The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price by C. L. Schneider – Review by Jonell Collins

Magic-Price (The Crown of Stones, #1)Magic-Price by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a wonderful book! It has a good solid story, great plot, the dialogue was smooth and flowing. C. L. Schneider has written a winner with The Crown of Stones: Magic Price. Ian Troy is unforgettable as are all the well-crafted players in this great book. It gets a little steamy in places but even with all that this book hits my perfect list. Although this is a fantasy it doesn’t feel like one. I can’t wait to read the next one, however I should probably clean my house first because I couldn’t put this one down.

Higher Elevation Series: Books 1-3 by Renee Regent – Review by Jonell Collins

Higher Elevation Series : Books 1-3Higher Elevation Series Books 1-3 by Renee Regent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In the Higher Elevation Series Box Set, by Renee Regent we have three delightful stories. Not only are they a delight to read they are each one very different. Unexplained, Untouched, and Undeniable are all three easy to read, they have strong characters that Ms. Regent has described so well that they are unforgettable, with plenty of action, suspense and mystery. In Unexplained there is plenty of page turning suspense. My personal favorite was Untouched. This was a story in a story. When you read this one listen for the deeper story. In Undeniable, well who can resist a story about hope and second chances. Of course, there is romance too and quite steamy in a few spots. Good solid stories that were a pleasure to read.

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3) by C A King – Review by Jonell Collins

Hitting The High Note (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 3)Hitting The High Note by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The third of the Four Horseman Novels, Hitting the High Notes was every bit as spellbinding as the first two stories in the series. Action packed, with suspense and several little surprises. Our hero in this story is Uriel. He is quite a bit different than his siblings but every bit as lethal. Our heroine is quite a surprise. C.A. King gives us a bit of mystery in this one which makes the story even more riveting. A light romance, easy to read, and well worth your time.

Drawing Strength From Words (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 2) by C.A. King – Review by Jonell Collins

Drawing Strength From Words (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 2)Drawing Strength From Words by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second of the Four Horseman novels and I find myself anxiously anticipating the next two. In this quick little romance poor Ryder never seems to catch a break. One mess after another. He just can’t keep it together. Then the beautiful Gabrielle walks into his life. Will he make a mess of this too? Gabrielle, beautiful, strong and coolly intelligent. Will she take a second look at this poor mess of a guy? Everything is not as it seems, and the mysterious Dante complicates matters immensely. You will need to pick this little novel up and give it a quick read. In Drawing Strength From Words, C. A. King gives us strong characters and a unique little adventure.

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan Book 1) by Paige L. Christie – Review by Jonell Collins

Draigon Weather (The Legacies of Arnan, #1)Draigon Weather by Paige L. Christie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just off the top of my head I have to say this has been the best book I have read in quite a while. If I could give it ten stars I would. In Draigon Weather, Paige L. Christie has given us a marvelous cast of characters. The main characters, Leiel Sower and Cleod Woodcutter, were so carefully crafted that you know them. You know what motivates them and what they aspire to. They quickly grab your imagination. All the supporting characters in this excellent story are just as well crafted. The world that Christie has created for her characters is so well suited for them and has been so well described you feel like you are almost there. You can feel the heat drifting across the land. This is a book that will quickly grab your imagination and keep you reading long after the moon has crossed the sky. A new direction in Dragonlore. This is a book you will not regret reading.

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review by Jonell Collins

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Journeys Through Space Time, by James Talisman, was an interesting journey. It is a thinking book. I found I had to read it in small installments. Or maybe I just think too much. I felt a need to think about some of the things in the story. Many actors on this stage and many acts. I feel the need to read it again because I get the feeling when I come to the end that I have missed something. Most stories when you get to the end you expect them to be all tied up in a bow. Not this one. It leaves you thinking long after you’ve read the last page. I hope this author is well on his way to many more good stories.

Pieces Of A Lie by Rowena Holloway – Review by Jonell Collins

Pieces of a LiePieces of a Lie by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again with Pieces of A Lie, Rowena Holloway gives us a story that gives us an opportunity for some inner reflection. At the center of it is her relationship with her parents. Sometimes in ways we cannot recognize our relationships shape us. Our heroine in this story is Mina, and she is one tough cookie. She has built a wall so high that no one is going to get to her heart. Our hero Linc is so bound up in his own feelings of shame and inadequacy he almost misses his cue. This was a delightful little romance wrapped up in suspense and intrigue. A very pleasant little romp until you get to the end……it’s a “can’t put it down” after that.

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Jonell Collins

Flower Shields (A Four Horsemen Novel Book 1)Flower Shields by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flower Shields by C. A. King is an interesting introduction. Our heroine in this story, Tara, seems destined for anonymity. Such a plain mousey young lady doesn’t seem to make for an interesting tale. But in all good stories there is always more than meets the eye. Someone finds her very interesting. By the time our hero arrives on the scene I was quite caught up in the story. The introduction, Flower Shields, to The Four Horseman novels has been intriguing to say the least. I am certainly on board for the next one.

Not Fade Away (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Jonell Collins

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s difficult to say what I like best about this book. It resonated with me because our hero, Rafe, in this story is dealing with a real life situation as best he can. It’s a situation that I myself am experiencing at this time . It’s difficult emotionally to care for an aging parent and it was quite refreshing to see this addressed in a good science fiction story. I could identify with him and it made the story comforting and made my own burden seem somewhat lighter. In Not Fade Away, once again Donna S. Frelick gives us a strong hero and heroine. Charlie is very confident and sure of herself. She, like all good caregivers, knows there’s more than one patient. It was such a good story I’m pretty sure I will be reading it again.

All That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway – Review by Jonell Collins

All That's Left UnsaidAll That’s Left Unsaid by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anyone that has ever had a struggle communicating with a parent will enjoy Rowena Holloway’s story, All That’s Left Unsaid. There is nothing more frustrating than to speak the same language as another and find out…..you don’t speak the same language. Harriet is not only confused herself, but she is quite confusing in this story. You don’t know whether to feel sorry for her or bark at her. In the end it’s her stubbornness that becomes her most endearing trait. An intriguing mystery that moves along at a brisk little pace. Near the end, I couldn’t put it down. I had to know.

Ice Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria Book 1) by Kay L Moody – Review by Jonell Collins

Ice Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria 1)Ice Crown by Kay L Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I liked Talise from the beginning. Vulnerable, but strong. Afraid but determined. As we begin with her on this journey, it doesn’t take you very long to see that Ice Crown by Kay L. Moody, is going to be a journey well worth the taking. The characters are developed enough to suck you into the story, but you get the feeling that there is so much more waiting to be discovered. I no longer throw fits over the books I read, mostly, but this incredible little story ended way sooner than I wanted it to. It has whetted my appetite and I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

The FloodThe Flood by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Just Wow! The Flood by Meghan O’Flynn was an excellent little story. Tension and suspense all the way through. Honestly. It was difficult to put this book down. Chapter after chapter new situations and revelations. Ever have a day when you know something is not right, but so many things are wrong you can’t pinpoint what’s wrong. Yeah, it’s like that. It’s a bumpy ride as we hang with Victoria while she figures out what is going on and what she can do about it.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Jonell Collins

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just can’t decide which of these books is my favorite. Trouble in Mind, Unchained Memory, now this one! I think I know but then I don’t. This book was such a good book. Suspense from start to finish. Rayna and Sam are such focused and strong characters it’s almost impossible to see this ever working out. The perfect blend of Rayna and Sam’s story with the reappearance of characters we’ve already been introduced to makes this story hard to put down. You won’t be sorry you read this one.

Tails Always WinsTails Always Wins by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a delightful story! A wonderful quick read. An introduction to what, I am hoping will be a journey of many books. Our introduction to Tails and Brodie leaves you wanting more. Love without all the graphics makes this a perfect romance. A very fast paced book. Tails has it all together, and Brodie is just trying to figure it out. I am anxious to read more of this series because it appears to be the kind of narrative that will only get better and better. This book will quench your thirst for a few hours of delight.

Trouble in Mind (Interstellar Rescue, #2)Trouble in Mind by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! This was a rip-roaring good book. The main characters Alana and Gabriel are very strong, confident and oh so memorable. Donna S. Frelick in Trouble in Mind, once again introduces us to characters that are so forceful and colorful that you do not forget them. That’s a very good thing because we meet them again. Lots of action, lots of suspense. This is the second book in this series, and I believe I am hooked. An unforgettable love story is interwoven with the deeper mystery. If you are looking for something to keep you up all night, this is the one for you!

I love a good story. Unchained Memory by Donna S. Frelick is certainly that and more. She has created characters that all of us can easily identify with and trust me, Asia and Ethan are people you will not forget and won’t want to forget. You can get so caught up with these characters that you find yourself talking to them. Intrigue and suspense abound and if you like a good hot and steamy story this is one that will satisfy. All I can say is bring on the next one in this series. Can’t wait.
