This book was definitely not what I expected. It is a bit long since it’s three books, but overall very good! There’s romance and suspense, so something for everyone. Linda pulls you in with all the different emotion that Marcy goes through. Definitely recommend!
Master Botosoni by Sylvia BlackGoing into this book I wish I would of read the others. I know it says standalone but I feel like I would of benefited from reading the ones before it. However that being said this was an action packed paranormal Romance. I am a sucker for anything vamp related. We have Master Botonsoni and we are in the middle of a fight with rogue vamps. Who is helped along by Catina and her ability. I plan on starting this series from the start.

Though there was a bit of a slow start and multiple times that I wanted to jump through the pages and shake Margo, I got to the end and didn’t want the book to be over.
The traveling throughout was something to be in awe over. Experiencing Margo’s career highlights and how easily things can be taken away while realistically she is just trying to feel closer to the father she never got the chance to know. The family aspect, and lack there of, prior to working on repairing her relationship with her Aunt. Margo learns a lot about herself, her history and limits throughout this book.
There is a lot packed into this book that once you’re done and sit back to think about it, you realize just how much the book covered.
I have not read the first book of the series, but this worked great as a standalone. And I will now be definitely adding the other to my tbr list!

Master Botosoni: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black

Sylvia, Sylvia, Sylvia, just when I think you have reached the bar you go and reset it and then I have a new favourite book in this series making me feel disloyal as I love all the Masters. It is another titillating dark paranormal, fated mates, enemies to lovers, age-gap, vampire mafia romance tale.
I have been with this series from the beginning and Sylvia knows how to write an epic dark paranormal tale that you are unable to put down once you start. I am always instantly lost in the story and to the beauty of the harsh world that Sylvia created.
Master Botosoni is the explosive ninth book in this series. Masters of the Consulate is one of my favourite series and I was left anticipating the arrival of the next book. Just as well that fabulously dark and deliciously deadly Master Botosoni came along at the right time.
The master’s and fated ones join Master Botosoni as he enlists the help of a psychic to help them find what they need. Master Botosoni soon learns she is much more than he anticipated, and fate always gets her way.
I love that these men are fiercely loyal and will protect what is theirs no matter the cost.
This riveting fast paced tale is intense, full of suspense, danger, and is steaming hot. What is better than super sexy alpha vampires who are vicious and love fiercely, along with psychics, and a host of other paranormal beings. In a place where there is old world factions there is greed and revenge, secret agendas, politics and so much more.
Can the Masters get what they need before they are thrust into a major war and friends and allies turn to foes.
I wonder which Master comes next. I can’t wait.

Master Botosoni by Sylvia Black

Book 9 and this series just keeps getting better and better. While each story is able to be read as a standalone, I would recommend starting at the beginning to see the progression of the story and the battle that is being waged. We see the pureblood vampires are getting closer and closer to taking out the rogues as their journey continues all over Italy. They end up in Master Botosoni’s territory and as he goes looking for clues, he is pointed in the direction of Catina, a fortune teller with a complicated family life. The attraction between the vampire master and the innocent psychic is electric and they are both unable to fight the attraction. The author does a great job of making each story and romance feel fresh, while still bringing in characters from the previous novels to keep the storyline moving forward with the war between the purebloods and the rogues. I am definitely excited to see the next book and how this story ends in the future books!

Sasha is a great girl who, like many teen girls, is a little short on confidence. This book focuses on how Sasha can use her inner strength to become a better person. There are several short stories that cover everything from peer pressure, bullying, and accepting oneself.
What I loved about this book is that Sasha *is* a strong person. She loves science and she’s really smart. She has great friends who really care for her. She’s a caring person herself.
What I didn’t like so much about this book is that it was written to look like Sasha could only get these important attributes that she was struggling with from her friends. While friends are VERY important, they are not the only way that she could have grown from these experiences. There was little interaction with family, and they can be the strongest influence. I would have liked to seen a stronger family bond written about in this book. There was some, but I feel like a story about her mom, dad, grandma/grandpa, aunt/uncle could have made this story much better.
This would be a great gift idea for a young teen girl. The stories are very short (3-4 pages each) and there are some pictures included.

Master Botosoni is the vampire in charge of the Botosoni region and another of the Masters of the Consulate of pureblood vampires and he is on a mission to find the rogue vampires and shifters who have been wreaking havoc in the other Master’s regions and now they have shown themselves on his lands. He has history with these rogue factions which means he is more than happy to eradicate any that he sees, but first he has to find them and that is where he seeks out a woman who can do just that.
Catina is a young woman trying to break free from familial traditions, although it is more difficult than she imagines, but she is determined making her own way, however, when a dark vampire Master approaches her wanting her to aid him with her skills, she is terrified, but elated. As soon as she connects to destiny, she is shown the way to find the shifters, along with some words of caution, but it takes a lot out of her and ends up being taken back to the vampire’s mansion, but it goes against everything she believes.
When the rest of the Masters and their mates join Master Botosoni, he is determined to give them some news, and so he passes on what Catina has said, along with the updates from the other members of the team. All the while, Master Botosoni and Catina cannot deny their growing attraction and he when he makes the decision to make her his, he may have to wait as more information comes through and Catina is led to a situation where danger surrounds her, and drastic decisions have to be made.
With Master Botosoni fighting for his future, as well as the future of those around him, will Catina maintain her innocent nature, or will darkness consume her, and will the master’s finally be able to find and eliminate the rogues? This is yet another thrilling chase where nothing is black and white and danger haunts the shadows, loyalties are tested, and the rules of engagement are questioned in this dark romance with bite.

The Round Box by Lois Wickstrom

I always enjoy reading stories from this author. She always does a great job of writing in a way that is easy for young children to follow and enjoy. In this story we see Carrie is missing her grandmother and she just can’t find anything fun to do while she is feeling sad. She remembers that her Grandma left some boxes at the house and she goes exploring. I love how the author encourages children to use their imaginations in her stories and this one doesn’t disappoint. I think every child should have a box labeled FASCINATOR in their house. I will always recommend any book by this author; she writes in such a fun and imaginative voice that it’s always a joy to read.
Who ever said that Librarians were quiet and reserved, lied! Betsy has a strong love for books, and she knows her library quite well. While she is quiet, that only lasts long enough to get what she needs done. She has no time for romance and just wants to be left alone. She is really strong and independent and proves that in this story. Nash is grumpy, suffering from PTSD and weary of those around him. He is ugly according to his ex and not good enough for her. He does not want people to see him or care for him, he too has no desire to start a romance. While he truly is grumpy, seeing Betsy calms him. Not only that but he feels protective of her. Stop! No spoilers here! These two characters are perfect for this story. You can’t help falling for them. The author has once again impressed me with her writing style as well as her eye for detail. I loved listening to this story and look forward to reading and listening to more from her. This is a must read story.

Sasha is a young lady who loves the colour purple, and she is on a journey to self-discovery, with this collection of short stories, you will go through ups and downs along with Sasha as she finds out how to handle these emotions and work through them.
The themes range from being brave, self-acceptance, confidence, overcoming fear, handling pressure and growing your inner strength. They are colourful, creative and easily understood and suitable for all ages.

Pursuit into Darkness by Theresa Van Spankeren

I absolutely enjoyed reading the book. I had not read book 1, but I felt the author was able to recap book 1 without it feeling like it was being repetitive of book 1. I thought this was an interesting take on the vampire world and the author did a great job of making you feel like you are transported back in time to the 16th century England. This was a wonderful story full of friendships, romance, intrigue, and action. I thought that the author had a unique voice and the story was well written, with well-rounded characters and detailed descriptions. I definitely enjoyed seeing the relationship between Julie and Samuel progress and change as he works with her to prepare for a battle she isn’t ready for. Julie is an interesting protagonist and I enjoyed seeing how her character develops. I can’t wait to check out book 3 to see what happens next.

The Scent of Snow is part of the Winemakers Series and is a wonderfully written Historical Christmas Romance Novella that I absolutely loved reading. This was the perfect book to read as the weather has been cold and snowy here. I found myself lost in the pages and felt like I was apart of the story. I literally read this in one sitting because I couldn’t stop reading. Let me just say that this author is one of my all time favorites for Historical Romance. She does an amazing job of pulling you into a completely different era and she paints such a vivid picture I can see what she’s describing. This is a heartbreaking yet heartwarming story that had my emotions all over the place. Pedro and Anne show us how love and forgiveness can weather any storm. These are put to the test when a boy comes up missing and secrets are to be revealed. In fear of giving something away im stopping but will say I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to reading more from this amazing author.

This was a fast paced start to a dynamic series, filled with drama, intrigue, and lies. It was a quick read, but definitely will draw you into the story and leaves you wanting more. It gives us a taste of Riley and Cole’s first kiss and the dynamics behind their families. I love how the author brings you right to the edge and then it just stops, leaving you filled with needing to know what happens next. I think this was an extremely well written story that really hooks you into the story. Be prepared to want to immediately grab the next book!

Cute quick story! I understood Cray and could feel for his dilemma. He is a bully and thinks just because he can that means he should. Luckily for him he actually has great friends that he didn’t realize until an accident. The meaning in this book is easy to see. It makes a good story to read to and discuss the actions and consequences of certain behaviors with children.
The illustration in here is wonderful! I would recommend it on that alone but add in the adorable rhyming story and it’s a winner!

This is the 9th book in the Masters of the Consulate series. They can be read as a standalone however I personally suggest reading them from then beginning so high you can full understand the story and the fight between the vampires and the rogues. Even though we are 9 books in the story still feels fresh and new as we meet a different Master and learn about them and their area and of course find love when they least expect it.
In this story we meet Master Bostosoni and Catina.
They meet because Catina is a psychic and Bostosoni hopes she can help him and the other masters in the search for the rogues. What he doesn’t expect is the sudden overwhelming urge he has to protect her at all cost.
When a vision that she doesn’t disclose to Bostosoni comes true there are seconds left to save her. Will Catina want to follow the strict rules she has been forced to live by her entire life or will she choose a life of freedom and immortality with Bostosoni.
These book are amazing while you always have the background of the fight and war raging between the Masters, rougues, shifter and witches, you always have to romance element in the case of strong protective vampire and the woman he fells for. Their connection and the bond is so powerful that you can’t help but be captivated by their story and drawn into their romance.
I’m so excited to see what happens next.

It shows you the dynamics of Riley and her mom as well as with Cole, his brother and their parents. It shows that no matter what background you come from, all families have issues. This prequel has drawn me in and I will be reading the series.

I love this series so much! This was such a great addition and we get Millers story this time. This can be read as a standalone but you’ll want to go back if you start with this one as you’ll fall in love with everyone. I have so much to say but I also don’t want to ruin the story in anyway so I will just say this is a must read book!

I am completely hooked on this series. It just keeps getting better and better. I can’t believe we are 9 books in and there is still one more to go!! Bring it on I say!! If you haven’t read the other books of the series you could still read this book and I am sure you would love it BUT the experience is definitely enhanced by having the background knowledge from the other books of the series so just do yourself a huge favour and dive into the series right from the start. I don’t want to give too much away in terms of the storyline so I will just say that Catinas powerful visions will end up being key in helping Master Botosoni and the other masters track down the rouges and shifters etc and make steps towards finally bringing them down. I really loved Master B and Catina….Now bring on book 10!

A long, but, well worth it read. Emotional rollercoaster ahead! You will definitely get all the feels in this series. This is a series that needs to be read in order, and it’s really nice that they are all in one box set. perfect for when snowed in and you are looking for an escape. This romantic suspense /psychological thriller will keep you turning the pages.
Brad and Liam both offer her different things that Marcy seems to need in her life, but she can’t have them both, so who will she choose in the end?

Now I am not going to give much away when it comes to storyline just know you will be captivated from start to finish with every twist and turn that comes the readers way. Lucky for me my family are all old enough to feed themselves because they would have starved otherwise, I just didn’t want to put this down. This extremely talented and creative author definitely has a new fan in me.

This collection of stories is a fun and entertaining read. As Bella deals with the pain of her breakup she soon finds that she has a decision to make, will she let the pain and heartache consume her or will she take her future into her own hands? Each new man gives Bella a new adventure. It was nice to see Bella begin to grow and find herself as she goes through each relationship. I like that Bella is a strong woman who is trying to take back her life. Bella goes through a lot of different emotions with these men as she returns to the dating scene. These novellas move at a good pace and I was pulled into each new journey that Bella takes. The author does a nice jo of giving Bella new experience with each new man and I wonder what will find Bella next.

You had me at Faelands! I love reading fantasy fiction books. I found this one is part of a series, Faelands Series, and was immediately on board. I am new to the author and after finishing this fantastic book, I am a fan!
First off, the cover art is eye-catching and I think it works perfectly for this story. Secondly, the main character is a female named Lannahi who grows into her own and I feel is a real badass, so this checked off another item found on my favorite things to see in a fantasy fiction book.
I really enjoyed how the story began with a bit of drama leading up to the day Lannahi was dreading. I seriously felt as if her character has a good steady head on her shoulders, even if her lack of experience in most things has caused her to be a bit naive, which is understandable and relatable.
The author also did a fabulous job working on some of the other characters, including those that only played a small part. I felt as if you were getting to know them as real individuals, which helped you determine on your own if you liked or disliked them. I always love to see if an author can write such good deep content that you honestly hate some of the situations and characters in a story, just like in this book.
Overall, I think this book was well written, had a good pace and left things in a way that could continue this series for the long haul. I cannot wait to read more from this gifted author. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

This box set was so fun to read! The way the book was organized was really interesting! Each new book is basically a new chapter, and each chapter has breaks between different days and events. I loved how the main character’s story starts off with her getting betrayed, as many women understand, and then continues with her exploring the world of “dating” without commitment. Dating for fun. The book titles are hilarious too and really fit each man’s ego and personality. This is definitely a fun read and I would recommend it to anybody out there who loves a comeback story, romance, and spicy scenes.

Loved this story! Fantastic setup of the world! The book actually starts with a list of the rules this society goes by. In the rules, they talk about how to conquer land and the consequences if you fail in your attempt. Of course, in a perfect society, all of the rules are followed without any shenanigans. However, that’s not always how things turn out. A beautiful world created for an amazing main character to fight the norms and make herself and her way known to all. Read this book if you love strong women who fight for the right to be equal with everyone else. She’s strong, she’s determined, and she’s only trusting when she needs to be.

Portrait of Deception is the second book in the Southwest Suspense series by Kathryn Dodson. It is another suspenseful thriller with mystery, tension, danger, secrets & lies, agendas, well-developed interesting characters, action, adventure, and gripping developments.
Margo’s world comes crashing down, and her dreams crumble after she is drugged while in Italy. Her hopes of winning a life-changing competition are completely crushed when she wakes to find her hotel room has been trashed, leaving her with a reparation bill in the many tens-of-thousands- money she just doesn’t have…… AND she’s been ousted from the competition, with nowhere to go. She’s left with no choice but to take on a job she really didn’t want to even consider- one that will see her in close-quarters with a dangerous dictator.
So get set- things are about to take a dangerous turn. Will Margo manage to survive her ordeal? What secrets will she uncover? This story is well-worth the read to find out.
This is definitely my favourite of Ms. Dodson’s books, so far- and I can’t wait to see what she does next.
