The Husbands by Naomi Valkyrie. This is such a good read. Its fairly short but it packs a big punch. Its the story of Dorian who is a married assassin and he’s really good at his job. One night in Miami he is set to take a kill shot and someone walks in front of him and is accidentally hit. His name is Augustine and he is so shocked. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time is Augustine’s life story. He ends up in the hospital and Dorian who takes on odd jobs at different time is assigned as Augustine’s physical therapist. Spending so much time together even thought they are both married to women they realize there is a real chemistry between them. Years later their wives become friends and they are thrown together again. While their wives become best friends they are together more and more and the feelings come racing back. Not being able to hide it the wives are bound to find out. What will happen when it does come out? Will their marriages survive or will they finally take a chance on being together?
Opposite Day for Dinopotamus by Lois Wickstrom was such a good book! My girls love all of her books so I knew this would be a great one for them. As always, such a cute story and easy for toddlers to follow!

Holy Smoke! This book just pulled me in and those last few chapters? I could NOT PUT this book DOWN until I reached the end. While its a soft ending( because there is another book) I did get some answers but after reading the acknowledgements….I think the next one will be crazier and dare I say scarier. This one has a lot of unknown and there were many moments where I had chills and was enthralled, scared (just like the characters) and looking for untrustworthy words from them all.
This is one suspenseful story! This is book 2 of the series and I highly suggest reading the first as this one takes place right after and there are many references to what previously happened. Looking forward to the next book as I am eager for all the answers on that house.
I am just sitting here going Wow! Just Wow! I hope I don’t have nightmares but dang what a good book!

Marder Mystery, amusement park, and cats! What a combo, but this book was great! This is book one in the series and boy was it enough to hook you in and be left wanting more! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I loved how different it was! The felines and the cleaning staff keep the Fairytale Forest theme park clean and rodent free. When a night shift worker named Cat (Catherine) follows Zoe (one of the cats) to the park’s main street, they find a manager strangled to death. Of course her 50 year old self and her friend Gloria are at the top of the suspect list. Just having a complaint against them didn’t help. With the help of her new feline friends, Cat must solve this murder! She has to clear her name. Yeah she didn’t like the lady, but she didn’t hate her so much that she’d kill her!! Working with cats to solve a murder. These ladies can’t resist a good mystery, but will they walk right into the murderers clutches as they investigate. Who will die next?! This book will have you not wanting to put it down! I kind of thought about who the killer would be and it was in my top few, but it was still so good. Sometimes I can guess the killer and other times I am left guessing! I loved it! Can’t wait to read more to the series!!

It has been a while since I have read any of the books in this series and this book did a fantastic job at reminding me just how much I enjoyed it. I instantly connected to this story and loved getting to know the characters. I was drawn to Parker with ease and I wanted to see how things would turn out. The story is an interesting one that develop naturally as it progressed. This author has a writing style that I always enjoy and this book, and series, is a big part of why. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a contemporary romance set in the 80s/90s. It is a very moving story and has plenty of drama and angst as well as dealing with topics such as addiction. The authors character development was great and I really felt drawn into the lives of Nick and Dani. Both of them have had a rough start in life but they found comfort and love and a sense of safety with each other at a young age. Fast forward and Nick is now part of a band just like he dreamed off and with Dani now old enough she leaves and follows his tour disgused as a groupie. However the Nick she knew has changed and what is in his place is a man who fully embraced the rock and roll life, including the drinking, drugs and women. With Nick being in a constant brain fog he has no idea that the young girl he fell in love with all those years ago is right in front of him. After Dani witnessed Nick going through several relapses she decides to follow her dream and with the aid of Nick’s band she starts to make her own way in the music world. However her heart never leaves Nick. Can she save him the way he saved her all those years ago? How will he react when he realises just who Dani is and why she seems to familiar to him? Will the love they once shared still exist or does the Nick that Dani knew before the game, partying and drugs not exist anymore? This is an emotional and at times heartbreaking story but will love and music bring them together while addiction is trying to tear them apart.
Salt Love by Marika Ray – Review by Karrie Sears This one was hard to put down! From the beginning of the book with Kenna in the board room meeting, the first few days of meeting Dec, I couldn’t help but laugh at some of those moments and banter. The way that Kenna transforms from a quiet pushover to regaining control and grabbing life by the horns and standing up for what she wants in life is inspiring. Marika Ray ranks up there like Emily Henry, Tessa Bailey and Katherine Center in this steamy rom com. She’s going to be a definite favorite to read if you like these other authors. One Quarter Villain by Cori Cooper – Review by Karrie Sears At first I didn’t think I was going to get into this book. After about 3 chapters it was growing on me, then when the fairy tale twists started coming into the book, I was hooked. It was a whimsical play on all the fairy tales I grew up reading. By the time it realized I was at the end of the book, I wanted more. I cannot wait to see what Cori Cooper does with Maddy and Leo in the future. The surprised realization by Leo at the end had me giggling when he figured it out. Definitely a wholesome easy read for YA fans. I thoroughly enjoyed this charming and entertaining mystery novel by Byrd Nash. The story is a delightful blend of humor, intrigue, and ghostly encounters, set in a beautifully described 18th-century French setting. The author’s description of the French setting, including the lavish feasts and opulent surroundings, is mouthwatering and immersive.
Elinor, the protagonist, is a refreshingly different detective. Her skills as a medium and her ability to communicate with the dead make her a compelling and intriguing character. The witty banter and dialogue between Elinor and Tristan is clever and engaging, with a delightful playfulness that adds to the story’s charm.
One thing I didn’t enjoy as much was some sections of the book feel a bit rushed, while others drag on for too long. A more consistent pace would improve the overall flow.

Wasabi is the highly anticipated third instalment in Evil Sushi series by the very talented C.A King. I loved the first two books, Evil Sushi, and Sashimi so much- as they were such an original and fun read, so I was really excited when this arrived on my Kindle. After loving the first two books as much as I did, I admit that I had really high expectations for this instalment, and I am glad to say that Ms. King didn’t let me down, delivering an engrossing read. I am excited to find that there will be more evil food coming, with ‘Strawberry Fields Dismembered’ coming next. Can’t wait to see what it holds. As with the first two books, this has such an original and clever story, really unlike anything I have read before. It is a mash-up of paranormal, sci-fi, horror, dystopia, action, adventure, thriller, mystery, and suspense. With environmental issues, mutations, agendas, danger, evil food, and all the intrigue and dramatic developments that you need to keep you hooked right till the very end. We started with Evil Sushi, then followed up with Sashimi- and what better to pair with sushi and sashimi than ‘Wasabi’- you’ll see how great it goes with all that evil sea food in Books #1 & 2. So get set for a fun and quirky ride, with a little side order of horror to keep things interesting. You don’t necessarily have to read the first two books in the series to fully appreciate this one, but I recommend that you do so that you have all the intriguing details on board which will enhance your reading experience of this engrossing instalment. (There are interconnected details and elements that span the series- building a ‘bigger picture’) As expected from Ms. King, this was a really imaginative, wonderfully detailed, and well written story that wouldn’t let me put it down until I had devoured every word. I would love to have read an even longer, more in-depth, and expanded version of this book, as this was over way too quickly for my liking (but in a great way, as I was fully immersed in the story). Oh, I loved getting another look into this world. Getting to see how these two had to live was kind of like seeing how some have to live in today’s world. It was and engaging story that me rooting for these two to be able to maintain their relationship. It’s not easy in their world. I have enjoyed this saga. It’s nice that it’s a standalone. You should read the others also; they are just as good. This was a book worth ready. There’s lots of drama, romance and action.
This was a very interesting book. I dove into it because the synopsis sounded interesting and the cover was beautiful. I was not disappointed. i found the story kept me totally engaged. I had never heard of of this myth so this was quite new. The Beauty and the Beast retelling was cool. The characters were quite fascinating. There’s a bit of everything in here. It was a entertaining read.

I fell in love with both of these books. There is steam in both to go with some well-written romance stories. They are both well-done. The characters are so relatable. I found myself diving in because it felt like I was reading about friends. I didn’t want to put it down. It’s got some drama and lots of chemistry. I highly recommend you read this.
Salt Love by Marika Ray turned out to be a fun romantic comedy about second chances and finding love unexpectedly. Mixing chemistry, a little spice, some humour, adventure, a sprinkle of angst & drama, a splash of emotion, two endearing characters, sunshine, and salt- and Ms. Ray delivers a winning recipe. If you love entertaining romcoms, with plenty of plot mixed in with your spice, then you will definitely want to dive into this story asap. Happy Reading…

What a great, wholesome read. This is the second book in the Madame Chalamet series. This book takes us on a trip to another high ranking person where his estate is featuring all the guest and a food competition among 4 different chefs. The king gets poisoned during this time. Madame Chalamet is getting better with her trade and with her detective work helping the Duke. Could we be seeing a glimpse of a love between Madame Chalamet and the Duke? The end of this book teases of this so we shall see in the next book if the comes to fruition. Can’t wait to start book 3!

This is the third book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the previous two books. I have enjoyed reading this author’s books from the first one I picked up. I enjoy their writing style and their ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease. They keep me turning pages fast to the end. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story about Elinor and her ghost talking skills. She is determined to find out who killed her father. She takes you on a journey of mystery and one you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed her character and what she brought to the story. This is an easy and entertaining story to read. There is great growth throughout the plot and characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend reading this book
I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is a book by a newer author . I enjoyed their attention to details that made the characters come to life on every page. This made the story easy to read along with the emotional roller coaster they took me on. I enjoyed how I was pulled into the story from the start by the characters. They are relatable and connectable. I had no problem picturing myself with them. This is a story about healing from trauma and loss. Hailey and Loch are great characters who have great chemistry and growth throughout the story. They had me turning pages fast just to see what would happen to them and if they would find their HEA. I really enjoyed what they brought to the story. This is a story you don’t want to miss for sure. I highly recommend this book.

Ten Little Sea Turtles is an adorable children’s book. The rhyming makes it really fun to read, and the illustrations are so bright and colorful and fun! The story is filled with fun facts, so it is educational as well. This would be great for preschool through young elementary school. While I read and enjoyed it as a kindle version, I would much rather have a paper copy to show my kiddo as I read aloud.

This was a really super cute children’s book, that my kids absolutely loved. The book was very well illustrated, and it went well with every animal and snoot that went with what was on the page. It was done in alphabetical order from A – Z. it had super cute facts and some fun little facts on each page that my kids loved to hear about, they even loved to figure out if they could guess which animal I was going to be. This is a great fun book that all kids will enjoy, it was a great learning experience for them and all in fun.

Murder by Moonlight is the first book in the Felines of Fairytale Forest Series. This is a Cozy Mystery that is perfect for curling up on the couch on a rainy day. I was hooked from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. I literally read in one afternoon only because with this author I can’t ever stop reading I have to know what is going to happen next. This author is one of my favorites and I’ve read several by her. This one is definitely going on my books to reread at a later time. This story takes place at an Amusement Park where one person is found dead. Can they find the Killer ? Can she solve this Mystery and clear her name? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Another great read as this is a continuation of Greetings from Asbury Park: A World War Two love story. This second book may be read as a standalone. The author does a great job of catching the reader up on the events of the first book.
Jack and Mariella are finally in the US. It’s not the easiest transition for Mariella as she’s left her family behind in Rome. Jack’s mom isn’t the most welcoming mother-in-law either. Mariella struggles to find her place in the US, while severely missing her family. Will she be able to find a balance and happiness in her new life?
This is another emotionally tugging read that you won’t want to put down!

I’m a fan of historical reads, those set in the WWII area, and ones that have a bit of romance. This is the perfect combination!
Jack and Mariella’s story tugged at my heart strings just a bit. There story isn’t necessarily original but it’s their story and it matters. This author did such a great job of weaving the story, that it was as if I was there watching it all play out in person. The emotions are raw and real and you’ll find yourself not wanting to put this book down until it’s finished!

Yes Yes Yes!!! All I can say I loved this book. Manda Mellett never disappoints and they way she writes her MC series’….just the best. Fire Meets Fire is Book 2 in the Wretched Soulz series and I cannot recommend this book enough..but definitely start the series from beginning. The danger, secrets, action with some twists…..loved this book.
As a club president, Chaz has to ensure the club is tip top shape….including making sure business is in order. When something sneaky is going on…Chaz is set out to find out who is responsible for the theft. What Chaz did not expect is it to be a woman….he is angry but intrigued. Who is this woman…. Helo is methodical…thinking there is nothing wrong from taking from the Wretched Soulz…but she has another thing coming. What does Chaz and the MC do in this situation…normally if she was a man, they would be punished by death. Being a fierce woman…..Chaz is intrigued by her while not looking for any relationship. He wants to protect Helo… and Helo challenges Chaz…what will become of Chaz and Helo….

Wasabi is the third book in the Evil Sushi series. You should definitely read this series in order, starting with Evil Sushi and then Sashimi. It’s a nautical and food-themed apocalyptic story that’s original and captivating!
Wasabi is shorter than the other books, and I feel like we could have had more time learning about the monstrous plant and how it connected with the creatures and mutants we’ve encountered in the earlier books. I like how this book feels particularly apocalyptic as the characters try to make it as the last few survivors in a dangerous world.
It was good to see the characters I’ve gotten to know developing further in this book. My favourites Rod and Ned get plenty of chances to shine again in this one!
Wasabi gets four stars from me. I’d recommend the series to readers who enjoy unconventional paranormal stories! When I reviewed the first book I said you’d probably be ok to eat vegetarian sushi while you read it – I take that back! Even plants are dangerous!

Delicious Death (Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Book 2) by Byrd Nash. This is such a fun book. I loved the first one so I knew I would enjoy this one as well. I knew my kiddos and I would love this book the moment I saw it, but I definitely underestimated just how much we would love it! I brought it along with us to a dentist appointment because I figured it may lighten the mood a little bit or at the very least it would be a distraction. We were all giggling at the guessing games and then ooh-ing and ahh-ing at all of the educational facts! Time flew by at the dentist which I must say is an absolute first for us. You’ll get to walk through the alphabet and learn about each animal as well as get to boop their snoots. I am so happy to have found this gem. I highly recommend to anyone with young ones in their lives whether that is at school, daycare, or at home. I’m definitely older than the target audience but still enjoyed every single page!

Sashimi is the second book in the Evil Sushi series. You should definitely read this series in order, starting with Evil Sushi. It’s a nautical and food-themed apocalyptic story that’s original and captivating!
Sashimi centres around an expedition to find and potentially eliminate the monsters that emerge in Evil Sushi. There is plenty of seasickness on this voyage, as they battle unpredictably stormy conditions. There’s also lots of interpersonal drama which the close quarters of the ship amplifies. Every character has their own agenda and they jostle for power and control.
It’s great seeing the characters develop across this series. Rod and Ned are my favourites, and in Sashimi we see them showing off their skills at the helm of a ship and creating gadgets to help find the monsters.
Sashimi gets five stars from me.I’d recommend the series to readers who enjoy unconventional paranormal stories! But maybe don’t eat sushi while you read…

3.5 stars An interesting concept to teaching children opposite words. Aimed for children ages 4-8 the colourful illustrations make it easier for them to understand and pick up. Opposite Day for Dinopotamus is interactive and interesting making learning fun for kids. Read along as Dinopotamus and children have fun with Opposite’s Day and learn as they go each in their own way. Whilst my four year old grandson had some trouble determining opposite’s my seven year old grandson was getting the hang of it by the story ended. As always Lois’s books are good for anyone to enjoy from family, schools and libraries just to name a few.

Fire Meets Fire: Wretched Soulz MC by Manda Mellett. This is one of my favorite authors so I always pick up her books and this one was no different. Its such a good story. Its the story of the President of the Wretched Soulz MC club, Chaz and his friend Helo. Helo has had a lot of trauma in her past so she is pretty much just broken. Chaz is a womanizer and thinks he’s superior to all women. He’s used to be a love them and leave them kind of guy but Helo is definitely not the one night stand type. Chaz can’t keep from thinking about Helo and he doesn’t know what to do with it. They both have amazing stories that will keep you turning the pages and wondering if they can make it work. I love the way this author writes to the point where I feel like I am in the book and living with the characters. Such a good read!
