The Secrets They Hide: An Italian Murder Mystery is the second book in series…and the author did not disappoint! P.J. Mann sets the mystery in Rome…and I mean you should know that most great mystery stories come from Rome…or at least that’s my opinion! This is my first read by P.J. Mann, and I will definitely be going back and reading the first book in the series. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the first book just to get the feel of Detective Scala, and all of his quirks. Detective Scala has found himself in a unique predicament on trying to solve a recent murder mystery, and he will stop at nothing to solve the case! Detective Scala is stubborn in every aspect of his life, from the way he deals with his family to the way he eats his sandwiches! I won’t say much more because I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say I don’t think you will be disappointed!
The writing style kept me reading nonstop until the end, I really enjoyed the detail that P.J. put into the storyline and development of the characters. I truly look forward to reading more from this author soon!

This was a very unique retelling of Jack and The Beanstalk and the author has written this one from the Giants perspective. She has tried to bring a modern twist to the story by using modern thing like televisions and the use of media – in this case television adverts. In all honesty this isn’t my favourite of her stories that I’ve read but it would have some great follow up activities for children – they could make their own adverts for tv like the giant and jack did in this story.
The illustrations were good – bright and colourful and the story is short so it would definitely hold a child’s attention.

I haven’t read a good sports romance story for a while so when I saw this one, I grabbed it. Now it is book 9 in the series and I have only read 1 of the others from this series but they are easily read as standalones.

I really liked the characters in this story, yes, I will admit Wyatt was not one of those characters you get an instant connection with but I think I ended up liking him even more because of how much his character grew over the story and there was some great character development with him. Serena was a really nice character and I loved that this wasn’t one of those instant, one night stand kind of relationships. It was lovely to see the whole thing develop over the story.

Overall, a really great read, I definitely mist read some of the other from the series now!

This was such an amazing read. When I first read the blurb, I wasn’t really expecting there be so much emotion in the story and for what I was reading to be so powerful. It really did feel like real lives I was reading about; I was really invested in the story and what Claire would do. Claire really was an amazing character, for her age she had such strength, care and loyalty and that really shone through. She had such difficult decisions to make that would not only impact on her life but also of that f her mother and her baby brother. There were some good twists in the story and a great character in Claire’s Uncle who you just have to hate!
This was an amazing read and definitely one that shouldn’t be missed! I 100% recommend Complicated Choices – it’s a wonderful read.

Love Bites More (The Darkness & Light Duology, and the Love Bites World) by TL Clark

Love Bites More is the third book in The Darkness & Light Duology and the Love Bites World. This is a wonderfully written Paranormal/MM/Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I was instantly pulled in and had a hard time putting it down. The attention to detail, and characters that are creative, relatable and fully developed make for quite the adventure. I loved that the author gave us a bring you ul to speed at the beginning that way if you hadn’t read the other books you’ll know what has happened and who they are. This one is my favorite yet but the others are just as good. These three take us on quite the emotional journey of trying to figure each other out and how to make it all work. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I am totally in love with this series and this talented, creative author! The Brooks family is qwerky, 100% relatable and real. They all weave their way into your heart so easily. This second book of the series is mainly about Carter and Sunny but you still have glimpses of the rest of the family. If you haven’t actually read book 1 don’t worry there is nothing stopping you from reading this book and fully enjoying it but I say read them all! I can’t wait for more from the Love on Tap series. I just know there is so much more fun to be had with these wonderful characters.

As always Ms. Tataw continues with gorgeous detail and a wonderful story in her fourth installment of The Gods’ Scion series! As a whole this series continues to be unique and ethereal! It is one of my new favorites! The Sisterhood of Secrets as well as her previous installments have a really nice flow and tone that keeps you glued to the pages! I couldn’t flip them fast enough! The Gods’ Scion series is a wonderful read when you feel like you need an escape for a while. It completely transports you and it’s so easy to get lost in the story! Everything is so thorough, from the fashion to the culture and rituals Ms. Tataw truly thought of everything! Highly recommend this book and series to any supernatural or fantasy lover! You will not be disappointed!

I have absolutely fallen for this series! The relationship between Arcelia and Rodrick gave me butterflies that continue with each book! Every installment truly just keeps getting better and better! Tataw creates beautiful and vivid imagery filled with castles and gardens that make you feel like you are actually there. With all the supernatural and fantasy aspects this book was already right up my alley but Ms. Tataw takes it one step further and creates an amazing world with so much detail! I enjoy the names she comes up with like “Street Crawlers” and “Mohidens”. It really keeps you reading because it is so engaging! Descendants of Time and Death is also filled with secrets and adventure as well as some amazing character development! I can’t wait to continue this gripping series! I highly recommend this book and The Gods’ Scion series to anyone looking for a great fantasy series to sink their teeth into!

Ten Little Star Fish: A Counting Book by Kim Ann. It is a fun learn-to-count picture book that is accompanied by lovely, cute, interesting, and colourful illustrations that easily captures your attention, while bringing the whole story to life.
The rhyming verses that told the story are a great way to help teach young children to count. This also has the added interest of having some starfish ‘facts’ listed at the end of the book, as well as a ‘finder’ puzzle that made this storybook both educational and fun.
Highly recommended. An engaging, fun, imaginative, and enjoyable children’s picture book that helps them learn to count along the way.
Looking forward to whatever Kim Ann brings us next.

Taz is the third book in the Devil’s Handmaidens MC Series and I am so invested in these women! They are not only bad@%#, independent, strong, take-charge women, but are fiercely loyal to family and their sisterhood. While not sharing some of the trauma of the ladies of the Devil’s Handmaidens, I do share their loyalty to family and chosen family. D. M. Earl is fast becoming a favorite writer of mine due to her amazing world building and descriptive writing style that sucks you in and won’t let go! Her characters are all so different from the others but are surprisingly realistic and believable. Taz has drama, lots of ups and downs, and plenty of mystery elements that had me flipping pages well into the night! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!

Another wonderful story in this series! Not as fun and funny as the first but still a good one. I love the family and all their quirks and of course I cant wait for Miller’s story as he seems the most rambunctious and entertaining of the three boys. Carter is more stoic and serious but his little librarian has all the stuff he is missing including but not limited to the outrageous octogenarian. I think I would have liked this more with less political entanglements as that seemed to pull out the more serious stuff.

Overall this is a cute story with fun sprinkled throughout. I look forward to Miller’s story and seeing what he has gotten into this time.

This premise of this story sounds intriguing but the execution was a struggle for me. I was continually drawn out of the flow by the timeline and how the sides of the story don’t match up with what we previously read. The story is broke my heart a time or two and I really felt for Logan. I liked how focused he was on finding her and how his anguish filled the pages.

Overall it seemed appealing but honestly I lost interest as the time dragged on. Maybe a shorter story and adjustments to the timeline would have helped me enjoy this story.

This is a cute little book that will be great to teach a little one how to count. The illustrations are very vibrant and can help to teach colors as well. The story is narrated by a crab and tells about various aspects of starfish. At the end of the story, there is a brief activity to reinforce learning, as well as a song that can be downloaded to sing along.

This book would make a great gift, be an amazing find in a library (personal, public, school), or even in a daycare setting.

I liked the small selection of starfish facts at the end, there was one that I didn’t know so I learnt something too!

I would recommend this book if you’re looking for a fun book to help young children count to ten.

Murder in a Gated community was the perfect short read to liven up my week. The cast of characters was a lot of fun and took me back to my days as a nurse in an assisted living community and silently watching the interactions between “neighbors”. This was a fun story with wit and a humor that kept me engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed the scattered communication with the BOD and that each chapter had a title. As mentioned, I really did enjoy this short read and I’m curious to see what else the author has for me to delve into.

This is definitely a different take on a love story and I absolutely love it! This story tackles the topic of female sexual fulfillment and does so in such a way that it makes the heroine seem relatable. Rebecca is such an amazing character, well written and really just seems like a normal one of the girls. She was recently called frigid in regards to her performance in bed and then was dumped. Lets be honest, that would give anyone a bit of a complex. And of course, this is when someone appears who seems to show interest in Rebecca. But will she even remotely act on the interest and risk seeming frigid again? I have to say that Rebecca was one of the best characters I have read in a while. She just really was someone I felt that I wanted to get to know. I also love how the author tackles such a “taboo” topic with such relatability. I loved this story and I cannot wait to read more by the author!

A gripping, suspenseful crime drama which had me hooked from page one. Starting off in Texas, and Jessica Watts is determined not to get hurt again and so keeps people at arm’s length, whilst keeping the tequila near by. She’s still scarred from her parents corruption and lack of love, but the cross-border broker, known for being tough-as-nails, softens when a Mexican tycoon, with shady connections begs her to find his missing daughter. Jessica starts interviewing the missing woman’s friends but all this does is put her in danger, resulting in her being drugged and beaten.
However, Jessica is keen to carry on, even when the trail leads from Boston to Central America. Not only is she hunted by dangerous thugs but also by her own demons, but the deal maker turned detective is determined to succeed, and to survive to find peace. Jessica is a great main character, she’s stubborn, independent, tough, determined, but also haunted and drinks a bit too much tequila, all of which just makes her more likeable and relatable. The unique settings were brought vividly to life making me feel immersed in the story, whilst the fast paced storyline and plot twists kept me happily turning the pages!

This book is a brilliant start to a new series for pre-teens. It is fun, interesting and written in a way that will really grab their attention. This is such a heart warming story about a young boy and his grandad. The connection that builds between them as the book goes on is lovely to see.
This book is one of those that is engaging to both kids and adults. I read this to my daughter and it is one we both fully enjoyed. This was a new author for us and it won’t be the first book that we read from them. This is a great book and we are all looking forward to book 2.

This book is a fun and entertaining counting book that is perfect for young children. It is probably the first book that is better suited to my younger child which was a nice change. It was lovely to see my daughter reading it to my son, teaching him the numbers.
The images in the books kept them both engaged from start to finish and I loved sharing the book with them both. The educational element is made fun for the family. This is a great book that all kids should read.

What an engaging, colorfully illustrated, fun book of starfish as we count from 1-10. The story is wonderful and I love the rhyme that goes along each page. The starfish are in the sandy beach floor as they find their way to the rocks or on the ocean floor.

I loved that learning tidbits at the end of the story as well about starfish….this book can be enjoyed from very young to old….I never stop learning and I learned some interesting facts about starfish!

Reminiscent of the popular Magic Tree House series, I enjoyed the time traveling historical fiction book The Magic Carousel even better. Kept my interest as well, because you never knew which chapter would land you on which year or story, and I could see kids looking up even more about a favorite story (as a side note, I would have liked to know about the historical notes for each chapter/adventure- I did the ebook and didn’t think to flip to the end).

Loved how the storyline was unique and you grew to love the characters and the bond between grandparent and grandchild. The problems he encounters children (and adults) can relate to. Unlike the previously mentioned series that oftentimes seems flat (let’s go to the Middle Ages…. with not much story line), this reads like a novel/story. I can’t wait to see the series continue.

This is the second book of the Green St Girls but I believe it can be read as a stand-alone. I really like that Indigo is her own person and that the company is hers. I liked the idea of someone sending threatening letters and calls over this software I just didn’t like how the author tried to tie in her past in the threats. I’m glad indigo trusted Gideon enough to tell him about what happened to her and it helps us understand why she is so against finding a person. It just wasn’t believable that her father would be the person making threats. I really thought the relationship with Gideon and Indigo was cute, I’m glad they got a happy ending.

This is the 4th book in the Code of Honour Series. It can be read as a standalone, however I will be going back to read the others as I enjoyed this one. The author does a great job with these characters. I love seeing the growth of Angelica from the shy nerdy school girl into a woman who is strong and determined. She has her walls around her to protect her and those walls don’t let just anyone in and they aren’t easy to get through as Chase finds out.

Chase was your typical popular boy at school. He saw women as nothing more that entertainment for one night. He never gave Angelica a thought in that way only ever noticing her when he wanted help with his work. So when he returns home and meets his nephews teacher he sees the woman that Angelica has become. She is everything he never knew he wanted.
However Angelica isn’t prepared to give in so easily no matter how attracted to him she is. Can he work hard to break her walls and finally learn how to treat a women? Can Angelica let down her guard and risk letting him in?

This story is a second chance romance. The attraction and chemistry jumps and sizzles of the page and keeps you reading to find out what happens next.
