I loved this book. It is a darker spin on Alice in Wonderlond. Evaline wants to be the next great detective (Sherlock Holmes) and practice her magic. Her dad wants her to have nothing to do with and wants her to marry the guy next door who is 10 years older than her, when she has her eyes on an old friend Delbert. When a mysterious person comes and ask for help to get back an artifact, she is intrigued. She dives into an unknown world, where she discovers Dr. Death. Can she find the artifact and save the mirror world before it’s too late? I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens next.

Quirky and left-field This was uniquely crazy! I enjoyed the dark humour and madness surrounding the eccentric characterisation. There’s suspense, sci fi, and some slightly horrific scenes but it was captivating. A very different, but talented, writing style delivers an imagery that is hard to forget. A very entertaining read.

This book has a very relatable, strong, young female main character. She is given the opportunity to assist Nikola Tesla in his secret lab, just after his last assistant has been found dead. She finds Tesla a strange man, but wants to work with him for a good recommendation. She takes it upon herself to help solve the murder of his previous assistant and find some missing paperwork. Good twist at the end. I really enjoyed this book.

This was an excellent story! Elle is so relatable, and her reactions to finding out that she’s literally not from this world is intriguing. I adore her headstrong personality and the way she faces the new situations that could have other people completely losing their minds. Locan intrigues me with his Warrior mindset and focus on duty, even as he feels connected to Elle. His protectiveness is so complete, and it makes me want to know him, but also the ones he knows. Traylon makes me laugh with his carefree attitude, even as he focuses on what he knows he needs to do. The characters are so interesting and the world the author built is amazing and I wish I could see it through my own eyes instead of through theirs.

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres, especially books focused on the WWII era. Although I mostly read books that are focused on the Jewish side of WWII, I have recently enjoyed reading books that focus on other groups that were forced to live through this war without being Nazis. This was the first book that I have read from this particular author, although the topic is one of my favorites, but I found the writing to be vivid, interesting, and well researched. The characters touched me and I felt like I was in the story. This was a quick read for me, but definitely a worthwhile one. I recommend books like this to everyone, regardless of where they live. I would read another book from this author in the future.

I love historical fiction and mysteries, so this book was definitely something in my normal genre. I liked that there were real people in the story that I could connect with what I know about historical figures, but put an original twist on it. I liked that it kept me on the edge of my seat and made it hard to put down. I found myself invested in what would happen next to the characters, especially Cora. This was the first book I read from this author, but I look forward to reading more.

This historical mystery is different than my normal eveyday reads (romance) but I really enjoyed it. It was nice diving into a mystery because I had figure out what was happening along with the main characters. There’s alot of elements to thus story, theres mystery and secrets and some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and well… you can’t forget MURDER. This was one I’d recommend if you like historic mysteries! I liked this authors writing style alot so I will be looking for more books by them in the future! Happy Reading!

Ahhh I want to read it again! And I probably will! I loved Kiss A Thief so much! I couldn’t put it down. It wasn’t what I was expecting going in or even as I started to read it. Which is what kept me intrigued. Mia and Dylan are wonderful! I love their character development throughout. This book is hot, sexy, happy, sad, and full of betrayal. Yet the characters feel like they could be your everyday friends. Mia, an art gallery curator, is struggling to make ends meet, while doing something she loves. After meeting an alluring stranger, that has her captivated, at an art opening, changes her life. She falls and she falls hard, but what happens when trust comes into play? Dylan, one of the wealthiest bachelors in London, has been caught off guard by a beautiful stranger. He has to see her again, what he doesn’t realize at the time, is she is so much more. He trusts her implicitly, until he doesn’t. Breaking her heart and his own in the process. Will Mia & Dylan find their way back to one another? Will he ever believe she had nothing to do with the theft? I want to be the friend in Mia’s corner while she’s in turmoil dealing with the fallout of being the number 1 person of interest. I want to lash out on her behalf. I’ve become so invested. I just hope everything works out in the end. What did you think I was going to tell you? What’s the fun in that? Set in year 1899 in Colorado Springs, this book follows the young protagonist Cora work with famous Nikola Tesla in his secret lab . She assists Tesla in his detective work to unravel the mystery behind the murder of his assistant. She faces opposition from her own mother but she hangs on with her friends. It is a well narrated plot and the mystery lingers till the end. It is one of those stories which has a very strong female lead, in the times, when women were struggling to establish their footage. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and look forward to more from this author.

This book has some excellent world building that enhances the story. Although I’m not familiar with the demon hunter sub-genre within the fantasy genre, there was wonderful description to help the reader follow along. The main character, Rovena, has depth and an attitude to match that I found likeable. Once I started reading, I wanted to know more about this world of demons and hunters. The hierarchy became clearer for me and I was able to visualize what the characters looked like. I appreciate how the author took the time to paint a word picture of the story setting. Once again our author knocks it out of the park. I have read this author before and she is quickly becoming one of my favorites, her writing is just simply amazing and she always manages to keep me on the edge of my seat. This book really had a little bit of everything mystery, intrigue, twists and turns, and of course murder. While I am not much for the historical genre, our author really grabbed my attention with this one. I thought I had it all figured out but by the end of the novel and the authors wonderful plot twists, I was all wrong. So if you need a good mystery to make you think, then pick this one up today.

This was such a sweet read with great characters. Corrie has just moved home to her family farm after a tragic accident has left her dad unable to maintain the farm. To top it all off her only farmhand just quit. Corrie is beginning to somewhat resent returning home and taking over the farm. It will take a miracle for the family farm to stay afloat. She is too stubborn to admit she needs help. Sometimes help comes in ways other than you asking for it. It starts with her former boyfriend the pastor in town, Luke, who she has a very rocky past with. It is followed by his brother Aaron who wants to help as well. Corrie reluctantly accepts their help and Aaron is quickly becoming a very key piece to the farm as well as maybe more to Corrie. Corrie is truly beginning to fall for Aaron and it seems that the feeling is reciprocated. However, would Aaron still like her if she knew about her past? Meanwhile, a stranger from out of town comes crashing into Corries life. This pregnant woman becomes a large piece of her life. Violet is definitely becoming a part of the Lancaster (Corrie’s) family. As violet becomes more important to the family, there are mysterious fires being set to the farm. Is it somehow related to Violet? Or is it the work of a disgruntled farmhand who doesn’t want to see Corrie succeed? I have to be completely honest, I loved this book. I was hesitant upon beginning to read this due to the fact that I am not generally a big fan of brothers who are vying for the same girl. However, the way that the author handles this is amazing. I truly developed feelings for the characters and found myself crying at multiple points as I was reading. This was such a heart warming book and I loved that there were many happily ever afters in it as well.

Mermaid and the Water Magnifying Glass is a part of the Mermaid Science Series by Lois Wickstrom. This is the perfect story to get young kids to get interested in science. The book is good for ages 4-8. The story takes the children through the science process. They are on an adventure to make a magnifying glass out of drops of water. This will pique the interest of girls using Trezzie the mermaid. The characters are unique just like other children. I love the fantasy concept to teach the concept of science to young children. I recommend this story and series for young children.

I love this story . I love the story line . She had a hard decision to make who she was going to choose. I’m gonna let you read the whole story to find out what happens. I can’t wait to read more books from this author.
When I started this book it seemed it might be another one of those just taking up space on my bookshelves kind of books. But as the story unfolds and each layer is peeled back you get a rather fascinating gem that made me gasp when it was over because I am dying to know what happens next.
Evaline just wants to be able to study the subjects she wants and to one day be a detective. Unfortunately, that all goes away after tragedy strikes her family. Now, her father, who doesn’t want her to practice her skills or become a detective, insists she learn more ladylike pursuits and marry the neighbor who is far too old to Evaline. Then a stranger approaches her father asking for help only he refuses but Evaline isn’t willing to let go without a fight especially with a bigger mystery on the horizon. Sucked into a different dimension to battle a deadly doctor and secure an artifact can’t be that difficult. However, no one seems forthcoming and everyone has their own agenda. They are all pawns in someone else’s game but just who will come out on top? Can Evaline solve the mystery in the mirror dimension and return to London?
This book is reminiscent of a history romance in how females are expected to behave and portray themselves. Overall it was a slow build up until the action unfolds and then it draws you in until the very last page. If you like quirky female characters solving mysteries and dealing in magic then this is for you. It reminded me of the Netflix movie Enola Holmes and I could picture that character in this novel for sure.

I was so excited for this book when I read the blurb. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The story is sweet. Mark is a wealthy rescuer of horses. Mark’s parents died when he was young, leaving him with a desire to help animals and the means to do so. Mark has a hidden talent, painting. He paints with such skill and feeling that you can practically feel the power and muscle of each horse he paints. Paige, a sought after gallery curator, spots a painting of Mark’s. Paige is enthralled. She must get him to agree to a show in New York at the gallery she represents. Paige goes to Montana, where Mark lives, to get him to agree to paint for her gallery. Instalove connection. Each has their own baggage they have to battle to allow themselves to believe that they could love again.
I enjoyed the description of the scenery, the paintings, and the horses. The author did a fantastic job with these elements. For me, it was the lack of dialogue that bogged this sweet story down. I needed to hear these characters more to connect. The author told me everything I needed to know but, again for me, left me wanting more interaction not only with the characters but between the characters.
Maybe this delightful story just wasn’t my cup of tea after my typical fare. The story is enchanting, the characters darling. I just didn’t connect. Sorry.

Well this story felt like it has it all. Historical fiction – check. Mystery and intrigued – check. Interesting characters – check. A great storyline- check. I did not take long at all for me to become invested in this book. I wanted to figure out the mystery and see what was going on. The author really draws you into the book and takes you on the same journey as the characters. I thought the book was really well written. It was so easy to imagine the time and place the author were describing. At times I felt like I could really picture myself there, right among the characters. This book was a great one to read and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Definitely a book worth picking up to read!

What a lovely romance story centred around some heart-warming characters. These are the kind of characters that I can easily get lost in and find myself reading through the whole book without realising. The author has captured the essence of a small town romance while providing an interesting and engaging story. The characters really did make this story for me though. I was just drawn to them and really connected with them right from the word go. I found myself rooting for them almost immediately and I couldn’t wait to see how their story would turn out. This author never fails to produce a book I enjoy and this is just another one to add to that list. A brilliant read I thoroughly enjoyed.

You really get to witness the power of love overcome the dark and twisted. Truly remarkable piece of art.

I really enjoyed this romance story. It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but with a MM romance. This story is full of Forbidden Love, and the twists and turns to find their happy ever after. I also loved the twist of it being about messengers(angels) and watchers (fallen angels). There is a war between them and with watchers being left on earth they teamed up and supported the demons to fight against the angels. I’m not going to give too much away but the romance is between a watcher and a messenger so you can imagine the problem that brings with the sides being at war. The author does an amazing job at retelling the classic tale and adding the unique twist of the paranormal storyline. The characters are really well written and their personalities really jumped off the page. You will feel like you know them personally but the end.
The year is 1899 and Cora Croft is seventeen years old, she lives is Colorado Springs and is in the last year of Palmer High School and is hoping to continue her studies in a prestigious university, however being interested in biological sciences and a woman is not going to help, so when she hears about a position as an assistant to Nikola Tesla, she is dubious, but decides to apply for the position anyway. The day she goes to see him, she is accompanied by Marshall, a long time friend and Harrison, a student in her class who is always trying to charm her, she has heard differing opinions on Tesla, but she wishes to make up her own mine, however, the position isn’t what she expected when the tasks are menial, however, when some papers go missing from the lab, Tesla reveals that this isn’t the first time this has happened and that the young man who was found dead the day before was his previous assistant.
This revelation shocks all three of them, but when Tesla announces that without those papers, he might as well just pack up and leave Colorado Springs, so Cora decides that she is going to investigate who has stolen the paperwork as well as look further into the death of the young man which also seems suspicious, so she asks Marshall and Harrison for their help and they agree, although reluctantly. Cora starts that evening by asking Harrison and Tesla questions, however, they don’t know overly much, so she decides to use her societal position to ask around the town and see if she can uncover any pertinent information, while Harrison and Marshall use their own connections to try and find information their way.
Cora soon realises that they might be in over her head when things start to happen and the more she investigates, the more danger creeps closer to her, Marshall and Harrison, but will they be able to solve the mystery before the person behind these nefarious acts comes after them? This is a historical mystery which is full of secrets, revelations and murder where you will be sucked into the investigation all the way until the suspect is uncovered.

Mia is a woman who hasn’t had a lot of luck over the last few years, she has been kidnaped, tortured and now she is fighting for her life in an arena on Planet Nod which is run by a sadistic individual who runs an arena where Mia has to fight to the death everyday, but she is damn good at it and has become a fan favourite. The fact that she has survived all of this is a miracle, but it has changed her, however, she has never forgotten the dream of escaping and trying to go back to her old life, but it has felt so far away for a long time that she has resigned herself to her fate, but one day that all changes.
Castor is an Atlantean and his race have been reclusive, but he is about to bring them into the light and become a bit of a spectacle when he goes to liberate her, however, he soon comes to realise that this will not be as simple as he first planned. When Castor and Mia first lay eyes on each other, they cannot look away and this is something neither of them expected and it is this that leads them into trouble as Castor’s plan goes awry and the two end up thrown together in the arena and have to make a decision in order to survive, although Mia does not trust easily and she doesn’t believe that Castor is meant to be her saviour, she can’t.
The owner of the arena decides that both Mia and Castor are going to have to fight in the ultimate fighting challenge and battle for their survival, so as she explains just what they have gotten themselves into and how this challenge works, they both devise an escape plan, but while this is all happening, they cannot deny that there is a growing attraction between them, no matter how much they try, it is at this point that Castor realises that Mia is his soulmate, but Mia is shocked and struggles to accept it.
Will Castor and Mia be able to escape the arena before the big battle or will death come before escape and how will their bond as fated mates get in the way, or enable them to overcome the odds stacked against them? This is a fast paced fantasy where the odds are against everyone and danger lies around every turn which will draw you in and keep you invested all the way through.

4 Stars Kiss A Thief by Marina Hanna is a fun romance with a love aspect – as well as sizzling relationship, out of this world encounters, hilarious, tension, crime and investigating, mystery, trusting problems. When Billionaire Dylan Knight meets Mia Harris the love starts right away. When I say love starts right away their minds go straight to each other, can’t take their minds off the other. Why did they meet? What is really going on? Is one being set up to take the fall for the other? When bad things happen I think they are both set up to fail. Dylan and Mia, were great together and I don’t think anyone would mind if they fell hard for each other. I think they were an easy couple to get connected with. Did not want to see them fail. I thought the beginning of the story was a little slow but then the last part of the story felt a little rushed to get everything in the final story. Things that were made quite an issue in the story suddenly didn’t seem to matter much anymore, or were brushed over/aside. This was such a great read. With everything going on in the world right now, it was a perfect way to emphasize and describe what a global pandemic can cause. The way the author humanized the characters and their struggles with the self and wanting to do the right things was so good.

Tale of a Body Thief (Rovena Silvex Book 1) by Kristy Centeno. This book is a sit down and hang on type of read. You will be flipping the pages as fast as you can to find out what happens. Its the story of Rovena Silvex who has the special ability to give life and take it away. She has killed tons of demons and she has it perfected. When she is asked to visit the county morgue to figure out what killed this person she is shocked when the body rises from the dead and begins walking around with her. When she figures out the body walking around with her is not the soul that was in the morgue things take an interesting turn. Now everything Rovena has ever known is different, instead of killing a demon she is trying to protect one.

Amber Waves of Grace by Jessica Berg. This was such a good clean romance. It’s the story of Corrie Lancaster who has come home to help run the family farm due to her father having an accident. The main hired man who has run things forever up and quits out of the blue so Corrie is tasked with finding a replacement. When Aaron Tuttle, a neighbor steps up to help Corrie is reluctant to let him because his brother Luke is the one who broke her heart. She soon realizes she doesn’t have a choice and as they spend time together they realize they enjoy each others company on and off the farm. The problem is Luke is still wanting to restart a relationship with Corrie without ever really admitting his wrongs. When a mysterious woman shows up will it help Corrie get Luke’s attention away from her. Will she and Aaron be able to make things work? This is a great clean romance!
This book packs a punch. It is a definite knockout. EmVee is one brave young woman with some supernatural talents that is out to find out who killed her father and what happened to her family. Favorites from The Void such as Kyson, Rachel, and…eh…Megan are back to help EmVee get answers along with new friends, Demi and Sax. Secrets abound, along with monsters. This author writes a book that has you holding your breath because the action gets more intense the further into the story you go. We learn so much more about The Vigilant as you get into the story. (Is that the group EmVee’s father was part of?) The characters are insanely complex and yet, young adults just wanting to live life. The plot is smooth with twists that fit right in. It comes together like the perfect waterfall. The antagonist just wants to cause trouble and not be found. They do that so very well. EmVee will not give up I like the message the story gives. It’s okay to ask for help. Girls can do anything they put their mind to. It’s also a body positive story. She’s a fighter but also wants to be seen as feminine. Great story. I love the whole series. This is book #1. You should reada this.

This book made me ugly cry. Not just the lone tear that I normally shed but actually sobs. The emotion bleeds off the pages and I was drawn straight into the world. I love the writing, so easy to connect with and raw. This book takes off right where book 1 ended and it didn’t take me long to be swept away into Cam’s life. This was not an easy ride and every blow felt so real. The creation of the world, the character development and the whole concept just comes together flawlessly. Can’t wait to launch into book 3.

5 Stars Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
Paige and the Reluctant Artist is a sweet Contemporary Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until the end. This is a fairly new author to me and my first book I’ve read but I’m definitely going to check out what other books she has. This is a story about Paige and Mark, Paige is a curator at a posh New York Art Gallery who sees a painting of a beautiful of a horse and now she must track down the Artist in Montana. Mark is a amazing artist and owns Carmel Ranch and rescuer of horses. Mark is attracted to her but is reluctant about putting his paintings in the gallery until she makes him an offer he can’t refuse. Get ready to be taken on quite the journey with these two and a horse named Storm. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author
