I enjoyed reading this book by this author. This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed their attention to details that made the characters come to life. It made the story realistic and hard to put down. This is a well written story about the Puzzleman who pulls others into his living nightmare. A world where escape may not be possible. Do you dare go down that hole? I enjoyed the author’s creativity that made the twists and turns like no other. I enjoyed how scary this book was in parts which, for me, had me wanting to know more. There is great growth of the plot that makes the story easy to read and entertaining. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. It is a great story but if you don’t like gruesome things, it may not be for you. I highly recommend this book.

Murder a la Christie is a spinoff of the great Agatha Christie. In this book, Dr. Lexie Driscoll is a professor whose husband died in a house fire a year ago. She was left with nothing when this happened and was in a bad place not knowing where she would end up. However, she had some friends who lived in a “snobby” town with lots of secrets and had invited her to be the leader of a local mystery book club. One of the members, Sylvia, 70, has been extremely nice to Lexie and the two have built a great friendship has asked Lexie to house-sit for the summer. However, before summer, they would have their first book club meeting where the mystery begins because of Sylvia’s death. Lexie, from the start, does not believe Sylvia’s death is an accident and starts to “privately” investigate and help out Detective Donovan. No one wants to believe that a friend could have killed Sylvia because of the close-knit town they live in, but what other plausible explanation is there? Lexie starts with the guests at the book club meeting and tries to determine if the murderer is amongst them.
I don’t want to give any spoilers away so I kept the summary short. As for whether I like the book, I thought it was okay for a mystery. As for characters, there are many of them to keep track of and all the workings they each engage in. Most of the characters are exactly what you would think – distinct personalities to throw you off and make you try and solve the puzzle along with Lexie. I did find one aspect of this mystery weird and that was the romantic relationships that Lexie was building. She will entertain the idea of 2 different men in the neighborhood, but I am not sure where that all fits into the story except the parts they play in the mystery. Also, the ending, while I figured out who done it before it was announced, that wasn’t the weirdest part. The story ended with a weird exchange, to me, between her and one of her love interests, again maybe in the next book you truly come to find the reason for the romances, but I guess we will have to wait and see.

I could relate to her so much. This was a romcom that moved right up towards the top of my favorite list. The chemistry of these two had definite spark. The steam fogged my glasses up. The story was entertaining as I felt like a fly on the wall at times. I love alternating POV chapters. It makes it feel a little like an ongoing conversation. The premise of the story is totally realistic. The characters were believable and unique in their own ways. Perfect to the story. This is a romance that shouldn’t be missed. I so recommend this one.

Murder by Moonlight is the first book in the Felines of Fairytale Forest Series by K.L. Montgomery, and it was not what I expected! The book is set in a Fairytale Forest Themepark in South Carolina and Catherine (Cat) is the night shift custodian who is about to have her world rocked with a murder mystery. Cat goes to work expecting a normal night shift and is shocked to find that one of the managers has been strangled to death. Granted, no one really cared for this person, it isn’t cool that a murder has taken place! Cat thinks that it is up to her to try to solve the mystery that has happened in the Themepark. Zoe, a member of the feline group that is in the Themepark finds that her and the rest of the felines are no longer just exterminators of the unwanted pests, but now are part of helping Cat find the person responsible for the tragedy that is at hand. With the help of Zoe, and her happy go lucky co-worker Gloria, can Cat solve this mystery or will her efforts be for nothing. The only way to find out it to pick up a copy and read for yourself! Thank you, K.L. Montgomery, for building a world that has mystery, ThemeParks and most of all cats! I look forward to reading the books that are to come in the series!

I thought the title was good and figured maybe this will get me to try reading some Agatha Christie books. I enjoyed the characters and definitely enjoyed the mystery. A good summer read for those really hot days. Interesting turn when some of the book club members are murdered. What a good way to solve the book club murders using Agatha Christie books. Glad I took a chance, I’ll be reading some more mystery books soon.

What an amazing re-imagining of the great story of Gilgamesh! I was absolutely glued to this book from page one and can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. Nicole Bailey does a divine job of making her characters feel real and her writing style is superb. I especially like the relationships between Gilgamesh and the people in his life. As someone who loves ancient worlds I am in love with how Bailey portrayed this one. This was truly a breath of fresh air! Such a wonderful story!

This is the first book in the Golden Age of Mystery Book Club series. This is a great start to the series. It is a cosy mystery filled with intrigue, murder, suspense, danger and a classic who dunnit.
Lexie has been asked to talk at the first book club and the book/author she discusses is Agatha Christie. Things seems to be going well until one of her friends dies suddenly.
Now Lexie needs to put all the skills she’s read about in detective stories to uncover who the murderer is. But it is a race against time as more people start turning up dead.
Will Lexie be able to solve this mystery? And with fingers of suspicion being pointed at Lexie as well can she prove her innocence?

I loved the authors writing style and how there was a mixture of Agatha Christie’s influence mixed in with the new story. The author did a great job with the characters as well all of them are unique and a little eccentric in certain ways.
I can’t wait to see what else this series has to offer.

Percy’s Brides by Ivy Hart is the first book I have read by this author, and I found it to be a sweet story of a man who has to choose between two completely different woman to build a life with. We are introduced to Percy, who is the main character and is the owner of a local hardware store and has yet to find true love to build his future with. Percy’s life takes an interesting turn when Clara, a mail order bride enters into the town and catches Percy’s interest. Percy is pleased to find that he and Clara share a lot of interest in the same type of things they would like in the future. Just when Percy thinks everything is going well, his world takes an interesting turn when Amelia, another mail order bride enters into his life. Amelia has her mind set on marrying Percy, but she is nothing like Clara and Percy has no idea on what to do or which lady to choose. Unfortunately, disaster strikes at the coal mine in town and Percy has to push all ideas of love out of his mind for the time being. This was a short, sweet and quick read that you will breeze through trying to find out if Percy chooses Clara or Ameilia. To me this book gave Little House on the Prairie vibes with its tale of life, love and the many conflicts that can be faced with prairie life. I hope that you pick a copy and find out for yourself!

After months of waiting for this book to come out, I finally got my hands on it and it was just as good as the others. Lynn is the youngest and only girl in her family, but she’s got a good head on her shoulders and a set career path she’s working on. She has four overprotective brothers and she is trying to prove to them that she doesn’t need protecting. She meets a baseball player while interning for the Summer selling hotdogs, and he seems to tick all of her boxes and be perfect for her, despite her not being into sports at all. Yet he messes up a couple times and runs her off, and she tries to keep him at a distance but fate keeps bringing them back together. Even Joey mentions his mom was big on signs and he kept getting them when it came to Lynn. It takes some effort to win Lynn back over, and he has to learn to not be as protective as her brothers, even tho it’s in his nature. Great banter and chemistry in this story and there’s even a conclusion to all the things that have been going wrong throughout all the books, including their family’s missing sentimental sasquatch totem. Love this series and author. Will always pick up a book when I see Sylvie’s name connected.

I so wasn’t ready to let go of Mariella and her family’s story so I was grateful for this 2nd installment. I have always found it fascinating how immigrants brought so much to their new homes especially in the mid to late 20th century so this story really intrigued me. Highly recommended!

What an interesting book! Maddy is a 17 year old girl who always follows the rules. Always. All of them. Her grandmother gives her a DNA test for her 17th birthday. She’s less than excited about it. If she’s not adopted, why should she care where she came from? Her mom finally has to threaten making her stay home from a football game to get her to actually take the test. When they get the results back it says she’s one quarter villain! But she’s the good girl! When her best friend goes missing, she is thrown into a world of adventure she never expected. Can villains have a happy ending? Definitely grab this book and find out!! It’s not your typical fairy tale story and I loved it!

Double Delight (Double Delight) is two short stories that will have you turning the pages till the end. These stories are hot and steamy . I pretty much devoured this book in one afternoon because I couldn’t stop reading. There’s just the right amount of steam, drama, chemistry and so much more. April Love is a virgin who is about to get more than she expected when her high-school crush offers to teach her a few things. Both are in for eye opening experience. Can these two have a relationship?
Monica’s Manhunt
Monica is on the hunt for a husband, but this time she’s being picky especially after her first marriage was a bust. Matt is the best man of his friends up coming wedding and isn’t really the marrying type. Can these two have what they both want and need in a relationship? I highly recommend reading this book (boxset) to find out how everything turns out. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Stout of My League is the fourth book in the Love on Tap series by Sylvie Stewart. I have loved reading my way through this series, so there was no doubt that I would be diving into this one as soon as it hit my Kindle. And I am happy to report that Ms. Stewart didn’t disappoint here, in fact, this is now my favourite of the series (but I think I have said that with every instalment 😊).
This is a fun romcom with a forbidden romance element, baseball, family dynamics, forced proximity, humour, funny quips, banter, antics, chemistry, sizzle, family, angst, drama, mystery, secrets, surprising developments, and emotion. The humour and banter here were nicely balanced by emotion and all the sweet and tender touches that I have come to expect from Ms. Stewart.
Even though we knew Lynn from previous books, we hadn’t really gotten that much information about her- so it was great to finally get to know her well. I loved Lynn and Joey from the outset, so it was easy to become invested with them and the outcome of the story.
I really recommend this book, and series- and highly suggest that you read the other 3 books in the series (if you haven’t already done so) before starting on this one, as there are spoilers contained within.
Looking forward to whatever Ms. Stewart delivers next.

This was a fun, cozy read featuring Lexie. She loves a good mystery and can’t help herself when a member of her local book club is murdered. She takes it upon herself to investigate and try to find the culprit. In the meantime, other people around here are dropping like flies. Can she solve this mystery before it’s too late?

This author is a great storyteller! She references Agatha Christie a few times. These references flew over my head as I’ve never read any of her work (I need to fix that, right?!?!). However since reading this, I want to go and pick up some Christie and see what I’ve been missing.

I’m looking forward to more of Lexie and her adventures.

Who knew a toaster fire could be a love match potential? Libby has barely settled in Woodvalley Pines when her toaster spontaneously catches fire. This summons a flock of hot firemen who unfortunately catch her in pink Disney pajamas. She may look like a crazy lady accusing them of keeping toaster safety a secret but firefighter Zach finds her adorable. Seeing as how he has seen her in an embarrassing scene, would she be willing to let him get to know her on a more personal level? This was a feel good, small town romance with great humor. I enjoy romcoms and the laughter they bring. If you need a good laugh I definitely recommend this book.

This story continues from Greetings from Asbury Park and picks up 9 years later. The war is over, Jack and Mariella are married and ready to start their new lives. Even though is pains her, Mariella moves across the ocean to be with her husband in a country where she knows nobody. When she gets a heartbreaking call she returns to Italy, but will she be able to leave her family again? It was hard the first time, but a second time will be devastating. This was a great continuation of Jack and Mariella’s story. Even though this is a series either book can be read as a standalone.

Like many young people back then, our main character, Mariella, has to be mature beyond her years. She meets a nice young GI, Jack, who has very little time left to spend in Italy. He is about to shipped to Japan but they make the most of their time. Before he heads off they exchange addresses and a promise to keep in touch. Will they be able to endure the time and distance? I enjoyed the characters and how this story was written. The characters are very likeable and their story draws you into their world. I’m looking forward to the continuation of Mariella and Jack’s story.

I hadn’t read a book by this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover caught my eye immediately, and once I read the synopsis, I knew I had to pick it up. Everything about it seemed to intrigue me, so I got home and dove right in. This author made my watch list in just one book! Their ability to create such an imaginative world with amazingly detailed features is incredible! The characters are relatable, unique, and very well developed. Will Maddie be able to save her best friend while dealing with a sort of existential crisis? I will give zero spoilers! I blew through this entire book in one day because it was absolutely addictive. This definitely should be at the top of any YA/fantasy reader’s list because it is unbelievably captivating. I highly recommend this book as it allows you to escape to another world and experience what’s happening instead of just reading on the sidelines.

I wasn’t sure how much I’d like this book as I didn’t think it could be as good as the first one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was wrong because this book absolutely surpassed my expectations. I truly loved Jack and Mariella in the first book, so I enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve even further. There was even more emotion, turmoil, and drama included, so prepare yourself in advance! You may be able to read this as a standalone, but I think it would be a mistake to miss out on the background of Jack and Mariella. They’ve been on quite a journey before this story, and while the author tries to provide as much information they can as a catch-up, it can only contain so much. I highly recommend this book and this series, so pick it up and get lost in a historical romance for the weekend!

This was such a beautiful and emotional story! It is set in World War II which is apparent in the way the author portrays amazing imagery with their words. The character development is quite incredible as they are relatable even from a different time period. Mariella is a teenager, but like so many during WWII, she was forced to be very mature for her age. Jack is a nice soldier that gives her hope until he gets stationed far away. While my heart felt squeezed through many of these pages, I still highly recommend it. If you enjoy historical fiction with romance and drama, please pick this up and give it a chance! I am eager to read the next book in the series.

What’s a fairy tale without a villain? This is the first book I have read by the imaginative and amazing Cori Cooper, and I kick myself for not reading one sooner. Officially one of my new favorite authors of 2024 and one of my new favorite books.
Maddy is like me, always follows the rules, ALL OF THEM. Never doing anything outside of them. At least that was before the gift that changed everything. Every teenager thinks about their birthday and getting closer to being an “adult”, but Maddy’s seventeenth birthday changed everything. Grams got her a DNA test. Strange but okay she’d always wanted to do one and now was her chance to finally know what she was made of. How is that even tested for and what does it all mean. Living your life dreaming about happily ever after and then being told you’re a quarter villain makes Maddy question everything. Is it even possible to have a happy ending when you’re a villain? Just as she was trying to understand what she was her best friend Leo is banished to another realm. Once again everything changes but she is ready to do anything to get Leo back, even if it means being a villain.
How can the villain save someone? Is Leo her happy ever after she always dreamed of? What does “being a villain” truly mean for Maddy? The world the author creates is breathtaking. The way she weaves different fairy tale aspects together but also brings in some modern-day elements and truly brings this world to life. Maddy’s journey leading to the test and navigating the results is inspiring. Just because your DNA says your something doesn’t mean that’s what you’re destined to be. I truly cannot wait to see what Maddy and Leo conquer next.

Wasabi by C.A. King was a brilliant ending to her Evil Sushi Series. From the beginning these books have been quirky, fun, and engaging. I love the humor that King brings to not only this series but a lot of her other books as well. I will never hesitate to pick up a C.A. King book because I know it will be a gem. That being said, the Evil Sushi series is unlike anything you’ve ever read! I highly recommend giving it a try!

I love reading anything by this author! This book kept my attention from the start, when I was worried for Helo when she was caught stealing and finding out about her PTSD. I appreciated the care Chaz, the Wretched Souls MC Prez, shows for Helo. As I was reading, I worried a bit for Helo as the guys find out she has a large bounty out on her. But the guys don’t disappoint their Prez or Helo. What a great story and a happy connection for two souls who didn’t think they’d ever find a soul mate.

This is my first book I have read by this author. She didn’t disappoint. The author grabs your attention from the very beginning. The story had me on edge and had me kept reading to know what happened next. This is definitely a page turner. If you love a suspenseful romance, I highly recommend reading this book.

The first story is April Love and its the story of April Brooks who is a 28 year old who has just left her cheating boyfriend. She is also a virgin. She has always had a crush on a guy named Will Shepard and she has decided he will be the one to take her virginity. He gladly accepts and decides to give her lessons beforehand. In the second book Monica’s Manhunt, Monica has decided she needs to settle down and find her a partner. While she is hunting she is also doing wedding things for her boss who is getting married. While working on the wedding stuff she has to work alongside the best man Matt. They begin to feel major chemistry between each other but realize they want different things. Matt is a player and Monica wants to settle down can Matt change his ways? There are both sweet love stories that are a joy to read.
