets Ash Hayes who is trying to build up his tourism business. These two are so sweet together and it is obvious they have a spark from their first meeting. It is clear these two are made for each other but there are obstacles. I really enjoyed this story. It has such a Hallmark movie feel, that has you ready for Christmas movies, crackling fires, and hot chocolate. I loved the whole new spin on the North Pole and Santa Claus. The world-building took me by surprise. I expected the same ole same. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to read book 2.

What a sweet read to get ready for the holidays. Emerald Hollow, Oregon was a great backdrop for Holly to visit. I love that her job was to collect Cheer to power the North Pole. The ambiance of the book is that of a holiday time Hallmark Movie – full of love and lessons learned. I loved the elves – both the Keblers and Kringles! A sweet take on Christmas magic! Holly is traveling around the world to find cheer so the elves can continue making Christmas magic. What Holly doesn’t realize is that she’s stuck in a never ending cycle that she created herself. What is she missing? Interactions with people!
A bit of magic brings Holly to spot a flyer about a fall festival in Emerald Hollow.

The flyer intrigues her and Holly decides to see what the festival is all about. As she starts to connect with the people in the Emerald House and in the town of Emerald Hollow, Holly finds changes she never expected! As she meets Ash and his friends, Holly begins to find the joy in helping with the festival decorations. Meeting Ash and other people in Emerald Hollow is the start of something special for Holly, the elves, and for Ash!

I read this book as the first holiday book for the season as we move into October. It really got me looking ahead to the Holiday season and thinking about other Christmas books to read this year. The story is great, the atmosphere is perfect, and adding some romance is the icing on the cake or maybe I should say hot cocoa!

By: Heather Schneider

This is literally such a fun holiday read. It is exactly what I needed to begin to get me into the holiday spirit. This story takes place in the most amazing town called Emerald Hollow, Oregon. It has the best vibe and is filled with the most amazing characters. This is a book that definitely makes you stop and think – as a major theme is finding balance in your life. This book was absolutely fantastic and I loved all the twists on the conventional holiday trope. I definitely recommend this and feel the only thing that would have made this book better is if there had been snow on the ground and I was sitting by the Christmas Tree.

Chasing Cheer is a sweet and wholesome Christmas read. It isn’t the typical small town strangers meeting and falling in love type, but it still has all the best elements.
The cheer in Emerald Hollow is something Holly can’t seems to put her finger on, so she works to investigate what makes it so cheerful. As she falls in love with the town and the people, Holly keeps finding reasons to visit again. Ash is selfless, constantly chasing dreams to better Emerald Hollow. He stays busy, but always makes time for everyone else, especially Holly, only he knows so little about her. Only when things take a turn for the worst do Holly and Ash have to be honest about their feelings for each other.
The writing is very descriptive, which seemed to slow the story down in some places, but it always picked up again. The twist on the classic Christmas love stories was fun and even unpredictable at times.

In an attempt to find new, better ways to collect, Holly visits a smal town in Oregon called Emerald Hollow for the Fall Festival. Oh my goodness this book was so good! And got me in the Christmas spirit.

Holly is Ms. Claus and is in charge of collecting ‘cheer’ to bring home to power the North Pole light. Negative energy and moods can affect her cheer collecting so she’s gone for most of the year trying to fill up her meter to keep things running.
When she finds a flyer for a town fall festival she decides to try somewhere new for her cheer collecting and she gets so much more than she bargained for.

I loved all of the characters in this and felt they were all relatable in one way or another.
I really would love to see more in everyone in this story and the town. This is perfect for a cozy weekend read.

Holly Claus is responsible for the Cheer levels at the North Pole. She must go out each cycle and get the required amount so that they have the correct amount of magic. While in Sweden, she sees a flyer for a festival in Oregon and decides to go there.
Ash Hayes is worried about his little town of Emerald Hollow. His business is doing fine but others seem to be closing almost as soon as they open and if something doesn’t change, it will affect his business too. Knowing the festival is coming up, he steps it into high gear and does more advertising and tries to make this festival the best yet.
When Holly and Ash meet, Cheer is in overabundance and Holly needs to figure out why.
