Oofta! This book hit me right in the feels. Dogs are just something special and the author hit right on point. You can absolutely feel how much she loved her sweet pooch. If you want to feel sentimental, this is what you are looking for. You will certainly feel the authors pain and admiration for her four legged love. Highly recommend!

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings
By Maria DeBlassie

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings is my first book by Maria DeBlassie. To be honest I was not sure what to expect and I am also not sure this book was for me.
On saying that this review will be on the writing style of the author. What we have here is reflections on the magic that can be found in life. This book has been written in such a way that in most cases you feel part of the story. I did find that in some parts of the book it did have me thinking that we need to take time for ourselves. While I was not totally into this book there will be those of you out there that will absolutely love this book.

This is a whole new level of reading for me, more of a self guided tour of one’s own mind and self reflection of your own musings and wandering of the mind. I found myself thinking a lot about everyday perspective and how this book would actually as some points be actually what your were thinking.

A brilliant guide into the depth of self joy to both writer and reader.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a collection of Essays that were created on a blog. I have never read any of her blog posts before but I enjoyed this book and would definitely read any other thoughts she decided to write down. It’s different then reading a book for sure but it was still quite fun and entertaining. It is a very descriptive look at the author’s life. I would rate 4 stars!

This book is a breakaway from my normal genre. I really like that while it’s a ‘book’ it doesn’t necessarily have to be read cover to cover. You can use this as a daily inspirational/meditative guide to remember that life is short so look for the good in everyday, because it really is there. Each short daily entry is very well written with incredible imagery. It captured all 5 senses and I felt like I was right there with her during each daily entry. Well done. 4 stars.

Everyday Enchantments by Maria DeBlassie a four-star read that will leave you musing. This wasn’t what I was expecting when I picked it up, it’s a collection of writings, some better than others, but I am sure you ill find some that will call to you in them. There are musings on many subjects in this and you will be sure to find some that will appeal.

This isn’t a story but instead short individual thoughts and well…musings, like the title indicates. DeBlassie helps you take a different look at the world around you. At the world you live in. A way to look at life that you might not have looked at before. Sometimes the musings were as simple as cooking breakfast but then lead to a deeper feeling of better health, maybe even an awakening after a bout of depression. A feeling of being in a rut but then climbing out of that rut.

Each musing is a little different. With titles like “Let Me Be”, “Cruising to Work”, and “Confessions of a Flower Eater”, you never really know what you’re going to get.

I recommend this book if you are looking for “everyday enchantments”.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a four star novel. When I first started this book, I had no clue what it was going to be about. I hate reading the descriptions of books for fear of disappointment so I survive and choose books based on covers, friends telling me about it or a book blog recommendation. That is how I happened upon this book. I did not expect to be tasked on a journey through the author’s life and how she could find happiness in everything she was doing. Magic, or belief, helps us to move through life with good intentions and good spirits. I liked how the author was able to find joy and happiness in nearly everything she came into contact with.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this book, but I found it to be original, enriching, and fulfilling. This book makes every day life better, I found myself going back and reading passages that spoke to me on a deeper level. I feel like my review can’t really do this book justice because it reaches your soul in ways that are hard to explain. This book is very rich in detail and It changed the way I see everyday mundane things for the better. This is truly a gem. I highly recommend this book.

This is so so different than any other book ive read, but in a great way. Its filled with short story type or blog style stories. Its all about finding the magic or the positives in everyday life, that I admit find hard to do some days.
I had to read this after my kids went to bed as I needed quiet, which is a first for me while reading. It was very relaxing and I really wanted to be able to picture or feel what i was reading in a different way than I was used to.
Will be looking forward to more from this author.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie is a book that is absolutely nothing like any other book I’ve ever read. I honestly never knew that books like this existed. I had never read any of this author’s work but the book came highly recommended, so I decided to give it a go.
Everyday Enchantments is a series of short essays which cover just about any and every subject possible and shows how you can find the magic in them if you look hard enough, even including very mundane things like cooking. It makes you evaluate your life and see that there is much more to it than you previously thought. You see some things very differently.
This wasn’t a book that I could read for long spells at a time. For me, I liked to ‘dip in’ for little bursts, reading a couple of essays at a time. I found that I got more out of the essays that way.
As I said, this book is totally different to anything I’ve ever read so if you are looking for something that little (or big) bit different then you should give this book a read.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjuring by Maria DeBlassie. This is a new to me author, I enjoyed this book. It was out of my usual genre. I pretty much went into this book blind. I will say that I did enjoy it. It was definitely different but sometimes different is good, as I learned while reading this book.

Maria DeBlassie’s Everyday Enchantments is a collection of short reflections on the magic of everyday life. DeBlassie’s writing is wonderfully descriptive – I could often taste and smell what I was reading!
At times I found stylistic inconsistencies a bit jarring. Although most of the book was written in second person, immersing the reader in the scenes described, there were occasional passages in first person and a couple in third. This could be a hangover from the blog posts that inspired this book, but editing could have produced a more consistent, flowing style.
This is a good book for dipping in and out of, although it can also be read cover-to-cover. The reflections remind the reader to appreciate the world around them and make time to look after themselves. It’s an inspiring, comforting read!
For me, this is a three-star book. I enjoyed the descriptive detail in many of the passages but overall found the style a little odd. The second-person narrative would work better if the book was less focused on the author’s personal experiences – whilst there were some that were relatable, the vast majority at least included aspects that I had little or no experience of. A first-person narrative might have been more appropriate.
I would recommend this to readers interested in magic and how it relates to everyday life. If you’re not sure whether or not to get this book, why not start by reading DeBlassie’s blog to get a taste of her style!

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic and Daily Conjuring’s by Maria DeBlassie was a unique read. I would give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I do not normally read non fiction but this was a refreshing read. I enjoyed getting a look into the authors mind and so many of the short stories felt right at home with me. I felt a sense of calm wash over me when I started reading. It made me want to focus on myself and my internal thoughts versus just running through the everyday tasks of life.

This was a completely different read something I wouldn’t usually pick up but I’m glad I did I really enjoyed every second of this book. I was able to sit back with a nice cuppa and indulge in this novel I was just glued to it, it’s not a very long read but it still had a captivating storyline one that will keep your interest throughout. This novel is just such an unique read it certainly isn’t something I’ve read before and it isn’t for everyone but from my opinion I would still give it go you never know you may love something different!!!

I really enjoyed this book. It is a collection of short essays about everyday things that occur in our lives and how we miss how magical and unique these experiences are.

Maria DeBlassie has put together a book of essays and the style of writing and the descriptions of the things that are experienced really makes you stop and look closer at all the little things you would miss in everyday life.

Its a great book for someone who would like to relax and look closer at what their lives hold apart from all the stress and work we all have to deal with.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria DeBlassie took me longer to read than expected, not because I didn’t enjoy it but because reading it seemed to bring a calming peace and I found myself wanting to nap while also making me think about what she was saying.

I don’t know which of the musings I liked the best, I enjoyed them all but I did like the reference to crocheting since that is something I do. It made me see it in a bit of a different light.

This is not the book to read if you’re in a hurry or looking for a quick read. This is a book to read at your own pace and savor each word and thought.

This is the first book I have read from this author and wow she blew me away. I have not read a spiritual book in a long time. This book gave me peace about life. When I started this book I could not put it down. The writing style made you feel like she was talking to you personally. It only took me a couple of hours to devour this incredible book.

This book is short stories that the author documented for a full year. She walks you through all kinds of different spiritual ideas and things to look for. This book will make you feel good and special. This author will have you thinking about your life and the decisions that you make. I’m so happy that I read this book. I can’t wait to see what this talented author will write about next.

Everyday Enchantments is a love letter to the magic of everyday life, the sweet moments and the profound that we often overlook in our hurry to get from one place to the next. What if we had the power to unplug from our daily hustle and bustle and conjure a more profound way of living rooted in natural mysticism?

We do. All it takes is the whispered wish for more everyday enchantment breathed onto a dandelion head. This collection of essays reminds us to escape into the ordinary, find beauty in a simple cup of tea or rereading a beloved novel—and joyfully let our world turn upside down when synchronicity strikes in the form of wrong turns down forgotten lanes and unexpected midnight conversations with the moon.

This book is a study in what it means to live deliciously, joyfully, and magically. And it’s an invitation to conjure your own bliss—-because let’s face it: we could all use a little more magic in our lives.
