My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this paranormal story by this new to me author. I haven’t picked up one of their books before but I decided that this one sounded good and had an amazing cover so I took the leap, I am so glad I did. The writing was good and the characters were fantastic. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 & 3 and I hope they’re just as good as this one! If you’re looking for a good paranormal story to spend the evening reading I would definitely recommend this one!
Happy Reading!

This story follows Emma as she runs from her ex. She ends up in a small town in England where she meets Toby, an innkeeper, but he also has secrets of his own. They get their start when he saves her from being mugged. Turns out, Emma has a stalker and Toby will not let anything happen to her. What made this story pop for me is that both main characters are strong, and I loved that it was set in England. I have never been, but the descriptions of scenery were detailed nicely.

Broken Circle: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 1 AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Heather Lovelace

Four out of five stars

I thoroughly enjoy the books McKinley writes and was looking forward to an audio book from her to take it to the next level. I always appreciate the interpretation I receive of a book when I’m able to listen to it read. I felt the narrator did a fantastic job telling the story with emotion and connection. I feel like I appreciated the storyline even more having been able to listen to it unfold. Highly recommend the book and audio version. Both are worthwhile additions to all libraries!

Heartbeats and Roses: A Small Town Valentine's Day Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance)Heartbeats and Roses: A Small Town Valentine’s Day Romance by Jae Dawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Heartbeats and Roses: A Small Town Valentine’s Day Romance by Jae Dawson is the second story in A Hartwood Holiday Romance series. This can be read as a standalone story and enjoyed without the first book. The story has romance, second chances, and more to it. I liked the idea of someone going back home and there being a continuation of their story but also the idea of new beginnings. This hit well because of the theme of Valentine’s day and gave me a little jolt of love and romance. I like the characters and wanted the best for them. I look forward to reading more in this series and from the author in the future.

Daddy’s Girl (Freshwater Book 3) by Belinda Williams – Review by Betsy Melano

Daddy's Girl (Freshwater Book 3)Daddy’s Girl by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Daddy’s Girl by Belinda Williams is the 3rd book in the Freshwater series. This happens to be the first book I’ve read by this author – I will definitely be reading more of her books in the near future. I love Emily who is a strong, smart, straightforward, no nonsense kind of character. I couldn’t help but love Joel who is honest but very reserved due to childhood trauma and a life changing event. Emily and Joel are convinced they are not relationship material. They never expected to find such a captivating soul in each other. These two have some relationship struggles and blunder a bit, but are so relatable and lovable you won’t want to put the book down.

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Mirela Ruiz

License to Bite: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen was a fantastic listen! I just adored Jane Anderson! She made me laugh and refused to be the secondary character. I feel like she was the hero of this story. Ethan was well written and was great to see him come alive as the story continued. I did not see the ending coming and it was just beautiful. I cannot wait to read the next book!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moonlight and Belladonna: A Small Town Halloween Romance by Jae Dawson is the first in A Hartwood Holiday Romance. Let me start with I love that the primary character is named Belladonna. This is a cute Halloween story of a high school teacher struggling with a high school musical when a chance encounter changes all of that. The story is sweet with a romance in a small town. I enjoyed the story and the writing. I am looking forward to reading more in this series set in holiday scenarios and from this author in the future.

This was a great variety of romance sub-genres. Even though the stories were quite short, I liked how characters were developed and how easy the stories were to read. This is what you need if you want to read cute romances that remind you how single you are.

Stormy’s Thunder (Satan’s Devils MC Utah #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Carrie Reed

Stormy's Thunder (Satan's Devils MC Utah #2)Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

As always I can’t give anything less than 5 stars! Manda Mellett continues to amaze me with her writing and story telling. The opening of this book had me sucked in straight away, at first I was confused why Swift was narrating, when she started describing the way they found Stormy my heart clinched. Although I really wasn’t a fan of Stormy from his actions in the previous books, I never wanted him to be introduced to his own story like that. My mind was changed about Stormy as I read on. I can understand and sympathize with him, the way he grew up and what he has faced throughout his life, really shows there is more behind the mess up of a club member he was. Introduce Cat, the way her and Stormy meet is heartbreaking. I could quickly tell that Cat was going to be good for him, she was going to change him for the better. They are so sweet together and I was ecstatic to see Stormy finally happy, in a good place and with his club. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

NICE! I enjoyed this book so much, the story line was fantastic and the characters were perfect and easy to fall in love with. Riley, this poor girl has been through so much, with her parents, her past and now her present with someone is terrorizing her. I am so thankful she meets Xander and he can’t seem to stay away. On the other hand Xander is going through a recent break up and I like the fact that when he heard Riley, he just knew she was the one for him was so sweet. There was so much going on holding my attention, with trying to figure out who was trying to hurt Riley and then who had sabotaged Xander’s last mission. I was kind of expecting, but still completely surprised to find out who the killer was chasing after Riley. The fact that the killer was following along with a book that Riley was reading made the story that much more intense. I could not stop reading and now that Riley and Xander have their ending I can’t wait to see what comes next!

Crave (Clark Family Series Book 1)Crave by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

Fantastic story! I loved everything about this book, the characters, the story line and especially all the drama and romance! Sandy and Jacob’s relationship is the cutest and sweetest, I love how they interact with each other and the love they show. I love that this is an interracial love story, I pictured Sandy as a beautiful Haitian woman and the way she is described, she deserves only the best when it comes to love. All of the characters that make her doubt herself and her relationship with Jake really started to make me mad, Carol, from Jake’s work, the hostess at the restaurant and even her ex boyfriend, the points they made or the things they said were uncalled for and obnoxious. Her ex boyfriend, it is easy to see he just said the things he did because he was jealous that she moved on without him. I was so happy to see Jake squash all her doubts and repeatedly show and tell her that he loved her the most. This couple is just fantastic and I really look forward to see what comes next, maybe Jake’s baby brother.

The Graceful Ghost by Eleanor Dixon – Review by Carrie Reed

The Graceful GhostThe Graceful Ghost by Eleanor Dixon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

Nice short and sweet read perfect for young girls or any age really. I was sad for poor Lauren, she seemed to be at war with herself. She loves dance but feels she shouldn’t be doing it anymore as a punishment to herself. On one hand she is mad at her dad for leaving, on the other she thinks it’s her fault for his accident. She also seems older than her years for wrestling with her feelings of staying in the dance school or leaving but wanting to do what is best for her mom, not herself. The character of Grace is great in helping Lauren realize her dreams and helping achieve them by stopping the bullying that is going on from another dancer who is jealous of the attention Lauren is receiving. I really enjoyed watching the sweet friendship of Lauren and Katie grow and, seeing the bully of the school, Allison, finally come to realize that the way she had been acting was only hurting herself in the end. This book has such sweet moments and nice lessons to be learned.

Such a fun retelling of Cinderella. This book was giving me Pride and Prejudice vibes and I was loving it. I like how two friends devised the plan to trick everyone to see how they would treat each of them based on their status. Melinda however was not too sure about the identities of each man. Melinda is smart, independent and a little on the rebellious side. It’s sad to see she has to suffer with her cousins and Aunt who treat her like Cinderella was treated, but she found ways to get around her orders. I like how Kaye, her childhood friend fell for her, and she thought she was falling in love with the poorer of the two men… Such a nice short and sweet story.

Daddy’s Girl (Freshwater Book 3) by Belinda Williams – Review by Carrie Reed

Daddy's Girl (Freshwater Book 3)Daddy’s Girl by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

Loved it! I really enjoyed this book and all of the characters. The story was great, there was just enough drama to go along with the romance for Joel and Em. Em is a fantastic character, she is independent, smart, funny, beautiful and she totally deserves Joel. My heart broke for Joel, I can totally see why he thought he didn’t deserve anything good in his life, but agree with his friend and business partner Nate, that he is a fighter and deserves everything good that has come into his life if not to make up for his crappy childhood. Em is perfect in the way that she reacted to finding out about Joel, she was in shock and left with her father but told Joel she would talk to him the next morning once she could wrap her head around everything, Joel being broken took that another way and leaves. I hated her dad for even butting in, in the first place and the way he didn’t even try to listen to Joel’s side of the story. Their story is sweet and I am actually kind of upset there wasn’t more to end on, I was hoping for an epilogue of some sort but in the end still an excellent read, and worth it.

I enjoyed this young adult story. This is a new author for me, I look forward to reading more from them in the future. This is a mystery story that is shorter and fun to read. The characters are a group of eighth graders who raised some money for a charity but the story changes when the money is stolen. As a group they try to find out who is behind it, will they solve their mystery? They made the story entertaining and even a few laughs. This would make a great story for any young adults who like mysteries. I truly enjoyed this book and I would highly recommend it.

Happily, ever after is a collection of stories written by different styles of authors and I love reading these types of collections because this is were, I find new authors and interesting characters. The books are easy to read and I can get through a couple in a coffee or lunch break. I defy anyone who does not either find a new author or a great story within this collection. I had a few favourites within the collection but my favourite was Don’t Worry, I still hate you by Marie Skye so I decided to review this book: –

Don’t Worry, I still hate you – Marie Skye
What happen in Vegas stays in Vegas they say, well I can tell you that is bull because who’s the last person you want to see to become your roommate. Yep, you guessed it the mistake from Vegas.
This is a fun, full of chemistry story which will have you routing for the main characters although at times its rocky and you’re not sure where they will end up. The story is a quick read and for the length well-constructed and you don’t feel cheated with this being a novella. I have read a few of Marie’s books and they always deliver and this one does not disappoint.
