The Billionaire’s Slave by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Helani Kihe

The Billionaire's Slave by Stacy-DeanneThe Billionaire’s Slave by Stacy-Deanne by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book I’ve read by this author and she is a phenomenal writer.  She writes the most beautiful interracial love stories.
I love that the language used in the story reflected the time period that the story was set in. I loved that when it came to some of the relationships, sex and sexuality there where some things explored in the story that could be considered taboo now and would have been highly taboo in that time period. Overall the characters were great, the storyline was great, such a good read. Can’t wait to read more stories like this.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters) by Marianne Rice – Review by Helani Kihe

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Hundred Wishes was equally heartwarming, funny, sad and steamy. I loved that even though this book was part of a little series of books you could read it all by itself.
I fell in love with the characters. They were real. No fairytale romace here. Both of the main characters had issues that cause bumps and curves in their relationship together. Though they did work through a lot of the issues, the issues themselves didn’t magically disappear. By the end of the story they both still had stuff they need to workout but had learned how to better work them and cope. That made this story much more relatable and such a great read.

Theodore’s Ring by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Helani Kihe

Theodore's Ring: BWWM Action Adventure RomanceTheodore’s Ring: BWWM Action Adventure Romance by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Theodore’s ring was incredibly twisted. A thrilling story for sure. It started off a little slow but once the story took off boy did it take off. There was so many twists and turns. Normally you can kind of see where the story is going. This one threw some curve balls at me and kept me guessing. Definitely an action packed and adventurous story.

Swipe Right to Bite (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 6) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Helani Kihe

Swipe Right to Bite (New Orleans Nocturnes, #6)Swipe Right to Bite by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy Hell!!! This book was devilishly devine! I’ve been a book lover pretty much my whole life. I’ve read several different genres. My personal favorite is a good live story. Normally I prefer EXTRA spicy love stories if you know what I mean. This has to be one of the BEST love stories I’ve read that doesn’t have cover to cover sex. The other did a phenomenal job keeping the story between the main characters so good that I didn’t mind the mild spice. She also did such a great job describing how your body feels emotions that I swear I was feeling right along with the characters.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Helani Kihe

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Embracing Jared was EPIC! The author did an amazing job telling Jared and Cookie’s story. By far my favorite book I’ve read this year. I could feel all the love, sadness, joy, anger and fear. I lost count how many times I had trouble reading the words because my tears were blurring my vision. I really liked how if you really paid attention there was more than one love story.

Practically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie – Review by Helani Kihe

Practically Pagan - An Alternative Guide to Magical LivingPractically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was definitely the most interesting book I’ve read all year. I’m usually attracted to books that have a story line but something about this book just called to me. I just had to read it and I’m glad I did.
I’ve been struggling with self care for years now and Practically Pagan showed me how magical living and self care kind of go hand in hand. I’ve learned a little more about myself while reading Practically Pagan. This book has helped me to think about what I’m going to do differently with my life in the new year.
Even if you’re not interested in magic this book can help you in every day life. I am so happy I decided to take a chance and read Practically Pagan.

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can I just say…. WOW! I was introduced to Derek and Julia in book 1. Born to Fall book 2 is their story. I really enjoyed watching Julia’s character grow and too see just how patient Derek was with her. The author did an amazing job. The details made it super easy to create moving pictures in my mind. It was as if I was watching the story in my mind. There was a perfect balance of love, lust, rage, sorrow. Can’t wait for book 3 and the next couples story.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The author did a fantastic job of showing how magical Christmas time can be. I felt like I was reading a Hallmark Christmas Movie. I really enjoyed the evolution of Olivia’s character. Jace’s character had such a great mix of . masculine war hero, loving and funny. Every girls dream. I genuinely loved the storyline and the characters. I’m probably gonna reread this again closer to Christmas.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rock Me To the Top was a phenomenal read. I love how you could feel the push and pull of the characters emotions. The love of 2 best friends and whether or not they should take it further. Victoria Zak did a phenomenal job illustrating the story, how their relationship grows, with her words. If I didn’t have 3 kids to take care of I would never have put the book down. It definitely had me in all my feels. I honestly can’t wait to read book 2.

Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10)Sea Mage by Louisa Bacio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sea Mage (The Nightshade Guild, Book 10) was definitely an interesting read. I love fantasy romance. This is my first time reading a romance about sea creatures. I really liked the fact that Peder and Serena were from different worlds and are different types of sea creatures. Ameria was such a sweet little character. I enjoyed that there was an action/suspense factor in the story. I can’t wait to read the next installment in the series.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You Book 1) by Brittany Anne – Review by Helani Kihe

Born to Fight (Can't Resist You, #1)Born to Fight by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born to fight is set in time where America has fallen and the UNR is in control of everything. Hunter Kane has been trained since birth to be the ultimate soldier. He leads the Resistance. Rain has run away from a traumatic past and has been in contact with another human for 2 years.

I really enjoyed Born to fight. I’ve always been a fan of love stories with characters from different worlds. Definitely action packed and kept my nose stuck in this book. Brittany did an amazing job. I could really picture the story in my mind as I read.

Code Name: Vulture (The Order of the Condor Series Book 1) by Maya Daniels and Sylvia Black – Review by Helani Kihe

Code Name: Vulture: Dark Vampire Romance (The Order of the Condor Series Book 1)Code Name: Vulture: Dark Vampire Romance by Maya Daniels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Code Name: Vulture: Dark Vampire Romance (The Order of the Condor Series Book 1) was absolutely phenomenal. I’ve read my share of books with dominant males. Most of them crack so early in the book makes you question their dominance. Not in this book that’s for sure. Vulture let’s you know who’s boss.
I really liked that there were several supernatural creatures in the story. There was tons of action.
Overall I really enjoyed reading Code Name: Vulture and getting to know the characters. I can’t wait to “sink my teeth” in book 2

Dire's ClubDire’s Club by Kimberly Packard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dire’s Club definitely wasn’t usually the kind of book I’d find myself reading but the synopsis pulled me in.
Kimberly Packard did an amazing job breathing life into each of the characters. While reading I felt like I personally knew each of them. I felt like I had become a part of the Dier’s Club. All of my emotions were invested in each character.
Dire’s Club made me feel every emotion with each turn of the page.

Unbreakable (The Diamonds Book 1) by Tee Smith – Review by Helani Kihe

Unbreakable (The Diamonds, #1)Unbreakable by Tee Smith

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unbreakable is the first installment of The Diamonds series by Tee Smith. In this story we meet good girl Erin and bad boy Ripper. We get to see how they meet and fall for each other and have to overcome obstacles from their pasts that may affect their futures.
I really enjoyed how the Romance and Suspense entwined with each other. It made me want to keep reading page after page. I can’t wait for the second installment of the series. I’m hoping we’ll get to know more of the characters we were introduced to in book 1.
