Ever meet that person you could really see yourself in a relationship with, but it is just horrible timing? For Sophie and Guillaume that certainly seems to be the case. The two fight their attraction while wanting more since they are working together. Needing a break, Sophie travels with Guillaume to his family’s home. Will Sophie find the break she is looking for? Will Sophie and Guillaume act on there feelings toward each other?

This is the first book by Katy Hunter that I have read. While I had a hard time emerging myself into the story in the beginning, that quickly changed and I enjoyed the book. The characters were relatable; there were times you want to laugh with them, cry with them, even shake some sense into them. What more could you ask for? I look forward to reading more by Hunter and would recommend reading this book.

This was such a good book to read for a break! Sophie even took a break! She’s a highly rated actress who has been non-stop working for her career. Gil, her actor friend who slowly starts to become more, convinces her to do the break. They go to France! During the break, romance begins and twists and llamas are involved. Take a look for yourself as you’ll love it too!

I read this book in an afternoon! Its an incredible, but not basic, romance story! The author did a wonderful job of giving us realistic characters who face twists and turns throughout the story. Jeremy and Regan had such a good connection and I kept wanting to read more. If you like contemporary romance novels, I suggest this book!

Sophie and Gil are costarring in a movie together but have vowed to keep things in the “friend zone” even though the movie involves a lot of intimacy. After the movie wraps, things change and “G” and “Shee” take off to London to spend the summer with G’s family. My favorite part of the story was reading about Tornado, the llama!

I did not really enjoy this book, except for the previously mentioned llama. Maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s that I don’t use or appreciate the language used, or that the “romantic” scenes were way overdone and were really the focus of the entire book. The book seemed to be set up to read as a diary of sorts and at times I felt that vibe. Other times it seemed all over the place in terms of structure. I found Sophie to be way too immature and the matchup between her and Gil was almost comical at times to me. His family was a mess, but so was her’s as well. I guess I expected something with a little more sustenance to it.

I do think that those who enjoy reading social media posts and those who get wrapped up in the world of entertainment would find this book enjoyable. Maybe those of a younger mindset as well, although I’m sure that others could also find it enjoyable. Had I personally read this as a teenager/early 20’s, I’m sure my outlook would have been much different.

This was a book by a new author to me. I thought she did a really great job with this book. I did find the first couple of chapters to be a little slow, but once I got past that I couldn’t put it down. My emotions were conflicted while reading this book but in the end all that took place in the story was perfect for the ending. This was filled with romance, major bumps in the road, and a lot of humor. I found myself really rooting for the characters in the end. I wasn’t disappointed with this read and look forward to reading the next installment in the series.

This is my first book from this author and I’ll definitely look for more. Now honestly I did find I had a bit of a tough time really sinking into Sophie and Gil’s story. I just didn’t feel that strong pull. But if given the chance I think you’ll find it’s a good story even if it’s a bit slow on the start. I definitely laughed and did enjoy the storyline. Just give it a chance it does get better not that the beginning is bad it just felt a little slower in my view. I am definitely excited to see what other books this author has to offer. Four stars and definitely recommended!

This is the first book in the Mixed Emotions series and also the first book I have read by this author. This was such an emotional read for me. Sophie and Gil are both in the acting industry and have been friends for a long time. Finishing up a movie together, they find out that they are each attracted to the other and take that next step. They go to France to meet Gil’s family and what a ride from there. Can they overcome their issues and make it work? Will Sophie’s insecurities ruin everything? I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book is easy to read. Not too much erotica but enough to keep it spicy. And enjoyable. I love books with animals in it especially ones like Tornado.

I feel like this book is relatable as well to people who have just relationship issues. Mainly the commitmentphobe type. It is definitely worth the read if you want a quick light read.

This book was a great read! I felt the author described the main characters’ chemistry with one another in enough detail to feel it as a reader. I enjoyed the characters in the story and feel they were well-developed and believable. I fell in love with Gil’s eccentric family. A plot twist near the middle of the book left me wanting to not put down the book until I the end. I recommend this book for anyone wanting a feel-good romance story.

While I did enjoy the overall storyline, especially the family dynamic of Gil’s, I did find (Un)Loved a bit difficult to get fully immersed in. The main characters were just not that likable to me and Sophie’s inner dialogue was frustrating and annoying. Gil and Sophie are co-stars who begin dating and fall in love. However, Gil’s commitment issues and Sophie’s life crisis and needs for change are hinders to these two being together. I do appreciate that they came together and found some balance but I just could not fully connect with them. I also like that the story also deals with a woman taking a stand for herself and letting her own life be first. I wish I was able to because it was a nice read and good start to the Mixed Emotions series.

Modern romance story that keeps the reader engaged about the life and intimate struggles of celebrity influencer Sophie Smith! Miss Smith allows you to be totally enveloped inside her head and see things through her eyes with her views on fame, self-expression, and life as a celebrity since she was 14. I truly enjoyed the perspective as it wasn’t one in which I have read often. Once I got started though I really had a hard time putting it down unless my eyes were drooping close. It was a pleasure to experience the paths that Sophie had to explore in order to reflect upon her own expectations. Do yourself a favor and take the stroll with the famous Sophie Smith! Though I struggled a little with the character talking to herself or to the reader (it seemed like both at times), the book is still something I would recommend for a modern romance!

This is a fab four-star read. This is number one in the Mixed Emotions series and my first read by this author, but it won’t be the last, as I enjoyed the premise of the story and am eager to get my teeth into number two. It could have done with more polish, but overall, I enjoyed the story. The chemistry is good, but the romance was okay. Sophie irritated me a little at first, I just couldn’t get to grips with her at first, she left me cold, but then I warmed to her and I really liked her in the end.

(Un)Loved is the first book in the Mixed Emotions series is the start of a new series. This is my first book by this author, and I was unsure of what to expect. The story is a sweet, realistic read of love and timing. I enjoyed the characters and story. I felt the story was dragging or a bit slow at different points. This just might be me and my timing of reading this book. I want to read the next book in the series because I liked the storyline and characters. I also loved the llama. What a great character in the story.

What happens when you meet the love of your life but your life isn’t where it needs to be? That is what happens with the main characters of this book. They are amazing and their lives are going where they want them to but is that enough? Does what they’re doing now affect what they want in the future? Can they work things out to get what they are wanting? These are the questions that I was constantly asking myself during this book. The characters have growth that you won’t see coming. There are is many bumps and bruises that they get along the way. This book had me crying, cursing, ranting, and swooning. I feel like I went on an emotional roller coaster. I wanted it to end then didn’t want it to end. I feel like I got whiplash with how things were constantly changing in this story. It almost gave me a book hangover. Not a lot of books can do that but this one did and the makes it a 5 star read. It is a witty, fun, romantic, steamy, soul crushing adventurous book. It constantly makes you wonder, is love enough. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to be emotionally abused. Just kidding, kind of. It is a great read and you want be disappointed while reading it.

Sophie is a famous actress who has been in the industry since she was a child. She is extremely dedicated to her job which leaves her without many personal relationships. She has some major attraction for her now ex costar G. He offers to have her come to his family’s farm in France so she can take a break from her career.

There was so much potential for the story here but there was some things I didn’t care for. The drama was a bit much. Both Sophie and G had their own things to work through on the trip but everything was so quick. Realistically the problems they had to figure out wouldn’t be as quick to resolve so the timeline seemed to be much longer than it actually was. There was also a TON of back and forth in their relationship that was just too much for my taste.

The story was still enjoyable so I would definitely read something else from this author.

This story is so cute, so sweet and oh so sexy. Another first book for me by this new to me author and I cannot wait to read more by her. I actually laughed out loud at some of Sophie Smith’s antics. I love the way the author writes this book as if the main character, Sophie, is telling the story. Her side comments, like we are inside her head, are hilarious. Easily turned page after page. I also loved the other main character of G, I call my husband G, so funny. I loved “watching” how they grew throughout the entire story, as if that was the major reason for the story. Definitely worth taking a chance on this author.

Let me preface this by saying I am not a romance reader. Paranormal romance yes, reverse harem, yes, and fantasy romance also yes. But straight romance is TYPICALLY not my thing.

However, this was absolutely adorable. You could really feel Sophie and Guillaume’s emotions through the way of the writing. Also, G’s family? Oh my goodness could they be any more adorable?

I read this all in one sitting within a couple of hours. I truly enjoyed this. It was fun and all-around a great time.

(UN)Loved (Mixed Emotions Series) by Katy Hunter. This is such a fun romantic comedy read. Its the story of Gil an actor and Sophie an actress. They have been friends forever but when they find out they are both attracted to one another they decide to take it to the next level. When they decide to go to France together to meet Gil’s family the craziness begins. Sophie is a complete city girl but when she lands on the French farm of Gil’s parents she has to become a farm girl quickly. When Gil’s gorgeous ex girlfriend shows up it brings all of Sophie’s insecurities to the surface. Sophie is crazy about Gil but he’s very afraid of commitment. When a handsome Frenchman starts to hit on Sophie she is torn. Throw in a crazy Llama and you have a romantic comedy like no other. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out if Gil and Sophie make it!

I liked it but I was confused at the beginning, to the point I almost started over. Instead I kept reading (Un)loved. About two people who love each other but are so broken they can’t be together.
It’s sad and happy all at the same time. The author makes you feel for the two main characters.
Sophie and Gil are actors just finishing up a movie they filmed together. A film that made them both of them broke the number #1 rule. “Don’t fall in love with your co-star.” The love they have for one another is fierce, but both characters are emotionally broken which leads to a toxic relationship.
It’s all about navigating how they feel for one another while trying to figure out who they are as individuals.
Do they end up together?
What choices about life does each character make?
These are just some questions that come to mind while reading this book. Of course if you’re like me, you will be rooting for them, unfortunately their situation doesn’t make a relationship easy, if successful at all.
If you like getting involved with the character’s feeling like you’re in the story with them, I suggest you give this book a shot. Since that’s exactly how it makes one feel.

(Un)Loved (Mixed Emotions #1) by Katy Hunter

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. (Un)Loved is a great book and it was hard to put it down. This is the first book in the Mixed Emotions Series.

Sophie is an actress and has been doing it since she was fourteen. She doesn’t know anything else, but acting. Getting tired of it she wants to take a break, but doesn’t think she can. The quote I chose for Sophie is: “I do. I need time to think about what being here with you means, and we need to just talk, you know. I’m going to be gone in a couple of days. I can’t just do the thing where I let you back in, then it all goes wrong again.”

Guillaume is getting everything he wants in life. He finally asked the girl of his dreams out. Now he’s invited her to his family’s farm. The quote I chose for Guillaume is: “Shee, it’s not that you’re not organized or that you haven’t got your shit together. It’s that you have different priorities than me. You’ve been so focused on being an actor that it’s all you know how to do. Which is great, because you are one amazing actor.”

Highly recommended for New Adult Romance lovers.

This is a fun, lighthearted romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Sophie never planned on falling in love with Gil, but whilst staying with his family and getting some French mountain air, she seems to be changing her mind. Unfortunately for actress and influencer Sophie, Gil has a bad case of commitment phobia. To complicate things further for Sophie, who is having an existential crisis, she also has to fend off a Frenchman and deal with her boyfriends very beautiful ex girlfriend. Oh, and she’s also dealing with a very grumpy llama, and being chased around the farm by angry goats! I found the main characters, Sophie and Gil a little hard to relate to in the beginning of the novel but I grew to love them as the storyline developed. Gil’s loving and liberated family were great and I enjoyed the interactions between them all. The grumpy llama brought humour to the story, as did the angry goats. The French mountain setting came to life through the descriptive narrative and made me feel immersed in the story. Overall, this was an enjoyable and entertaining read.

As much as I enjoyed this book I also found myself getting quite frustrated with Sophie and Gil I wanted them to just figure it all out and be happy, but good things happen or patience is a virtue or something like that.

Their time in France with his family and the animals was my favorite time, i know i giggled a few times.  I mean how can you go wrong when llamas and other animals are involved?

There are so many little things about this book that made me enjoy it.  Gil’s family definitely took a little piece of my heart with them.

Katy Hunter delivers a good one in the first book in the Mixed Emotions series, (Un)loved. The characters are well developed, although Gil seems a little too perfect (even with his fear of commitment) and Sophie is very dramatic (fitting though, since she is an actress). I like the change in scenery from France to L.A. although neither setting seemed to be the main focus in the story (France did get a little more read time as the more important scenes take place there). Overall, (Un)loved is a fairly quick, easy read. The love story here plays out a bit more realistically than most romance books, even though both characters are celebrities. I was impressed with Katy Hunter’s mix of characters as none of them were too similar to another. I would definitely read another book by Katy Hunter.

This was a 3.5 star read for me. I honestly really like the story, and I laughed more than once. It has the potential to be an amazing story I just couldn’t get that into it. The writing felt off to me. Not the story itself, but how it was executed. Is it supposed to be diary format? A journal/diary was introduced in the first chapter but it didn’t read like journal entries. And the timeline was so off I couldn’t tell where one scene ended and one began. Like I said above, I love the story itself and enjoyed the humor of the book. It was just off to me and this would 100% be a 5 star read to me if I could just make more sense of the time and how the scenes are executed. It felt a little rushed to me, may be what I’m trying to say. Either way I did enjoy this book and would read more from this author in the future!

This book is the first book of the series. It’s also the first book I’ve read by this author. I’m glad I picked it up! This book was such a cute read.

Sophie and Gil have finished up filming their movie. Boy do they have chemistry both on and off set. Sophie and Gil both have their obstacles to work through. Sophie is used to being alone and Gil is afraid of commitment. Will these two be able to make it work off set? Is that even what they want? Gil talks Sophie into taking a break and going to France with him and his family. Maybe this trip is just what they need to figure things out?

I couldn’t get enough of Gil’s family. They were so crazy but it was fun! This book was very well written and was such a good read. I didn’t want to put it down!
