Savage Start: A High School Bully Romance Prequel (Hidden Valley Elite Series) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Tori Mitton

Savage Start (Hidden Valley Elite #0.5)Savage Start by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Riley and her mom have been on the run for years. Bouncing from place to place. They finally settle in a fancy town. Full of wealthy people, and a beach. Riley sneaks into a mansion that has a party going on and steals a gold lighter. That’s where she runs into Cole. He wants to know more about the new mystery girl.
Cole and Damon are care takers for their mother. Their father is a lawyer always saying he’s out of town on business trips. Well not is all what it seems. There is a trigger warning at the end. I was not ready to stumble on that. Neither were the boys or their father.
This was a super quick read but so so good! I can’t wait to learn more about Riley and Cole and Damon. And what’s to come next!

This is book 2, we get more pov from this book. Book one is a king so savage so read that, then book 2. Kingston and Ava are really falling for each other, but she thinks she will be the downfall of them both. You find out what happened to Kingston and Oliver as kids and what a monster their father was. Ava gets confused in her feelings for King but she knows she needs him more now than ever, more than King will understand. Carson wants Ava to be declared dead so he can get her inheritance. But that doesn’t work out to Carson’s plan, nor Ava’s. Kingston maybe twisted in his ways of love and treatment of Ava but as in book one he will destroy everyone and everything for Ava. Omg couldn’t put this down!!

Hidden Mischief (Shattered Embrace #1)Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Quite the intriguing tale. Ashton and Zachary shared every bit of their story with us. I feel like I knew every little detail including the BDSM dom/sub sex thing. As a story, it kept me engaged and wanting to follow it. The whole BDSM isn’t my angle but if this is your genre, this would be a story worth going for. The whole gang enveloped Ashton like she was one of them. She is very strong. I was quite surprised to learn she was a retired person from that arena. It’s a steamy romance with really good characters, a good story and worth your time to purchase and read. Just the descriptions of Ashton alone will make you drop your jaw and have a new book boyfriend.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this series. There is something to be said for being able to read all the books in the series one right after another. This series has all the characters that you could possibly want and then some you didn’t even know you needed. I love when a series follows along with all the characters and then you get glimpses of those characters in other books. This has all the romance that you could possibly want in a series while keeping the integrity of the story line. Reading the whole series like this makes it hard to pick your favorite book within the book. You will find yourself being swept away with the words on the pages and unable to put the book down. This will make it a quick read, well as quick as reading 7 books can be. lol. When finished you will feel as if you have added new friends and family to your life. This is be a reread for me in the future because I feel that I will find things that I didn’t pick up on the first time. Blanket + Coffee + This series = a great afternoon.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book two to this series and I must tell you that if you are not a fan of violence, dark romance, dubcon, mature langue, sensitive content, adult situations, jealous/possessive themes, and the such then this book is NOT for you! If you can get passed that type of content, then check this dark romance out! This also can’t be read as a stand alone. You need to read the first book to fully understand where this one starts and is heading. So Ava is a prisoner. Kidnapped and trapped by Kingston for her brother’s debt (2.6 million). Instead of selling her to the highest bidder he has decided to keep her. She belongs to Kingston now and she rebels at almost every turn. Which makes him want to punish her and break her into submission. She craves his touch just as much as he wants to touch her, but the hate is clear in their eyes. He will have her break so he can put her back together again. All while she tries to win his heart so she can escape. Both falling but both don’t see the danger rushing towards them. This is a book about a villain and his captive. He always gets his way. But will he this time? Such a great story. I wasn’t prepared when I read the first one, but once I started this one I knew what kind of content to expect.

I was not prepared for this book at all. With that being said, it was wonderfully done!! If you are not a fan of violence, dark romance, dubcon, mature langue, sensitive content, adult situations, jealous/possessive themes, and the such then this book is NOT for you! If you can get passed that type on content then check this out! You might really enjoy it. This book is all about the villain getting what he wants. Which was a great twist really! Kingston is a bully. He gets what he wants or he takes it by force. He protects what is his. He’s a business man kingpin. Ava is a sweet little lamb. So naïve and pure. Ava’s brother unfortunately owes Kingston money. A LOT of money. 2.6 million to be exact! Due to this he has Ava kidnapped and he plans on selling her to highest bidder, if her brother doesn’t pay up. He wants to break her and have her submit to everything he wants, but she’s got a wild-fire streak. He can’t wait to snuff it out while he takes her to new places she’s never even dreamt of. This is just book one to the story and man oh man is it steamy! You can’t help but love AND hate these characters for various reasons. You will want book two asap after reading this one. Trust me! I grabbed them both and can’t wait to read more!!

Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Barbara Bohls

Resisting NatureResisting Nature by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great book that didn’t take much time to read. It is well paced and the story line doesn’t feel rushed. Things are explained and set up for future books. The way that the characters are written makes you feel like they could be your neighbor or your friend. Ok, I wish that I had friends like this but more because of the whole shifter element. You are instantly connected to the characters and who doesn’t root for a bad boy turned good guy. I loved the push and pull that happens with the characters because it is something that you could see actually happening. The pushing away to protect someone from the past, the pulling them closer because you just can’t stay away from them. I love the tenacity that is shown in this book. It was a quick read and there were things I was not expecting which made things even better. It is so hard to not say everything because I don’t want to give any spoilers. If you have a day that you can just spend in a book, let this be that book. I promise you wont be disappointed. I can’t wait for more.

Another winner in our book. I read this to my grandkids and they loved it. The theme is keeping the beach clean. Great colorful pictures. This time we have a lovely mermaid. Cray and his friends, along with the humans, help clean up the litter that has scattered after a windy day at the beach. A fun story full of rhymes with a neat rhythm. Cool characters. This is a fun learning book to add to family libraries for reading time.

This was a very interesting read for an MC story. Cutter is looking for his Little and thinks he’s found her in his sexy detective. An interesting relationship to follow. This was a fairly new trope for me. The premise of the story was well-written. Watching thse two work out their issues was worth it. If you enjoy MC and the Daddy dominant/submissive trope, this would be a good book to read.

The story is exciting and it’s a hit in my house. The pictures are colorful and well illustrated. These have fast become the faorites at storytime. This author is so creative. I enjoyed this book. The mystery was intense. It totally grabbed me right from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I liked the many perspective points of view of the team and the timeline jumps. It kept it fresh and exciting. So many villians and the loyal team members were trying to really help the boys. There is lots of action, drama and a touch of romance. The intrigue makes it feel a tad like Indiana Jones. This has been a really neat series to read. My grandson isn’t quite old enough to read it yet but I’ve got it on my bookshelf for him. Thank you for sharing this really entertaining adventure.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Let’s just start this review by saying this is an incredible book with a MMF relationship and it is a steamy one at that. This book is told in multiple POVs, which I feel adds to the overall connection that the reader has with the characters. I love being able to read what they are all thinking. It touches on the past of each character and that helps the reader understand why they are the way they are. Nothing wrong with how they are just what made them into who they are at the present time. All it takes is to answer an advertisement and that is what sets hem on the course of their romantic journey. There is a big surprise at the end that will divinely make your eyes get really big. This book was a very quick read for me as I couldn’t put it down because of the storyline and the steam. The dogs just add to the cuteness of the whole book. You will laugh, fan your face, look around to see if anyone can see what you’re reading, and you will get lost with the words on the pages until you finish this book.

A good story with plenty of steamy, spicy MMF romance. I felt like I got some glimpses of substance throughout the book but they were fast blinks. Told in multiple POV’s, the author tried to give us a view of how Weston, Callum and Petra settled into the new arrangements which was a good way to tell the story. I enjoyed the tales of how the dogs lived. It’s a good story if you’re a fan of this trope.

Oh my gosh was this set so funny! First let me say that if you are not a fan of sex scenes then this isn’t the set for you. BUT if you don’t mind them………., you have to read this book!! It is so good. This book is about a woman named Bella who is in her thirties. She’s been married for 12 years, but they have slowly drifted apart due to various reasons. Him more so than her, but now she’s starting all over! Her life is flipped upside down and now she has to navigate the dating world while healing from a failed marriage and trying to regain her self-confidence back. Her group of friends is awesome! They always banter back and forth, they are SO funny, and the advise! Man oh man! It’s awesome! I have a group of friends and we get together once a week for a ladies night and let me tell you, her friends ARE TOTALLY my friends!! Such a group of personalities! Bella joins a dating app and jumps back into the crazy dating scene. She goes on a few dates and they are all Unique in their own way. They each get their own nickname (LOL!). It gets a little messy here and there, but she is determined to have fun and see who’s out there. I CAN NOT wait to read all of these!!!! This set will have you literally laughing out loud. You won’t want to put it down and trust me, you will want to read the rest, just like me!!! Great funny read with steamy romance. Bella loves steamy romances and she’d love to recreate some of the scenes from some of those books! Wink wink!

This is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. I did not read the first book before this one and I felt like I didn’t miss anything that would make this book hard to understand. What I did feel was missing was more of the background story. I am sure that I would be given that in book one. So, it isn’t super important to read the first one but you might want to, to have a better understanding of what each of the characters are going through and have been through. This book has everything you could possibly think of for a book to have. It has intrigue, mystery, the evolution of characters, and an amazing plot line. Speaking of characters in this book, they will run you through the ringer. I have gone from loving them to hating them back to loving them. It felt like a viscous cycle but it is worth it in the end. I promise. If you have loved any vampire story, this is going to be a series that you will want to read. I am not normally a reader of paranormal, I will but it isn’t always my first choice. However, this book made it enjoyable to read and I will go and read the first one because this book takes a jump forward in the time line of the story. I have a feeling that I will feel even more connected to the characters by doing that. Maybe, I will even have a roller coaster of emotions again.

This book was a quick easy read for me. I couldn’t put it down. I love a good runaway bride story. However, I was not expecting to like Miller as much as I did. He has the bad guy persona down but is really a great guy. I love those types of characters. This book made me laugh because how can you not when a girl in a wedding dress jumps into some strangers car. This is book three of the series and I have not read the others but I am going to go and read them because I feel like it will give me more character depth. That being said you can pick this book up and read it, no problems. I bet you will want to go back and read the rest of the series as well because if this book is that good the others have to be just as good. If you are looking for something that is sweet, romantic, funny, has a bit of family drama, and is just a quick read. This book is for you.

This is the first book I have read by this author, however this is the second book of the series. I really had a time getting past the few chapters mostly because I couldn’t get into it. But as I continued to read I started to understand Leo’s story. I will tell you that I was drawn to this story because of the cover. Leo’s father refused to be king when he was alive, so does Leo follow in his father’s footsteps? I do feel like I should have book one and then book two so I will definitely be looking into the first one. I do suggest that you read it in order though because it might make connections easier to grasp. I am definitely looking forward to reading the first one and probably rereading this one before moving on to the next book.

This is a great way to start a series. I am all for the protective male lead and being in the military is a plus. This book is more than just a romance book, it has action, suspense, romance, twists and turns, and over all just a fast paced page turner. It draws you into the story and then keeps you hang on the words at the end of every page. I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it in one day. This book is one where you just snuggle into a comfy blanket and spend the day swept away by the words on the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series. This is the second book of the series. Sadly it’s also the last of the series. Kingston Winter is a savage beast who can not control his obsessiveness over a young Ava Blue. Ava is still trying to figure out why she feels the way she does with Kingston. In this book she is giving some freedom and some of it is taken away because she also struggles with letting someone have control over her. Can Kingston break her or Does Ava break Kingston?  I will tell you that Kingston is down right creep throughout the entire series, there are parts that make him less creepy but it doesn’t change too much. I loved the book, I hate having a job that requires me to put my book down otherwise it would have been finished sooner. I can not wait read another series from April.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

These short stories all play off of one another in some way or form. I love what he author shows a vast amount of knowledge with dealing with each short story. There is plenty of steam with each one, so there is no fear in that. These stories are all about shifters finding their mates and the route to get there isn’t always pretty. However, that said each story does take you on an adventure and packs lots of adult content. It was fun to read because the stories are short that it doesn’t allow for you to get bored or feel like something is dragging on. If anything the book leaves you wishing for one to two more chapters from each story. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the quick once that each story set and loved the amount of steam put into each of the stories. It is a great book if you can’t read a bunch because you could finish a story and put it down and then come back to read another. Sometimes life is busy and calls for something simple that you can come back to over and over again.

This is the second part of The Savage Duet and it does not disappoint. This is a dark romance and has so much steam that I was left fanning myself while reading. It is so, so, so good. If you haven’t read the first book in this duo, I highly suggest you do that and then come back to this one. This way you have an amazing understanding as to what is happening. There are many twists and turns in this book. The ending is one that is left to where the author could continue with the story line or leave it as is. I can only hope that we will get more because it was that good. The many decisions that are made by the characters in this book show growth and deep character development. I love when a bad boy can do good things but doesn’t loose his edge. I found myself actually somewhat liking a few characters that I haven’t liked at all. The ending is what did it for me. This book was masterfully written and will have you turning pages faster than you can read them. You will be sitting on the edge of your seat at some parts of the book and flushing at others. I highly recommend this quick paced read because it will have you riveted from the beginning.

Tony aka Cutter is a navy seal. Much to his grandmother’s dismay, he won’t settle down. He bounces from one relationship to another, until he meets Zarifah. Can Cutter actually settle down with this belly dancer? This book was so well written. Had me going every page!
