I thought this book was cute. It was about a girl names Shirl who is trying to find where she is from. Her family tells her she is from earth but she doesnt believe them. She meets an alien friend Eee-ahh and they try to find games and things they can do together. Colorful pictures. Cute for the kiddos

We are all different. Shirl doesn’t “fit in” with the humans of Earth, she doesn’t like creamy spinach or sports so she thinks she must be an alien. Talented with electronics, she creates a radio that allows her to talk to aliens. Eee-ahh hears the call and comes to visit hoping they have found their home planet. After some trial and error while they look different, they find a common activity they both enjoy. Beautiful illustrations to go with a cute little story about friendship in all shapes and colors.

Very cute, engaging, colorful story that can be enjoyed by young children but also the young at heart.
Shirl does not remember being born on earth, as she feels like she does not fit in….and she does not like certain things to eat…so in her mind she is an alien. When a flying saucer arrives she meets a new friend…Eee-ahh. Both Shirl and Eee-aah become fast friends and discover differences on where they might come from.
This is a cute story and I love the discovery of friendship.

I Am An Outer Space Alien (I am an Alien) by Lois Wickstrom
I Am An Outer Space Alien is the first book in the I am an Alien series that my five year old and I loved reading. We are huge fans of this author and have read several books by her. Each one of her stories have a message to be learned, this one we took away not everyone is the same rather, its how we look or where we come from. My son loved it and we read it several times already. The illustrations are colorful and bring the story to life. This is aimed for children ages 4-8. Shirl feels like she doesn’t fit in with other humans and feels different from others. Shirl thinks because she’s different she must be an alien. What will happen when Eeh-ahh a real alien shows up? I highly recommend reading this book to find out. We look forward to reading more from this Author.

This author has done it, yet again. She has produced an engaging, entertaining and educational story that had our whole family riveted. This author has joined a small handful of other authors that my kids ask for constantly. We re-read each book multiple times, and every time we do they seem to find a new part that becomes their favourite.
I love the way this author creates something that is fun and yet teaches kids something fundamental. The pictures within the stories always bring them to live too. This was just another example of how brilliant her work can be and we are already looking forward to the next book.

This is the cute story of Shirl, who is convinced she’s not from Earth because she doesn’t like y’s, creamed spinach, and sports. She invents a radio that can talk to aliens from outer space and Eee-ahh comes to visit her. Eee-ahh is looking for her home planet too, but soon realizes Earth isn’t it. Shirl and Eee-ahh try to find things they can do together and that they have in common to make their lives better together. I always love Wickstrom’s books and how she is able to weave life lessons into her cute stories. The illustrations are always unique and bright as well.

I Am An Outer Space Alien is part of the I Am An Alien Series. It is a children’s book geared towards children from the ages of four to eight years old. The story centers around a little girl named Shirley who feels like she does not belong on Earth. She does not like her name because she thinks the letter “y” droops like a dog’s tail, so she calls herself Shirl. Shirl feels like an alien because she does not remember being born, does not like Earth food, and does not like to play Earth games. When a space ship lands, and an alien girl gets off the ship, she and Shirl become instant friends. Shirl finally feels like she has something in common with someone and feels as though she belongs. A cute and quirky story about inclusion, friendship, individuality, and acceptance. The bright illustrations really made the story pop off the pages and brought the story to life. I highly recommend this book!

I Am An Outer Space Alien is the first book in the ‘I Am An Alien” series by Lois Wickstrom. It is a fun children’s fantasy story that has an interesting storyline, bright/colourful illustrations, some sci-fi elements, an alien, a spaceship, friendship, adventure, a little drama, cooperation, accepting everyone’s differences, and recognising your own unique individuality.
Shirl feels different to everyone else and like she doesn’t ‘fit’ in with other humans- so she figures she must be an alien. But what happens when an actual alien appears? Get set for a fun, quirky, and engaging read.

I Am An Outer Space Alien is an educational children’s book and fun read. It is aimed at children aged 4 to 8years old and impressionable little minds. The story encourages them to open their imagination to all possibilities.
With its vivid bright and colourful pictures, it is a winner with children as they follow Shirl and her alien journey. It also full of interesting titbits.
This wonderful adventure story is about friendships. It is a wonderful story, and it doesn’t matter if you are an alien form outer space or not you will learn about making new friends and how to nurture those friendships.
Lois’s stories are valuable tools that help with shaping and the development of skills as they get to enjoy alien adventures.
It is a must as a gift for a special occasion or just because.
There are many more adventures to read to my grandbabies and my new great granddaughter.
