This was an amazing read!

It was captivating and fun to experience. I have really enjoyed the series so far. The characters are awesome together. It was action packed with all the feels of a romance. If you like vampires, werewolves and hell-spawns definitely read this series. CR Robertson really has a way of drawing you into the paranormal fantasy world!

I was very excited to read this book. I enjoyed book 1.

The storyline was good. I feel like there were some things that could’ve been written differently but only to better an already thought out plot. Overall I liked how the different groups didn’t necessarily mix or hate one another like they normally do in paranormal books. I liked that the female lead Delilah was strong and resilient. Christian the male lead’s character had some room for improvement but I still really enjoyed how his personality and attitude played in the story.

All I can say is jump in and hold on!!

This was a fun book to read. It had mystery, romance and a dash of suspense!
The story was easy to follow and well written. I especially enjoyed how the characters developed and grew right up until the end.
Vampires has always been made to be the villains and I loved how Sylvia used this angle to build her story on. We all love bad boys and what’s worse than a villain? How about a police officer that falls for said villain? Opposites attract and in this book that made for some epic chemistry!
Looking forward to reading book 2

Hawke (Men of Syn Book 1) by Anise Storm Reviewed by Jelize van der Walt

Hawke (Men of Syn, #1)Hawke by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first ever book I read by Anise.

I enjoyed her modern approach to BDSM with this story involving kinks and sex clubs.

The chemistry between Hawke and Char was super hot. She was a strong confident woman who was trying to discover herself more. He had to discover parts of himself too.

The plot was well planned and written. And I think that both their character’s development was good. The book also had some mystery to it. I did not see the twist towards the end.

I for one am looking forward to seeing more of Anise Storm’s work. .

Remember My Name (Remember My Name Series Book 1) by Laurencia Hoffman – Review by Jelize van der Walt

Remember My Name (Remember My Name #1)Remember My Name by Laurencia Hoffman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book took me a while to finish for various reasons.

It is mostly m/m. However there are no explicit scenes. It’s kind of like old movies the sex scenes fade to black.

I should also mention there are some triggers in this one.

I enjoyed being able to read from the perspective of others’ struggles of being different. And I also enjoyed the sentimental parts of the story as well.

With that being said I found that the main character’s relationship with all the others were a bit exhausting because of the constant back and forth.

Overall I think we might find out more in the next book. The story definitely ends on a cliffhanger.

Motherland: A Tom Grant Novel (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair Reviewed by Jelize van der Walt

Motherland: A Tom Grant NovelMotherland: A Tom Grant Novel by Samantha Adair
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I dove into this book because I love a good mafia type romance.

Motherland surprised me as it was the first one I read in the series. I was a bit lost in the beginning of the book but it connected main ideas with what I’m guessing the previous two books were about.

The characters had some steamy sessions but I wish their initial reunion would’ve happened a bit more exciting than it did. From what I can see  the development of both main characters was mostly good. However, speaking of characters, I didn’t like the villain from the get go. I may just have expected him not to be like every other sketchy guy who usually makes their appearance in these books.

I think this was a good ending to the Tom Grant series.

I went blind into this read. At first the forbidden aspect in the title didn’t interest me but the synopsis definitely hooked me. So glad I dived in!
The spin on this theme was well thought out. Enjoyed how the characters grew and adjusted to their circumstances. The chemistry between them was awesome. Overall the majority of the story had me on the edge of my seat with the author’s writing style.
I will definitely be looking out for the next book to find out how these amazing characters overcome more obstacles the future may hold.
