Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story By Jennifer L. Allen. This story was such a fun read. Tyler and Melanie has me completely hooked. They are so well written I forgot I was reading, they are completely relatable and you can’t help but connect with them. They form a friendship that slowly becomes more and it was so fun to watch. It’s a well written story that had me smiling most of the time. It’s a nice quick read. Characters you’ll love a a wonderful storyline make for an enjoyable afternoon escape to book land. I’m excited to see more from this author. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

5 Star Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen is a new adult/ romantic comedy that I simply couldn’t put down till I finished the last page . I was pretty much hooked from the beginning. I’ve read other books by this Author.I love that the two main characters are decade loving nerds. One is a fan of the 80’s while the other one is a fan of the 90’s. These two have big dreams while working away at the publishing company they work for. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. It’s a pretty quick read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen. This is a sweet, sexy romance and I loved it! Its the story of Tyler Scott and Melanie Katsaros. They have been eyeing each other at work but both are too afraid to say anything. Tyler is a ladies man and has a reputation of keeping a relationship going. He thinks maybe he hasn’t found the right woman yet. Tyler and Melanie are both Executive Assistants to editor’s of a men’s magazine. Tyler’s boss is horrible so Tyler hates his job, Melanie’s boss is amazing and she loves her job. They finally go on a date and sparks fly. They both have so much fun together even though there is an age difference of a decade. He’s from the 90’s she’s from the 80s so they love to argue about which decade has better music, clothes etc. They go slow and build a friendship and then it turns into more. I LOVED this story! I really enjoy this author’s wonderful stories, they are so sweet and as the title says irresistible! She writes wonderful contemporary romance stories that are engaging from the start and with characters I always fall in love in love with straight away. I loved Tyler! I liked that he was able to admit his faults when it came to relationships, and I loved that he was obsessed with the 90’s! Totally my era for growing up! Melanie was just adorable, she really was! I loved her naivety and shyness when it came to even looking in Tyler’s direction and I admired her attitude when it came to the job that she absolutely loves! I could feel the connection between Tyler and Melanie; it wasn’t that all consuming passion in some stories but more of a gentle, slow burn – it was perfect for the two of them! For me I thought that they were just perfect for each other and I was rooting for them the whole way through. Simply Irresistible was a super sweet read and one that I highly recommend! I can’t wait to read more from this author again in the future!

Simply Irresistible A Totally Sweet Love Story written by Jennifer L. Allen is the second book that I have read by this author. The characters are well written and play off each other so well with their decade music and movies. I just love the little quirks. The plot is awesome and the scenery is great especially the way the author described NYC. Melanie Katsaros is socially awkward but she is also an executive assistant for a women’s fashion magazine she loves her job and her boss but, she has aspiring dreams she just has to get the nerve up to talk to her boss about such dreams. Tyler Scott works as an executive assistant to the editor of a men’s magazine and he hates his job. His boss is not a pleasant man. But Tyler has grander aspirations, this is just a stepping stone. Tyler doesn’t have any trouble finding women, it’s staying with them that is his problem. He can finally admit to himself that he self-sabotages his relationships. Maybe he just hasn’t found the right woman yet. He first saw the beautiful woman with the big green eyes in the elevator at work. He is instantly intrigued and is determined to find a way to get her to go out with him. She seen him before in her office building and he was totally awesome to look at and his suits cling to him, he has a hot bod, too. And it’s another missed opportunity to see if he wants to do lunch. Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L Allen is exactly that a sweet romance story that makes you feel good. This story was fun and made me laugh as well, it is a slow burn tale that was set at just the right pace. This is one of my favorites by Jennifer and the characters are lovable but strong. It is a heartwarming romance and I enjoyed watching the relationship grow. This is a quick and easy read the geeky characters are very realistic and relatable.
Melanie has always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer and is working in a magazine that will hopefully get her there. Tyler work for the same company but in another branch and hates his job. Tyler finally gathers the courage to ask her out but things don’t go as planned.
Will they find their HEA and make their dreams come true or will their love of different era’s keep them apart ? I highly recommend this book.

This book was made for me. My 80’s loving heart couldn’t read it fast enough. It read like a beloved John Hughes montage. Allen did a wonderful job developing these characters and the plot line. It was fun and witty and a quick read. I was engaged and truly enjoyed every page. Loved it!

This story is told in dual POV with banter and well defined characters. The story moves at a great pace and kept me engaged from beginning to end.
This is a wonderful tale that I will be recommending to an older friends’ bookclub.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen as fun sweet read that had me hooked.
This book was a perfect slow lazy summer read that was relaxing, entertaining and funny. It was well written, detail and has this nice cheesy tone that you can’t help but get it pulled into.
I liked that it was told in dual POV, so we got the funess from both sides. That added such a nice element that I couldn’t even pick a favourite POV. Both MC’s are strong and well developed. I loved their interactions and banter. It was natural, engaging, and it had this nice realistic growth that you couldn’t help but smile at. This book really got me in the warm and fuzzy feels. On a whole this read has many familiar elements as any romcom, but also has this freshness that hooks you and blows the normal cliché’s out of the water.
Overall this book is worth your time, energy and feels. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will put a smile on your face, and leave you wanting more.

This book is perfect! The title not only fits each main Character but it fits them together. They are Simply Irresistible! Each their love of 80’s/90’s movies and music that sparks more than One heated debate. I have so many highlighted passages it’s crazy! Here is one example:
Tyler is trying to date Melanie exclusive and he says this “Wanna feel my shirt? It’s made of boyfriend material 🙂 “
ha ha ha I chuckled at this so hard. This is just the tip of the iceberg! There are so many more cute passages either said by Tyler or Melanie. I don’t even want to mention what they say when texting each other. Again..so many highlighted passages.
This is a first time author for me. I loved her creative ideas in this book. The story flowed so easily and i was quickly turning pages to see what was going to be said next. The characters were fun and wildly imaginative. Even the secondary characters were flirty and heartwarming. This is a wonderful feel good story that had me smiling and chuckling while reading. It will be a great re-read for when I want that sweet romance.

Such a cute book with loveable, quirky characters. I adore Tyler and Melanie. I would definitely visit the other characters in their own stories. Quick and Easy to read. As a 30-something, I loved all the references to the pop culture of my youth. Perfect light reading for a lazy afternoon. Solid work. Three stars.

I really loved this book! Two closet decade loving “nerds” meet and it all goes from there. I will say it read pretty fast and that was a sign of a great book. I loved how similar yet different these two were and how well they just meshed. Melanie, loved her. We’ve all been too nervous in certain situations but going to your boss with something so near and dear to her heart, I loved how that played out. And don’t forget Tyler, and his jerk of a boss.
This is a must read, I really enjoyed this and got some laughs too.

What a brilliant introduction to this new author for me. This was such a feel-good read that is heartwarming, sweet, lovable & romantic from start to finish. I was hooked with this read from beginning to end and it was made even better by the characters that Jennifer L. Allen has created. I absolutely loved following their journeys in this read they were both lovable, relatable and you felt as though you were there alongside them with their story. I loved reading about their developing relationship and their connection that grew over, through it all you couldn’t help but wish they would get a HEA.
I can’t wait to see what else this author brings, I know I will definitely be reading more from her with future reads. But until then, I highly recommend this romance read!

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story was my first read by Jennifer L. Allen. It is a super sweet, slow burn, contemporary/friends to lovers romance- with humour, emotion, and fun. Tyler works as an executive assistant for the editor of a men’s magazine. He really hates his job- and his boss is quite a dislikeable person. Tyler has dreams, his ambition is to use this experience to propel him to greater things. He is quite popular with the ladies, but so far has been unlucky in love. He notices a beautiful woman at work, drawn to her gorgeous green eyes- and had been keeping a look out for her ever since. He decides he will need to find a way to get her to go out with him. Melanie works for the same publisher, as the executive assistant for the women’s fashion magazine located in the same building as Tyler. She’s noticed him several times now and is quite intrigued by him. But she’s a little shy and awkward when it comes to social interactions, she can’t even bring herself to even look at him- so she’s going to have to pull up her big girl panties and pluck up the nerve to speak to him. She also has big dreams and can’t wait to put her ideas to work. Melanie loves the 80’s and Tyler is a 90’s guy. Their friendship builds and slowly more develops. What does the future hold for these two? Will they be drawn together in the end, or pushed apart? Will they see their dreams to fruition- or will their dreams be ripped apart? This was a quick and easy read with a great pace and a smooth flow. The characters were very realistic, which made them quite relatable and believable. The story is sweet and touching. Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen was a fun 5 star read.
Melanie and Tyler work in the same building, they have seen each other several times on the elevator. Tyler finally works up the nerve to ask Melanie to lunch, where they quickly learn they were decade geeks, Melanie the 80’s and Tyler the 90’s.
They both have taken their current jobs, executive assistants as stepping stones to what they really want to do. Tyler does most of the work for his boss and hates him. Melanie designs her own clothes but is too afraid to tell her boss they are her designs.
As they go on more dates, they decide to become exclusive. When Tyler takes Melanie to meet his sister and her husband, she is surprised to see who is brother-in-law is. Wow, didn’t see that coming.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had so many LOL moments. I loved the sassiness between them. Neither of them were really looking for love but they were meant to be and made it work so well. I really enjoyed the epilogue and I look forward to reading more from Jennifer L. Allen.

Simply Irresistible is the first time I have read anything from Jennifer L. Allen, but I can promise you that it will not be my last experience doing so. I must start with that gorgeous and eye catching cover that graces the book. I probably didn’t even need to read the blurb to know that I needed to find out what the story behind the beautiful cover was like. I am so glad that I jumped right in and can only say that I wish I had found Jennifer L. Allen sooner. I loved that this book incorporated music, something that I love just as dearly as book so this was like having the best of both worlds at my fingertips. I found myself jamming to the 80’s and 90’s for several days after I had finished this book.
Melanie and Tyler are fabulous to read. Their love story is a slow burn that is built on so much more than the first physical attraction they both felt for each other. It is built on support, trust, friendship and so much more that they slowly build together in a fun and sweet way. This book makes romance look sweet and fun again, something that I feel we all tend to get a bit jaded in from time to time. It is nice when you stumble upon something believable and sweet like Melanie and Tyler’s story to jump-start your faith in love and friendship once again. I can’t wait to get my hands on whatever else is available from Jennifer L. Allen while I await the next new release!

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love Story by Jennifer L. Allen is a new adult/ romantic comedy. I didn’t know what to expect when I started this book but that didn’t matter because it would have met and exceeded any expectations I had. This book was so enjoyable to read.
Tyler Smith is not someone you would say has trouble with women. The only trouble he has is keeping them but he can admit to himself that’s mostly his fault. Then he sees the green eyed girl on the elevator and he’s intrigued.
Melanie has seen Tyler before. After all, they work in the same building. Melanie is not good with social situations and anytime she sees him she can’t make herself look at him let alone talk to him. Finally they meet officially and Tyler gets the date he was looking for. The only thing that might tear them apart is their love for different decades. Maybe what they say is true – opposites attract.
This story was so sweet and fun. The book leads up to these two meeting and spending time together but there is an instant comfortableness that the characters feel with each other that really added to the story. This was such a good book, I couldn’t put it down.

Simply Irresistible: A Totally Sweet Love story by Jennifer L Allen is exactly what the title says – a totally sweet love story that will pick you up when you feel down and makes you feel good! I have read couple of other books by the writer which I liked very much so I knew when I picked up Simply Irresistible that I would spend couple of fun hours with Melanie and Tyler who are THE couple of the story. I loved how the writer threw together two nerdy professionals – a 80ies fan and a 90ies fan and who have big dreams while plugging away at the same publishing company! They have ambitions and they also have what backs these ambitions up! Add to this all the great New York City and their different backgrounds and you get a fun story where you laugh a lot and suddenly realize that you have fallen in love! So come along and join their journey!

It is a book that I found when reading I frequently had a smile on my face, laughing out loud, or saying “Aww.” It is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time. I loved reading about the characters of Melanie and Tyler. They are both young and have dreams other than the current jobs that they are in. They soon find that while they may love different decades of music and entertainment, they also have things in common. There are feelings and emotions between them. Somewhere along the way, they find themselves falling in love. When their dreams get closer to reality what will happen if one of those dreams doesn’t come true? What does the future hold for Melanie and Tyler? Read this book to find out. This is a well-written story that kept my interest from beginning to end. I also enjoyed reading about those who are helpful to Melanie and Tyler and interact with them. They got married in 2008, and live their happily ever after just outside of Charleston with their fur-kid. When she’s not reading or writing, she works as a behavioral therapist, and is also a graduate student, pursuing a Master Degree in Psychology as well as a Graduate Certificate in Behavior Intervention in Autism. She enjoys amateur photography, traveling, and music…it’s a bonus when she can combine all three. Jennifer is also a breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 2017 and declared cancer-free in 2018. She independently published her debut novel, Our Moon (JACT 1), in June 2015.

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen grabbed me when I read the synopsis and it was so much more than I was expecting. I really feel almost like I’m at a loss for an adequate description for how much their story effected me.
I personally never had to deal with the issues Jessica dealt with in regards to infertility, but that consuming desire to become a mother is something I totally understood and could relate with that.
This was an emotional story to read, and I cried more times then I want to admit, but I so loved this book and everyone in it. If you can handle the sensitive subject, I would highly recommend you read it.

I just finished reading Say something by Jennifer L. Allen.
I feel like I have to be honest here – I can get overly critical of romance novels, I don’t know why but I find that it’s easy to make them too mushy or unrealistic.
This book took my breath away! It has such depth and it pulls you in right from the beginning.
From page 1 I was invested! And I got pulled further down this delightful bunny hole, with every page!
It had romance, heartache, friendship, complicated family history, old times and new beginnings and I loved it all!
I would love to read more books from this author – including a book about each one of the characters we got to know in this one. I’ll be going on the hunt for more of her books.
This book was unbelievably well written – in every sense of the word.
Pick this book up today – you’ll regret it if you don’t!

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen is a touching love story dealing with tough issues. Jessie and Danny have known each other since childhood, have been high school and college sweethearts as well as man and wife. Things didn’t work out as planned and now they are divorced and on separate paths. Jessie is headed home to start fresh and rebuild the strained relationships she has with her family. Will she be able to start anew or will the past continue to hold onto her? This was the first book I have read by this author and I don’t see it as being the last one. I’m hoping there will be more stories for Jessie’s siblings and possibly Danny’s brother. The secondary characters were exemplary and really fleshed out the story. I loved this book from the first page to the very end and would recommend it to anyone.

Jennifer L. Allen is a new author for me, but after experiencing her read Say Something – she for sure will become one of my go-to authors. This book was everything and more, it was emotional it had you sad at times it was raw & real it also had you in awe and gave you the heartwarming and happy emotions. This is a book I couldn’t put down, I loved every single minute of it – I didn’t want it to end and just wanted more story to be had! It is also a story a that once you finish, it sticks in my mind just that little bit longer for you to really think about and understand more.
I loved each character in their own way and both of them deserved their HEA, whether that was together or separated, but was this their second chance? This author has created an amazing story plot, but also two incredible main characters and secondary characters just make this read even better! This was written effortlessly and beautifully and flowed from chapter to chapter, I cannot fault any part of this story.
This is a read to be experienced by all, I highly recommend this read. Don’t miss it!

I am a huge sucker for a second chance romance I mean why wouldn’t I be there is something magical about reading a novel where two people lose there way with one another or thing’s just work out the way they thought it would and then later on in life find each other again beautiful. This story weezer took me on an amazing emotional journey one that I didn’t want to end! Once you indulge in this novel you will be left wanting more from this author I certainly have I’m actually waiting on the edge of my seat!! Another reason why I absolutely loved this storyline is because it covered topics that some people can relate too and real life problems the author done a brilliant job writing about sensitive topics. It really hits home how certain life issues can effect someone/relationships. I really was hooked to this novel I mean I just couldn’t pull myself brilliant brilliant BRILLIANT!

How many characters or even people in real life actually say:
“I never thought I would return to the town I grew up in”
“I wanted to leave there so fast after graduation”
“I always imagined bigger and better things for myself.”
It seems like many second chance romance stories start with this same ideal. The main character is coming home after trying to live life somewhere else, usually a big city. Say Something starts out that way but quickly turns into something more! Not just one main character is returning to the small hometown they grew up in, but both of them are! Danny and Jess are high school sweethearts who grew up together, got married, moved away, divorced, and returned home to the small town that brought them together. Where family means everything. Where love always win.

I love these characters so much. Their heartaches, their frustration, their growing up moments.
“If there was one thing I had learned over the years, it was that one of the most crucial parts of adulthood was recognizing and then admitting when you needed help.”
This author and book is new to me so I cannot wait to read more from this author. I highly recommend this story.

A great read about second chances. Four years ago, Jess and Danny got a divorce after their struggles to have a baby led to disaster. Returning to where it all happened for a new job, she tries to concentrate on the future instead of the past. But life makes things difficult when she discovers that he has returned. She is even more surprised to bump into him and all the feelings rear their heads. Can they resolve the issues of the past for a chance at a happy future together? A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Jess struggling with her feelings but still standing up for herself or Danny trying his best Great cast of supporting characters like the fun sister Melissa or Mom supportive and kind. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the sense of nature with Oak River and its tall trees and green spaces as fresh and tranquillity. Or the flowers in the memories with their fresh scents and bold and beautiful colours so vivid its as if you’re actually there. The flashbacks into the past worked well to display what happened and didn’t disrupt from te narrative of the present with the italics used to differentiate the memories from the present day. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

The first thing I’ll say about Say Something by Jennifer L Allen is please make sure you have plenty of tissues with you when you read this. I don’t know if I was overly emotional at the time of reading but I cried so much at many points throughout this book. This is a beautiful second chance romance story that shows that true love never dies. Danny and Jess were school sweethearts who got married once they had graduated from college. They had the perfect life together until they tried to start a family. Jess was devastated when they realised that she couldn’t have children and she closed down and pushed Danny away, asking for a divorce. 4 years later and by some twist of fate both have moved back home to their original hometown beside their parents at the same time. It’s obvious that both are still deeply in love with one another. This is a wonderful story of they try to overcome all this issues that ended their marriage. Jess still feels that she has failed as a woman and has never come to terms with her infertility. This story will pull at your heartstrings so much. It is so well written and deals with a difficult storyline in a sensitive manner. I had never read anything by this author before this and if this book is anything to go by then I’ll definitely be reading more.
