Blown away again by this author. They quickly made my list of top authors to read, and I can’t wait to get my hands on more of their genius work! Shadow had such an incredibly rough childhood, to say the least. To read about her tremendous tenacity was so inspiring, and their goal as an MC to stop human trafficking touches my heart. I loved to see her still trying to reach that romantic part of her soul through all the tragedy she’s encountered. The flow of this story matches the first, so please pick it up if you haven’t already because they do build upon each other. Plus, once you read one of this author’s books, you’ll immediately jump in to grab more. I can’t wait to see what this series brings next!
I have never read a book that made me want to be in an MC as badly as this one! I love a good MC and read them regularly, but this author has blown everyone else out of the water. Tink is bad to the bone and can back up her bark. I truly love that her main mission is eradicating human trafficking bit by bit. I enjoyed how real the characters feel. They aren’t painted as perfect and have this whole “take me as I am” vibe and I am HERE for it. The flow of this story was absolutely perfect. I am so excited to read more in this series!

I fell in love with the previous book in this series and I was so pumped to see that the author carried on with the characters in the first book instead of introducing completely random new people.
Indigo is a meek but strong, inventive, funny, brilliant nerdy girl of my dreams, having a lot of trauma from abuse she suffered by the hands of someone close to her in the past she has a hard time getting close to and trusting people, particularly men. That is until Gideon. Gideon is a gentle giant with his own demons to fight, right after he’s done fighting everything that can ever or has ever hurt or threatened indigo, he’s vowed to be her protector and he’s already her roommate, so what could go wrong here?
Indigo starts receives some shady messages from someone want to stop her from selling some programs she has made to the government and her new roommate is not going to let that fly and in the process his heart start to soar, for Indigo, now she’s just got to get with the program. Easier said than done when you’re fighting the demons she is. Can Gideon keep Indigo safe and convince her that her heart is also safe with him?
I love how meek Indigo is, except when it comes to letting others do everything for her, she may be the youngest Green Street Girl, but she is not one to be messed with. Her past pain is palpable and it tears at my soul to see her fighting to get through it in this book but it makes her character all the more relatable reading something so deep that happens to girls everywhere. Gideon, oh Gideon, not much I can say about Gideon but he’s the giant teddy bear I need, the big macho army type, don’t touch what’s mine, I’m also sporting scars from my past, I’m healing though, type guy is literally exactly what Indigo needed. Their romance is so relatable, wonderful, I couldn’t look away.
Once again, you knocked it out of the park N.D Jackson! I can’t wait to read the next book, which I’m assuming/hoping will be Gwyn’s.

I am left in such awe of how much this book pulled at my heartstrings! At first glance, it can sound like just a drama-filled story that has an obvious solution, but the author truly paints vivid imagery with such emotion that I shed tears more than once. Claire is such a strong young woman who is left with impossible and complex choices, but obviously has to choose. There is talk about mental health, teenage coming-of-age, friendship, and family issues. The author did a spectacular job bringing these characters to full-blown life for me as I was completely and utterly invested in what Claire was going to do and how she was going to pull it off. I am already looking to pick up other books from this author. I highly recommend picking this one up with an open mind and getting blown away by the brilliance of it all!

I almost didn’t even know how to start this review, I just read the first and second book (Broken) back to back and I’m in love with these ladies, and they’re wonderful men.
So Bared, is about our gorgeous goddess Athena, who is wealthy, down to earth and just a little bit damaged due to some traumatic experiences that happened when she was just a girl of 17. These experiences pushed her into being the strong, independent, no nonsense woman she is today, she let them shape her and motivate her to be successful in the business world, Athena now running and owning multiple clubs across the US. The only problem is Athena trusts no one, and Love? Besides for her chosen sisters Gwyn and Indigo, love is a foreign concept. Something she’s sworn off, believing she’s too damaged to feel it for a man again. But where there’s a strong woman, with a sordid past, there has to be an equally strong man ready to tear down all her walls and make second guess everything.
Enter Tru. Tru, in his own way is equally damaged from a past relationship that he thought would be his end game, but it just ended up being a game. Seems like Tru must like games because he happens to be a professional billiards player with some pretty rad skills. Boy meets girl. Tru heads to a tournament in Chicago, which just so happens to be held in one of Athena’s Clubs, one of her newest and latest projects and when they meet, fireworks.
Can these two hard headed, strong independent people get over their pasts and embrace the love that’s surely brewing between the two of them, or are the destined for loneliness to save themselves from heart break.
Ugh, Tru, is such a hard head, he’s typical masc man, but definitely with a sweeter side with a slash of southern gent, minus the accent, but I get so frustrated when he takes everything so personally and compares it to his ex, makes me want to reach into the book and flick him in the nose. But the same can be said for Athena, her strong will and drive are admirable, but she’s so closed off and closed minded when it comes to Tru I could wrong her neck. But all of the things make these two and their relationship even more endearing, because you go through these battles with them. You can’t help but fall in love while standing on the side lines rooting for them. Loved this book, I highly recommend!

This was the first book I’d read in the Oscar and Emmy series, and it turned out to be so wonderful! It was beautifully illustrated and contained such great information about Trap-Neuter-Return. My family is full of animal lovers, so this was right up our alley. I read it with my 7-year-old and 11-year-old, and we all came away with something new and useful. I think it’s crucial in educating everyone about stray and feral cats. I have already picked up several of the other books in the series. I highly recommend picking this up and sharing with the younger ones in your life!

A very clever take on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk! Jack is a typical Earth boy and the ogre/giant is watching his every move. He’s got a plan to get Jack to visit but Jack might be a little more cunning than the ogre.
This is a cute book that kids will love. They won’t expect the ending, which will make it more fun!

Oscar and Emmy Gain a Friend is a great book about a worthwhile topic that hits very close to home, T-N-R or Trap-Neuter-Release. It had wonderful, full-color illustrations, and easy to understand wording. We had a very similar situation to this one and it very quickly got out of control. Luckily a local humane society was able to step in and help us out and they continue to work with us to maintain the situation so it doesn’t get out of control again. I enjoyed how in the author letter at the end she explained how T-N-R was near and dear to her own heart and how Shadow was based off of a real life cat. She also gave such worthwhile explanations on what Trap-Neuter-Release is really about and how it works. I feel like this would be a really good book for young and older kiddos alike who are having to experience a situation like this one or want to know more.

This is the second book in the Hawke Family Second Generation series. This instalment focuses on Jude and Angelina.
I always enjoy coming back to the Hawke family books, they’re well-written and the characters are complex yet believable. The writing style is easy to follow and flows nicely making getting drawn in easy. Once again, I got far too emotionally invested in both Jude and Angelina and how their story would develop, especially given both their traumas. The tension is clear throughout and the danger evident leaving you on the edge of your seat at times.
I’m looking forward to the release of the next book, I just can’t stand the waiting!

Heavy Shot is the seventh book in the sports Nashville Assassins: Next Generation series. Unfortunately, I didn’t realise it was the seventh book in the series until I went looking for the next book to read. Now I have started at the end I need to go back and start at the beginning with the first book with the first generation. Heavy Shot is an entertaining story with some laughter but it’s not all fun and games. There is some early childhood trauma that comes into play. This emotional and heartfelt tale is sexy, and sparks fly as the MC’s give in to what they want. Watch as the locker room steams up from more than just the showers. The characters are so easy to like and fall in love with they stole my heart. The Assassins are an Ice hockey team many following in their fathers’ legacies and Dimitri is no different. It is his life. Is history repeating itself? Will one encounter lead to a HEA? Well to find out you will have to read the story yourself.

This brings in the love-triangle between her fiancé, Zeke, and another member in the Shamrocks (don’t want to spoil it!). Oscar and Emmy Gain a Friend is an educational and fun read. It raises awareness to the young and old about cats that have no home.
I am a rescue girl for all my animals. Well, that is except my (already fixed) stray cat affectionately named Kitty Kat, that adopted us about a year ago but continues to live outside. I had never heard of TNR so was interested to learn more about it. I also learned that it is banned here in Australia.
Terri has done a good job of weaving together a controversial topic and child’s story to make it a topic that can be fun and easily shared. Through bright and colourful pictures this story teaches young minds the pitfalls of abandoned animals and the outcome of neglecting them.
I see there are many more adventures for Oscar and Emmy to read to my grandbabies and my new great granddaughter.

This book is a well written and interesting book that places the focus on the main character, Gabby. This is the 6th book in the series and the first I have read by this author. I didn’t realise initially that this was not the first book. I would say it csn be read as a standalone but I definitely think you would benefit from reading them all, something I am going to go back and do! I really enjoyed Gabby’s character. I loved that the focus was on her. It strengthened the whole story overall. I enjoyed watching her work to overcome the challenges she faced. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book and I am looking forward to discovering the rest of the series.

Heavy Shot is the seventh book in the Nashville Assassins series by Toni Aleo. I had actually never heard of this series before, and this is the first book I have read by this author. I really enjoyed this story, I read it in one sitting and found it thoroughly entertaining. The story follows Austen, a young woman with a tragic past who is currently trying to learn all she can about hockey to take over her grandfather’s new business, and Dimitri, the Russian stallion. When the two unexpectedly get pushed into the others personal space they both help each other see that there is more to life than what they have had so far. I loved these characters; they are so genuine. I started getting the rage at Austens grandfather though. I love it when a book makes me emotional. I would recommend this book to romance lovers. The only thing I would ask/change is for there to be a breakdown somewhere of who everyone is related to and how. As a newcomer to the series there was a lot of names all at once and it took a bit of time to work out how each person fitted in, however, in saying that I will be going back to the start to read this series.

This book was full of sparks all over. We have Shelli, grudge holder to Dimitri. Shelly and Posey, sisters who argue. Dimitri and Austen. Oh, did I love Dimitri and Austen story. These two showed us what true love is. It all came down to what is more important to you and what are you willing to give up. First, this is my first venture into the Nashville Assasins and I need more!! This team story is hot and exciting. I loved the drama. Second, I couldn’t put down the story of these two. I was pulled in by their interactions. I loved the back stories with all the OG families, such as Peepaw, and Dimitri’s family and the Adlers. The dual POV makes reading it so much more like you are there listening to the interaction. This book was a fantastic story. A quick read that will make you smile.

I found this a romantic and charming story. The flirting between these two was fun and quite witty. When one can’t talk and the communication must be done by writing it makes it so much fun. The miscommunication can be fun and quite enticing. Blushing abounds because errors can be made. These two are quite fun characters. I enjoyed their story. It kind of reminded me of a Pretty Woman vibe. I couldn’t stop the story. Ali had her hands full trying to figure out what had happened to her brother and that mystery, then she comes upon Joe in the woods. He’s dealing with surgery that can mess up his career. His biggest obstacle sis having to keep quiet due to surgery on his vocal cords. I enjoyed the story very much.Hearing it in audio did a lot to add to it. The narration was a little dry but I still enjoyed it as it brought the story to life. With Ali’s brother’s mystery, I feel hearing it in audio, that helps add more to the story. It’s quite enjoyable.

This is the 3rd book in the Devil’s Handmaidens all female MC: Timber Ghost Montana. I have loved these books from the start and i do recommend reading them in order so that you get to read about and learn about all the characters that make up this all women MC Club. D M Earls writing is amazing. You are immediately grabbed and dragged into these women’s lives from the beginning. Each one of them has a story to tell, mostly a dark and upsetting story which has lead them to the Devil’s Handmaidens MC. And Taz is no exception. One thing I love is these women are fiercely protective of their own and Will stop at nothing to make sure every member is safe and protected. This is Taz’s story. Taz was found by MC member Shadow when she was fleeing her abusive partner. Along with her autistic son she suffered physical, mental and sexual abuse from her ex who was part of a white supremises group. Fearing for her sons safety more than her own she flees hoping to never see him again. After becoming part of the MC their lives change Taz deals with the book keeping and all the sisters in the MC take her son under their wings. Life seems to be going smoothly until the day her ex finds them. Now her ex is back and won’t stop until he gets what he wants which is Taz. Now Taz had the backing and support of the Handmaidens can she finally be rid of him for good? Or will it take more than her MC and their friends to protect her from her abusive ex and the white supremacist group who are after them? This story is full of danger, worry, secrets, lies and corruption. It will keep you gripped from start to end as you find out if the Devil’s MC and their friends can stand up to this group of people hell bent on causing damage and destruction
This was another great little kid’s book, so many lessons and learning for kids. It was beautiful story and illustrations my kids really enjoyed this story. it was about stray cats and how to understand how to deal with them. the cute book was very incredible and cute. Highly recommend this cute little story about cats

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I was excited to pick up the next book in this series. I highly suggest reading the previous book in this series to help your enhancement of the characters and the author’s writing style. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. The characters pull you into the story from the beginning. They are great strong, steamy characters that are among some of my favorites. They have great chemistry and growth throughout the story adding to the entertainment value of the story. This is a fast paced, engaging story where growing up on the streets, life teaches you to trust no one. A life where you find yourself trusting one person but you are not allowed to have her. No matter what you can’t have her but there is a determination and attraction that can’t be ignored. This is a story you don’t want to miss. It is full of romance, steam and just hard to put down. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

I loved this story so much I wish there was more. I was in a serious book coma when this one ended. The way Claire steps up to take care of her little brother is so amazing and to see the lengths she is willing to go. I love the strength and understand she finds in her friends. Nyman does in incredible job as showing that sometimes family can hurt the most when the claim to have the best of intentions and friends can be closer than blood. This girl has her priorities straight. I think this is an great story for adults but would also encourage young adults to read it as well. And the shocker at the end!! Wow. Great work, please write more like this.

This story follows Lizza and her family on their “adventurous move.” Lizza’s dad has a taxidermy business and ultimately decides to move the family into a cave. A cave where the family is on display for tourists. All Lizza wants to do is move back into a normal house. My tween loved reading about all of Lizza’s schemes in an attempt to get her family back to “normal.”

Cute story and illustrations. Appreciate the fact that the mom warns the kids the feral cat may not like human interaction, which might help emotionally regulate a child that becomes upset with a feral cat in real life. The book also realistically discussed TNR programs, which was nice it mentions real-world programs.
As an educator, I appreciate the use of dialogue- so many kids books don’t have dialogue for teaching grammar and what quotation marks mean, and the conversations contained within the book are authentic!

The Silent Woodsman (The Olympic Peninsula series Book 1) Audiobook by Cat Treadgold
The Silent Woodsman is the first book in The Olympic Peninsula Series (Audiobook) by this author with narration by Cat Treadgold. This is my first Audiobook by this author and I’m a fan already. She did a wonderful job with narrating the characters really came to life with the different tones of her voice. I’m fairly new to this author and her work .She pulls you in from the beginning and it’s hard to stop listening. A storm brought them together but their worlds are keeping them apart. I highly recommend listening to this book to find out what happens next. I don’t want to give to much away. This is definitely worth listening to. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I read this and then re read it with some of my little bookworms that visit my library and I must be honest it was a lot more fun the second time round because I could see through the eyes of a child ❣️📚
Being an animal lover I can imagine that having a dad that’s a taxidermist must be an absolute nightmare for Liza but when he decides to put the family on “ display” in a cave i think that was the last straw for her and she makes a decision to rescue herself for. This situation but for every action there’s a reaction right !? The latter isn’t always fun though and more often than not what we expect isn’t what we get and our decision don’t always only affect us but those around us and this is where myself and kids had great discussions and while they enjoyed the story they walked away feeling like they’d learnt something ❣️📚

Reticent Hawke is Book #2 in the new Hawke Family Second Generation series by Gwyn McNamee. I was expecting to love this book, because hello, it’s Gwyn McNamee— but I really didn’t expect to FLOVE it so very very hard. Even having Ms. McNamee play her version of whac-a-mole and pinball with my heart and emotions – making me reach for the tissues, more than once- while I was sobbing my heart out and trying to read through all the tears — she wrung me out and I FLOVED every second! GAH, this is going to be a short review, because how can I ever hope to capture PERFECTION in a few short paragraphs??? Seriously, if you haven’t read this book yet, do yourself a favour and grab a copy and dive right in- you won’t regret it- I cannot recommend this book/series/author highly enough! You NEED her and this book in your life! I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in Book #3- Relentless Hawke. Happy Reading…

Murder in a Gated Community was different. It was written from the point of view of a few people that could sometimes be confusing. The way the author wrote the characters at first I thought it was a retirement community. But then there was a family with a child. Even then the characters reminded me of the ones who always yelled at us when we were outside playing as kids. Because we were running around, our ball/frisbee ended up on their lawn, ect. Older grumpier people, hence why I initially thought it was a retirement community. There’s a lot going on in such a short story. Jane is trying to deal with her ailing wife while moving on. Hazel is fighting for her garden plot, I wonder why? And Theresa is dealing with the backlash of it all. So when the community is rocked it’s a question of how to move forward. It’s not a basic whodunnit type story. It’s one with a lot of “Karen’s” people constantly complaining about little things to the community board of directors and how they handle the outcomes.

Parisian Intirgue is the 6th book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. While it could probably be read without reading the other books, I wouldn’t recommend it. The series is really great, and I’ve really gotten to know the characters over time. This book takes place in Paris, during the unveiling of the Eiffel Tower, where Emma and Jeremy, and her sister Dora and her husband Tim have gone on vacation. They received a letter with free tickets, and while they assumed there was ulturior motive, they decided to go. Like all the stories, Emma is found in the middle of drama and crime and saves the day. I love seeing the strong women characters, and the support she has from her family. Emma goes way against the norm of women at her time, but her family and friends are beyond supportive. This book is a page turner, and I love that there is a little bit of history tied in. I loved that the author made Dora and Emma’s dad part of the Eiffel Tower building committee, and the tie in of electricity. Can’t wait for the next book. Keep them coming!!
