This book is full of grief, pain, lost loves, redemption, and healing. I love the chemistry between Ryan and Tess even though things moved way too fast in my opinion. I laughed and cried reading this story!

Spirit Guide is the third book in the Madame Chalamet Mysteries series. I have been thoroughly enjoying this series of ghostly mysteries so it’s a treat to read another book! In Spirit Guide, Elinor is brought in to help find a missing woman whose disappearance may have something to do with the Morpheus Society which trained Elinor (and has recently saddled her with a troublesome apprentice, Twyla).
I read the first couple of books out of order (I love food-themed books so couldn’t resist Delicious Death!) but I’d recommend reading the series in order, starting with Ghost Talker, to get to know the characters and see them develop over time.
This is an exciting mystery with fascinating paranormal elements. Elinor’s earlier forays into the Beyond have opened up possibilities that were not previously considered. While Twyla lacks control over her abilities, she does seem to have a natural inclination which proves both dangerous and useful.
This book gets five stars from me! Thoroughly engaging and entertaining. I’d recommend it to fans of gaslamp fantasy and anyone who enjoys a mystery and a ghost story.

As expected, this romance novel starts with Kenna having all the bad things happen one right after the other, and Dec comes to save the day. Throughout the story Kenna does have some self growth, however, Dec does have to catch up eventually. I love how the author intermingles the minor characters to make the story more entertaining for the reader.

Kenna was having the worst day of her life, nobody would question that. Her life was in shambles on every front when her aunt passed away leaving Kenna with a seemingly impossible task to fulfill in order to claim her inheritance. Dec Boggs is the all American guy with the sweetest soul, despite a troubled past. Kenna and Dec must make nice, Maeve left them no choice. Salt Love was an easy read about taking your life back and not being afraid to get what you want and deserve in life. The characters feel deeply and are so relatable.

Kenna’s life is falling apart. Her marriage is over, her husband is a cheating loser, she was beat out for a promotion by a woman she cannot stand and now her Aunt has passed away and she must travel for the reading of the will. Her Aunt’s next door neighbor Dec was a huge part of her life before she passed. They were great friends. Everything was pretty much left to Dec and Kenna. Immediately, Kenna disliked Dec even though she thought he was insanely hot! They became friends which was inevitable since they are neighbors for at least the next year and will be running a business together. Dec sees Kenna at her worst when she breaks down and he also has a chance to see her at her best. The both develop feelings for eachother but, should Kenna really have feelings for a man before her divorce is even final? And Dec has a secret that will come out and Kenna feels Like he lied to her all along. She feels like he’s a different person and she doesn’t even know him anymore. Will they be able to build a relationship or will the secrets be a deal breaker and end what they have before it even really begins. I really enjoyed reading this book but I knew I would because I love everything by this author.

Spirit Guide: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries by Byrd Nash. This is the third installment in the Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series and I just loved it. It picks up right where the last one left off so I do recommend reading them in order. Elinor and Tristan continue to grow their relationship and solve crimes together. After Elinor’s dad is murdered she is trained as a medium so she works with local officials to solve crimes. In this mystery they are looking for a missing nobleman’s daughter who was researching the mysterious Morpheus Society. The more Elinor and Tristan look into this society the more strange things happen. A high ranking member of this society ends up doing really bad things between the realms. Will they be able to find the missing girl before she’s gone forever or before someone else disappears? Such a fun read. Love this series!
Salt Love: A Summer Romantic Comedy by Marika Ray. This is such a emotional read about Kenna who married her high school sweetheart and such a hard worker. Finding out in the same week that her husband was cheating on her and her favorite Aunt passed away. Being served divorce papers and finding out she is part owner in a boat club and a new house left to her by her aunt in Florida in the same week is a lot to take in. Heading to Florida she is so down on herself feeling like a complete failure. When she arrives in Florida she finds out that 1/2 of the boat club is owned by a hot, grumpy guy named Dec. Dec was super grumpy but he felt a pull towards Kenna and can’t stay away from her. They end up spending time together and getting closer. While working on her house and working at the boat club gives her a sense of purpose and Dec makes her think she might believe in love again. Kenna has a lot of funny situations happen and this book will make you laugh out loud.

Irresistible Bond: Central Florida Stories by Victoria Saccenti. I loved this book. Its the story of Storm who works undercover for the DEA. She is attached to her friends Marcus and Barrington who are cousins, all thru growing up but when she left to join the DEA they lost touch. Storm comes from immigrants where Barrington and Marcus are from a very wealthy family. Before Storm left to join the DEA she overheard the cousins families talking bad about her because of her being poor. She left before the cousins could take up for her. While working undercover she is kidnapped and tortured by drug lords and thinking about her relationship with the cousins and her love for them is what keeps her alive. Finally rescued by her fellow DEA people she ends up in a hospital wanting to call Marcus and Barrington but they beat her to the punch by showing up at the hospital declaring their love for her as well. The only agree to a relationship as a threesome so she has to agree to that. Such a steamy love story.

This fun children’s story is easy to read and is aimed at tweens around age 11 to 13. It is a good mix of paranormal and fantasy with mythological beings, plenty of action, mystery, suspense, drama, danger, dire warnings, and challenges, and much more. Tally is confronted with ancient myths and will need all her strength to make a decision that could change everything. There is something for anyone to enjoy if you love a good tween adventure story.

I thoroughly enjoyed “The Monkey Island Murder: A Sparky of Bunker Hill Mystery” by Rosalind Barden P. This lighthearted, humorous mystery is perfect for fans of 1930s-set mysteries with a touch of whimsy.
The story is full of colorful characters, including Sparky’s guardian, Tootsie, a former silent movie star; her assistant Gilbert, a.k.a. the goblin; and various eccentric suspects and allies. Then there is “Sparky” herself, as she says, her crook name because Ambrosia Brown doesn’t suit her (her real name). The characters are well-written and memorable, making it easy to become invested in their stories.
The mystery itself is engaging, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers guessing. The author does a great job of weaving together clues and plot threads, keeping me curious until the very end.
One of the standout aspects of this book is its unique setting. The 1930s Los Angeles setting adds a fascinating layer of historical context to the story, and the inclusion of Prohibition-era gangsters and flappers adds to the atmosphere.

I thoroughly enjoyed “Spirit Guide: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries” by Byrd Nash! The story is a delightful blend of gaslamp fantasy, mystery, and ghostly intrigue, set in the charming coastal city of Alenbonné.
Elinor Chalamet, the protagonist, is a feisty and clever spirit guide with a knack for communicating with the dead. Her unique skills are put to the test when a nobleman’s daughter goes missing, and she’s tasked with finding her. The investigation is complicated by a bumbling apprentice, a drunken soldier, and a stubborn nobleman who refuses to share information.
The world-building is rich and immersive, with a vivid description of the city’s atmospheric streets, markets, and landmarks. The characters are well-developed and complex, with Elinor being particularly well-written. Her banter with her friends and allies is witty and entertaining, making her a relatable and endearing protagonist. My favorite quip was when if Nikolas brought the sandwich back with a pickle, he would “need tongs to remove it from your throat!”

The Puppy Adventures of Porter and Midge: Out and About is a fun and very educational children’s book full of colorful illustrations. Teaching along the way, Lora and CJ would like to include their puppies Porter and Midge in their local parade. Having a new puppy is a lot of responsibility and knowing everything from playtime to manners…keeping the puppies calm if they are afraid…so much learning when trying to teach a new puppy including patience. Lora and CJ learn so much along the way and Porter and Midge are wonderful.
This story is a great book to learn everything about training a new furry family member…not only can children learn but even adults as well…..I love all the fun and educational value of this story.

Spirit Guide was another book greatly written by Byrd Nash. The world building and character building was great. I do recommend reading the first 2 books before this one. The detailing was good in the book. This was a page turner for me.
Salt Love was a great humor romance story. If you want a good romance book that will make you laugh, this is the book for you. I really love the authors writing style in this book. The author grabbed my attention from the beginning to the end of this book. This was another page turner for me.

Irresistible Bond is a romance suspense novel by Victoria Saccenti. It is book 5 of the Central Florida Stories Series and can be read as a stand-alone. Marcus, Storm, and Barrington are childhood best friends. As children they were inseparable but Storm is preparing to begin her dream job with the DEA. Of course, this happens just as things start to heat up with the trio and they find themselves wanting to explore a different side to their bond. This book was very interesting and layered. The storytelling is rich and emotional. The bond between the cousins, Marcus and Barrington, and their “princess” Storm is very strong. This author provides a richer experience than was expected. There are some trigger warnings but it is worth the read.

The Puppy Adventures of Porter and Midge: Out and About is a children’s book by Jennie Chen and Giselle Nevada. It is part of their Porter and Midge Children’s Book Series. Lorna and CJ are learning how to keep Porter and Midge safe in this book. They learn what to do for the dogs until their final vaccinations. They also learn what to do to keep the dogs as well as others safe when they are out and about. This is a very helpful guide for old and new pet owners. The book is easy to read. The instructions are given in a fun story but are easy to follow. The illustrations are clear and fun. This is another must-have pet care book.

Storm, Marcus and Barrington were inseparable when they were young, although the attraction was there between all three of them they decide one night to delve into the chemistry. Although they loved each other with Marcus and Barrington being from a wealthy family, Storm was always seen as below them in there family circles.
One night Storm hears what there families truly think of her and she then decides to pursue her career within the DEA leaving the cousins to live there lives. Roll on four years later and when a operation goes wrong Storm is left with emotional and physical scars to recover from but when she is home Marcus and Barrington show up and restore faith in Storm slowly with there love and patience.
Can they make it work and can Storm trust the two cousins with her heart?
This is the fifth book in this series and although this is a series, this book can be read as a stand alone although there are some over laps with the previous books you can follow the story easily.
I loved the chemistry and relationships between all three of the main characters and the love they have for each other jumps of the page. There are some trigger topics with the scenes when Storm is held captive but this adds to the story and how remarkable the character of Storm is to try and overcome the experiences.
I have always liked Marcus and Barrington from the previous stories but they just are cemented more and more in my heart after sticking up for Storm with there family and living their lives they way they want to is just refreshing to read. The chemistry jumps off the page and the story is intense and flows brilliant which will have you staying up all night finishing this brilliant story.
I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This is another delightful book following the adventures of Porter and Midge. This time, they need to learn basic training to take part in a parade. As usual, this book takes an important, educational matter relating to dogs and teaches it to children in a fun and entertaining way. Both of my kids loved learning about what is involved in training dogs, and everything they need to learn. The illustrations fit perfectly with the story being told and really help to bring it to life. Each book in this series is just as good as the last and we definitely enjoyed this on in our household.

This book is another great adventure of Sparky. It is always nice to get to see more of this character. She is feisty and always interesting to read about. Her latest adventure is just as intriguing as the others. She has to find a way to prove Bookie was framed for murder. But with so much going on around this, it definitely turns out to be a tough challenge. This is a well written mystery story with a fun and quirky character at its centre. The book (and the series) is truly enjoyable to read and I look forward to each new book that I start. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait to read the next one in the series.

This is a really enjoyable romcom read. It is a fun, steamy second chance romance. It is a story about losing everything in your life, rebuilding your life over again in a new place and finding love when you least expect it. Kenna life falls apart in the space of one week. First she finds out her husband is cheating on her and then the promotion she worked so hard for was given to someone else. On the verge of a breakdown she takes the chance and leaves to take care of her aunty’s estate. This is where she meets her aunt’s neighbour Don. Their relationship to begin with was definately dislike at first sight. As they spend time together feelings change but they both have things they are working on. Kenna needs to work on rediscovering herself and rebuilding her life, meanwhile Don is hiding a secret a secret of his own. Will this be their second chance of a happy ever after?
This was a really enjoyable read. I loved the characters and how they communicated with each other. One thing I also loved was the story being told from the point of view of both our main characters so you get the complete story instead of a one sided story. This is definately a holiday read for me.

This book was not what I expected it to be. It follows Lea’s story loosely but catches the highlights of what really seem to shape her. I spent a lot of time thinking that I knew what was coming, only to be surprised it didn’t take the turn that I expected it to. There were also moments where I thought the story was wrapping up, only to be pleasantly surprised that it kept going. I found it interesting that someone so young and sheltered could speak so easily to thousands of people. While there are a lot of political points made, I did not find them divisive which is refreshing. All in all, it was a good read for the times that we are in.

I have so enjoyed this series. Part of my enjoyment comes from it being set in the 1920’s. It was such a different time back then. The speech, the people, all of it was so unique to us in this current time period. Not to sound like a cliche but Sparky is one of the most spunky characters I’ve met in a book this year. For a young one, she’s got the fear but she’ll protect her people and usually finds herself in trouble. This book is a wonderful mystery. So many little twists and turns make it a fun read. I like books like that. I’m bored if I can figure out the killer in the first little bit. The story is so well done. The detail and the characters really make you feel the history as you’re reading. It’s an enjoyable read. I’d recommend for lovers of historical mysteries.

Super cute, funny, and romantic beach read! Dec and Kenna are hilarious and such an interesting match up. Their unusual pairing due to Aunt Maeve’s will and the chain of events leading up to that moment get the reader hooked right from the start. So many laughs and some great romance, interesting parent dynamics and a great cast of characters makes for a great and very quick read. Makes me want to head straight to the Florida keys! Another great book from Marika Ray!

Fairy godmother-in-training, Merilee, has to fix a mess she might have accidentally caused. George’s true love is right in front of him, but he still pines for his high school sweetheart. If you are looking for a cute, grumpy/sunshine romcom that has just the right amount of spice and characters that you will fall head over heels for then look no further and grab Salt Love now. I could not put this book down and would have absolutely read it in one sitting if I didn’t have to be a responsible adult. Ray’s writing is phenomenal and her ability to develop her characters is spectacular. This is the first book I’ve read by Ray solely, but it won’t be the last. I cannot tell you how hard it was for me to put this book down when I had to adult. I loved Kenna and Dec’s story and I absolutely loved how Ray developed them as characters both individually and together. I cannot wait to pick up another of Ray’s books. In the Midst of Omens is set in a period of time where the Gods are prevalent. The main character is part God and the king of Uruk. He wants to leave an impact and be remembered after his death which has caused him to seek the future and not appreciate the present until his God mother and first wife pray for someone to help him see what he is missing while pursuing a change to his fate. The story is about finding your purpose, seeing and appreciating the present including what you already have, and admitting love for another. It’s a good story even if I did struggle with some of the names.
