This was such a good read. The author takes you on a journey full of twists and turns that keeps you guessing from beginning to end. Just when you think you know what’s going to happen there is another surprise that you don’t see coming and changes the whole story.

The author does an amazing job with the characters and how they all twist and turn and link with each other in ways you don’t expect.
What starts out as a story about a girl that goes missing 20 years ago turns out to be so much more and this had an effect on so many more lives.
I really enjoyed this book and wasn’t able to put it down until I got to the end and found out the truth. Be prepared for a journey full of secrets and lies and people who aren’t who you think they are.

Intriguing and suspenseful
A very well written and unpredictable thriller. Molly is easily relatable, at times I felt she was younger than her actual age but this was a deliberate execution by the author. The twists and turns kept coming and the story unravelling as the past and present collide. I really enjoy Jessica Aiken-Hall’s books and this is another that I highly recommend.

House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a book you will not be able to put down! This book is filled with so much fear, suspense, and love that you get sucked into the story. Several times I had thought I knew what the ending would be, but then had my theories thrown out the window as another clue was discovered by the main character, Molly.
Molly is such a likeable character. From the moment we meet her, she is a kind-hearted woman. When she finds the flyer of a missing woman while searching for her ill mother, her curiosity to learn more of who this woman was draws the reader into the mystery.
You will not be disappointed with this well written book.

Jessica Aiken-Hall has done it again with this novel. I can’t get over how much this resembles a true crime instead of fiction. When Molly comes home for the summer, she is in charge of taking care of her mother who is has dementia. When her mom comes up missing, she starts looking. When a missing flyer surfaces from 20 years ago, Molly decides to not only look for her mom, but to put the clues together about the other missing woman. Jessica Aiken-Hall is a wonderful author. I can not put her books down when I start reading them. From start to finish, you will be pulled right into the novel. This is one author that I can definitely recommend to readers of crime or any other novel for that matter.

House in the Woods was Ah-Mazing. I have read a lot of books by Jessica Aiken-Hall, but this was my all time favorite. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It is a mystery suspense, that I had partly figured out about half way through, but not all the details. The book is about Molly Jackson, college student, and how her life is turned upside down one summer. She decided to stay home for college, after her mother was diagnosed with dementia. Her dad is somewhat of a loose cannon, a hole, and she doesn’t feel right leaving her mom home alone with him. We start off thinking that will be the focus of the story- Molly’s mom and her wandering off, getting lost, the fear surrounding that. Then things take a whole new twist, when Molly sees a flyer hung at school for a missing person. She takes the flyer on a whim, curious why she never heard about this before… it is a small town after all… Then she realizes she looks a lot like the missing woman, who was the same age as her brother. From there, things just get stranger and stranger. This is so much going on in this book, I don’t want to give away any spoilers. But read it. Do it, you won’t regret it!

A thrilling whodunit mystery.

They say not to judge a book by its cover but have you seen this cover?!? I was honestly hooked from the second I saw it and once I started reading it I could not put it down!

The story follows a college student named Molly who is home for the summer to help take care of her mom because she has dementia. If that isn’t enough on the young girl’s plate she finds a missing persons flyer of a girl named Lucy who went missing 20 years prior and happens to look just like her. From that point on the plot quickly thickens when she learns that her brother used to date Lucy before she went missing. Molly becomes so intertwined in the case that she has to ask herself if everything really is as it seems?

There were many times in the book when I thought I’d solved the mystery, but the plot twists just kept coming! The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book and I could not put it down. Jessica Aiken-Hall did a beautiful job with this story and I can’t wait to read more of her work. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to go down a rabbit hole of mystery and suspense.

House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall. I LOVED this book and I LOVE Jessica Aiken-Hall. Psychological Thrillers are my favorite so I had high hopes going into this one and it exceeded my expectations! This is the story of Molly Jackson who has come home to Pine Grove, Vermont for the summer. She has just finished her first year in college and she has been asked to take care of her mom who has recently been told she has dementia. Shortly after getting there her mom starts disappearing and Molly has to call in reinforcements to find her. Her dad brings her back home one time but he’s very secretive about where she was. Molly finds this very odd. Molly also finds a flyer of a missing woman, Lucy, from several years back and the lady has a huge resemblance to Molly. Molly feels a strong attraction to Lucy and so she starts trying to find out what happened to her. This book will keep you guessing until the very last page! Its soooo good!

I read a lot of psychological thrillers, so a good chunk of the time I have an idea of what the bug twist will be or how a novel will end. That was absolutely not the case with this book. The author did a fantastic job of building an intricate plot where all the peices eventually came together and nothing was overlooked. This was my first book by this author, and I would definitely read more from her!

This is an author I have enjoyed from the first book I have picked up of hers. They are well written stories that the author’s use of attention to details make the stories pop. I am pulled into the story right from the first word. This book is no different. The characters gave the story a realistic feel and they are connectable. They really did make the story for me as well as fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about Molly and what she finds when she is searching for her missing mother. What she finds is not what is expected and how the mysterious missing woman is closer to her brother than she realizes. This is full of action and twists and turns that kept me turning pages to the end. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

Molly Jackson is home in Pine Grove, Vermont for the summer after her first year in college. She has been asked home to take care of her mother who has been diagnosed with dementia. Molly’s mom disappears again, so Molly calls her brother Marc. Marc decides to come back home but is traveling from Virginia. Their dad finds their mom and brings her back home, but he won’t share where he finds her.

While this is mysterious in itself, Molly finds a flyer outside the stadium at her old high school while she was out looking for her mom. The odd thing is she feels like she is looking in the mirror as she stares at the flyer of a missing girl, Lucy, who went missing 20 years earlier.

Molly feels an odd attraction to Lucy. Plus things aren’t always what they seem at home. Her mom acts lucid sometimes when she’s talking to Molly. There are strange things happening in Pine Grove. Can she solve this mystery before things get too dangerous?

What a great mystery! Until the truth is revealed, you will have no idea what is really going on.

Molly Jackson, sheltered college student home for the summer, is faced with the harsh reality of her mom’s dementia. Tasked with making sure her mom is safe and stays at home, Molly panics when her mom disappears. Having nowhere else to turn, Molly reaches out to her older brother, Marc. When Marc returns to his small hometown, things quickly unravel as Molly becomes involved in the search for a local woman who went missing 20 years prior.

This story is so good. Full of unexpected twists and turns to the last page. House in the Woods leaves the reader guessing, even when it seems like everything has been wrapped up neatly. Molly is 19 but has led such a sheltered life her innocence and naivety really came through in her character. There were moments where the story was heartbreaking as everything Molly and Marc knew of their life has fallen apart. Great 5 star read!

Oh my goodness, this book was amazing. I was captivated from start to finish. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because it deserves more. Jessica Aiken Hall is a literary wizard.

I simply cannot spoil this book because it was so good and was so fun to try to figure the mystery out, but I will make a few comments on it!

The characters were just amazing. They had so much depth and persona to them that I loved or hated them depending who they were! Her scene details were immaculate and gave me literal goosebumps. Reading it felt so realistic, it was like I was there, spooky! Without giving too much away, the way she weaved this intricate and amazing plot is simply astounding. It had me invested in this mystery and reading every and any opportunity I could. Just when I thought I had things figured out, BAM, another bombshell was dropped; but it all fit in perfectly. It wrapped up so nicely with a perfect and just conclusion.

10/10 will be stalking this author to fangirl over her work.
