The Art of Us
By Hilaria Alexander

Took a bit to get into this book, and to work out Lena’s some what tough exterior, but once I got past all that I did enjoy book. The one love Lena had that she knew would never hurt her was her art. She has been hurt several times in love and she wasn’t going to go there again. But then there is Amos her co-worker who she acknowledges that she does have feeling for. But instead of acting on them she constantly gives Amos the cold shoulder, so she doesn’t out herself in the position to be hurt again. Question is, will this animosity towards Amos last forever? Amos also has feelings for Lena but knows right now b=not to try and act on them. So, he is biding his time in the hope of sometime soon breaking the protective walls down that Lena has around her. Lena needs to work out what she wants if regarding her feelings for Amos. Will Amos get tired of waiting and move on? If this happens will Lena be hurt, or will she not care and carry on the way she has been? I hope you enjoy this book as I have.

A Scottish Wedding (A Lost in Scotland #2) by Hilaria Alexander – Review by Jana Teppih

A Scottish Wedding (A Lost in Scotland #2)A Scottish Wedding by Hilaria Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Scottish Wedding is sequel to Hilaria Alexander’s Lost in Scotland and I inhaled it straight after I was done with Lost in Scotland. You do NOT want to read the Scottish Wedding before Lost in Scotland! I got the second book first so I had to put it on hold while inhaling Lost in Scotland.
I absolutely fell in love with Sam and Hugh and I guess I cannot say I fell in love with Scotland as I have been in Scotland for a long time so I am very grateful to Hilaria for gracing us with more of Sam and Hugh and hilarious co in the beautiful countryside of Scotland! The beautiful imagery, the banter and sexy encounters … vow … she really made me blush and sigh lost in the pages and pages of beautifully written story …
You would think when seeing the title that the story is only about Sam and Hugh’s nuptials but you would be wrong! It is about so much more! It is about how they get to know each other more, build trust and learn how to endure life’s hardships, the importance of friendship and being there for others … I truly hope that Hilaria is not leaving Scotland behind and she will keep telling stories that cement our love for all that is Scottish!
I have to confess that after finishing this book, I got Hilaria’s Rivers brothers’ books as I got interested in them when Hilaria mentioned them in Scottish Wedding so here I come, Rivers brothers!

A Scottish Wedding (A Lost in Scotland #2) by Hilaria Alexander – Review by Angela Shirley

A Scottish Wedding (A Lost in Scotland #2)A Scottish Wedding by Hilaria Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Scottish Wedding is the next instalment in the love story regarding Sam and Hugh, the book picks up from when Hugh has proposed to Sam in the cottage he has brought for them and will they have a happily ever after in glorious Scotland. I believe you would enjoy this book as a standalone story but you will be checking book one out to see how these two lovable characters started this journey.

I love the way the author creates the story and twists in the secondary characters which made reading this book a pleasure. I love the character of CeCe and she does not disappoint with her antics in this story and the shock announcement makes you love her even more.

I like the way the author draws you into Scotland and that you feel that this beautiful country is a big part of the character of the book, this back drop makes a perfect frame to a beautiful love story. I think the writing in this novel was fast pace and a page turner which will have you OMG at the end.

I can’t wait to read the next book hoping we get to read Amira’s story or Declan’s story next. I would recommend this my friends to read as a good holiday book.

FU Cancer by Hilaria Alexander – Review by Jenni Bishop

FU CancerFU Cancer by Hilaria Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

FU Cancer by Hilaria Alexander is a wonderful story of strength and resilience that will break your heart one minute and have you laughing out loud the next. Hilaria has managed to write about a horrible disease and inject it with just the right amount of humour. This is a story about a sweet romance that happens along the way whilst dealing with one womans battle with cancer. It is beautifully written book.

Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if you are sick when you have two beautiful little boys to look after. I doesn’t matter that you are a single mum, cancer does not discriminate by age or sex. It does not care if you have a life, nope you just have to go on and face that sucker head on just like Lucy Porter, a young mother who has just been diagnosed with cancer finds herself doing. Lucy has found friendships and love in the most unlikely place. In one of the lowest points of her life, she finds something that she never imagined. A man who not only helps her get through some of her toughest days, but he also helps her to remember what it is like to not only be a woman but to be a sexy woman and also to live her life.

Brandon has dealt with cancer most of his life but when he comes face to face with one extraordinary woman he can’t help but want to get to know her more. He wants to be there to help her through one of the lowest points in her life. Wants to help her through some of her toughest days. Wants to help her remember what it is to be a sexy woman.

FU Cancer shows us all the fears and struggles and the strength of one woman to fight and show cancer the front door. Sometimes you want to say FU Cancer but sometimes you want to say thank you Cancer. Read Lucy’s story and take the journey with her as she laughs and cries and finds love and life again.
