Love Comes In The Mourning by Erin Bevan – Review by Liz Vrchota

Love Comes in the MourningLove Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Erin Bevan really hit the nail on the head with this latest novel that I read by her, Love Comes in The Mourning. I must say this is quite the emotional roller coaster of a read that will keep you on the verge of tears, if not ugly crying, throughout most of the book. The couple we meet, Lesley and John both have pasts that would make anyone wanna give up on love but together they will get a chance to rekindle love and try to find happiness once again. Will it be with each other? Can they heal enough from the pasts they have to be able to love again? These two were so relatable and realistic that I often felt as if I was reading a memoir. I loved how they both had a strong anchor in the book and rather than fighting for the limelight they both shined just as equally as the other. I cannot wait to see what we will get next from Erin Bevan. I know for sure I will be right there ready to soak it all up!

I was particularly excited to discover that this anthology contains another of the Wounded Warrior Series by Tamara Ferguson as I’ve recently become a huge fan of this series. This is a series of books with a military theme and contains military servicemen and women who have been wounded in the line of duty.
In Two Hearts Alliance we are introduced to Captains Jeremy and Christine who first work together while Christine is still married. Jeremy can’t help is attraction to her. He is even more enamoured when she saves his life during a dangerous mission. Both meet again after Christine is divorced and they are unable to deny the attraction they have to one another.
This is a beautiful romance story filled with so much angst and drama. I was gripped by this story from the very beginning and the author didn’t let me go as she took me through this rollercoaster of emotions.
Christine and Jeremy are wonderful characters who I adored. I also loved that I got to see favourite characters from previous books and get a sneak peak at their futures.
100% recommend this anthology and the Wounded Warriors series by Tamara Ferguson.

Love Comes In The Mourning by Erin Bevan – Review by Katie Matthews

Love Comes in the MourningLove Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a lovely read; I was completely captivated by the whole book from beginning to end. The characters Lesley and John were wonderful; I especially fell in love with John straight away. I had my fingers crossed for Lesley the whole way through – I wanted her to find the man that she deserved someone who would love her like she loves. I could feel the emotions coming from John during the story; the author was able to get them across so well.
The authors writing was slow to develop but it was absolutely perfect for this story, there is no way a fast paced read would have suited these characters and their story.
I would absolute recommend Love Comes in the Mourning and this author and I look forward to reading more from Ms Bevan again in the future.

REBECCA STEELE FINDING A DREAM (REBECCA STEELE SERIES BOOK 2) by JOANNE PATTERSON – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream (Rebecca Steele Series #2)Rebecca Steele Finding the Dream by Joanne Patterson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

We first meet Becky Steele in ‘Rebecca Steele Chasing a Dream’, but although this is the second book in the ‘Rebecca Steele Series’ it can be read as a standalone story. I read it having not read the previous book and I thoroughly enjoyed it and then had to read the first book as well having fallen in love with Becky.
Becky now rides horses and lives on a ranch outside Nashville, her life is definitely different to when she was flying on airplanes. Becky is not only making her name for herself within her country music career but she is also taking the Tennessee rodeo circuit by storm. Best friend Emily is by her side sharing Becky’s new adventure with her. Just as Becky decides that she is happier than she’s ever been and is determined to enjoy her new life, out of the blue she is thrown a curve, a big one. Knowing that the decisions she makes will not only effect her life but those closest to her Becky need to decide whether she will take a chance.
I love Becky as a character as she has such a friendly, loving personality and is also independent and courageous and she is not afraid to go for what she wants in life. I found her relatable as a character and like that she shows her vulnerability at times, especially when she has to face her fears. Emily is a great best friend and I love the dialogue between the two of them. The storyline had plenty to keep me turning the pages, drama, suspense, romance and intrigue along with enough twists and turns that kept me guessing. I was cheering Becky on throughout this story as she worked toward attaining and living her dreams.

A Book Signing To Die For: Beach Reads by Judy Moore – Review by Anantha Rusum

A Book Signing To Die ForA Book Signing To Die For by Judy Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A very neat cozy mystery book which I enjoyed reading thoroughly. It has all the elements of a good book in it, a solid plot, good characters, a murder and a hint of romance. Sometimes you pick up a book not knowing much about the author or the book itself and read it with an open mind, with minimal expectations, it is a very pleasurable feeling when the book starts growing on the reader as you flip it page by page. This is precisely the effect this book had on me.

Beck O’Rourke co-owns Beach Reads bookstore and coffee shop with her grandmother. They live in an apartment along with Beck’s sister above the bookstore. They have book signing events which happen very frequently where they get small time and relatively well-to-do authors to speak and then sign the books bought in their store. On one such book signing event, they invite a Cozy mystery author, Marcia Graybill to their bookstore. As people love her mysteries, they get an audience of over 50 that day and the event turn out to be very successful.

Shortly after, in the night, there is a dead body found behind the jewelry store, which is adjacent to the book shop. The police department, headed by a handsome police detective Devon, arrive on the scene of the crime and make their own conclusions, which Becky does not concur with. She heads off to investigate the murder on her own. The murderer does not like this intrusion and neither does the police department. Now Becky’s life is in danger and she has to go all out to crack this case by herself.
It is a brilliant plot and a very edgy read; I could not guess the murderer till the very end. There are times however when I did feel Becky was taking too much liberty and it was amusing that people did not mind her intrusions or her queries. She is not a hired detective after all. It was like reading one of Ms. Marple’s mysteries of Agatha Christie, but Ms. Marple would take an effort to acquaint herself with her suspects personally before extracting information from them. Becky goes a fast forward route and with one visit or one phone call, her suspects seem to disclose quite a lot to her, which I found slightly amusing. I was also expecting a slightly longer romantic liaison between the main leads, but considering it a cozy mystery, it is understandable that the inferences have to be subtle.

Otherwise I loved every bit of it, the characters were adorable. And as I said earlier, I read this book with a very open mind and as a reader, reaped the rewards. A very fine book and looking forward to read more from this author!

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles, Book 3) by India Kells – Review by Naomi McDonald

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #3)Dead Magic by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dead Magic is the third book in the Sanctuary Chronicles series. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend the previous books because they are awesome!

This book grabbed a hold of me in the first chapter and didn’t let go. The action starts almost right away and it leads you on a journey with Finn to find Violet and save her.

I love the characters in this book. Who doesn’t love a brooding vampire and witches, right??? Especially when they are drawn together but don’t want to be. You connect to the characters right away, which keeps you invested in their story and the outcome.

Superb read! Get this book! You will not be disappointed.

FALL: The Ragnarök Prophesies: #2 by A.K. Morgen – Review by Angela Hayes

Fall (The Ragnarök Prophesies, #2)Fall by A.K. Morgen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fall is the second book in The Ragnarök Prophesies by A.K. Morgen. It is a fantastic blend of paranormal fantasy, Norse mythology, the prophecy of Ragnarök, destiny, wolves, danger, and intrigue- all wrapped up in a captivating story.
The characters are interesting and fully developed individuals- I found that this book is definitely more character driven, as the characters work through a lot of ‘inner’ issues, emotions, trying to figure out everything that has happened previously, as well as what they’re going through in this book. The need for communication, trust, and decision is paramount- but things aren’t quite going to plan. They will need to work it out and deal with their issues, before it’s too late! There’s a lot at stake!
Bring on Book #3!!!

Thank you, A.K. Morgen!

Dare Me (Book One in the Demonology series)Dare Me by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dare Me: A Paranormal Demon Romance but Felicity Brandon is the first book in the Demonology series. This book is a dark book that will have you utterly captivated from the start.
I loved the connection between Raif and Sara, you could feel it in every page. It was such an intense relationship that you were instantly drawn into it. I found myself glued to the pages, reading quicker and quicker as I tried to find out what was going to happen.
This is first book that I have read by this author and I really loved the intense and gritty feel to it. It isn’t something I expected which made it all the more exciting. The book was really well developed and I loved the way the author created the story. This is was fantastic book and one I would highly recommend.

Four Stars

Golden Void is the third book in Black Blade series by Alexander Charalambides. This Ya/Fantasy can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend you read the series in order because you will miss a lot of the backstory. They are all great books packed with action and adventure. Megan is finally settling in as an adopted teen when she is thrown into a quest. The characters in this series are amazing and the story flows from beginning to end. I really enjoy Mr. Charalambides work and look forward to reading more from him.

Love Comes in the MourningLove Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan a sweet and powerful four-star read. This is one of those stories that will surprise you as just when you think you know where the characters are going they take a turn and change things up, but in a great way, this is one of those stories that show us how we each deal with things differently and how that’s okay. Lesley was a great character and one that you will feel and support from the first page, she is such a compelling character. I enjoyed the slow burn element of the story, but It did go off the boil at times and I wondered what was happening but then it started to warm and it warmed my heart no end.

Irresistible Weddings (Irresistible Romance Book 4) Anthology – Review by Sara Oxton

IRRESISTIBLE WEDDINGS (Irresistible Romance Book 4)IRRESISTIBLE WEDDINGS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Irresistible Weddings plenty of reads worth celebrating. This has some great authors telling us some fantastic stories, of the eight authors I didn’t find one that I didn’t enjoy. I enjoyed that they all had a different twist, sometimes in an anthology you get a couple that may be similar, but I didn’t find that here, it was refreshing and fun to read. I must say a special mention to Tamara Ferguson as I adored her previous work so this was just like a cherry on top for me. Jen Talty with The Right Groom and Stephanie Queen with Playing with the Bridesmaid also rated highly with me, but there wasn’t a story I didn’t enjoy.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Martimus by Seelie Kay a five-star read that will keep you hooked. This is number five in the Feisty Lawyers series and I would say you can read this one as stand-alone, but the whole series is sublime, they all just keep you on the edge of your seat. This one has plenty of romance, but also plenty of drama and suspense, and the best thing is it just wraps everything up into this amazing story that will hook you in. I enjoyed how you are sucked so deeply into the story you will feel like you are part of the investigation, you will be wondering what is going on with these women, you will feel like you are one of the amazing characters unfolding this dramatic story. If you haven’t picked up this author before do it, as you wont be disappointed.

This is the 3rd book in the Black Blade series and this follows Megan.

Megan is a young girl who was adopted by Kendrick. When Megan follows Kendrick one night too make sure she comes to no harm she is entangled in the going on of magic one again and sent on another quest.

There is a killer on the loose and they are targeting the one who has the sword. Megan is sent on this quest with Tyson, who is a cocky athletic kid. Megan’s main job is to keep him and his attitude under control until they reach their destination. Also along this journey Megan is again left wondering who if anyone she can trust.

I really enjoyed this fantasy adventure. It contains a great deal of mystery as well as legend and murder. The author builds the character really well that you feel as if you are actually on the journey with them. It keeps you gripped and guessing from beginning to end.

This is an amazing collection of short stories which feature feisty women as then main character. They cover all generes of romance such as Paranormal, Contemporary, Fantasy, and Historical.

All the stories are good reads but one of my favourites is by Maggie Adams and is called Good Bones. It is a story written very well and even though it is a short story you get the full complete story so you don’t feel like anything is missing out of it because of the length.
