I read this book to my grandson. He enjoyed it. I enjoyed the storyline as it made him ponder why Dinopotamus’ spot was a big warm spot and the other kids had smaller spots. It was a cute quick read before bedtime. The illustrations are great. Another great Dinopotamus book to add to your collection.

This book has a great storyline and rhyming words. The illustrations are fantastic and well done. This book definitely demonstrates a team effort to help someone accomplish a goal. As I was reading it to my grandson before bedtime he giggled at the story and liked it. It’s a great easy read for bedtime, naptime or anytime. Definitely recommend this book.
The Orange Forest Rabbit Mysteries by Lois June Wickstrom

In this book we follow Gregory, his wife Jennifer and their puppy Robes Pierre on 3 mystery adventures. This chapter book is a good YA book for older grade school children and even middle schoolers. The adventures that happen are well written and detailed that you can use your imagination to make the story come “alive” in your mind. Each of the mysteries are well thought out and detailed to further the storyline from the first mystery. Even though there is no pictures in this book, it’s definitely one that can read to little ones or even helping out reading skills.

While this is the fourth book in a series, it also can be read as a standalone. For fans of the Percy Jackson books, this one is similar and you’ll find yourself drawn into it and enjoying the storyline like I did. I’ll definitely be reading the other books in this series. It’s a great YA read for middle schoolers. Tally and her dad are vacationing in Greece. Tally makes a couple new friends and has an interesting adventure. There were some surprising twists I never thought to imagine! Definitely recommend this book.
This Time Around by Kimberly Packard

When I first started this this book, it seemed meh. Then I got really into it and made me think, what I would do if I was transported back to my senior year in high school? Would I make changes to affect my future self? This was a great story. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. The story line was well written and thought out. Even though Josie made some slight adjustments that affected the future, it righted itself out in the end. She wasn’t the hormonal teenager who wasn’t thinking about anything but what she had going on in her life. She used that 40-something year old to thoughtfully make decisions. While she was dearly missing her children, you could definitely tell the shift in the book when she wasn’t as fretful over getting back to them and focused on the last couple of months of her senior year. She has the same Aubrey and Ben. Maybe even the happier ever after part. I cannot wait to see what may come next after this book. Definitely going to keep an eye out on future books.
The Amanda Mini-Mysteries by Lois Wickstrom

Amanda and, her friend, Elaine go through a series of science experiments. This book goes through twelve different experiments and does a wonderful job explaining things. At the end of each it explains how or why it did or didn’t work. The experiment with the magnet I did laugh at the magnet on her head. There are some bigger words than younger children would know or fully understand, but easy enough to explain them if need be. This is such a fantastic read for little ones with curious minds on how things work.
Raccoon Reunion by Terri Sabol

In this cute little book for kids, you find Rocky the raccoon scared of going to his family reunion. This is suck a great book to help ease little ones anxiety over going to a family gathering with a crowd of people they don’t know. Rocky is shy at first but then he comes up with a great idea to help the family out and he finds out him and his cousin get along great. In the end they can’t wait to see each other again. The book shows kids how just stepping outside their comfort zone for a moment can help teach them that they can make friends and even become close to family members for a lifetime friend. Definitely recommend this book for anyone who has children who get anxious or nervous about meeting new people
Oscar and Emmy Weather a Hurricane by Terri Sabol

In the book, twins Abby and Charlie,help their mom and dad get ready for the hurricane. They also make sure their cats, Oscar and Emmy, are safe and well taken care of in the event of a major disaster. This book is well written and great illustrations. The facts in the back about Hurricane Harvey is a nice touch. The checklist that’s provided for things to have ready in case of an emergency for pets is great. That can be utilized for any number of emergency situations.
A quick read for little ones who may get anxious when it comes to storms to help calm their fears. Definitely a great teaching tool for little ones.

The Puppy Adventures of Porter and Midge: Out and About by Giselle Nevada

In the book it shows how CJ and Lora are trying to be responsible pet owners and it does a great job at that. Helping children understand that there is more to owning a dog than just playing with them is wonderful! The fact that the story shows CJ and Lora taking Porter and Midge to the vet and socializing them and getting both dogs comfortable in any environment or situation is amazing. Involving children at a young age in caring, teaching and sharing responsibility for a pet is a great thing. The checklist at the end of the book is a great resource for children to use and can see how much they have achieved in the training journey from when they first started with the puppy training.

From the start I was hooked into the book. It’s a very well written fairytale romance and just a touch of suspense to keep the reader fully submerged into the story. I could feel George’s sadness and despair pining over a possible “one that got away”. Then seeing George open his heart to love made my heart swoon. Even though this book is part of a series, it’s written well enough that it can be read as a standalone also. I cannot wait to see what happens next for this book series

Beautiful colors and well written. Easy read for little ones before bed, nap time or anytime. The tidbits of information on Starfish to help jump start knowledge on little ones is fantastic. I like that fact there is a song that can be played even if you’re not reading the book. Definitely one I’ll be reading to my littles.

This one was hard to put down! From the beginning of the book with Kenna in the board room meeting, the first few days of meeting Dec, I couldn’t help but laugh at some of those moments and banter. The way that Kenna transforms from a quiet pushover to regaining control and grabbing life by the horns and standing up for what she wants in life is inspiring. Marika Ray ranks up there like Emily Henry, Tessa Bailey and Katherine Center in this steamy rom com. She’s going to be a definite favorite to read if you like these other authors. I really hope there is another sequel to this book to see what happens. Maybe Harley and Liz this time??

One Quarter Villain by Cori Cooper – Review by Karrie Sears
At first I didn’t think I was going to get into this book. After about 3 chapters it was growing on me, then when the fairy tale twists started coming into the book, I was hooked. It was a whimsical play on all the fairy tales I grew up reading. By the time it realized I was at the end of the book, I wanted more. I cannot wait to see what Cori Cooper does with Maddy and Leo in the future. The surprised realization by Leo at the end had me giggling when he figured it out.
Definitely a wholesome easy read for YA fans.
