This book would make a killer start to a TV series. I am a huge fan of shows like Bones and Castle. I was enticed by fantastic synopsis and slightly because I love the song Hell on Heels by the Pistol Annies. One of my only problems is that PJ seems like she was originally written as a male character but then stereotypical male things were switched to female things, like beer to wine ect. But honestly it was pretty easy to ignore that bit of it because I was so engrossed in the story and where the plot was heading. Very excited to read book 2!

Broken Pieces by Judith B. Pinkard is her debut novel which is a biographical story that is heartbreaking and thought provoking. This is her journey as she sees it and what her family went through. Judith is honest in her telling and leaves nothing unsaid and it is brave of her to share it with us. It is almost clinical in the way it is written as if it is someone on the outside looking in but it packs a very emotional punch.
Judith was considered a miracle baby her parents were so happy and in love until a horrific tragedy left them all broken in one way or another. It is full of pain and suffering, turmoil and insecurities as they try to find their way back to a new ‘normal’.

Wolf (The Fairy Tale Series Book 3) by Jody Lynn Daniels 4 Stars!!!!
I like finding new authors along with new series. I quite often find myself reading them out of order but that is ok. I really enjoyed this book and found it to be quite heart warming. The author has a refreshing writing style and brings the characters to life.
The chemistry between Maggie and Carson is quite literally explosive. The whole past history that they share really brings a lot of spark to the book and the underlying misconception on Maggie’s part adds to it. The way that he feels like he should be off limits but is really what she needs just makes for just the right amount of drama added to the book. I like how Carson pursues her and fights to bring their past to an understanding. I really couldn’t wait to finish the book to see how it would end . I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future as well as more of this series.

What a book! I heard people saying what a great book this is, but I never expected it to be as brilliant as what it was. This is my first read from this author and defiantly will not be my last. Lynne Russell has created an incredibly written book that is suspenseful, has humour and is totally captivating until the very end. It was fast-paced, engaging, captivating and thrilling, it made me physically laugh out loud on quite a few occasions and made me not want to put the read down.
Can we also point out how incredible P.J is. She is the perfect leading lady that makes this book even better. This book keeps you guessing and you don’t want to put it down until you have it all worked out.
This was one book that I want to read over and over again, I enjoyed it that much! This is a book that shouldn’t be missed, its a series I can tell is going to be epic and brilliant all at the same time! Do not miss this read!

Wolf (Fairy Tale Series Book 3) by Jody Lynn Daniels Four Stars
It normal to believe things without facts. What isn’t normal us avoiding the one person who could bring you a moment of peace. Mag and Sasha are adorable together than add Carson. Had a girl drooling. Had me ready for more babies with how he was with the kids. The author wrote freely and smooth. You could tell from how the story is setup that she cares for the characters. I like how I was able to read the story without stopping and wondering what was meant to be said. I think every story has a rhythm. I liked the way the words fit together.

Hell on Heels by Lynne Russell is the first book in the Pj Santini series. It is the type of book that grabs your attention and does not let go from start to finish. I loved, loved, loved the MC in this book. She is absolutely fantastic. I could picture her so clearly in my mind. It was like she was popping off the pages. More than once I found myself laughing at what was happening in the book. It was so entertaining all the way through. You never quite knew what the character would get up to next which made it exciting to read. This is also one of the only books I have read that it really felt like I was also getting to know the author at the same time. I got the impression that the author and this MC could have quite a bit in common and I have to say that idea made it even more fun to read. I am definitely very excited to see what happens in book 2!!!

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5) by Phoebe Alexander is another great addition to this already great series. I enjoy the stories Phoebe gives us of the swingers and the characters are familiar and loveable. The books can be read as standalones but I suggest you read them in order to understand the characters and how they got to where they are now. They each feature in all the books in one way or another.
Connie left her cheating husband and moved back to be with her sister, the fabulous Casey. Connie is not a swinger and not part of that lifestyle but everything is sexy, hot and definitely makes her curious. When she meets Luke at the club things definitely take a turn for the better but not before his life falls to pieces.

Broken Pieces by Judith B. Pinkard is a deeply emotional book that is based on true events. This book will leave you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what might happen. You will find yourself turning the pages quicker and quicker to see what is to come, to learn more about the characters in the pages. For me, the fact that this was based on true events just made it so much better. It really helped to conceptualise the whole story and made it feel as real as what it is. This is a new author for me and I loved the way she developed the story. Not only is the story a good one but I feel she did the story justice. A great read and one everyone should try.

Garrett by Madison Quinn is the second book in the dark water security series. This book can be read as a stand-alone and does not have to be read in order. This book is incredible. The first book in the series has been a strong start and this one just takes it all the next step. I loved Hope and Garrett. Their story seemed so real and easy to connect with. Everything hope had been through added a whole new level to the characters. Madison Quinn really knows how to take you, as the reader on a journey. This book was fast paced and intense. She knew when to hold back a little and when to push on full steam ahead. A brilliant read and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is my first book by this author. Her writing style is so easy to follow and get engrossed in. Her characters are loud and full of crazy antics that make me laugh. Plus that triangle of lust between her and those two men! Who to root for? I eagerly look forward to her next in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Taming the Troublemaker (Hills Of Texas #3) by Kadie Scott. I ABSOLUTELY loved this book!!!!!! This is the third book in the Hills of Texas Series and I think it was my favorite so far. Autry and Beth are amazing together…. Autry has the good ole cowboy reputation. When he gets tired of the same thing all of the time, he decides to give women a break. When his parents make him a “bet”, he knows that there is no way that he is losing that bet. That is until he see Beth and is now spending a lot of time with her and really getting to know her. This book is romantic and funny and will keep you wanting more and more. I truly hope that you dive right in and love it as much as I did!!!

Broken Pieces by Judith Pinkard is a story based on real life events. When stories are based on real events, I find myself more interested in the story as I can see the description more vividly in my mind’s eye. This story is an emotional roller coaster. There are so many choices we make in our life that may not affect us this minute but may in the near future and sometime in the far out future. This story reflects a journey of choices. I would read this book with a box of kleenex by you and read the story.

I loved everything about this book. The characters were so well written that I wanted to reach into the book, grab Stephen and not let him go. Sasha was just the perfect companion to him and together I thought they were the best comedic relief for a story that sometimes broke my heart. I instantly felt like I was part of this family and therefore I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen. This book had everything I want in a book, it made me laugh, it made me cry and it definitely made me bite my nails in anticipation. It’s the third book in the Fairy Tale Series and if the other books are half as good as this one, then I will devour them just as fast as I did this one.

After Hurricane Nina, Rand’s Resolution by Tamara Ferguson is the eighth book in the Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection. This is a cool collection of stories where each is written by a different author and tells a different story. This can be read as a standalone and you will not feel like you are missing key information. This book is about Rand. He has a reputation as a trust fund playboy. Now he is living in Bali and working for some covert work. Ciara has arrived and remembers Rand from their teen years. She cannot believe he has changed as much as she has heard. I like the characters of Rand and Ciara. Both are interesting and I like the military backgrounds of both. I have read this author before and like her storytelling ability and how the stories always have a good flow. This book was no different. Everything is not always an easy, cheesy rom-com but with an actual plot and substance to the characters and story. I will be looking for more from this author in the future.
Hell on heels is a different take (for me anyway) on the female P.I. story. It has a storyline that will keep you flipping the pages and it definitely kept me guessing. PJ is definitely a colorful character and I expect the rest of the series will be just as engrossing as this book. This has been compared to Evanovich which I haven’t read, but if this is an indicator then I think I found my new genre. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to next.

Don’t Let Me (Simplicit Duet Book 1) By Marie Skye. This book was everything I was looking for and so much more. I’ve read this author before so I knew I was in for a treat but wow it was incredible. The characters are to die for and with a storyline that had my eyes glued to its pages I was gone before I knew it. The author does a wonderful job of of writing a unique story that stands out from the rest. Huge fan of the writing style and character development. I’d like to say I have a favorite but that’s impossible. I will however say I’m waiting not so patiently for book 2. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it!

Gamble on a Cowboy by Melissa Keir and D’Ann Lindun. I really enjoyed both the stories, they each pulled at my heart and I loved the female characters, I just love strong female leads who are independent but open to possibilities. Each story had me hooked, I only wished to have more time with the characters. There’s plenty of heartwarming and steamy moments and characters to love. Each story may be shorter but they didn’t lack anything important for me. I still loved the characters and story. Each well written and paced nicely. Five star read in my opinion! You won’t regret picking this up!

Rafferty is the 2nd book in the fantastic Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. This book runs along the same timeline as Brody, the first book in the series. We are introduced to Rafferty and Lauren is the first book and by the snippets we got of their story, I knew that their book was going to be awesome. I was so right. I loved this book, so much. Raff and Lauren were childhood sweethearts but Lauren was left devastated when Rafferty walked out on her. 17 years later they meet again. Although 17 years have passed, both are still in love with each other and Raff plans to do everything possible to get the woman of his dreams back. Although still in love with Raff, Lauren can’t face her heart being broken again so does everything possible to keep Raff at bay but the man just isn’t taking no for an answer. This is a beautiful second chance romance that will have you gripped from the very first page (or if you are like me, from the previous book in the series!) The characters are very well written and as the story is written from both points of view, you get a deep look at what’s inside both of their heads. You can see the emotions and anguish that both are going through. Technically this book can be read as a standalone, but as the previous book in the series ‘Brody’ is also fantastic, I’d recommend that you read them both. And like me, I’m sure you will be excited to see what the author has in store for the other 2 DD boys.

This is hands down one of my all time favorite series! Each book is beautifully written. The characters are amazing. It’s always like coming home! The one thing I love is that yes it’s a series about swingers but the stories are spell bounding and emotional. It’s not all sex but there are some truly steamy sexy times.
Luke is in the worse loveless marriage. OMG every time his wife was in a scene I literally got all stabby! He’s a good friend of Cap’s and was invited to the club where he meets Casey Fontaine’s sister Connie. The attraction was instant but both people have major hurdles to overcome.
This book had so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. The blooming love between Luke and Connie was beautiful and the drama will have you on the edge of your seat. Phoebe Alexander is a beautiful writer who is the master of sucking you into the world she creates!

Hell On Heels is the first book in the PJ Santini Series written by Lynne Russell and it’s the first book that I have read by this author. This is the kind of book that grabs your attention from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have finished the last page. This is fast-paced and will have you turning pages to find out what going to happen next. There were times I laughed so much my kids wanted to know what I was reading…
PJ Santini is witty, intelligent, independent, and stubborn. She is also both a TV news reporter and private eye. PJ is the kind of woman that once she is assigned and assignment she is determined to find out the answers and truth of what happened. Her first assignment is to find Gerald Sigmund (Siggy), a sleezy investigative reporter who has vanished into thin air dead or alive. She’s also inherited his disgusting office that holds secrets that could cost her, her life. But she has no idea what that secret is, or who would kill her to get to it. All she knows is that there’s a bloody finger in the desk drawer, and it lost most of its value as evidence when she threw up all over it. I also loved her two men Johnny Renza and Tango Daly. Johnny Renza is darkly handsome and his the first boy P.J. ever loved. Now he’s a top-notch crime reporter who gets away with plenty because he still knows how to push her buttons. And Tango Daly her fiercely protective and mysterious, tanned, toned private detective boss, a martial artist with a para-legitimate past tucked lustily into seductive slacks and silk shirts. I really loved this story… Does PJ find Siggy? Does she give Johnny another chance at love or do they stay completive co-workers? And what does she do with Tango with their mind games and sparks that ignite when their around each other? I highly recommend this story and can’t wait to read book two in this series…. I really enjoyed reading Wolf by Jody Lynn Daniels. It is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed her writing style and it didn’t take me long at all to really get into the story! Maggie and Carson’s story was one that I really enjoyed following. I love the way the author really managed to get across how the characters were feeling especially Maggie, I felt like I was living through some of the story with her. I could feel the raw, painful emotions that the author poured into her. There were some moments in the story that were quite emotional and powerful and I have to admit I wasn’t expecting this at all. These painful parts were so beautifully written though and I could tell that they author had taken her time whilst writing them. I love that Carson wasn’t afraid to show his softer, emotional side also. These two characters were definitely connectable and relatable! I would definitely love to read the first two books in the series especially if they are as great to read and as well written as this one is!

Hell on Heels is the first book in the PJ Santini series.
It took me about the first quarter of the book to get into it. The writing style was challenging for me as it seems like there is an over abundance of detail to get through. Once I got into the groove of it though, it turned out to be entertaining. There are a lot of colorful characters and variety of personalities to keep things interesting. My personal favorite is Daly. I will also say that I wasn’t really connecting to the main character right away but she grew on me over time. Hell on Heels keeps up a good pace so there is no chance of getting bored with it.
All-in-all I’d say, despite my bumpy start with it, Hell on Heels turned out to be a good read.

This is not your average vampire story. There is romance and action that balance out nicely for a terrific read! The character are all fantastic and the story line flows smoothly.
Elizabeth is a strong woman, and I think she is as strong as she is because of her fierce protection of her daughter Annie. When she meets Alex and discovers what he is, she is taken aback and hesitant of keeping anything going with him, but the love she feels for him, gives her the courage to keep going.
Alex seems like every other vampire in every other novel, but this one is different. He has a choice to make. He can give up his new found love of Elizabeth and her daughter Annie and go live in Philadelphia with Christiana, a vampire commander from his past, or he can fight for what he wants for once in his long life.
The chemistry between the two main characters is beautiful. The secondary characters are just as interesting. I would love to read the story of Alex’s maker, Loren and his love interest Julia. The powers that Loren has are peculiar, as well as those of Julia, whom Loren has also changed, their story would be just as exciting to read.

I could not wait to jump into this story. I’ve always known I would love it when the time came for Hawk to tell his story and I was not disappointed…This was awesome, and Stella (Red), OMG I loved her and how perfect she was to go up against the quiet one.
This might be my favorite of the series so far..No wait I don’t think I can pick a favorite I’ve loved each and every one of them and the way all these characters play such large parts in all the books is something I love more than anything.
I highly recommend reading every one of these in order starting with the prequel which was a perfect start to this series.
This authors writing grabs you on the first page and simply doesn’t let go and she and this series hold a place on my favorite authors and series lists.
Can not wait for the next and don’t want this series to end!!

Silvio does it again! This addition to the series builds off of book one and beautifully expands the originally cast of characters. Some more suspense and intrigue coupled with fun new characters – another winner! This book can easily be read as a stand-alone but for most enjoyment and understanding I would recommend reading in series order. So much fun to read. Highly recommended!

If you want some fun, some mystery, a classic whodunit, and the amazing setting of Vegas – this book is for you. I truly loved every page of this book and while it is pure fiction it still somehow was relatable. I am so excited to see this is the beginning of a series and look forward to being introduced to additional characters in this world. Loved it!
I was truly unprepared for how much I would love this book. Full of mystery and suspense, the author absolutely hits this out of the park weaving a tale so real and so true that I just knew that it was really happening, that maybe it had already happened to someone I know. I can’t explain it well but I guess I became so invested, so engrossed in the story that I truly was transported into the pages. Traumatic, explosive, suspenseful, nail biting – what a fantastic thrill ride. Loved every single page.

It’s a fast paced suspense read about PJ who is a News reporter and PI.She’s independent but can be stubborn and when she has an assignment she will find the answers. Find out what happens next is this on the edge of your seat funny crime story.i highly recommend reading this book .I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
