What I Wish I’d Known: For Writers by H.D. Thomson – Review by Jamie Burns

I have always had 3 dream careers- teaching, librarian, and author. I have been a teacher for 6 years, I graduated with a degree in library science and I am currently a school librarian. So, that leaves only one dream, becoming an author. When I saw this book, I knew that I NEEDED to read it. I was instantly drawn into the book by Louis L’Amour’s quote, “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on” I have been a big fan of his writing and knowing he said that has encouraged me. I have a journal of book ideas tucked on a shelf a work, and everything in me is screaming that I need to be writing more. I need to explore my passions more so that I can be successful at the craft that I dearly love. Each author offers golden nuggets of advice to readers. This book is perfect for someone who is just starting out, or anyone who wants some encouragement.
