10 Days by KJ Holliday – Review by Kandy Garrett

10 Days10 Days by KJ Holliday
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was much more than I expected it to be.
There was some pretty funny parts dealing with a city boy and how things are out in the wild and his overall take on it was pretty accurate from what this country girl would imagine.
There was a great flow to the way this book was read, drama and conflict were few and far between for the most part, but boy when it was there it was THERE!
I will definitely be looking for more titles by KJ Holiday!

Heartbeats and Roses (Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson – Review by Kandy Garrett

Heartbeats and Roses: A Small Town Valentine's Day Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance)Heartbeats and Roses: A Small Town Valentine’s Day Romance by Jae Dawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book, more than I anticipated. It captured and held my attention through the entire thing.
The characters were relatable and the way Jae writes about this town makes me want to plan a trip to Washington!

All the quirks that Rose has cracked me up and made me love her that much more and learning of her one weakness made me giggle.

I didn’t want to like Liam, I tried really hard not to like him, too. It wasn’t easy and I wasn’t successful. His story hit a little close to home so I felt like I couldn’t dislike him even though I really wanted to.

AND NOW I want to have a Candlelit Dance under the tree, and I don’t even have a tree I could dance under!

Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye – Review by Kandy Garrett

Happily Ever AfterHappily Ever After by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So far I have read Marie Skye’s entry of Don’t Worry I Still Hate You!

This was so much different than I expected and I shouldn’t even be surprised because that is exactly what Marie does to you while she is writing.
She has this ability to suck you in and lead you on and all is well, until it isn’t! It’s unexpected and saucy and everything it needs to be when you get to the final words.
The characters were very well constructed and it was a pretty quick read that had a great ebb and flow to it.
Now to go get the rest of the stories!

Unwrapped by Evelyn Sola – Review by Kandy Garrett

UnwrappedUnwrapped by Evelyn Sola
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was not at all what I thought it would be. I honestly was surprised at the turn it took and once it started I couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters, the setting was very well done, and it was pretty easy to read, it had a nice flow. There were some great dramatic moments with the families and because it’s around a major holiday I think that made them even more believable and some of the situations are one’s that are honest to goodness horrifying to a new couple in your downstairs apartment in your parents home! HA!
I hope to see more written about Andrew or maybe Joe.

Starvation by Molly Fennig – Review by Kandy Garrett

StarvationStarvation by Molly Fennig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not even 50% in and I am bawling my eyes out. Not only are the characters fantastically written, their emotions pour out on the pages, I can’t stop.
This is a gut wrenching story of tragedy, coping, friendship and family.

There is good in all things, even tragedy. We don’t all see it the same way, we don’t all learn the same thing, and we don’t all see any good ever, tragedy or not.
I am speechless, heartbroken, but still speechless.
Molly does one heck of a job getting into this topic right from the start and she holds you there until the very last sentence. Very well done.
