Shield & Shade (Ascended Guardians Book 1) by Misty Hayes – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Shield & ShadeShield & Shade by Misty Hayes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I started this book and feel like I was dropped right smack in the middle of a new world with no preparation. From the beginning things were written with a sort of familiarity, like I as a reader should know what’s going on. Once I learned this was a spin-off it made much more sense. That didn’t hinder my reading though, I fell into the story pretty quickly. There is so much happening on every page. When I say action packed, I mean ACTION PACKED! I personally enjoyed it, enjoyed going with Zoey on her wild ride of finding the truth. Misty Hayes really writes beautifully, her descriptions make it so easy to picture every scene!

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Bound by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #2)Bound by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love second chance romance stories, they tend to hold so many more feelings. This one was no exception, and the basis of the story lumped on even more emotions that hit me right in the feels.
Kayla dealt with so much heartache, and loss, and the damaging relationship with Roy. She was strong and resilient, despite it all, and I love that in a female lead. Jaxon was… near perfect. He did everything right to get Kayla back into his life. And that ending! I was shocked. This is the second book I’ve read by Amy McKinley now, and I’ll definitely be back for more!

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance) (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance)Moonlit Kiss by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a hauntingly beautiful story of timeless love! I’ve always wanted to visit Italy, and Amy McKinley wrote about it with the same dreamy quality I’ve envisioned it having. I adored that aspect of this story alone, but the web she wove with Sophia and Giovanni and Gianna and Sergio was exquisite. I enjoyed the buildup in the beginning of figuring out what was happening, and the beautiful story that followed. Such a great read!

Courage of Us (Code of Honor Book 1) by Brooke May – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Courage of UsCourage of Us by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by Brooke May, and it certainly won’t be the last. This book was everything I hoped it would be from reading the blurb and more. So many feels!

Patience was the perfect name for her, because she truly was the epitome of patient. Life kept throwing her hardships and she kept pushing through until she found her way again. And Duke! Gahhh, I loved Duke. I wanted to throttle him for not going back to her sooner but he was so incredibly sweet. The chemistry between them was strong, and pure. I cried through parts and cheered in others. Perfection! If I could rate this book 10 stars I would!

BRINK OF DENIAL (SONS OF SINDICATO BOOK 2) by SONYA JESUS AND CAM JOHNS – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Brink of Denial (Sons of Sindicato #1)Brink of Denial by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fabulous! This book really just jumped right in. That beginning! Mila wanted a new life for herself, a life of her choosing. I could understand that, but I also get how heartbreaking her leaving was for Dane. He definitely wasn’t kind to her after all those years apart. Eleven years away is a long time, but the feelings and chemistry between Dane and Mila was intense!  Could Dane really take another chance with her, and trust her to stay by his side?  I loved this one even more than the last!

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart Book 1) by Melody Calder – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Sexy Drug (Losing My Heart #1)Sexy Drug by Melody Calder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first I’ve read by Melody Calder, and it didn’t disappoint! What a twisted world Katie lived in with a father like Carl. With her life in danger, Ramone is tasked with keeping her safe. He’s told not to touch, and expects it to be no issue because after all, Katie is just the spoiled princess daughter of the boss… right? It ends up being so so much more, and left me hanging! I’ll be back for the second book!

Elusive: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 5) by Via Mari – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Elusive (Billionaire Bodyguards #5)Elusive by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This may be my favorite from this series so far! I can’t express how much I loved Alexis, I admire independent, headstrong women. Even though she dealt with scars from a bad relationship who wouldn’t eventually fall for Sheldon? I think he was the perfect mix of hard and soft, especially with her. Like always Via Mari packed in the suspense and steam, making it another great read.

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss Book 1) by Carmen Richter – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss #1)My Lips Are Sealed by Carmen Richter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ll start off by saying I applaud Carmen Richter for how well she wrote about a lot of important topics. Young girls being pressured into things they aren’t ready for, coming out as gay, high-school drama. So many things!

For me personally the romance between Elijah and Zoe moved so quickly in the beginning it took a while for me to get into that aspect of the book. There were so many other things going on, the mystery with Brody and the drama with Paisley I kept reading. And I’m so glad I did!

Relentless: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 4) by Via Mari – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Relentless Billionaire BodyguardsRelentless Billionaire Bodyguards by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Whew! What a spicy read! It was steamy, but full of a plot that kept me turning pages to see everything unfold. I liked Layla from book 3, and was excited to be able to read her story. I love how brave and determined she was, really willing to risk it all. Dereck came off strong from the beginning, but he quickly grew on me. He helped Layla be able to drop her guard with him, and was determined to keep her safe. Overall I enjoyed this read!

Revelations (Separate Worlds Book 1) by Izzibella Beau – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Revelations (Separate Worlds Book 1)Revelations by Izzibella Beau
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve always loved a good paranormal romance, but haven’t picked one up in quite a while. Revelations brought me back to my teen years when these kinds of reads were my absolute favorite! I loved that you got to know more than one couple in this book. Though it seemed to focus mostly on Zach and Emily, and I loved the start to their story. It definitely left off on a cliffhanger, but I’ll be coming back to see what happens next for this group of friends.

In Plain Sight ( The Broken Bow Book 3) by Ashley A Quinn – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

In Plain Sight (Broken Bow Book #3)In Plain Sight by Ashley A Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

By the last page I was reading through tears. What a book! I love a second chance romance, and Thomas and Raynas story was so sweet but full of challenges. When Rayna finds Mason and calls Thomas for help I just knew it was going to be a wild ride. My heart hurt for poor Mason and everything he went through, but I loved every minute of reading about the three of them coming together to fight for him.

Wildfire ( The Broken Bow Book 2) by Ashley A Quinn – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Wildfire (The Broken Bow Book #2)Wildfire by Ashley A Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved it. I loved Tara, I loved Jace, I loved the mystery. Ashley A Quinn really knows how to pack a lot in one novel, in the best way! I was thoroughly invested from the beginning. The tragedy they each dealt with, the healing and learning to take that leap to love again. It was bittersweet but also so heartwarming. Then trying to piece together who was after Tara and why kept me flipping pages. Can’t wait to open the next in the series!

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Via Mari really jumps right into this story from the first page, and it did not disappoint! I was pleasantly surprised to find that I liked Damian from the very beginning. It was Bryanna I was wondering about. There was more than once I was thinking, “why would she do that?!” But as the story goes on you learn exactly why, and how strong she was for going through it all. Damian’s need to protect Bryanna quickly surpassed it just being for the job. Their romance was as sweet as it was steamy. I’ll definitely be coming back for more by Via Mari!

Twisted Throttle (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was definitely a twisted ride from beginning to end! A ride that keeps you guessing. I thought I had it all figured out but that ending swooped in and surprised me. Throttle and Gwen clicked, and clicked fast. Truly a whirlwind romance amongst so much chaos, so many battles. Throttle was faced with his past, and a new future he was picturing, in the most intense way, and Gwen held on to him. I absolutely loved their story!

Hawk's Cry (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #2)Hawk’s Cry by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a sucker for MC books. This one really touched me though, and I found myself blinking through tears more than once. Struggling with life is so relatable, and poor Eli was definitely struggling. I think a lot of people have a hard time being vulnerable and open with mental health, and I feel like it’s especially an issue amongst men. Feeling they need to be strong and resilient, unable or unwilling to communicate the hard inner dialogue. This story really encapsulated that. And I absolutely loved Liv and her continued fight through it all. Such a good read, I can’t wait to start the next Satan’s Devils story!

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Jaclyn DeTullio

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella did not disappoint! It may have been a quick read but I am impressed with how much Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns fit in this story. The blurb had me intrigued. Attorney involved in a murder? Attorney in love with someone in the Mafia? I started reading and between the steamy romance between Seth and Braelynn and the Mafia action I didn’t stop until The End.
