Nikki Lynn Barrett does it again, Sleeping Angel is just as amazing as Peaceful Slumber was. Once again Ms. Barrett takes us on emotional roller coaster ride, capturing her readers from page 1. This book has literally everything that a reader could possibly want from love, hate, joy, fear, sadness, and more, Ms. Barrett will have you not wanting to put it down. I felt so many emotions in reading this story that I cried multiple times and had chills going down my spine while reading this novel. Just like her other novels Ms. Barrett’s characters have so much depth, and description you can’t help but fall in love with their stories. I have read several of Ms. Barret’s novels and loved them all, but after reading Sleeping Angel I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
This is a great story. Tally, a 13-year-old from England accompanies her father to travel the world after the death of her mother. Wearing the pendant her mother always wore, she discovers it houses an ancient angel who helps guide the wearer toward intelligence and reasoned judgement. It’s a good thing too, because Tally is a brave girl who can’t sit idly by when she learns that children are being stolen in the city she is staying in. She’ll need every bit of that smarts and reason to tackle some serious bad guys and and have the courage to seek justice for them.
This is a fun book with lots to keep the reader entertained. Anyone who’s been an underestimated kid will be rooting for Tally and cheering for her success. That’s not to say she isn’t scared – of course she is! But she chooses to act anyways, which is the mark of a true hero.

Sexy drug was a great 5 star read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down.
After an attempt on Katie’s life. Ramone is put in charge of being her bodyguard, his boss’s daughter. He is not thrilled about the job at all. Katie also has her opinion of Ramone. But as these two spend more time together they get to see another side to each other.
Will Ramone be able to keep Katie safe?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. Ramone, ah Ramone where to start with this man. I really liked him and enjoyed the build up between him and Katie. Katie, my heart went out to her because of the father she had. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We get drama, danger, suspense and so much more. I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. I loved the fiesta attitude of Josh (Nightfall) and the character of Tamara. This book is a unique twist on a romance between shifter and a human in that the human meets the shifter in their animal state. In the case a wolf.
When a wolf/dog turns up on Tamara’s doorstep she takes it in and give him a home. Naming him Nightfall she loves him and treats him as her trusted pet. However there is more to Nightfall than meets the eye and being a pet is the last thing he wants to be to Tamara.
Nightfall is actually a shifter called Josh. He knows Tamara is his fated mate and he needs to be near her and make her see that. However with Tamara’s past making it difficult for her to trust and accept love how can he prove to her his intentions and love are real. Especially when he starts life with her one a lie as her pet.
Forbidden Wolf is such an amazing start to the series!! Love love loved it! First time read from this author and most certainly will not be my last. This book is so good, I absolutely loved this story. It was such an enjoyable exciting story line with awesome characters. This paranormal romance, is about a couple and their forbidden love. There’s plenty of action, betrayals, steamy lust, even love, secrets, shifters, vampires and a newfound allegiance after years of an ongoing war! I’m so excited to finish the series and see what happens next in the story!

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, the story wasn’t complicated to follow and was lighthearted. Lillie has been mugged when two Zayed come to her assistance, however her association with them put her in the sights of an enemy. The blue Zayed people are mysterious, keeping themselves to themselves, but they intrigue Lillie and when they offer to help she accepts. She forms an instant bond with Heath, clumsy Clay, Chief and Brian. I enjoyed all the characters, they were easy to get to know and very likeable. They now need to work together to help protect the Zayed village.

Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes is the first book in the Kiss Me series by Danielle Jacks. It’s the first time I had read any of this author’s work but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a go. I’m glad that I did as I enjoyed this book and will definitely read more from this series and this author. In this book we get the story of Zoe Merrill. She’s just broken up with her boyfriend which has resulted in her losing her job and her home, so she’s pretty desperate. But a chance meeting with her brother’s ex-best friend Damien leads to a whole new life for Zoe. I really enjoyed reading Zoe and Damien’s story. It’s quite a short book so I devoured it in a few hours. With Damien as her fake fiancé, Zoe’s life is pretty much turned upside-down but this makes for a great entertaining read which had me hooked and desperate to know how it all worked out. There’s a lot of fun moments in the book as Zoe and Damien try to fight the attraction that they both have for each other. This is a great read that I’d recommend.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Barrett, but it is my first book in the Soul Connection Series. Barrett has yet again captured my attention. Sleeping Angel had me hooked from the start.

Their interaction with each other as well as their struggles made this story interesting as well as entertaining. They tried so hard to stay out of each other’s lives. I found myself wanting more from this author. Well Done Peyton Banks! Well Done!
Next Door to a Star by Krysten Lindsay Hagar a dramatic five-star read this is number two in the Star series, this was such a great reminder of the pain’s teenagers go through every day, the drama and upset and just the whole feelings rushing through make this a great story. I am definitely a lot older than the intended audience, but I still loved it. Hadley, Hadley, Hadley what are we going to do with you, I went between loving and hating her so much, but then I remembered she is a teenager and the drama that goes on at that age, it makes it all the more understandable. This is a sweet clean story that gives me hope and makes me desperate for number two.

Kissing Scars by Jim Shomos a sweet and funny five-star read. This was my first by this author and I hope not my last, the writing style was nice, and the flow kept me hooked, the emotions running through this story will astound you, its raw and emotional and at times will suffocate you, and then in others chuckling and smiling with them. This was surprisingly short, it seemed like I had just started and then I was halfway through. But that did mean that you could enjoy the story.

The plot keeps you on your toes as there are many twists that will have you guessing about what’s going on. The characters have personalities that feel so real and human due to their flaws. A little paranormal with some reincarnation, romance, murder, and some comedy just makes this book a must read. I can’t give too much away but you have GOT TO read this. I love this author. New fan for life her.
Read this before getting into Brink of Denial! Such a fantastic kick off into the characters you will inevitably want more of. The novella is one you can get through in one sitting but give yourself time because you will want to immediately start the next book in the series.

Sleeping Angel by Nikki Lynn Barrett is book two of the Soul Connection Series. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get into this book as it’s a little more paranormal than I usually go for but I was pleasantly surprised!
Logan lost his little sister Andi and everything has seems to spiral out of control for him from there. His guilt and his hate for Angel eat him up. If only he could have saved her. Angel knows about Logan’s hate for her. She feels enough self inflicted guilt she can’t really blame him for his anger. The night of Angel’s birthday everything changes. Will Angel and Logan be able to move passed all their pain?
I couldn’t put this book down! I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next. The suspense was intense. I was really rooting for Angel and Logan. I could relate to Logan’s pain even though I thought he was punishing Angel a little too harshly. I really enjoyed this book even though I was hesitant about it at first.
Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1) by Melody Calder follows the storylines for Ramone and Katie. Katie, the daughter of a ruthless criminal, is in danger and she gets a bodyguard courtesy of her father, Ramone.
The tension in the book is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The characters interactions with each other seems like something you could find in a tv show or movie. I kept getting that sensation while reading it that it could be a tv show. The portrayal of evil was believable and sometimes uncomfortable. It was a great read that I binged in a day.

I have read many books by this author and have enjoyed all of them. I especially loved the first book in this series and was super excited about this one as I was left with a few questions at the end of the first. It was awesome getting back to Scott and Zelda and I would have loved more of their story in this book. In saying that I didn’t fall into this one quite as deep as I did the first. It still had all of the amazing writing I’ve come to expect from a book by this author but this one had me confused most of the time. There are a lot of moving parts and trying to keep up was a challenge. It took me a bit to finish it as it was quite long. I did love the mystery and never knowing what secret would be revealed next. It was just a bit complicated trying to keep the characters straight and I did have to go back every now and then to get back on pace. Logan and Angel were strong characters and I did love both of them.
The ending was awesome and helped clear up some of the confusion, but not all of it. I love this author and will read anything she comes out with, this one was just not one of my favorites although I did enjoy most of it.
Sexy Drug is the first book in the Losing My Heart series by Melody Calder. This is a fantastic romantic suspense, with a enemies to lovers/mafia element, some drama, danger, tension, and more. I was pulled into the story quite quickly and was avidly reading to discover how it all played out in the end. Katie is the daughter of a powerful and dangerous drug lord. She has the reputation of being a spoiled princess. Ramone is one of her fathers trusted men. They have a mutual dislike of one another- so things get heated when Katie’s safety is on the line and Ramone is tasked with keeping her safe. Thrust together, the sparks soon fly. Get set for a fantastic read! Now I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This was a first for me from this author and was an ok read. A shifter-romance, the characters are complex. There are some really cute moments that keep the story flowing and kept me reading until the end. The storyline was slow moving for me though and I wanted to connect more. This is my first book by L.D. Wosar. I am happy to say that I enjoyed reading Wild Vamp. I didn’t know the characters when I started reading, but it is pretty easy to pick up their general relationships. The story has a lot of plot twists which makes it a quick read.
Dominic Belluomo is the King of the Milite Coven of vampires. Along with his wife, Kaysee, they are watching the number of vampires dwindle to almost nothing in the US due to the vycan plague (vampire/Lycan hybrids). Kaysee is certain that going after the front person of the attacks, Panthaos, will help them find the source of the problem.
Going out of their way to try to defeat Panthaos and his hybrids before their vampire numbers are no more takes a lot more from the coven they thought possible. Loss of members, kidnappings, and a hidden foe lead them on a path that could lead to their destruction. Will they overcome all their obstacles and restore their vampire numbers?

This introspective trip down memory lane helps Andy to remember that she IS fae, and that her current situation isn’t permanent. Even though her fae friends are almost all gone, SHE is still fae. She still has access to the magic and wonder of being an eclipse dancer.

This was very interesting to read. I liked the characters and how they were developed. At times I couldn’t help but think that I was reading an adult version of The Smurfs! I mean… the guys are blue, the girl is blonde with a white dress, and there’s an evil sorcerer who talks to an animal side kick. (shrugs shoulders)
It was entertaining to say the least! Since she left it with a big cliff hanger, I now need to read the second part to find out how it ends!

Oh my I really loved this book. This contemporary romance about Leo & Sanaya is breathtaking. It is romantic overload with these two. The reference to Latika’s Theme from Slumdog Millionaire kind of stuck and I ended up listening to it while I read and it pushed me further into the feel of the book. This was my first book by Jim Shomos and it was so good. The words just transported me away!

A great surprising love story that keeps you turning pages. Sugar & Spice by Phoebe Alexander provides some very steamy romance scenes while you root for Jolie Cox to get what she has deprived herself from for a long time. As a single mother of two children, who works two jobs, who doesn’t have much time to herself until she meets Marcus Young. She lets herself experience things she hasn’t in a long time. But is there deception in the air?
Very good read. Andy is half human and half fairy, and the story goes between caring for her dying mother and going back to her childhood days. Parts of the story were hard to follow for me when going back and forth, but overall, the story flowed all together. My heart goes out to Andy as she deals with many loses in her life. This story is magical and a good read relaxing day.

Blue Summer Part Two continues where Part One left off, just days after Lillie meets the Zayed and starts to become part of their world. She doesn’t have much time to think however, as the villain Erius is back to his usual tricks, and manages to capture her once again. Lots of new developments in this installment, which make for an interesting read. Lillie learns about her own abilities, and just what she is capable of in times of stress. I like her character and unwillingness to stand back while men fight her battles. She is just as calm and dependable as the Zayed. Love how much they respect and admire her. A fun romance with some steamy sections, this story is easy to devour.
